Hyogo HYOGO Awaji Island AWAJI Gourmet Trip 1 Night 2 Days There are usually police officers just at the entrance after crossing the bridge and for some reason many people get caught because they are not wearing their seatbelts in the back so this is the most likely place to get caught Also if you come at night it will be really lit up so it might be a good idea to go through at night Why not start off by going on a date to a place that everyone who comes to Awaji Island goes to ? There were quite a few people buying stamps at Awajishima SA. They cost around 2,000 or 3,000 yen. Kids love stamps, don’t they? There were so many people ! Wow, amazing ! There’s a Starbucks too! Our first meal on Awajishima was surprisingly Mister Donut. First, we went to Hanasajiki, a popular spot in Awaji. It’s about a 10-minute drive from Awajishima SA on the local roads, and the parking fee is 200 yen (1.3 USD). There used to be no building like this at Awaji Hanasajiki. Let’s take the recommended route. The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is one of the world’s largest suspension bridges . In 2022, it was overtaken by the edge of Turkey to become the second largest in the world. This is on the opposite side of Awajishima, and the view from Kobe City is also recommended. I came here for a recommended walking path, but there’s nothing here ! There’s absolutely nothing here! There’s a swarm of bees! (My daughter says) They smell so bad! Those are dead hydrangeas ! Did you come to see the dead fields ? There are loads of sunflowers… They’re usually looking down, but it seems like the timing was a little off. My daughter loves sunflowers , so the types of flowers change depending on the season. The best time to see them varies so be sure to check the official website in advance I’ll put it in the description box It’s Mama, Kikko is such a good actor lol It’s always tough for a mother – it’s quite a slope… ha ha it must be tough for kids It’s tough for adults too It looks like a sunflower field around here but they’re not in bloom yet It’s fine They’re in bloom over here It’s so hot Are you tired? It’s so hot , it’s scary. All the souvenirs are just onions. Awaji has a souvenir shop on the first floor , a cafe on the second floor, an observation deck, and an onion soup vending machine. They also have cold onion soup. Sigh… I ‘m tired. We only stayed for about 20 minutes, and everyone is sweating. The sea is great! Roads like this resemble the Sydney Opera House. We decided to have lunch here. Awaji Gourmet Hall Miketsukuni. The restaurant has a really retro atmosphere. Seafood bowl set for 2,180 yen (15 USD). Looks delicious, it’s luxurious. Shall we eat ? Since we’re in Awaji, it should have onion dressing. We ‘re probably hungry, so a salad would be good too. I found the salmon roe, which Mommy likes. It’s delicious. Salmon roe is really good, after all. Since we’re in Awaji, we have to try some whitebait. Whitebait is one of Awaji Island’s signature seafood delicacies. I’m not sure if it’s Awaji or not. Is it just regular whitebait…or is it? You can see the sliced onions. Free onion soup for 320 yen. The onions were soft and delicious. Thank you for the meal . They also sell a few local products. Heading to the hotel, Hotel New Awaji ♪ I’m sure all Kansai people know it lol. There’s a beach too. It’s so big. Are we going to the beach? No lol. A pool would be better? I think so. Mommy, we’re here, we’re here, we’ve arrived , we’ve arrived at the hotel. Nagisa no Sou Hanaki. This is the first time I’ve seen something like this when checking in. Room tour . Wow , you can see the ocean so well. The bath in the Showa-era house isn’t something we’re planning on using. It feels like my parents’ house. The toilet amenities are amazing . The view is great . Hurry before it gets cold 💨 Go to the pool. Use this corridor to go to the pool at Hotel New Awaji next door. Hotel New Awaji ♪ Here we are! Pool! There was a kids’ pool too, which was fun. Pool . I wanted to stay for 12 hours . Can I stay for 12 hours? There’s a kids’ room and a game center next to the pool, and the juice after the pool is the best. You can choose your favorite yukata. Once you’ve chosen the one you like, go to the private bath.♨️Private bath (45 minutes) 2,200 yen (15 USD). It has such a private feeling. According to the hotel staff, “Tenku no Shizuku” is the largest and recommended. Finally we arrived and it was bath time ♨️ The bath was really great. In addition to the indoor and outdoor baths, there was an outdoor bath on the lower floor. It was really great. It was a hot spring with a spectacular view of the ocean right in front of you. Tenku no Shizuku is recommended. There are picture books in the lobby and it’s really spacious. The parking lot is right in front of the hotel ❌ Hanago no Mi Hanagoyomi It takes about 10 minutes Let’s go to the pool! Let’s go to the pool in the morning ! Yay ! Be careful when you come! I thought it wouldn’t be open, but this back door is the entrance. The latest gourmet OLO CHURRO, opened in March 2025, costs 850 yen (5.8 USD). It’s so soft and melty, it’s delicious ! It certainly looks soft, and it’s soft and crunchy , and makes a nice sound. Thank you for the meal! I’m still eating! Uzunooka . There’s a long line for the popular onion UFO catcher. There’s also a long line for the onion sculpture. Awaji Island Burger. Awaji Island Burger Set: 1,750 yen (12 USD). Lemon squash and onion rings. The Awaji Island burger has onion rings and thinly sliced Awaji beef inside. It’s delicious , but I don’t know what flavor it is . It has a bit of a nose. The onion fries have a bit of a soggy feel to my nose , but I wonder if that’s normal. Well, the flavor is strong, and there’s lemon peel inside. There are probably better gourmet burgers out there . I like onion rings, but Mos Burger might be even better. LOL . The onions are delicious. Onions are delicious, but… how to fry them? Yes, thanks for the meal . Now let’s stop by that sweets shop on the way home. I’m really tired, so in the end we didn’t go to the beach, and we didn’t go to the pool either . We went, but… Shimizu, a popular high-end sweet potato confectionery shop . Japanese sweet potato 400 yen (2.7 USD) Baked sweet potato brulee 780 yen (5.3 USD) Wow, you know how to eat it well.
