How are you all? Welcome to the Nabe Travel Channel. This time, I would like to visit Grand Mercure Hamanako Resort & Spa in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. It is an all-inclusive hotel managed by AccorHotels, based in Paris, France, which opened in 22 locations nationwide in April 2024. It became a hot topic when it first opened, and I have been curious about it for a long time. I am really looking forward to seeing what kind of hotel it is. Let’s take a look together. Don’t forget to like and subscribe to the channel. Check-in was completed smoothly, so let’s take a look at the room. 帰りました。 English : Our room today is room 1115 on the 11th floor. Let’s go inside the door. Now , the door opens . This is what our room looks like . It ‘s built like a city hotel. Recently, all-inclusive hotels have been mostly Japanese modern or ryokan-style, but this time it’s built like a city hotel. Our room today is on the 11th floor, and the view from the 11th floor looks like this. Lake Hamana is nearby, so you can really see the lake and the ocean in the distance. The weather is nice today, so the view is nice. The hallway has a slightly old-fashioned feel, but the interior of the room has a chic feel, from the wallpaper to the colors. There’s a refrigerator. I don’t think there’s any water provided. Here’s the tea set. There’s a safe in there. I wonder what’s in here. There’s a hair dryer in there. This is an explanation of the hotel. There are bath towels and washcloths in this drawer. There is also indoor clothing. You need to bring a towel when you go to the large communal bath. Next is the toilet and bathroom. What is it like ? It’s a unit bath type. It’s built like a city hotel. There ‘s hand soap, hair conditioner, body soap, and I think it’s a brand called Ediva. They’re all there. I booked through Rakuten Travel this time . This is the 1st anniversary rebranding plan. It is a 36 square meter standard twin room. It is 27,000 yen for 2 people for 1 night, 2 days on a weekday. I think this price is very cheap considering it is all-inclusive. You can also drink as much alcohol as you like. Next, let’s go explore the hotel. There was no water in the room, but there is a water dispenser at the bottom of the elevator so you can fill it up wherever you like . There is something going on from the 1st to 4th floors. Floors 5th to 13th are the guest rooms. Let’s take a look at the lounge on the 1st floor. Here you can enjoy welcome drinks and welcome food, as well as everything from soft drinks to alcoholic beverages. The Executive Lake View Lounge opened on the 13th floor in April this year. It is exclusively for guests staying in Executive Twin and Suite Rooms. Now that I’ve had a break, I’ll start exploring the hotel . On the first floor, in addition to the lounge, there are amenities next to the front desk, a convenience store in the package room, a game center, and a table tennis room. There is also a hot spring, but I’ll take a look at that later. I went up to the second floor. On the second floor, there is a restaurant and a banquet hall. Street pianos have become popular recently, so there is a piano installed so that various people can play it. Outside, there is a garden pool where you can play in luxury under the blue sky. In addition to the main pool where adults can relax, there is also a kids’ pool. The weather was nice and the resort atmosphere was great, so it felt really good. The pool is only open in the summer. So it’s probably a good idea to check the website beforehandNow, let’s go and check out the hot springs.The atmosphere is nice.A 30-minute massage for 4,000 yen is surprisingly reasonable.The hot spring is called “Yuto Onsen” and is a private hot spring that comes from about 500 meters underground.You can enjoy the large communal bath, the open-air bath and the sauna.My personal impression was that the smell of chlorine was a little strong.After getting out of the hot springs, I really wanted to eat some delicious eel since I’m at Lake Hamana, so I went to Yamashichi Shoten, which is about a 5-minute taxi ride from the hotel.Yamashichi Shoten is one of the few shops that farms its own eels even in Lake Hamana, where eels are thriving, and they catch fresh, delicious eels from their own pond every morning.It was very delicious.I’ve posted information about this shop, which may have been the best one I had on this trip, in the description, so if you’re interested, please check it out. Next, let’s go and see the restaurant . You can enjoy a variety of dishes in buffet style with a beautiful view of the food. There is a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes lined up, using plenty of fresh seafood and vegetables from the local Lake Hamana . You can enjoy freshly cooked dishes in the live kitchen . The eel rice looks delicious. You can also eat tonkotsu ramen. Half of the customers were foreigners, and I think that’s part of the reason, but the menu feels more like a buffet in a hotel overseas than in a Japanese hotel
. There are many desserts and, since it’s all-inclusive, there is a wide variety of alcoholic drinks, which is great. I’ve brought a lot. The seafood, such as sashimi, is also delicious. It was really delicious, but I personally felt that the other menu items were a little lacking. The ramen soup was so thick that I felt like I could eat about three bowls of rice with it. Next, I would like to go and see the breakfast buffet. The breakfast menu was about half Japanese and half Western. They made ham and cheese sandwiches by toasting bread with ham and cheese , and they also baked hotcakes on the spot, so it was fun to enjoy the lively atmosphere. There were also drinks ranging from smoothies to detox water and 100% fruit juice. This time, I tried something different from usual, and went for Western food. What I think from last night’s dinner is that Western food is more delicious than Japanese food. It was a meal that satisfied both the body and the mind. Thank you for the meal. However, I was disappointed that although the exterior, appearance, and atmosphere were nice, I felt that the details, including the food, were lacking .
