Look, they’re selling durians here too. They’re selling durians here as well. And over there too. They’re even selling durian ice cream here. Take a look, everyone. It looks like this inside. See? The crust has so many flaky layers. The meat filling is really good. Yeah, the filling’s great. Look. This durian is huge. Whoa, thunder just struck. Wow. People who love cooking always enjoy visiting areas like this. What do you think are the must-try dishes? Nasi Lemak (Coconut Milk Rice), right? And Bak Kut Teh. And that pancake. You know, the Indian-style flatbread. Those three are classics. The rest are pretty ordinary. Yeah, just average. In Malaysia, these three are the classics. So, for roti (Indian flatbread), as long as the cook is Indian, you can trust it’ll be good. It has that authentic Indian flavor. That real Indian flavor. Alright. 11 o’clock, OK. Google Translate is really handy, huh? Yeah, just type it in, and it translates instantly. We can understand what they’re saying. Right. Pretty convenient. Alright everyone, we’ve arrived at the hotel. We just finished checking in. Let’s show you around. This is the room we booked. Let’s do a quick room tour. The entrance has a mirror. And right away, there’s a big bed. They said it’s a king-size bed. Yeah, it’s king-sized. Even for two people, this bed is huge. Very spacious. Yeah. They don’t have twin beds here. Just one big bed. Right, right. There’s a TV right in front of the bed. And this area works like a desk. Yeah. The power outlets are underneath. Under the bed area, there are drawers too. Quite a large storage space. And over here— the safe is hidden here. So yes, there’s a safe. And everyone, everything’s controlled with a tablet. There’s a tablet here. Let’s see— you can open the curtains with it. It moves automatically. Feels quite high-tech. Yeah, very modern. All done through the tablet. So the view from this room is of the hotel interior, not the city view outside. And you can even control the bathroom lighting. It’s green right now, right? Yeah. Let’s change it to red. Or orangey red. Pretty fun. Yeah. You can control everything with this tablet. It’s really fun. Yeah, very cool. Alright everyone, next let’s check out the area by the sink. A small sink here. This area is for placing luggage. You can hang your clothes and bags here. Nice and simple. Over here is the restroom. The toilet. Right here. And there’s also a shower area. The shower’s inside. Yeah. Here’s a… Is this a fridge? It’s so cute! Yeah. It’s actually cold! You can chill some drinks in it. So everyone, this room we’re staying in today— this one here— yeah— it’s located in Bukit Bintang. That’s in Kuala Lumpur. It’s one of the liveliest areas. Jalan Alor Night Market is just behind us. Yeah. And the price per night is about— around 1,600 to 1,700 TWD. Yeah. For this environment, I think it’s pretty good. And plus— it comes with breakfast! Yeah! I think it’s worth it. Just a bit over 1,600 TWD. Yeah, yeah. What do you guys think? 1,600 something, with breakfast included, and located in a prime area— right. For two people, it’s totally fine. If you bring kids though, it might feel a bit small. Yeah, that’s true. Oh right, about the ride earlier— we took a Grab car. How much was it? It showed 75 ringgit when we booked. But then— when it charged us, it was actually 82 ringgit. So there’s an extra 7 ringgit, for the toll fees. Yeah. So everyone, basically, we took Grab straight from the airport, directly to our hotel here in Bukit Bintang. So that 82 ringgit ride is around 570 TWD. Price-wise, I think it’s pretty reasonable. Yeah. And since there are two of us sharing, it’s even better. Alright everyone— let’s take a short break, then we’ll head out to grab something to eat. Okay. Right outside the hotel, there’s a 7-Eleven. A convenience store. It’s quite convenient. There are two of them. And also a KK Mart. Yeah. And Jalan Alor is just behind us. Right here. Let’s go check it out over there. Let’s go. As soon as we walk over, we see stalls selling Black Thorn and Musang King durians. It’s fine. Let’s grab dinner first. Okay. Just walking by, you can already smell durian. The aroma’s so strong. Yeah. Really durian-y. Yeah. They’re selling durians up ahead too. And also here. At this time, it’s probably just starting up. Yeah, the night market’s just getting busy. It’s around 5 p.m. right now. Things are slowly becoming lively. Here near Bukit Bintang, Jalan Alor is definitely one of the must-visit night markets, right? Definitely. There are so many food stalls. And the street is super long. Yeah. It stretches all the way to the end. Our target today—the Hainanese chicken rice—is over there, right? Yeah, just go in from this side. Alright, let’s check it out. Okay. We found some online-recommended restaurants. We’re going to try a few. Let’s see if they’re really good. Yeah, let’s test them out. So it’s this one? Yes, this one right here. Alright, let’s go in. Okay, let’s go. Wow, everyone! All the dishes are here! They’re all served. We ordered the sambal squid. This one’s fried shrimp with salted egg yolk. Here’s the stir-fried water spinach. And this is the poached chicken. And roasted chicken. The rice for the Hainanese chicken rice comes like this. Yep. It even comes with two bowls of soup. And these drinks— that’s lime plum juice. And this one’s barley water. Right. When we arrived, the owner came over and helped us order. Because— we spoke Chinese. Yeah, he’s Chinese too. So he came over to help us order. And recommended a few dishes. Yeah. He said these were their specialties. Right, right. Alright, let’s dig in! Okay! Let’s start with the Hainanese chicken. Okay. This one still has bones in it. The chicken meat— when you bite into it, you get that aroma. Is that sesame oil? Or sesame fragrance? Maybe they brushed it on the chicken skin? Yeah, probably brushed onto the skin. The meat’s quite nice. But— I feel like it’s a bit different from the usual Hainanese chicken rice. Not quite the same. Usually the meat is more tender. Maybe