📍 Ishinomaki: A Walk Through Temples, Ruins, and the Tsunami Memorial Park 🌊

Hello Walkers,
in this immersive 4K walk I explore Ishinomaki, a coastal city in Miyagi Prefecture forever changed by the 2011 tsunami. The path begins at Ishinomaki Station, continues past Jufukuji Temple (海石山 寿福寺) and Eiganji Temple (永巌寺), climbs up into a quiet hillside neighborhood overlooking the sea, and then descends toward one of the city’s most moving places: the ruins of Kadonowaki Elementary School (石巻市震災遺構 門脇小学校).

From there, I walk around the Miyagi Tsunami Memorial Museum (みやぎ東日本大震災津波伝承館) area, explore the Ishinomaki Minamihama Tsunami Memorial Park (石巻南浜津波復興祈念公園), including the hill 一丁目の丘, and end at the Gambaro! Ishinomaki Sign (がんばろう!石巻), a symbol of resilience and hope.
