And listen to Greek music that makes you smile without even realizing it. You’ll notice the Venetian Castle from almost anywhere in Parga. It’s like the town’s old guardian, always watching from above. Built centuries ago to protect locals from pirates Now it simply watches over visitors — and offers the best sunset views in town. Parga is more than a pretty town It’s a place where history, sea, and life blend together. People have lived here since ancient times. But the town we see today was built in the Middle Ages, when locals moved closer to the sea for protection. Up on the hill stands the Venetian Castle, as I told you earlier It was rebuilt many times after pirate and Ottoman attacks. From there, you can see the whole town — houses stacked on the hills, and the blue Ionian stretching to the horizon. The sun is still high, painting the sea in shades of gold and blue.
