I have been going to hot spring towns a lot lately, but this is my first time coming to Shima Onsen. I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of inn it is this time. Let’s take a look at it together. Don’t forget to subscribe to the channel. Good morning everyone. We arrived at the inn safely . It has the atmosphere of a long-established store.Also , there are many tourists from overseas.The hot springs are popular, after all.I would like to check in immediately and look at the room.The room this time is room 702 . Now, I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of room it will be.Then , when the door is open, it’s a very simple, purely Japanese-style Japanese room.Ryokan Tamura was founded in 1563 during the Muromachi period.This has been passed down from generation to generation since then . This is an inn that is still in very good condition.This Ryokan Tamura is a ryokan that is full of history.I hope to be able to tell you more about it later.This room is a Japanese-style room at Kinyokan. The area is about 10 tatami mats.This time, I made a reservation through Rakuten Travel, and it will be for 1 night and 2 days starting on Sunday.It was 31,200 yen for two people, including a buffet in the evening and a course meal in the morning.As a bonus, I was staying at the Grand Hotel. We also give you a bathing passport. The regular price is 1,100 yen per person, so I think it’s a good value for money.I booked it on short notice, so there were no rooms available, but there are also special rooms with indoor baths.I’m curious. If you are interested, please check the hotel homepage in the overview section.After that, I would like to have some tea and go for a walk around the hotel.First , I would like to take a look at the lobby on the first floor. First of all, I would like to tell you that since the entire inn is large, it will be difficult to explain everything verbally. Be sure to check out the official website. Let ‘s take a walk and get a glimpse of history. Ryokan Tamura was founded in 1563 during the Muromachi period, and during the Warring States period, a hot spring gushing out from the Shimanto River was discovered, and it became a hot spring inn. The main building of Tamura , which is said to have originated from the time when the company started , is located inside the building. The back is one step higher, and there is a shoin-style “upper room” where those of higher rank rested.In front of that , there remains a room called “naka no ma” where the servants waited.Shima Onsen was established in 1955. Kusatsu Onsen was designated as the first national hot spring area in 2005.Since ancient times, it has prospered as a hot spring resort that cures many illnesses. Kusatsu Onsen is a highly acidic spring, which is why your skin becomes rough. In order to prevent this, Shima Onsen was used as a finishing bath.It is popular because the soft spring water containing sodium and calcium makes the skin beautiful.The interior is also very soft with wood and indirect lighting. We have created a beautiful space.It’s very relaxing.In this lounge, you can enjoy welcome drinks.Now , let’s go to the hot springs. There are 7 hot springs that I would like to visit at Ryokan Tamura, and there are also hot springs near the sister hotel Shima Grand Hotel, so you can enjoy about 10 hot springs.Like this, the stamp rally stand You can also enjoy collecting stamps while soaking in the hot springs.The first place we went to was the private indoor bath called Crystal. There is an additional charge of 2,200 yen for 40 minutes.It ‘s a natural hot spring, so it’s really nice.The space is quite large.It’s large enough for about 8 people.Next is the open-air bath Ryugu. When you go outside, it’s called Sakura Pool and you can use it depending on the season.The outside is also lit up. It is very beautiful.You can enjoy the mixed open-air bath dug into the river of Ryugu-no-Yu.The open-air bath is an echo of the forest.The bath has a view of the mountain stream and waterfall.Next is The large public bath Iwane no Yu, Musou no Yu, and the open-air pothole hot spring.Personally , I liked this Yumuso no Yu. It’s an indoor bath made entirely of cypress, and it was really fun to think that military commanders used to bathe here in the past.Also, each hot spring has a different concept, so I think finding one you like is part of the fun. This is the fairy tale bath with a view on the top floor of our sister hotel Grand Hotel.There are so many that it’s difficult to visit them all, but if you go, please give it a try.Next time, let’s look at the food. I would like to come Dinner is a buffet at the Shima Grand Hotel.Depending on the plan, you can choose between a buffet and room meals at the time of reservation.The venue is large, so you won’t feel cramped.Eat your meal in an open space. At this buffet, you can enjoy over 50 kinds of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes.This is seafood.We had carpaccio of shrimp, tuna, and salmon.The shrimp were also very large, sweet, and delicious. It was just Personally, I like Japanese food, so I’m really happy to have sashimi.In addition, there’s a live kitchen where freshly grilled beef steak and freshly fried tempura are prepared right in front of your eyes. The scent and sound will whet your appetite. Here you can make your own hot pot using seasonal ingredients. There are three types of soup stock, and being able to make your own hot pot with your favorite flavor is very fun. It was delicious and there was a good selection of food. I was confused about what to eat, but I decided to try it once. I would like to see how my stomach feels and then order another serving.As with the rice, there were many types of desserts.Drinks can be ordered a la carte, but there is also an all-you-can-drink option.If you choose all-you-can-drink, you can have soft drinks and alcohol. That’s right You can also choose to have all-you-can-drink beer, shochu, or wine for 60 minutes for 1,980 yen.I ordered a la carte and ended up taking too much because there were so many items.I wondered if I could eat that much. I tend to eat a lot of things, but when I drink alcohol, I get hungry at the end, so I had curry and yamakake tuna bowl.Next, I wanted to go see what the breakfast was like. The location for breakfast has changed to Utopia, the dining venue of Ryokan Tamura.Here , you can enjoy monthly hot spring porridge made by soaking Koshihikari rice from Gunma Prefecture overnight in Tamura’s spring water.Arrival This porridge looks delicious.There are several side dishes to enjoy it.It ‘s good to enjoy the taste of the porridge itself. One of the fun things about it is that you can customize it to your liking.The grilled food, salmon, and pork were all very filling.The rice porridge was very delicious with the soup stock.A meal that satisfies both body and soul.
