Andaz Capital Gate is located in Abu Dhabi, within the iconic Capital Gate Tower. Hello we are here in Abu Dhabi. Andaz Capital Gate Hotel is about 20 minutes away from Abu Dhabi airport. Arrived in no time. The Capital Gate Tower, completed in 2011, is one of Abu Dhabi’s most iconic landmarks. It leans 18 degrees to the west, earning a Guinness World Record as the “World’s farthest manmade leaning building”. There are some fountains by the entrance. The tower rises 165 meters (541 feet) high, spans 35 floors and even features a rooftop helipad. Right here. It reportedly cost about $272 million to build. UAE and hotel flags are on display. A small monument stands in the center of the parking area. The area is covered in a stainless steel roof. If you come by car, come here! I’m really curious what it feels like to sleep inside a leaning building. Let’s see, let’s see. Ground floor. By the way, the building also houses offices, not just the hotel. Andaz concierge desk. Small cafe area. WOW. This rooftop decor is kind of stunning. To the lobby, which is located on the 18th floor. Portraits of UAE leaders on display. Get into the elevator. This door looks like it needs some vaseline. Inside the elevator, it says the tower holds a Guinness World Record for its 18-degree lean. Andaz is a 5-star luxury hotel operated by Hyatt brand. We are now at the lobby area and lounge. Pretty modern isn’t it? Reception desks. During check-in, a staff member introduced us to the hotel’s facilities and surroundings. Also, the name of the hotel, “Andaz” means personal style in the Hindi language. There’s also a nearby beach, which we’ll visit after the room tour. Quite a unique hotel. There’s a traditional seating area ..where we can enjoy some Arabic coffee. And dates. Arabic coffee and dates are part of the traditional Emirati welcome. The view from above. Andaz Capital Gate is often described as an art-inspired hotel, featuring local artworks and design elements that reflect Emirati culture and contemporary style. Next.. Three portraits of UAE royal family members. What do we have here? Andaz book, priced at 200 AED (about 55 USD). A candle priced at 220 AED (around 60 USD)?? Other objects. There are some perfumes, globes. Nice one. Capital Gate Tower. It is a beautiful building and hotel. Helipad on top. Here is the terrace and pool area. Look at this masterpiece! One really interesting fact about Andaz Capital Gate Hotel is that every room is uniquely shaped because of the building’s dramatic 18-degree tilt. No two rooms have the exact same layout and the windows are all angled differently. This book offers information about how the tower was built. Day vs. night. The book covers everything from architectural design and construction challenges to interior design and sustainability aspects of the tower. What’s interesting is that the tower looks different from every angle. So apparently.. …in order to build the tower, engineers first created a reinforced concrete core, then added the external steel structure and glass façade around it. It’s impressive what humans can achieve. The book also includes photos showing how the tower looked during its construction. Capital Gate Tower took about four years to complete, from 2007 to 2011. Cleaning looks like a major challenge. A true feat of modern architecture and human ingenuity. 👏🏻👏🏻 The interior of the hotel is even more stunning. We’ll see it in a few moments. The hotel lights up beautifully at night, highlighting the tower. This is the Andaz lounge where we can enjoy some tea. Only hotel guests can stay here. Bar. Let’s take a look at what they offer. Pastries and various desserts. Is this a bonsai cake??? Some other interesting creations. They all look delicious and expensive. They also have sponge cakes, tarts, mochi and more. Matcha ones. Nice. Tea for sale. It is from Le Provence brand. Menu is a collaboration between Andaz Capital Gate Abu Dhabi and Park Hyatt Tokyo. #TasteOfJapan, featuring Japanese-inspired desserts and tea experiences. Classic teas and coffee. Dessert menu. Matcha tiramisu 40 AED (around 11 USD). Reading space here. We can close the curtains for more privacy. A not so comfortable sofa. There’s also a terrace on the 18th floor, next to the lounge. It is the terrace of the “18 Degrees” bar. There are many tables and sofa where we can stay. …and enjoy the heat of Abu Dhabi. 🙂 Let’s see, let’s see. I put my phone at risk right here but it was worth the view. When we look up.. The bar and restaurant are next to each other. This is the inside bar area. Beautiful decorations. Restaurant. It is filled with natural light and greenery. It is a chic one. Setup with wine bottles and glasses. The luxury hotel features only one bar and one restaurant so we will eat here for dinner. At night, we can enjoy cocktails and music. 18 Degrees bar menu. Cocktails, aperitifs, mocktails. Beers, congnac and other spirits. Wines. Some bar snacks. We can see geometric shapes throughout the hotel, reflecting the tower’s unique architecture. Interesting. Elevator hall. There’s a huge book featuring places in Abu Dhabi. Dog celebrity. Arabian nights village. From the lobby area, we move on to the room. Restaurant main entrance. First, we’ll go take a look at the hotel interior from below. Wowow. Look at this, everyone. We can see the tower’s steel structure twisting dramatically toward the sky. The top is fully covered with glass, letting in the natural sunlight. Each floor has a different layout. An amazing tower and an even more impressive hotel. Our room is on the 32nd floor. The tower has a total of 35 floors and features 188 rooms and suites. The Andaz Capital Gate Hotel occupies the 18th to the 33rd floors of the Capital Gate Tower. Let’s begin the room tour. Room key card is made of wood and features the tower. Sesame, open. The room we’ll be staying in during this visit is a 1 King Bed Panoramic View. It’s spacious, 48 square meters, with modern design mixed with Arabian