大洲を探索する – 日本の小さな町の歴史的な通り

What’s up everybody? Welcome back to the perfect walk. My name is Clint and we are wandering in small town Japan. How beautiful is this? We’re going to walk from the back side of this town to the train station together, taking a different route than we went in on and seeing some historic things as we go. Sound like fun? then you’re in the right place. If you’re new here, welcome. We do walks, 30 minute episodes. Once a week, you get a walk from somewhere in the world. Thanks for joining, everybody. Look at this street. Come on. So pretty. So pretty. My kind of place for sure. We’ll head straight up the street ahead of us. Cute puppy dog. Cute puppy dog. Cute puppy dog. Nice place to stop for a coffee. Noticed a few really nice coffee places in this town. That looks cool down there, too. Let’s go that way. We can come back. Whenever you come to a cool thing, go look at it. Look at that building. This is all one hotel property. I think Nepono Hotel. They had like eight buildings. They have cornered the market in this small town. Look at this. Really cool. tower, I guess. Is that what we call it? Lighthouse, at the end of the street here. Might be part of a shrine. That might be what everybody was going up the mountain for in the last video. There a shrine up there. Oh, my old nemesis. Stairs. We meet again. Yeah. Yeah. I’m not going up there. Not this time. Seen enough mountain shrines. I’m here for the town. I came on this particular sojourn just to walk around a weatherworn old Japanese mountain town, not to climb castles or shrines. So, please to forgive me. It’s a wine store. This is definitely an interesting mix of high-end stuff and I don’t want to say low-end stuff. There was a whole section earlier of the town that looked a little worse for wear and closed up. So, it’s definitely interesting. I say worth a trip. Look at the pretty gutters with the bamboo flower holders. That’s a surprise. Very cute little tea house in there. Huh? Hello, Coy. Oh, man. I should put this on Instagram. This Japanese town’s water is so clean that koi live in it. 10 million views. Not bad. Well, everyone once again I hope that I am showing you some places that You haven’t been shown before. [Music] [Music] They seem nice. Thank you. Welcome to Bar Louie America. All right, we’ll hang a right here back towards the station. We’ll cross the river bridge. Heat. Heat. Cool street down that way, too. bus stop. Definitely a cool little town. Well worth a visit. I bet Saturday or Sunday that whole section really comes to life. It might be seasonally too, like around festivals or something, but I bet it’s weekends. [Music] Windy. We are up here in the [Applause] mountains. How pretty this is. See some boats down there. I wonder if there’s a a river tourism situation here, but they’re all up out of the water and there’s no tides here. It’s river. There’s a hawk. Beep bop. Beep. Beep. Beep. All right, we’re going that way. Meg milk. I don’t know what that is, but I’ve seen two signs for it. wonderful kind of old shopping plazas, art deco. Everything here seems like it’s just from a slightly bygone era. And you got to dig that. Unfortunately, from everything that I’ve seen and read, small towns are in a bit of a pickle. in Japan. I mean, this is big enough that it’s going to hang on, I think, for quite a while, but there’s just no investment happening here compared to what you see elsewhere in the cities. [Music] So, we’ll go this way this time. See what we can see. Certainly still a lot of people here, which is good. Clearing out that home or business. [Applause] [Music] That’s a hell of a house. Soy sauce factory. I don’t feel like I need to add a lot to the wonder that This this place all kinds of feels I think Well, ozu has been a treat. like a series of different eras represented in the different parts of towns that we walk through. Every era except the modern day. So, I’m sure somewhere out by the highway there’s a bunch of fancy new stores, but I’d rather not see it. Like this kind of time capsule. Unfortunately, not a lot open on a Friday, but you can imagine you can imagine two things, I think. One, when it comes to life, what it looks like, and two, what it used to be There’s a gentleman passing on it right who is walking the pilgrimage route across the island. and you’ll see folks dressed in white shirts with hats and walking sticks. It’s kind of the Appalachian Trail of Japan. There’s hundreds of temples and shrines or shrines I should say and a route that goes across the whole island from southwest to northeast. I did some reading on it, but I’ve seen dozens of people clearly on the route today. Today alone. Pretty neat. For a walker like myself, that’s a pretty appealing idea. The sleeping out with the bears part notwithstanding. Japan. Uh, hurry. Somebody trademarked that. And you can make mayonnaise with soy sauce or uzu or some kind of teriyak flavor. Japon. children. So, we will point our camera this way. Oh, it’s a whole crap ton. Hello. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Hello. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. Have a good day. See you. Oh, they were so nice. Hello. Nice to meet you. That is uh just the touch of life I think this video needed as a bit of an uplift at the end of the walk. School has just let out. [Applause] All right. So, I think we go left to the station. [Music] And I’ll try not to point the gimbal directly at these children, but we’ll keep our walk going. Come on. There we go. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Doesn’t get any better than that. And the train station is just up here. Cute little kids practicing their English. Treattorio Ricardo. It’s actually pretty nice. Uh, don’t tell 7-Eleven, but I think they missed one. [Music] There’s the local pizza place. Pizza Royal Hat. Probably not as authent a authentic as tratoria Ricardo, but pizza Royal Head is probably more delicious because they look like they’re thriving. They got four four scooters, five, six scooters. They are booking Pizza Royal Hat. Number one pizza place in town for sure. I love it. You can see on the sign make their own dough. No frozen bought in junk at Pizza Royal hat. Love it. And there’s the station up here. So, we will figure out where we’re going next because I really don’t have a freaking clue. Honest to God. Oh, look at that faded old walkway above the train line. So cool. So cool. All right, everybody. It’s been 30 minutes. It’s been a fun walk. We’ve made it to our destination. I hope you’ve enjoyed another walk around a small town in Japan. This time, Ozu. Oh man, Ozu. Very cool. Thanks everybody for the love and support and we will see you next time. Bye for now.

  1. Today's walk introduced us to a town that showcased their inspirationally creative use of multi-dimensional landscapes, somewhat reminiscent of what I have seen in the USA the state of West Virginia. The Japanese made great use of manmade stone retaining walls to open up many additional building sites. Also, I must ask, was that a functioning Barber pole I saw at 19 minutes into today's walk? Have a great day.

  2. Nice looking small town😎Lots of nice looking houses along your walk🙂Thank you for sharing this enjoyable and relaxing walk Wander🙂👍!!!
