鶴見川にかかる亀甲橋を渡ると、流れの大きさに時間の積み重ねを感じた。かつて源流を歩いた川が、ここでは街を抱き込みながら進んでいる。橋のたもとには浅間神社があり、場所を移しながらも守り続けられてきた祈りの跡が残されていた。道は狭いのに車の往来は絶えず、掲げられた浸水の記録がこの土地の歴史を静かに語る。鶴見川が大きく曲がる地形は、幾度も洪水に試されながら人々が暮らしてきた証なのだろう。専念寺に着くと、六地蔵がまとう布に般若心経が記され、風に揺れて光を受けていた。境内ではラベンダーやローズマリーの香りが漂い、墓地の一角は花畑として整えられ、命の循環を思わせる風景が広がっている。さらに辻には道祖神が佇み、村の境を守り、旅人を導いてきた役目を今も果たしていた。都市のざわめきと古い祈りが重なり合う場所を歩くことで、過去と現在が静かに交わる瞬間に立ち会った気がした。