because I ordered the chicken leg. So this one’s a bit firmer. Alright everyone, let me try this squid. It looks really good with that sauce. Is it the strong-flavored type? It looks like it would be. But it’s not overly salty. Still, it’s spicy. A nice level of heat. So it goes great with rice, huh? Yeah, perfect with rice. Oh really? I have to keep chewing, and the spiciness keeps coming out. Yeah, it keeps building up. I think this one’s pretty good too. It’s got that sweet, salty, and spicy combo. Sweet, salty, and spicy. This is a flavor you can’t really find back home. Yeah, something we can’t get over there. Wow. Xiaocai’s trying the roasted chicken. As expected, it’s chicken thigh meat—firm and chewy. The texture is more solid. Unlike the usual Hainanese chicken rice we’ve had before, where the meat is soft and tender, and smooth. This one’s quite different. Yeah, not the same. But I think the soy sauce they use here tastes really good. I’m wondering though— is it because we ordered the chicken leg? Or maybe their cooking style is just different? It’s definitely not like the usual Hainanese chicken rice we’ve eaten. Not quite the same. Water spinach! It feels like the kind stir-fried with shrimp paste. Like a Thai-style flavor. Let’s try it. Yup, it’s shrimp-paste water spinach. Really? I want some too. It’s quite spicy. Oh, really? Pretty tasty. It’s nicely stir-fried. It’s just past five now, and there are already quite a lot of people. It’ll be even busier at dinner time. We wanted to come early to avoid the crowd. Yeah. Alright, I’m going to try the salted egg-yolk prawns. Salted egg yolk. Salted egg yolk. That name already sounds delicious, right? If you like salted egg yolk, you’ll probably find this very fragrant. I can already smell it. Yeah, me too. These prawns are deep-fried until crispy. The shells too. They smell amazing, right? And the prawn meat inside is firm and bouncy. The texture’s great. But the salted egg yolk isn’t overly salty. So with that nice aroma, it balances perfectly. But it really depends on personal taste. For example, Dennis— he doesn’t eat it. He doesn’t like salted egg yolk. So if you like salted egg yolk or fried prawns, this is worth a try. So yeah, it really comes down to taste preference. Yeah. We’ve finished eating, everyone. Yeah, we’re full. Xiaocai, what did you think? Honestly, I was most looking forward to the Hainanese chicken rice. And it turns out— the chicken today was all quite firm. Maybe it’s the chicken breed? Or maybe just the part of the chicken we got. Personally, I prefer the softer, more tender style of Hainanese chicken. The ones we’ve had before were definitely on the tender side. So just for everyone’s reference. Everything else was pretty good though. How about you? I really liked the salted egg-yolk prawns and the shrimp-paste water spinach. Both were delicious. Yeah, I agree. So if you visit here, you should give them a try. If those flavors are your thing, definitely recommended. Yeah, give it a go. Alright, let’s walk it off a bit. Yeah, take a walk after eating. We ordered so much. Yeah. That grilled meat smells amazing. It looks so good too. But you’re already full—can you still eat? No way. I can’t eat anymore. Nope, my stomach can’t take it all at once. Yeah, impossible. Limited stomach space. We’ll come back and try more next time. Sure! Yeah. We’re back again. Yeah, back again. Jalan Alor. It looks even busier than before. Yeah, more and more people now. For sure. I just checked the time— it’s 6:40 p.m. Thank you, thank you! Thanks, thanks! The people at the stir-fry stalls— they’re all so enthusiastic. Yeah! Can you all feel it? It’s way more crowded now compared to earlier. Totally different vibe. Much livelier now. And it’ll probably get even busier later. Yeah. Every seat is filled, right? Packed with people. We just walked out from the alley at the far end. Look, they’re selling durians here too. And here as well. Over there too. And durian ice cream here! Everywhere you look, people are selling durians. I really want to eat some. But the problem is— I’m still super full from dinner. I can’t eat anymore. Otherwise, I definitely wouldn’t pass this up. Seriously. It’s okay, we’ll be here for a few days. Whenever we see some, we can just grab one to eat. Alright, I’ll try it again in a couple of days. I’ll show you the local durian then. Luo Han Guo (Monk Fruit). Longan, huh? You want it cold? Yes, cold, cold please. Five ringgit. Five ringgit, huh? Okay. Here, twenty ringgit. This is so special. Yeah. They also have ginseng chrysanthemum tea. And Wong Lo Kat (herbal tea). So many varieties—I want to try them all. Let’s just buy one bottle first. Yeah, just one for now. Since our hotel is right here, we can always come back for more later. Yeah, that’s right. Hey, it’s actually pretty good. You can really taste the longan. It has that smoky dried-longan flavor. And look, everyone— check this out. There are actual dried longan pieces inside. The fruit pulp. Yeah, you can see the pulp. But the thing is— I can’t really taste the monk fruit. The longan flavor dominates it. But overall, it’s actually delicious. Yeah, it’s really good. Is it too sweet? Not too sweet. I think it’s just right. This place looks more like a small grocery shop. Yeah, an old-style grocery shop. Do you have cold drinks? 