details. Place to relax and eat some welcome fruits. The room offers panoramic city views, just as the category name suggests. King bed. Linens look simple but feel very soft and high-quality. Soft pillows. TV remote controller and phone. Amenities and outlets feel a bit dated already. Other stuff. Andaz water. Don’t take the bottle home in case you don’t want to pay $5. Working desk. There’s some art in the room. Strange light. Silver pill lamp. Kettle. Colorful notepad and pen that match the room tones. NOOOO How is the pool closed?? TV. Next is the minibar. Coffee and tea box. Andaz branded sugar. Animal print cups. They are a collaboration. Nespresso coffee machine. Minifridge. All the minibar items are complimentary and replenished once per day! Arabic chocolates. Water and sodas. Chips. Tea cups and glasses. Cups ready to go. The bathroom features both a bathtub and a walk-in shower. Relaxing view. Andaz camel milk soap. The bathtub handles look new and well-maintained. Towels. Bathrobe doesn’t have the hotel logo written. Entering through the grass glass door. The Andaz shower trio. Sink area. I got into a fight with the makeup mirror. Lotion. Hand soap and colorful coasters. Medium water pressure. Vanity sets, shower cap, dental kits, etc. Alex’s favorite place. Phone. Towel. Wardrobes are located in front of the entrance door. Safebox. Hairdryer. What do we have here. Hangers, iron, slippers. Indoor slippers have a bright color. Oranges. We can get our shoes cleaned once for free. Laundry price list. Night lamps that almost never work. Here’s the hotel’s emergency exit plan. Cooling system is from Honeywell Home. The price for this kind of room starts at 1200 AED, $270 / night. Suites or higher floors with panoramic views can go above 1,500 AED, around $330. Considering its design, service and the Guinness World Record tower it’s in, it’s great value for a 5-star stay. Time to go to the beach. In case you are asking.. No, there’s no direct access to the sea or beach from the hotel, so we’ll need to take the hotel shuttle to get there. I think it’s a nice compensation, since their pool has been closed for a few months. It’s actually a beautiful private beach, located just 15 minutes from the hotel. Access is free. Let’s be comfortable. It is a nice atmosphere with music and water sports. Brought the complimentary snacks to enjoy. How needs the pool when there is beach?? People having some fun. These chips taste like cherry tomatoes. Chocolate. Water sports are not complimentary, except for kayaking. There’s also a bar. Beach volleyball. Why is it a horse here? Guests can actually ride it along the beach for about $150. Goodbye horse. It’s a swing in the water. So nice. Water is not the best but since we are in the dessert let’s be grateful. Some places around the area where kids can play. Here we can enjoy beautiful sunset views. Overall, the beach and water aren’t the best, but the atmoshpere is great. Back to the tower. It’s a beautiful sunset today. We’ll get changed for dinner now. See you. Dinner is served at Cyan Brasserie Restaurant from 6:30pm to 11pm. Cyan Brasserie at Andaz Capital Gate is quite renowned. It’s not Michelin-starred, but it’s award-winning
known for its fine French–Arabian fusion cuisine and elegant atmosphere. It has received recognition from Time Out Abu Dhabi and Fact Dining Awards as one of the city’s top hotel restaurants. Decor is casual and with many green tones. The tables are elegantly set which explains the smart casual dress code. Let’s see the menu. Classic French onion soup and Middle Eastern dips to seafood platters, pasta and butter chicken. Prices for mains range between 85 and 150 AED, which is about 23 to 41 USD. Some welcome bread rolls with olive oil. They look to be filled with something. Dinner begins. It is cut into four pieces. I am curious because I’ve never tired something similar. For the starter, we’ll share a variety of small plates. Hummus, moutabel, muhammara and beetroot hummus. I chose some good red wine. Thank you dear. Now we can dig in. The dips come with stone pita bread. It’s warm and soft. Pizza has a beautiful, golden crust. The spreads are colorful and smell aromatic. It is a good pizza. My favorite is the hummus because it is so soft. Dips are a traditional part of Middle Eastern cuisine so you can’t miss them while you visit UAE. Salad de Gabrielle with spinach, feta, raspberry nibs, orange blossom vinagraitte for main course. And Beef slider. Everything is delicious. Well-deserved rated restaurant. For dessert, we had a coconut panna cotta. And pineapple with vanilla ice cream and bread crumble. I forgot to record the dessert menu though. So you’ll just have to take my word for it. Panna cotta is not that soft, but rather a cheesecake. Not so jelly. We can see the tower starting to light up in blue. Road is busy. The total for this delightful dinner is 318 AED, which is about 87 USD. We went outside for a bit to see the tower appearance. At night, the tower looks stunning as it lights up in blue and gold. All the windows around here are hotel rooms. As we approach the hotel, the view is even more stunning. The hotel’s side entrance is also illuminated in bright blue. Inside the hotel, lights shine across the marble floor. Back in the lobby area. The atmosphere at night feels calm and quiet, with only a few people around. Just like during the day. The lights above have a Japanese feeling and are beautiful. The little tower stays the same. Back on our guest room floor now. It feels similar to the lights outside the tower, except these are white instead of blue. 35 stories building. The tower looks beautiful. Returned to our deluxe room. There is no turndown service at the hotel. I would like to take a look at the view. I love all these big city lights. Feels very calming to me. Adios for now. See you in the next part of the video. Day 2 at Capital Gate Tower. We’re starting the morning with a delicious buffet breakfast. We chose a big table.
