【九州パワスポ旅~湯布院~】龍神様が宿る神秘の金鱗湖 由布岳の絶景ドライブコース
Hello everyone! This is tocomama information bureau. Today I went to Yufuin, Oita Prefecture! Every New Year, I go back to my husband’s hometown of Fukuoka, but today I drove from Fukuoka to Yufuin in Oita Prefecture with my family . Yufuin seems to be very popular these days, and of course it has been a very popular hot spring town for a long time, but now it seems like a lot of foreigners are visiting as well. There are fun streets to eat while walking around, a mysterious lake , and shrines that you can visit, so I’d like to enjoy Yufuin to the fullest today! Yufuin Station This is “Yufuin Station”! It’s a cool station building with a design that looks like a steam locomotive, but when you exit Yufuin Station, you can see Mt. Yufu directly in front of you. This is your photo spot. What a great view! If you walk straight down this street, it will become a fun street to eat. The station building was designed by Arata Isozaki, an architect from Oita Prefecture, and was completed in 1990. I said earlier that it looked like a steam locomotive, but apparently it was inspired by a chapel. There is also a footbath corner on the station platform , which anyone can use by purchasing an admission ticket and footbath privileges. As expected, it’s a station in a hot spring town. By the way, the difference between “Yufuin” and “Yufuin”. I looked it up and found that “Yufuin” is a place name that was created by the merger of the former Yufuin village and the former Yufuin town. The former Yufuin town is called “Yufuin”, and when referring to the entire town including the former Yufuin village, it is “Yufuin”. “Yufuin” was used for different purposes. Recently, there has been confusion, and Yufuin Town, where Yufuin Onsen and Yufuin Station are located, is “Yufu City Yufuin Town”, but it seems like there is no correct answer anymore, and many places are written as “Yufuin” in hiragana. is. Even in this video, “Yufuin” and “Yufuin” are mixed together , but please don’t take it too seriously! Come on, Yufuin. Anyway, it’s very crowded with foreigners, especially Chinese and Korean people! The number of tourists per year is over 4 million, and the number of foreign tourists in the year before last alone exceeded 1 million, the highest ever since the survey began. The secret to its popularity seems to be that there are many other fun spots besides hot springs . First, drive along the “Yamanami Highway” where you can fully enjoy the great nature of Yufuin! We drove to the magnificent Mt. Yufu. The forest road continues for a while. Kyushu boasts some of the most scenic driving routes in the country, and has been selected as one of Japan’s 100 Famous Roads. As soon as you pass through the forest, a vast grassland area opens up in front of you and you can’t help but wow! The more you shout, the more your field of vision opens up. And on the left is Mt. Yufu! Yufudake is shaped like that cat’s ears. Just like Aso, which I visited in the summer, the grassland is maintained and regenerated through burning of the fields, and in the summer, the green grassland spreads out, but the golden carpet of winter leaves is a beautiful contrast with the blue sky. Arrive at Sagiridai, an observation spot that offers a panoramic view of the city of Yufuin . In front of the observation deck at an altitude of 680m I drove all the way along the Yufudake Yamanami Highway and came to a place called the observation deck of Aso Kokonoe National Park “Sagiridai”. Amazing! It’s a wonderful view! Please take a look! Right in front of me! Yufudake! Double peak. Two peaks are clearly visible! Cityscape! Amazing! Feels good! Yufudake (altitude 1,583m) is also known as Bungo Fuji due to its beautiful and majestic appearance with two peaks , and is known as a famous mountain representative of Oita Prefecture. It has been worshiped as a sacred mountain since ancient times, and its name is also written in the Kojiki and Bungo no Kuni Fudoki . It is said that Hisaya Fukada regretted not making it into Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains, and it is also a popular mountain for climbing. After enjoying the view of Mt. Yufu, we headed back down the Yamanami Highway to the foot of Mt. Yufu. Our next destination was Lake Kinrinko, a popular tourist spot that many people visit when they come to Yufuin. This road along the river is also very atmospheric and perfect for a stroll. It’s nice to be able to see Mt. Yufu from anywhere in the city. We arrived at Lake Kinrinko. A small lake with a circumference of about 400 meters. It is said that in the 17th year of the Meiji period, the Confucian scholar Mori Kuso named the lake “Kinrinko Lake” after seeing the golden glow of fish scales illuminated by the setting sun . People who see it for the first time may think, “It’s smaller than I expected.” It was originally a large lake, but due to repeated tectonic movements it was filled with sediment and became its current size. It’s a good size so you can take a leisurely stroll around the lake. This is Lake Kinrinko! The lake surface is sparkling and beautiful, isn’t it? If you come early in the morning in winter, white water vapor will rise from the surface of the lake. It is said that the white mist creates a fantastic view. It was already late today, so the lake was clear and beautiful, but next time I’d like to get up early and see Lake Kinrinko in its early morning haze. You can see lots of fish swimming around. It’s