this is small what’s that I’m here wow here we go man I’ll tell you about the screw up this was hello neighbor 6 hours to Sapa I’m going to be sleeping here uh looks kind of fancy I guess I have a TV oh I also have this light which is coming off does this come down ooh yes it does but then you guys can’t see me anyway I’m going to lie down here I got one hour of sleep last night see you guys when the view is cnic and I’m close to supper signing off [Music] this is how you wake up in the morning little morning so here’s the thing I thought this thing was going to be comfortable whereas in fact this is what it is like the drivers constantly boom boom boom even when we we driving straight it’s just start stop like the driver is a horrible driver and this you know I can’t I can’t stretch out either cuz my My legs will hit um will hit the wall so and also in Vietnam wow in Vietnam the culture is to be very uh like noise Oh my Jesus uh like noise here is kind of people will people will talk will talk loudly um so man I had 1 hour sleep before I boarded this bus I don’t know how much I got on this one it feels like nothing some kind of bus station I don’t think this is uh this is me though oh people coming out of wall actually everyone’s getting ready maybe we should go out and explore now we’re talking we’re in the right part of town you can buy flowers in a in a bag one place group bus VIP bus cabin I can also tell you that the suspensions on the bus are shut uh or or bust so I’m not impressed with this bus at all uh and also yeah they couldn’t find me in the morning they forgot me so we an hour late I would actually not recommend them you first you first next time I’m going to try and be upstairs at least we got supplies I figured out the way to kind of counter balance the turns here I call it the gyo position you see we go left you put the pressure on your left now we turn back activate dried food okay the Aesthetics isn’t you know the best but nobody can comes with a mountain toop you can scale on your own so I see like a car for the hotel down there let me just go and go and uh go and catch a ride with them all right we’re in business hello how are you this is funny so I tried to hold on here uhe hello you guys always say I should take off my hat indoors so oh hey are you the reception yes check it in yes please can have a seat here first all fireplace that kind of sealed the deal for me and I think this um you know judging from from the state of it this one actually works as well we’re going to fire this one up at night and uh we’re going to throw some potatoes on there roasted fireplace potatoes it is ancient books wow what a place let’s close this one so it cools down hold on is my hat on straight yes first things first I kind of thought this was the shower but no it’s just a uh a bathroom I should have had that on for my room tour I must say one of the absolute best hotels well it’s a villa I have a seen in Vietnam just in case you thought that was something else oh so there’s the Morning View from the I could see now why these are made for the rice field and not walking through doors so sitting in the bed but let’s stay in character yeah nice uh this going to be a nice place to wake up to funky funky your now we’re talking imagine that steps up to the bathtub yeah this is pretty cool I really like the design of this uh of this bathroom with the steps up to your uh bathtub with kind of a view all right nobody looking so I can have my feet on the table oh nice got some speed now we’re going to the outdoor swimming pool just going to have to Soldier through no sleep yesterday and uh yeah that bus was an ice beare so going to sold it through spend all day here at the hotel and then tomorrow we’ll do some exploring so you have inside swimming pool also two swim swimming pool uh yes there swimming pool in that’s uh this not is from here about 1 km I see let’s do the outdoors one then all right how do I find the towel yeah should have I’ll just down here yes okay thank you everything okay yes broken broken is okay I don’t want to be like electrocuted sitting in here let’s go and get a drink first so oh my God this guy and I think me wearing a hat when I’m swimming would be up there amongst those things so uh I’m going to wear this oh there’s the Jack thank you so much he’s okay swim with the hat it’s good for swimming okay this is probably one of the better ideas I’ve had in a while so that’s the mountain that I’m contemplating scaling but the growing corn and I mean it’s basically it’s a forest going up there so I mean it seems to me that that that that uh is probably impossible but I’ll have a little investigation after this glass and my swim and then we’ll see if I can find a path honestly I don’t understand why I was doubting the wisdom of swimming with this hat this is uh swimming with this hat it’s the greatest idea I have had since buying the skull neck was in barasi uh yeah man in fact I’m going to always swim with this hatch from now on schol my friends man this thing is deep they turn on the bubbles for me they say it’s going to heat up in roughly 1 hour so now it’s 4:00 5:00 it’s going to be hot not just here but they say this uh hot flow is going to Bubble over in um here so the entire