We Left Kathmandu… What We Found in Nagarkot 🤯
We’ll head off to Nagarkot shortly. So, are
you sad to leave Kathmandu? You almost do feel like you’re literally on a movie set,
but nope. It’s all real. Drink tea. Okay, we have a best tea. Oh, I Yeah. Drink now. Oh,
yeah. Cheers. Wow. Hospitality is like nowhere I think I have ever experienced. Nice.
And that time you will see the mountain clearly. Okay. Oh my goodness. I’m getting
other than the chili spicy. So it’s called khukri is that nice knife. Scary one.
Namaste. Just like that we are off and uh hitting the streets as promised. I think we
have in mind our spot that we will be headed to um for breakfast. And uh unlike yesterday
where we had a very heavy breakfast I think today we’re going to do the
opposite actually. We’re going to opt for a little lighter breakfast. Yeah. Um
try to go easy on our stomachs because we also have no momo. No momos I don’t think
today but maybe later. We have in mind um probably we’ll do a a bigger lunch or
dinner. And uh I think we may be going for a swim. So hence a nice light breakfast here.
But we’re going to be heading there now. And wow. Namaste. How are you? Good. Really good.
Like the hot dog, chicken buns, veggie wrap, chocolate croissant. Do you see something that
you are interested in? So, we had the double espresso, although I think I might have actually
inadvertently uh ordered a single espresso. And he had a uh Americano. And we had the chocolate chip
banana muffin. No, I think it was really tasty. And how much did it come to? Uh 550 550 rupees
which I don’t know what is that not very much. $4. So um I don’t know. Good deal. Bad deal. I’ll
say good deal. I don’t know. We don’t have enough comparison yet, I guess. Comment below if that
is a good deal for what we got. I know that I felt like the Momo yesterday, I feel like the
Momos from Four Square were probably the best deal in town. That felt ridiculously affordable.
Amazing value for all the food we got. The food, the drink. That was uh really nice. So, um, yeah,
I just I can’t get over it compared to pricing back home. Um, I’ll take it. And again, also
with so much character and so much flavor. Yeah, it’s well worth it. Look at this very cool
shirt. I really like that beautiful tea shop. Yeah. Nice to meet you. Where you from? Thailand,
Canada. Canada. Canada. Nice to meet you. Oh, great to meet you, sir. Yes. Drink tea. Okay.
We have a best tea. Oh, I drink now. Oh, yeah. The best one in town. Okay. I do the best
one in. Okay. Because uh Nepali tea always good, you know. Morning. I do one, two, three sometime
in the drink. Really good. It’s really good. Yes. How long have you been uh in business? My 16
years. 16 years doing tea. Wow. Wow. Before small in the there little bit like a 200 kil
no 200 m from here. Yeah. And now I make a new shop like a two one year this. Wow. 15 years
in another spot. Just this masala tea that is really fragrant tea coming. Oh wow. How
nice. Oh my goodness. Wow. That is beautiful. We can enjoy here. It’s okay. It’s okay. Why not?
Good. Oh, nice. Wow, look at that. Are you from uh are you from Nepal? From Kathmandu or uh 50
km from 45. Oh, that’s nice. Next to Bhaktapur and Bakur. Yeah. Bhaktapur. Oh, thank you. Thank
you. He likes it. But sometimes milk him and milk are not very good friends. Store. What’s the
name of your store? Pure Nepali. Pure pure. Pure Nepali. I And what is your name? Krishna.
Krishna. Krishna. Yes. Wow. Beautiful name. Yes. Oh, good. Pure Nepali. Wow. And it’s
very tasty. Yeah. Very tasty. Very tasty. Do you have it every day? Every
day. Yeah. Four. Not one. Okay. Three, four, five. Six, seven. Is your family here
as well? Yes, you have family. Family. Oh, good. Three daughters and me wife. A lovely.
Are you living Thailand or where? We will be soon. Soon we will be. Yeah. Right now we’re in
Portland, Oregon. Portland. Uh we’re in Portland, Oregon. It’s like a west coast, USA. US. And
he’s from Thailand. From Thailand. Original Thailand. But you live on. Wait. We have been now
together 10 years. 10 years. Long time. Yeah. And it’s wonderful. I am very lucky. Lucky to meet
you. I’m really lucky. He is. He is really lucky. He is a bit like Nepali also. You see everything.
Yeah. I I look like Nepali. Nepali really is 90% Nepali look like. You go only telling the people
Nepali. Yeah. I want to get him the topi. So yeah, he can really then you can really be local
person. Namaste. Namaste. Namaste. Yeah. Take care. Have a wonderful day. So see you. Okay.
Yes. Take care. Okay. Bye-bye. Bye-bye. So long. So we have now here also the Himalayan salt and
we have a lot of tea that will not fit in our bag. So we might have to leave that with the hotel um
and then buy more luggage, maybe a little bit. But um the tea was very nice. It was really good. That
was exactly what I was hoping for. But I learned today too. Um I didn’t know that. I thought that
masala tea did have uh caffeine and I guess I learned that it doesn’t. So that’s surprising.
