四国八十八ヶ所巡り2日目 #japantravel

welcome to day two hiking the 888 Temple pilgrimage around shikoku Japan we woke up from a comfy night of sleep in the Bell Tower with plans to visit temples 7 8 and 9 the temples were pretty close together connected by small streets in the suburbs of tokushima we took the first half of the day visiting the temples before we stopped for a bowl of ramen at the pink Dragon we ran into another Pilgrim from Australia who joined us for lunch we decided not to do a big day today so that we can ease into walking the trail this sort of track is new for Adam and we want to avoid any injuries that can come from overdoing mileage too early in the afternoon we walked a few kilometers to our accommodation our plan is to camp for a lot of this Trail but while we’re in tokushima prefecture the options for that are pretty much non-existent so we’ll be staying in homestays and guest houses until we leave the city our host was super friendly and the room was perfect the only food close by was a convenience store so we walked over grabbed some food and finished the evening with kosas and fried chicken see you tomorrow for day three

The temples were relatively close together, connected by small streets in the suburbs of Tokushima. We took the first half of the day visiting the temples before we stopped for a bowl of ramen at the Pink Dragon. We ran into another pilgrim from Australia who joined us for lunch. We decided not to do a big day today so that we can ease into walking the trail. This sort of trek is new for Adam and we want to avoid any injuries that can come from overdoing mileage too early. In the afternoon we walked a few kms to our accommodation. Our plan is to camp for a lot of this trail, but while we’re in Tokushima prefecture, the options for that are pretty much nonexistent, so we’ll been staying in home stays and guest houses until we leave the city. Our host was super friendly and the room was perfect! The only food close by was a convenience store, so we walked over, grabbed some food, and finished the evening with gyoza and fried chicken. See you tomorrow for day 3!

  1. Greetings from another Australian, best wishes on your journey, can you tell me the cost of the accomodation, I’m contemplating doing the journey.

  2. Maybe you're still on your way: Enjoy your pilgrimage till the end and especially the temples! It's really nice to see you guys, you look like a lovely sister-brother-couple.
I've been to Shikoku in September and it was hard with a lot of sunny days of 30-35°C but worth the sweat & doubts. And the feeling being back at temple no. 3, 2 and finally 1 was a full-circle-moment.
    🙏🏼Greetings from Europe to 🇯🇵