pool is going to be hot thumbnail hunt Z nice look at this the light comes on at night anyway going to go for dinner it is I want to be the first one there it starts at 600 now it’s is 5:55 my plan mutro backfired um my shorts are wet I was going to Dy them in front of the fireplace I’m guess guessing that’s my car uh I couldn’t get the fireplace going so now I’m going here with a with a wet um yeah hello how are you thank you all right okay where you let to go now uh for dinner yeah M I didn’t film this earlier but what a what a Terrace 2 minutes until dinner officially starts so oh here we go dinner hello where do you want me to sit anywhere anywhere what about there yes okay sit here is that better with uh with a pool in the background yeah okay I think you’re right it’s a good spot yeah I’ll sit here then yeah oops a stir fried Northwestern horse I have a a question yeah what is a stir fried Northwest horse this like the this L you order real chicken yeah you order saled chicken but now we come to the but that’s a horse like a me yeah yeah yeah really yeah you eat that here of okay you want to try I want to try that yeah yeah oh actually no a grilled bua hor tenderloin what’s a Balan carine I think that’s a difficult for drink you can try this one or this one is difficult what’s difficult is a strong strongest smell bad smell not not really bad your favorite is a plum brandy yes plum brandy or insane I think you you try this one plum brandy I listen to you so I will take a little bit same for you try so can I try a little bit of that one too yes I take a a little bit of all three okay and then I will choose one yeah okay thank you another drink another drink wow so have three gongo like I can’t believe this restaurant actually serves um all of these are um are gongo is basically the same that I had on that boat out in um out in in a floating village it’s very potent it’s very strong so she’s not joking um when she said that after I’ve had um these three I’m going to be filling it so all right thank you here we go they actually do serve horse meat here fresh from the frying pan it’s good my plan was to kind of go and sit here but you know people now are just coming out for dinners and stuff so I don’t think they want to see uh gongo kasipu daru uh full Northman running around here I’m now going to withdraw to my quarters and uh man that gongo really got me it got me good so I think we should just go back to my heart is so beautiful but at the same time I’m so wasted uh I can’t believe that from just those three small cups my Hut is all the way over there so um yeah we’re going to go um hold is a full moon today possibly anyway we’re going to keep this Gabriel High Roller traveler mode so you guys don’t see how wasted I am and then uh we’re going to walk up here and actually why not I don’t care and then we’re going to withdraw to my quarters we are going to fire up the uh man can’t even speak English that’s how wasted I am he’s got few [Music] kind of sobering up on this walk not really what’s happening is that you know when you feel wasted and then suddenly you you’re like you know hold on I’m all right uh it’s just your body kind of normalized the feeling of you being wasted so when you no longer feel wasted that’s how you know you’re actually more wasted than before here’s the thing you can obviously walk through this you know what I might give this a go in the morning we can at least make that hill and up there we can see if we can continue let’s go crash then actually let’s fire up the the fireplace beautiful but that uh makes my uh Hill Adventure completely out of the question it’s going to be too wet and difficult to go up there slippery actually this one looks promising oh man it’s wet look at this it’s wet that’s where it’s going going let’s put our main let’s put our main log right here got it yeah hoto I just want a huge ass fire going in here kind of still raging strong should we throw a potato on there just for good measure or beetroot or whatever this is let’s see what happens I mean it’s right there with the other fire hazards so why would it be there if it doesn’t burn you see it does burn I was right all right let’s throw some more on there ■ SA PA, VIETNAM: When I toured Northern Vietnam on a motorbike 5 years ago, upon hitting the town Lao Cai, I rode east. The area west of said city was thus unexplored and unchartered territory to me. My absolute favorite aspect of this far North of the country is the green mountains and tiered rice fields. The region known as Sa Pa epitomizes such terrain.

I knew I had to go. But how to get there? My choice of transportation fell on a spacious sleeper bus where you get your own compartment to chill in.

They were supposed to pick me up at my hotel at 7:00. I was waiting for them since 6:45. At 8:00 There was no sign of the bus. The hotel called them for me and it turns out they had forgotten to swing by my hotel me.

They sent a motorbike to fetch me so we could drive and catch up with the bus. It was the start of an uncomfortable journey. Luckily in Sa Pa a $300 luxury cabin at a 5 start hotel awaited me. I therefore journey straight to the hotel to recover and revel in luxury before my mountain adventure began the following day.