4.9 ringgit. Wow, this one— Meow meow! Oh! It’s huge! 4.9. So big! The one you bought at the airport was smaller. Yeah. And the airport one cost like— 3.9 ringgit. This big one is only 4.9! Okay, let’s get the big bottle. Yeah. KK Mart even has its own KK-branded water. Nice. Then let’s buy that one. Yeah, let’s get it. Alright everyone, we’re back at the hotel. Yeah. The hotel lobby here— it’s actually quite spacious. Feels pretty comfortable. Here, let’s show everyone the lobby. The usable space is quite large actually. But everyone, today we’ve really— because we took an early morning flight, we had to get to the airport pretty early. Yeah, I barely slept last night. Basically didn’t sleep at all. So we’ll stop here for today. Battery’s running low. We’ll continue tomorrow. Recharge and fight again! Yeah. Alright. Okay everyone, we’ve arrived. Here we are! There are two Bak Kut Teh shops here. Bak Kut Teh! That one over there seems to have air conditioning. And I think it even says— “Michelin Recommended.” Let’s give that one a try. Yeah, let’s do it. Alright, OK. Let’s go. So they’re open only until— 3:30 p.m. 3:30, right. “Two guests, please go upstairs.” We’re going to the second floor. Thank you! Alright everyone, we’re here. This is Bak Kut Teh. Yeah. We added some extras inside— like tofu skin and enoki mushrooms. Yeah, extra toppings. Yep. They cook it all together in the pot. There’s pork ribs, and this looks like pork belly. Yeah, three-layer meat. That’s ribs. Yep. Maybe the soft-bone cut. Soft cartilage meat. We ordered the small size, right? Yes. The small portion is about this much. Maybe if you add more toppings, they give you a bigger pot. This one is the peppery pork stomach soup. Pepper pig stomach. Yeah. Quite a lot of stomach too. Yeah. And there’s stir-fried eggplant. And fried dough sticks (youtiao). Also, just so you know— the rice bowl is huge. So we ordered one to share. They split it into two bowls for us. Half each. Otherwise we’d never finish it. Yeah, the rice portion’s really big. Right. Alright, let’s dig in. Let’s eat! It’s that kind of flavor— I think it smells really nice. The soup has that sweet herbal aftertaste. You can taste the herbs. Yeah. The meat itself— has that natural pork flavor. No strong herbal taste in the meat. Alright, let me try this piece. Yeah, that’s true. The flavor of the meat— is quite natural. Yeah. It’s not like those that are stewed for a long time where the flavor seeps in deeply. Right. But the soup flavor is stronger. Yeah. Yeah. Not bad. Alright, let’s try the next dish. I’ll go for this one— the stir-fried eggplant. It’s marked as “recommended” on the menu. Looks really nice. Deep-fried first. This kind of fried-eggplant dish— it’s hard to make at home. Smells so good! And the eggplant is really soft and tender. They also stir-fried it with minced meat and shrimp. The aroma of the eggplant with the minced meat goes perfectly together. Tastes great. Yeah, really good. My favorite—pig stomach. Yeah. Whenever there’s pig stomach on the menu, I have to order it. The soup here— you can see it’s more of a milky white color. Yeah. That’s because of the strong white pepper flavor. It really stands out. It’s quite similar to the one we had in Singapore— Song Fa Bak Kut Teh. Yeah, exactly! That same kind of peppery-heavy flavor. Right. The taste is very similar. The pig stomach is tender now. Really tasty. Here, everyone—take a look. You should try a piece too. Oh, it’s quite crunchy! Delicious. Yummy. Yeah, I think this one’s really good. They also stir-fried it with shrimp paste— honestly, it’s amazing. This dish is great. Yeah. Just a little on the oily side though. Yeah, a bit oily. It feels like a hot pot! Yeah, it does. Because this Bak Kut Teh— they add lots of ingredients in it. It’s kind of like a Bak Kut Teh hot pot. Except instead of the usual hot pot broth, it’s replaced with a herbal soup base. It has that sweet herbal aftertaste. Mild and smooth. Yeah, yeah. And what’s interesting— they even use pork belly. Yeah, right. So it really feels like a Bak Kut Teh hot pot. Exactly. Now this herbal tea— let me give it a try. This herbal tea is quite sweet. Sweet, huh? Yeah, kind of like brown sugar. That brown-sugar flavor. Here, try this one— this Pu’er tea, see if it’s sweet. Yours isn’t sweet at all. It’s unsweetened. Yeah, no sugar. So if you come here and don’t like sweet drinks, don’t order this one. Yeah, skip it. Don’t get the herbal tea. Order the Pu’er tea instead. Thank you. Thanks a lot. 114.5 ringgit. Okay. Alright everyone, we’re done eating. And finished paying too. Yeah. The total bill just now was 114.5 ringgit. Which comes to about roughly 800 New Taiwan Dollars. Yeah. I think that’s a fair price. Yeah, pretty reasonable. I think all the dishes were really delicious. The Bak Kut Teh— the soup was also very good. The only thing probably was— yeah— that black sugar drink. Other than that, everything was fine. Pretty good overall. My 2-ringgit Pu’er tea was also really nice. If anyone’s interested— you should come and try it yourself. Let’s head to our next stop. Alright, the sun’s out now. Let’s go for a walk. Yeah, let’s go. Walking after a meal feels nice. A stroll after eating. Yeah, walk it off. It’s so pleasant walking under the trees. Super comfortable. Yeah, totally. What are you looking at, Xiaocai? That tree? Yeah, I’m looking at this tree. Its trunk actually— isn’t that thick. But its branches— spread out in every direction. See? So lush and full. It’s really relaxing to look at. Yeah. Our hearts should be like this tree— open and growing outward. Stretch out and expand. Stretch yourself wide open. Yeah. It’s such a beautiful tree. Yeah, it’s really pretty. If you come here and see it in person, you’ll understand why we said it’s beautiful. It keeps spreading its branches, constantly exploring the world. We should be the same. Yeah, just like that. Let’s all open up together. Come on, everyone! Stretch out! You’re growing so well! So full of life. This shopping mall here— it’s quite similar to the ones in Singapore. Yeah, kind of similar. Very similar. Even the vibe reminds me of Changi Airport, right? Yeah, that’s right. Oh, a barber shop! 80 ringgit. 80 ringgit—that’s about 560 TWD. Not too bad. You just got a haircut though. Yeah, not many hairs left to cut anyway… Sorry everyone— I don’t have much hair left. Can’t really give you a demo. If I cut it again, it’ll be a buzz cut! Yeah, seriously. For real. I can see why so many people love this. It’s actually kind of cute. Really? Is it from an anime or something? Or what is it? I’m not really sure. I just know that a lot of people are crazy about it. People here are really friendly. We were still figuring out— what the price difference was, and the staff came right over to explain that it’s based on quantity. Quantity difference. That’s great. I immediately understood the price difference. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Good service. Yeah, very good service. The department stores here— they feel quite different from the ones in Taiwan. Very different vibe. It’s spacious, and there’s a huge variety of stores. And every booth is beautifully designed. When you walk through here— it’s massive. We just came from over there, and look—it gets even bigger. This shopping mall is huge. If you come here, you really should check it out. Look at this. See that? You could shop for half a day and not finish. Yeah, for sure. This is the supermarket. Their supermarket is huge! Wow, it’s the supermarket inside the department store! Wanna take a look? Yeah, shall we? Sure, I know you really want to shop. Tiny apples for 10 ringgit! We don’t have these in Taiwan. Nope, never seen them before. So special! Yeah, they’re so cute. At first, I thought they were plums— or maybe peaches or something. They really look like it. People who love cooking would love this section the most. All these seasonings here. I heard their egg tarts are quite famous. Yeah. Let’s get two—one each and give them a try. Alright, we got them! We just bought quite a few things, everyone. We got egg tarts—these are really famous. They’re part of the “Huayang Three Treasures.” Along with their iced pineapple bun with butter and coffee. But honestly, I can’t eat that much. So I’m going straight for the main item. Picked just one treasure to try. Yeah, yeah. Because I love egg tarts the most—I can’t skip this one. Right, Cheers’ favorite is egg tarts. Take a look, everyone. This is how it looks inside. The crust looks like puff pastry, right? Yeah, it’s nice and flaky. Not like the usual tart crust. Yeah, totally different. Look at all those layers of pastry. Not too sweet. Oh, that’s good then. Yeah, this is delicious. No wonder there were so many customers just now. Yeah, it was really crowded. We wanted to sit down and eat— but there were just too many people. And you had to order a full set. We couldn’t finish it all. Yeah, way too much food. When Xiaocai took half of my tart— the crust was so flaky— it crumbled right in her hand. Yeah, exactly. This is exactly the kind I love. Super flaky pastry. And the filling inside— you can really taste the egg, but it’s not overly sweet. Would you say the filling’s on the firm side? Yeah, it’s a bit firmer in texture. So tasty, right? Yeah, really good. I’d definitely buy this again. You still have one more, right? Yeah, one left. That one’s yours. Everyone, after finishing this— I’ll definitely come back for more. It’s really good. Delicious. So good. Next up, the beef pastry. Okay. Let’s try the beef pastry right now. Alright everyone, this one here— is beef. And this one’s chicken. Freshly made pastries. We just saw them kneading the dough over there— it looked so tempting. Really appealing. Yeah. Alright, Cheers will take a bite for everyone. Here we go. This is my specialty. I’m a pro at this. Alright then. The crust is super crispy. I saw them rolling it layer after layer earlier. So it has a lot of texture and layers. The meat filling’s great too. Yeah, very good filling. This one costs 6.5 ringgit— so about 45 Taiwan dollars each. The crust is nice and crisp. And it’s packed with meat inside. Yeah, full of meat. Totally worth the price. Right now, we’re sitting in the department store’s basement dining area, I think. Yeah. It’s really spacious inside. It’s really big. Everyone can come here. If you buy food, you can sit down and eat here. Take a short break. Yeah. How’s the chicken one? I can totally feel what you meant about the crispy crust. Right? Yeah, the pastry is super flaky. Crispy and light. Thin and crunchy. Exactly, thin and crisp. The texture feels different from the egg tart. The egg tart was purely flaky, while this one is more crunchy and crispy. The chicken filling is generous too. Yeah, quite a lot of filling. Mine costs 5.5 ringgit. One ringgit cheaper than yours. Tasty. I think it’s really worth it. These meat pies— both beef and chicken— are great because they’re freshly made. Freshly made, yeah. Served hot. Piping hot. So everyone, when you visit this department store, remember this— the egg tart and the two meat pies, you should definitely try them. Alright, everyone— we just got back from the department store. Took a little rest, and now we’re heading out again for dinner. Meanwhile, Xiaocai’s been snacking on jerky. Almost finished it all! This is from the night market on Jalan Alor yesterday. You probably saw us buying it there— freshly grilled meat jerky. Charcoal-grilled jerky. Yeah, it’s actually quite good. It’s made from whole slices of meat, not ground meat. Not the minced kind. Yeah, not minced. We bought the whole-meat version. Yeah. Mine’s the spicy one. Right. We actually bought two spicy versions. One is black pepper flavor. Yeah, this one’s the black pepper one. And Xiaocai’s is the spicy flavor. Both the black pepper and spicy ones are great. Both taste really good. Yeah, they’re all tasty. But the original flavor— when we tried it on-site, it was just okay. Yeah, right. Exactly. The seasoning is slightly sweet with a hint of spice. And the jerky isn’t too hard. It still retains some moisture. So overall, it’s pretty good. Yeah. The black pepper one too. It really depends on your taste. Yeah. If you go there yourself, they’ll let you sample it. You can try it first, and buy if you like it. Also, the one we bought— 300 grams— can be split into two flavors. Right. So check it out when you visit. Also— that Jalan Alor area— yeah— it’s mostly full of tourists. All tourists, really. And I think some of the prices are a bit on the higher side. Since it’s a tourist area, the rent and overhead must be high. So the prices are too. Naturally, the food there is a little more expensive. Compared to the Hainanese chicken rice we had at New Chee Meng, the prices were quite different. Yeah. But since we’re already here, might as well try. Yeah, check everything out. People say this place is famous— so I wanted to see why. Just walk around. Take a look around. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Just choose what you want to eat. Pick and decide for yourself. Yeah. Alright. Now we’re heading out for dinner. Dinner time. Yeah. Let’s pack up and head out. Alright, okay. Alright everyone— our dishes have arrived. And take a look here. Mine is the garlic cheese one. You can see the garlic spread on top. Yeah, yeah. It also has a bit of sauce added. Two side dishes. Yours should be naan bread. And yours? Mine’s roti. It’s kind of like— an Indian-style flatbread wrap. Mine’s the double cheese version. It comes with two veggie sides and a sauce in the middle. We also ordered a lamb dish— Masala lamb— plus coconut water, and my yogurt drink here. Yogurt. It’s basically like a lassi. Xiaocai already took a sip earlier. Yeah, yeah. I was worried— worried I wouldn’t dare drink it. But it’s actually pretty good! Alright, let’s dig in. Okay, let’s try it. Alright everyone, I’ll take the first bite. Hot? Yeah, it’s hot, hot, hot! It’s a bit stretchy, right? Yeah, look at that cheese pull! The flavor’s really good. It tastes great with the sauce. There’s that spice aroma. Yeah, like— that distinctive Indian spice flavor. Yeah, exactly. Even just the sauce tastes great. You could eat it just with the sauce! Is the bread chewy? Yeah, it’s chewy. And also— you can really taste the cheese inside, and the garlic aroma. The fragrance! This bread itself is quite soft and flexible. It’s got elasticity. Ours are actually different types of bread. Yeah. Mine’s roti, kind of like the Indian pancakes you see at night markets— stuffed with banana and condensed milk. Yeah, kind of like that. Let me show you how it tastes. Okay. It all looks delicious. They’re all freshly made, right? Yeah. Freshly made bread. So cheesy! Yeah! Let me try too. I think our sauces are the same. Yeah, probably the same. The man at the next table also ordered the same set. He had four pieces of bread, and that was enough for a full meal. Yeah, exactly. Right. Not bad at all. I also want to try the vegetables. Okay. Is this potato? Let me sneak a bite. Potato! It’s packed with spice flavor too. Yeah, very aromatic. This one has a strong cumin taste. Not sure if ours are the same. I’m curious. We’ll know once we try both. Okay. So this one here— it’s chickpeas inside. See? Seasoned with spices too. But this one’s a bit salty. It goes perfectly with the bread. Yeah, best eaten together with the bread. But now I kinda want to try— this one! Yeah. We specially ordered this lamb dish. Lamb masala. It looks absolutely amazing. So these are lamb chops with bones? Yeah. The lamb flavor is actually quite strong. So it’s got a distinct “lamby” aroma. A bit on the heavier side. But not too overpowering. You can definitely taste it right away. The flavor overall— is like a lamb curry. But it’s a bit saltier. Yeah, a bit more on the salty side. This one’s also meant to be eaten with the bread. Yeah, it tastes just right when paired with the bread. Because the one you had earlier was also quite salty. Yeah, that one too. But if you dip the sauce directly like this— it’s not too salty. The sauce itself tastes a bit lighter. Yeah, more refreshing. Exactly. Right. I just noticed behind Cheers— there’s a big photo on the wall— that long rolled-up bread, see? Yeah. A lot of people take photos of that. It’s really popular with influencers. Because it’s huge and looks great on camera. But our local Malaysian friends told us— they actually think the naan here tastes way better. Yeah, they said these Indian flatbreads— especially naan— taste much better. Right. And when we got here earlier, we saw someone order that giant rolled-up bread. Yeah, yeah. And just like our friends said— it crumbles really easily, so it doesn’t taste that great. They didn’t even finish it. It got cleared away halfway. Seems like it’s mainly just for taking pictures. Yeah, looks good for photos. Exactly. So if you actually want to eat, the naan or Indian bread is the better choice. It tastes better. The side dishes are quite salty too. If you eat them on their own, they’re super salty, right? You have to pair them with the bread. But they all have very strong spice flavors. If you enjoy Indian spices, you’ll like this. It’s an experience, really. A tasting experience. Alright everyone, we’re done eating. What did you think? The bread was fine. But my plate— the vegetable side dishes— were quite salty. Honestly, after finishing, we felt a bit disappointed. Even though online, many reviews say it’s delicious— in reality, I think the bread itself is good. The naan is not bad. Yeah. But the side dishes— like the beans and potatoes— were really salty with heavy spices. The lamb masala was also salty. Yeah, so everyone— if you don’t like salty food, maybe skip this one. Yeah, I’d say— if you just want to try it once, go ahead— but if there’s a long line… Since it’s open 24 hours— yeah— maybe come when it’s not crowded. If you really want to experience it, come later when it’s quieter. Yeah, that’s right. Even though— this place was recommended online— to be honest— it’s just for reference. Yeah. Based on what we actually tasted— that’s our honest impression. Many people come here just to take photos with that giant thin bread. Most visitors come for the pictures. But after taking photos, just like our friends said— it’s not that tasty. Some people don’t even finish it— and it gets cleared away. Yeah. If you just want photos, sure, come and try it out. But we’re just sharing our real experience with everyone. Yeah. Alright, that’s it for now. Okay. One hour. Seventy-three ringgit. One person? Just one person. OK, OK, OK. Yeah, yeah. Alright, thank you. Thank you! Thanks! Alright everyone— it’s currently their prayer time, so we can’t eat right now. They’re taking a one-hour break. So