so beautiful♪ Also, the legend of the Dragon God has been passed down in this “Kinrin Lake”. In the past, a dragon that had nowhere else to go asked Tensojin to give him a safe place to live, and in return, he asked Tensojin to make clear water spring out and protect this land for a long time. It is said that he left behind. Even now, fresh water and hot springs gush out from the bottom of the lake, serving as the water source for Yufuin. There is also a shrine near the lake where the legendary Tensojin is enshrined, so we headed there. It seems that the water in this chozuisha is also spring water. It’s coming out really strong. It is said that the 12th Emperor Keiko ordered Hayatsu Hime, who lived in Hayami District, Bungo Province, to enshrine the spirits of the imperial ancestors [‘Tenso Shrine’]. The shrine building with the lake at its back enshrines Tensojin in the center, Yasaka Shrine to the right, and Konpira Shrine to the left. As I thought about this at Hakozaki Shrine, I feel that most of the torii gates of shrines in Kyushu have both ends of the upper cap raised tightly. We received similar comments from viewers as well. Is this unique to Kyushu, or is it just a coincidence? If anyone knows anything about torii, please let me know. I thought that Tenso-kami was “Amaterasu Omikami,” but it turned out to be “Amanomi-naka-nushi-kami.” According to the Kojiki, one of the first gods to appear in this world, “Kentsuchi no Mikoto,” was born to Izanami no Mikoto at the end of the divine birth, and was born as the god of fire, so Izanami no Mikoto left this world. Masu. This is a god that makes you feel connected to volcanic eruptions. Kotoshironushi-kami is enshrined at Konpira Shrine. It is said that he is the same as the snake god Oomonushi no Mikoto, so it is a deity that you definitely want to visit in the Year of the Snake. There is also a pair of large sacred cedar trees on the grounds. I couldn’t find out the age of the tree, but it is designated as a natural monument of Yufu City. The torii gate of Tenso Shrine stands as if it were floating on Kinrinko Lake. This is probably the path of the dragon god who resides in this lake. This is a very magical photo with the morning mist. The entire area, including Lake Kinrink, is within the precincts of Tenso Shrine. Looking at this view, it is no wonder that Lake Kinrink is said to be a power spot. The morning mist of Lake Kinrinko is a hot spring where the spring water in this area is high in temperature, so the difference in temperature between the water and the cold air tends to cause such mist and mist. It was so cold that day that I could see a white mist near the surface of the lake even during the day. After leaving Lake Kinrinko, I returned to the main street of Yufuin. He’s an amazing person. It feels like Harajuku in Oita. I feel like about half of them are Korean. The words I hear. We have a wide variety of Yufuin specialties and takeout gourmet food. This time I stopped by this very stylish cafe. “Marichi cucuchi”
is a restaurant that has been renovated from an old folk house, where you can enjoy seasonal desserts and carefully selected coffee. There was also a terrace seat that looked comfortable! The scenery is amazing! Even a swing like this! It’s too nice! I want to try all of the Amaou parfaits, strawberry daifuku, and dorayaki ! So, each family member chooses a different one! Amaou Mont Blanc Parfait Amaou from Fukuoka Prefecture and Amaou cream are luxuriously arranged and will get you excited! A parfait unique to Yufuin where you can enjoy the exquisite sweet and sour taste of strawberries, sweet cream, and red bean paste, and enjoy the taste of Japan. The famous “Dorayaki” is filled with red bean paste between freshly baked fluffy dough! Dainagon azuki beans are delicately sweet, elegant and satisfying to eat, with a dough carefully baked by a craftsman . Dorayaki is more than dorayaki! It was definitely one of the top 3 most delicious dorayaki I’ve ever eaten. Amaou’s strawberry daifuku and coffee set Arita ware cup and saucer is also wonderful. The bean paste is not white bean paste, but milk bean paste. Amaou and milk bean paste wrapped in melt-in-the-mouth daifuku is the best dish that can only be enjoyed at this time of year. It was delicious! Our last stop was Yufufu, which is popular for its roll cakes and pudding. The eggs are freshly laid every day, and the milk is freshly squeezed and delivered every morning. Our products are carefully handmade by skilled craftsmen using fresh and carefully selected materials. I took home the famous smooth pudding , which also comes in flavors such as black sesame and earl grey. As the name suggests, plain smooth pudding is very smooth and rich! It’s delicious because it’s made with fresh eggs and milk! The bitter caramel was also very delicious, just the way I like it! If I come to Yufuin, I will definitely return with a win! Mt. Yufu, with its beautiful and majestic appearance that captivated even Hisaya Fukada with its twin-eared peaks. Kinrinko is a mysterious lake where the sparkling dragon god dwells. You can pray while feeling the presence of Tenso-kami. The torii gate floats in the morning mist. It looks like an entrance that connects to the world of the gods. I was able to recharge my power again this time at one of the best power spots in Kyushu ! This concludes my Kyushu trip. The next trip home will probably be in six months. I’m already looking forward to seeing where we go!