With a good scenery in front. Breakfast is served at the same and the only restaurant from 7am to 10:30am. Buffet table with some variations of bread.
Donuts. Pastries and danishes. With tomatoes. Croissants simple, with za’atar and with chocolate. Pita bread and small bread. Slices. Blueberry muffins and marble cakes are very common. Sweet bread with walnuts. Cinnamon roll. Beurre D’Isigny butter. Edam cheese and various cheese platters with fruits and salty crackers. Baladi, soft goat cheese and Feta cheese. Apricot compote. Fruit salad. Various fruits. Mixed berry jams. Ingredients for salad. Arabic pickles mix.
Hummus of course. We can add some oils. Pickled onions, olives. Variety of ham. Smoked salmon. Labneh is their traditional Middle Eastern strained yogurt. Cooked dishes. Falafel! Cheese manakish. Poha. Aloo bonda looks to be fried donuts. Chilli pickles. Shahsuka Turkish. Baked beans. Tiny sausages. Bacon. Diverse condiments and spices. A pocal of soup. Juices. Yogurts and nuts table. Cashews, walnuts, pistachio. Dried fruits and raisins. Seeds. Selection of powders. Chocolate spreads and jams. Homemade granola. Flakes, rice crisp, others. This looks like a butterfly. Vegan bircher muesli. Vegan chia pudding. Vegan yogurt and sauces. Greek and plain yogurt. Milk.
Coffee machine. It is actually a semi-buffet breakfast. That means we can also order from the small a la carte menu without fees. What should I take? Omelette with everything and a portion of waffles. I thought there are two of them. The omelette comes with a crispy hash brown on the side. Coffee is here. This is more milk than coffee. Chose some items from the buffet tables as well. Croissant with some spreads, cheese, some grapes and bread with butter. Sweet and spicy spreads. Well, well. Food is great. Waffle. Maple syrup on the side. Got some refreshing towels after breakfast. Thank you for the food! Next stop is Rayana Spa. Next to it, there’s the salon and the gym. Hello. Reception area. Relaxation and lounge area for hotel guests. Foot spa services. This is the other part of the hotel. We can enjoy some coffee and small snacks while waiting for our treatments. Gummy bears and jellies. The Cherish Spa offers a variety of relaxing treatments, including Swedish, Balinese and aromatherapy massages. Prices start around 390 AED (≈106 USD) for a 60-minute treatment. Oils are on display. Couple massage and treatment room. The spa suite includes two bath jacuzzis and two massage tables. The beds have purple light. It is beautifully decorated. Spa bathroom. Amenities are placed on the counter. Each massage room features a toilet and shower. Moving on… ..to the other side of the spa. Decor here is bright and colorful, giving the space a relaxing yet lively feel. Swimwear for sale. Goggles and wet sets for sale. Painting not for sale. A personal training session costs 200 AED, which is about 55 USD for one session. This is the 24-hour fitness center. The gym offers panoramic city views and plenty of natural light. It’s fully equipped with treadmills, bikes and weights. Most of the gym equipment here is from the Technogym brand. There are three units of each main equipment type so there’s rarely any waiting time to work out. Fresh towels and water. The spa area is clean and comfortable. There are separate changing rooms for men and women, each equipped with small lockers, hangers, slippers and a hair dryer. Amenities and decor are simple. After swimming or working out, guests can refresh easily before heading out. There’s a mist sauna, though no dry sauna or jacuzzi. It’s almost time for our checkout, about 20 minutes left until 11am. Our stay at Andaz Capital Gate Abu Dhabi was wonderful. The highlight, of course, is the unique leaning tower itself. Sleeping inside a Guinness World Record-holding building felt special. The total cost for our stay, including dinner and extras, came to around 1,700 AED (460 USD). I’m grateful for this experience. The Capital Gate Tower, also known as Abu Dhabi’s Leaning Tower, is a 35-story skyscraper standing 165 meters tall. It is owned and developed by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company. Construction began in 2007 and was completed in 2011 at a cost of 1 billion AED (about 272 million USD).