we’ll come back in an hour. Yeah. Let’s walk around nearby first. Okay. That sound— the singing and prayer chant— comes from that tower. So basically, it’s like a loudspeaker. Yeah, a broadcast speaker. You all know what a loudspeaker is, right? Yeah, it’s basically a loudspeaker. They probably broadcast the prayer from there. Like how temples do it— from that tower. Someone recites, and it’s broadcast out loud. So the whole area can hear it. That’s probably how it works. We’re not totally sure though. Yeah, not entirely sure. Nope, not sure. So this must be one of their local centers. Like a gathering spot. People keep walking inside. Hi! Hi, hello Malaysian kitty! Hello there! You’re being petted by a Taiwanese kitty. Oh, we’ve arrived. The market! I even see Mickey! Mickey! Mickey’s over there! A cat market — your favorite kind of place. And we’re seeing so many vegetables we don’t recognize. Yeah. Wow, it’s really full of local character. It is! That’s mountain bitter melon — I know that one. Looks like they’re starting to pack up now. Yeah, looks like closing time. Wow, it’s really long! It stretches so far ahead! It’s truly a huge traditional market. That area was all vegetables— and this whole section is fruits. There’s another zone over there— selling chicken and fish— stuff like that. Yeah, yeah. Everything’s neatly separated. Not all mixed together in chaos — nope. Very organized. Yeah, like if you want fish or chicken, go there— if you want fruits and veggies, come here. Right. So this area doesn’t have any fishy smell. It’s all fresh produce. See, this whole section— is just fruit vendors. If we lived here, we’d buy tons of fruit to take home. Yeah, too bad we can’t. Whenever I see a market, I want to buy things. This looks good, that looks good. Just wanna try everything. When you’ve never seen these before, it’s tempting to try. Yeah, exactly. What a pity. Such a pity. This area only has fruits— no veggies in sight. No fish vendors either. Just fruit stalls. A grocery shop! Yeah! So many snacks for kids. And plenty for grown-ups too. Adults can eat them too! This whole row here— is filled with grocery and dry-goods shops. The whole street, actually. They even sell peanuts here— and mung beans. This whole area’s a specialty zone. Each section has its focus. This one’s for groceries and dried goods. Dried goods, yeah. It’s divided into clear zones like this— so it’s easy to find what you need. Super easy! Very clear layout. Not like in Taiwan where everything’s all mixed together. Vendors set up wherever they want. You just have to search. Not like that here. You can see all the stalls at a glance. Makes shopping easy. Yeah, yeah, exactly. I really wanna come back here someday— and shop properly. Maybe stay here for a bit. If we get the chance— let’s do a little long-stay. Stay for a month or two, maybe? That sounds great. Don’t you think so, everyone? It’d be nice to experience— a month or two of local living. A slow-living lifestyle. It’d be a great experience. We’re back in the veggie section now. Yeah, back to the vegetable stalls. All vegetables here. That stall hasn’t even opened yet and already has a line! The locals know the timing perfectly— when each vendor opens. So they start lining up early. Wow, durian cendol! And that’s mango cendol! It’s their version of shaved ice. Yeah! Alright everyone— Our first stop was actually supposed to be “Nasi Lemak Bungkus” for breakfast. But instead, our first stop became— durian cendol! Because they happened to be praying at that time. Right during prayer hour. So after we finish this, we’ll head back later— to eat the nasi lemak. Look everyone—this stall here, has people lining up before it even opens! It’s just 1 PM, and look around— so many people are already eating here. It must be really good — let’s look forward to it. Yeah, alright. Let’s give it a try first. Mine’s the mango cendol. And mine’s durian cendol. Guys— if you’re having durian, this is the way to do it. Perfect! Let’s try it for everyone. Wow, so good! It’s icy cold and refreshing. The weather here is quite hot. This is made with crushed ice— and some coconut milk maybe? Not sure, maybe coconut cream? It’s really good. And look, it has these green jelly-like strands— like noodles. Let me try. That’s the cendol, right? Yup, cendol! There’s even some corn on the side. It all blends together so smoothly. No wonder it’s so popular. Delicious! Nice! Full of coconut aroma. And icy texture too. So refreshing. Because earlier we were walking around— in the market for a while. Now having this icy dessert feels amazing. So satisfying. This flavor is truly unique. You can’t find this in Taiwan. Look at that— that’s a big chunk of durian! I’m gonna try that first. Go for it. Let’s see if the quality’s good. Not bad! Pretty good actually. The durian is very fragrant. Not sure which variety this is— but it tastes great. Tastes great — that’s what matters! Yours was RM18, right? Mine was RM6. So together, RM24 in total. Durian makes it pricier. Local durians here aren’t exactly cheap. Right, not at all. But if you visit during summer break— that’s the harvest season, so it’s cheaper. Yeah, when it’s in full season. Exactly. From what we’ve seen these few days— the prices are a bit higher now. But still much cheaper than in Taiwan. True. Alright everyone, I’m really enjoying this— gonna take my time with this shaved ice. It’s scorching hot out right now. Super hot outside. To truly understand it— you’ve got to come taste it yourself. Seriously! This cendol— is really something special. You can’t find this back home. The green noodles are made with pandan leaves— which we call “xianglan” in Taiwan. Pandan has that distinctive sweet aroma. They mix it with mung bean flour to make it. Maybe we can even recreate it ourselves. Make homemade cendol at home! What’s great about this one— is that the shaved ice uses— coconut milk and palm sugar syrup. Unlike the brown sugar syrup— we usually use in Taiwan. It’s a different kind of sweetness. Much more fragrant. Even