佐久奈度神社 滋賀 Sakunado Shrine Shiga ネコのおさんぽ

This time, I will be visiting Sakunado Shrine in Oishi, Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. This shrine specializes in purifying impurities.
In this case, purifying impurities refers to mental impurities, not actual impurities. In the past, it was customary in this area to purify oneself at Sakunado Shrine before visiting Ise Shrine. The popular theory is that the origin of the place name “Oishi” is a corrupted version of “Oise.” “Oise” seems to refer to the purification site for those who make pilgrimages to Ise, and it seems that this shrine is exactly what it refers to. By the way, about the place name Oishi… The family of Oishi Kuranosuke, the protagonist of the famous Japanese story “Chushingura,” was apparently an official in this area, and the family name Oishi came from this place name. It seems that this shrine was founded in 669, the 8th year of the reign of Emperor Tenji, when Nakatomi no Kane enshrined the god of purification at the request of the emperor. The enshrined deity of this shrine is Haraedo no Okami. It is made up of four gods called Haraedo-yonshin (Haraedo-yonno-kami). Seoritsuhime-no-Mikoto Hayaakitsuhime-no-Mikoto Ibukidonushi-no-Mikoto Hayasasurahime-no-Mikoto Each of the four gods has a role to play. Seoritsuhime is a goddess who purifies people’s impurities in the river rapids. Hayaakitsuhime is the goddess of the river mouth that flows into the sea and washes away impurities into the sea. Ibukidonushi is a god who creates strong winds on the ocean and blows away sins and impurities. Hayasasurahime is a goddess who carries away the impurities and eventually erases them. If you pray at this shrine, it is said that even your stubborn impurities will be washed away. There is also an observation deck-like space within the shrine grounds. I think the best time would be during the cherry blossom season or the autumn leaves season. And this shrine has a mascot dog named Kure-chan. It’s cute. It’s soothing. The impurity is blown away It’s so cute. Seriously cute. Let’s worship at this shrine. Now, I will receive the goshuin (red seal). Has this cleansed me of my impurities? That’s all for now. Please watch again next time.

お散歩がてら、御朱印集め致します。