if you add a bit too much, it’s not overly sweet. Really tasty overall. So refreshing and cooling. If you visit, you must try this. You absolutely have to! Cendol is a must-try. Try it from different stalls if you can. If you’re not planning to eat— a whole durian outside, like the big ones they sell— because it’s too much to finish alone— just order this dessert. You still get real durian on top. That one big chunk— is enough to satisfy your cravings. Only RM18 — totally worth it! I kind of want another drink! It just looks too tempting. Yeah, totally. Even their takeaway cups look amazing. Alright everyone, we’ve arrived! The “closed” sign is gone — we can finally eat! It’s open for dining in now! Let’s eat inside! Alright everyone, our food’s all here! Yep! Wow — one plate per person. One plate each. And one drink each, too. I ordered chicken and beef. And you, Xiaocai? I got fried chicken and lamb. And a piece of tempeh. Yup! Hey, your chicken looks a bit saucy! Yeah, I think it’s the spicy one. Nice choice — that looks good. I’ll try that later. The rice looks really fluffy. This rice— has a strong coconut aroma. Really? The rice is quite special. It’s good! This one looks so good! That’s the fried chicken thigh piece. The outside of the chicken— smells a bit gingery. Yeah, there’s definitely ginger flavor. It’s savory and aromatic. The seasoning is so different from Taiwan’s. Makes eating it so fun, right? Yeah! Exactly. You’re right, Meow! It really has that— probably because it’s thigh meat, it’s really juicy. Not bad at all. Try it with this sauce— and the rice together. Not sure what this sauce tastes like though. So, how is it? Sweet and spicy! It gets spicier as it goes! Yeah — that aftertaste kicks in. Right? It keeps building! Wow, this flavor’s really nice. The nasi lemak flavor is so distinct. And the rice itself— has that coconut fragrance. Makes every bite feel rich. And that spice at the end— I really like it. So good. Really tasty! I was surprised by how fragrant the rice was too. It’s so aromatic! So does that mean your chicken is also cooked in chili sauce? I think so. Yeah, probably. When I saw it that red, I said “I want that one!” Actually, it’s not that spicy. Is it sweet instead? Yeah, a bit sweet. More of a sweet sauce. You can tell it’s fried first— so it’s quite dry— then coated with sauce afterward. Exactly! That gives it that crispy, fried aroma. This one’s delicious too. Yeah, not bad at all. And business is booming! It’s packed inside— so many customers! Everyone, it’s already past 2 PM now. Yeah, around two something. When we came around one o’clock— they were having prayers. All the people inside the shop disappeared! Yeah! As we walked along the market street, most of the stalls were empty. Everyone had gone to the mosque. They were all carrying cloths— or mats. Probably for kneeling on the floor. Yeah, probably. Maybe so. We didn’t quite understand it at first. But after 2 PM— everything opened again! And look — people started flooding back in. Business is really good here. And the food’s delicious too. Nasi lemak! So good! Look over there— they even have an air-conditioned room. It costs 1 ringgit per person to sit inside. Then you can eat in the AC room. But honestly, it’s not too hot out here. Pretty breezy actually. Yeah. There are ceiling fans blowing above us. Right. Still — nice to have options. True! So for our meal just now— the total was about RM43. Yeah. That’s roughly equivalent to— around 300 Taiwan dollars. We each ordered a rice plate. Both with double main dishes. And a drink each. So overall— the price is pretty reasonable. Totally fine. About 150 NT per person— and it’s a really filling meal. The meat portions are generous. But for the side dishes— the spices tend to be a bit salty. You really have to eat them with rice. So I might’ve over-ordered on the mains. Ran out of rice too soon! Same here. My lamb curry tastes a lot like the masala we had last night. Pretty similar flavor. The sauce outside— is especially salty. Really strong saltiness. But last night’s was even saltier! Yeah, that one was stronger. This one’s a bit milder in comparison. The flavor’s quite unique though. Still tasty. Yeah, delicious. The sauce goes perfectly with the rice. And ordering food here is fun— it’s like a buffet. You just point to what you want. Even if you don’t speak the language, just point! Yeah, they’ll understand what you mean. Alright everyone, we’re full. Let’s go walk around a bit. Okay, let’s go! Everyone, we’ve arrived— at the Twin Towers? Yes, Petronas Twin Towers! We parked here, so we’re seeing them from the side. You can only see one tower from this angle. Yup. We’ve only ever seen them— on TV or in magazines before. Just in photos. This is our first time seeing them in person! Alright everyone, let’s walk around nearby. Just wander around a bit. Take a stroll. Everyone— let me show you the Twin Towers. Yup! We walked closer now— and you can see the full view. See? You’ve got to come to this plaza area. Right here in front— there’s a big open square. Look, there are so many people taking photos here! Wow — look at that! Now you can see both towers clearly. These Twin Towers— most towers are single structures. But this one — it’s two! Exactly. Finally fulfilling a long-time dream to see it. Yeah. Seeing it with your own eyes— feels totally different from photos. Totally different — yes. They’re really towering and grand. Yeah, massive. Since we’re in Kuala Lumpur already— it’s definitely worth coming here in person. Totally agree. Whoa — thunder just struck! Whoa! Looks like a big storm is coming. Alright, let’s hurry and head inside! It’s raining! It’s raining! We ran inside. Let’s stay indoors to avoid the rain. Looks like there’s a shopping mall ahead? Yeah, a mall. Suria KLCC! Let’s go inside and take a look. Musang King durian mooncakes! Frozen Musang King flavor. So even Musang King can be made into mooncakes? Apparently yes! Malaysia really is amazing. Musang King is everywhere here! Exactly. Yesterday at that other mall— we met someone who recommended us to try Musang King snacks. Yeah. It was freeze-dried, right? Yes, freeze-dried. They made the durian into dried fruit. Durian fruit chips. Exactly. Packed in small bags. Pressed flat like— cookies. Pretty interesting. But the flavor was much milder. Yeah. They kept promoting it, saying— “Buy two, get one free!” “Buy three, get two free!” But at that time— it was only our first day. So we couldn’t buy too many things yet. We’ll buy souvenirs at the end of the trip. We’ll see later. Maybe we’ll find something interesting. This supermarket is huge. Yeah. It’s super big. There’s more in the back too. Yeah, more behind. Right. It’s so wide and spacious! Yeah! The whole place is a supermarket! You can even make your own salad here. Takeaway salads! Feels like this one’s a— high-end supermarket. It’s under the Twin Towers after all. Of course it’s high-end. Yeah, true! Exactly. They even have Wagyu beef! Yeah! Right here! That piece looks perfect. That one’s the best cut. Looks amazing. You want yogurt? Yes. This one — mango flavor. This one — mixed fruit. One for each of us. Okay. One yogurt drink each. Alright. Hey look, they even have big bottles! I love the big ones! We should totally get the big one. How much is it? Seven ringgit. Seven. This smaller one is four. Then get the big one! Yeah, switch to this! Knowing me— I’d always pick the biggest size! This one’s good, yeah. Should we go with mango? Yeah, mango — let’s do mango. Two small bottles— cost more than one big one! So obviously we’ll take the big one. Of course. These are pistachios. And those are macadamia nuts. Macadamias! Yeah, macadamias. Still in their shells! This place is really huge inside. We’ve walked so much our legs are sore. You could get lost here! Yeah! Alright everyone— we’re walking back to our hotel now. Sometimes we like doing this— just walking slowly. That way we can see— more of the city surroundings. Get a feel for the area. So walking’s actually pretty nice. Sometimes when we take Grab— we realize some places aren’t that far. Maybe within two kilometers from our hotel. Yeah, like a little over a kilometer. So walking is totally fine. We get a little exercise too. And we get to see more things. When you walk like this— you notice details of the surroundings. It’s really different from seeing it through a car window. Totally different experience. When you drive, everything passes in a flash. But walking — you can actually feel it. You can smell cigarette smoke from people nearby. And hear the sounds of traffic all around you. Sometimes you’ll spot restaurants— or little food stalls— or small shops along the way. When you walk past them— you can see everything clearly. You can even stop and take a look. Yeah, exactly. And along the roadside— we even saw a food street market. Full of dining tables inside. And a huge durian stall outside! You only notice these things when you walk. Exactly. Yeah. So our 4 days, 3 nights trip— is coming to an end today. What do you guys think of our trip? All the food we had, and the expenses— overall I think it’s quite affordable, right? When we ate, you saw the prices shown beside the dishes. They’re all on screen. We’ve shown them to everyone. Let’s quickly recap a bit. Our flights this time— round trip— cost about 19,000 NTD. For two people. Round trip 19,000 total. And for accommodation— our hotel this time cost— about 1,600 NTD. Right. 1,600 per night. Though the room wasn’t very big— the location was quite good. Yeah. It’s right near Jalan Alor and Bukit Bintang. That’s a lively area. Very lively indeed. Super convenient. It’s right here in this lively area. Very bustling! Yeah, exactly. So the location is actually quite good. For just 1,600 NTD a night, I think it’s a great deal. Totally worth it. After all, we’re just here to sleep and rest. Get a good night’s rest. And compared to Singapore— Malaysia is much cheaper. If you go to Singapore— it’s way more expensive. When we went two years ago— yeah, the price difference was huge. Even though it’s just next door. Singapore’s expenses are really high. But here— everything feels much more affordable. Even accommodation and meals. Exactly. Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia— yet the costs here are even lower than traveling in Taiwan. Cheaper than domestic travel back home! Especially for hotels. Right. Because this one’s only 1,600 NTD. In Taiwan, we’d easily pay double. Around 3,000 on average. Yeah. Compared to Taipei City— you can’t find a hotel for 1,600 a night there. Not possible at all. No way. Exactly. And for daily expenses— everything here is really affordable. But after eating around these few days— when it comes to meals, I did notice something. The food tastes great— but some dishes are a bit salty. Yeah, some are slightly on the salty side. For me too. But overall, the food is delicious. Yes, overall it’s really good. Yeah, exactly. After all, Southeast Asian flavors— are quite different from Taiwanese ones. Very different. Yeah, exactly. But I think this trip has been great overall. A fun adventure. Yes. Alright everyone— that wraps up our 4 days, 3 nights trip! We’ve shared the costs and— our travel experience. Everything with you guys. And we’ve been honest about what tastes good and what doesn’t. Did you all enjoy it? Yeah! It was great! We really recommend it. So if you’re planning a trip to Malaysia— you can use this as reference! Exactly. We’ll also put all the places we visited— in the video description below. Check the info section! You can take a look and plan your own trip. If you enjoyed our video— don’t forget to like it! And share it with your friends. Yes! Your likes let us know that you enjoyed it. That’s right! If you liked it— we’ll plan the next one! Maybe to Penang, or— Melaka (Malacca)! So exciting, right? Or maybe Ipoh! So many great places to visit. Exactly! If you think it’s great—give us a like! Yes! Alright then, see you in our next video! Okay! Goodbye! Bye bye! Bye bye!

Paradise Restaurant