I thought it was a black tea which I assume does have caffeine but I guess no. So we’ll try it
out our tea and um yeah hopefully I can make it as well as Krishna because he made it perfect. So,
um, even I wonder my milk might be different than whatever milk they are using here, maybe that adds
extra to the taste and also the ambiance, right? Every time when you have something and you’re
in this atmosphere, it’s tastes much better. So, maybe I will have to hire a few motorbikes to
rip around so I can enjoy my tea with the same experience. So, oh, that’s our friend There
we saw our friend who drove us on the uh the rickshaw on day one. Um we’ll link that video to
the whole series. Um so you can see the sights and sounds of Nepal. So just like that we are now
back at Hotel Moonlight here approaching and um I think we are going to do a quick quick rest stop.
Namaste. Um we are going to do a quick rest stop and then um grab our luggage and away we go
in the shuttle. So namaste. So we’ll head off to Nagarkot shortly. So sad to leave
Kathmandu but excited to explore more of Nepal. Wonderful. So my name is Ray. This is
my name and I will also be the tour manager of our tour. So you cannot get rid of me today.
I’ll be there all all the way till the end. Oh good. Wonderful. Our drive to Nagarkot is going
to be around an hour and a half depending on the traffic. Oh good. You saw the traffic.
Yeah. We are just glad to not be driving. Got everything. Cell phone. Dhanyabad. Namaste. Oh, this is cool. Wow.
All right. That’s really neat. Wow. That’s beautiful. Part of the world. No. Okay. Uh
you give something with your right hand. Ah. Yeah. Yeah. and not the left hand. Oh yeah,
that’s right. Yeah. And this is similar. Yeah, it is. Something like this, I think.
Yeah. Did you do it correctly? Thank you, sir. Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Uh,
now I can’t remember. Normally we try to do two, but I have so many items in my hand. So if
you do with one hand is respect. If your left hand supports the right hand is like super
respect. Respect multiple max. Double max. Wow. Open sunset time. Same wing rooftop. You are in uh
second floor and then the rooftop there is the sun downer. The bonfire gathering all the guest are
there having complimentary tea coffee there and you can see sunset one side and then mountain
view. Wow. Okay. Wow. You’re funny. Wow. It is sunny now. Yeah. There’s three of them. Did you
see that? Three cats. Three cats. Wi-Fi username and password in this one. Wow. It’s for the air
conditioning. You just make it on. It is in the heating mode because it’s cold here in the
evening time. And when the weather is clear, you see you will see the very nice all cloud
is mountain area. It’s like if not cloud, you’ll see all the mountain. Now it’s sunrise
from this direction. Oh my goodness. Just wake up, be here, enjoy the sunrise. Sunrise and that time
you will see the mountains clearly. Okay. Oh my goodness. Is cloudy every day like this. Everest
is Everest in the weather is very clear in this direction. The rooftop we see the just little bit.
Okay. So, you’re right. I said to him, I was like, “No, I think this is Everest.” Looks like Everest,
but this is not that’s China on side. Uh yeah, some mountains is in China side. The most
of them are in Nepal. Okay. Wow. So you have the best office. You have the best. Yes. It’s
wonderful. If you need any assistance in the room, dial number nine. That’s the reception. Okay. And
see you in the sunset in the top 550. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah. Namaste. Thank you. Namaste.
Namaste. ourselves. Yeah. Thank you so much. Thank you. Oh my goodness. So immediately just
blown away. The hospitality is like nowhere I think I have ever experienced. Um everyone
is so kind. As you just saw, we met the hotel manager. Um we met our guide manager. Um we
have this stunning view. Um, so I definitely know where we’re going to be for sunrise. And
I can’t wait for the it to be even more clear. [Music] The time currently is 2:00 p.m. So, I think maybe
we have a few things that we can try to do. Um, one, I think maybe grab a bite to eat.
Two, there is a wonderful pool on site, so we could go there. And three, maybe try to
do a hike. Uh, four, there’s a welcome drink and reception. It sounded like what a bonfire.
And um and yeah, sunset. So, oh my goodness, I thought today was going to be a free day with
uh you know, kind of a leisurely um itinerary, but wow. No. Yeah, we we have quite a lot
of things we can do. So, um I just can’t even get over the room is stunning. You can
see here the beautiful artwork. I love these. Uh it looks like kind of like artistic plates.
Um if I move this way, it looks like there is some complimentary water, coffee, tea. There’s a
safe. Do you want to show me how does this look inside? We have a nice slippers big closet. So,
yeah, we have some sandals to enjoy. And then, um, right over this way, we enter now the
bathroom. And pretty cool, actually. The shower looks like you do have um, you can go right in.
It’s one, it’s really big. Uh, and there’s this window, so you get some natural sunlight while
you’re there with uh, all these nice amenities provided. So, wow. It’s hard not to feel like
a princess. I really do. Nice. Excellent work. I kind of wouldn’t mind going
to see the pool. Do you want to just go check it out first? Okay.
Check out that. Oh, yeah. Right here. Okay. Oh, I like all these artworks and the
music is really nice. Very soothing. I like even this little seating
area. See the bar? [Applause] Wow. [Music] It’s very nice. I really like it.
And there’s changing rooms. Again, probably. Huh. Probably on a clear day, you can
probably uh have a view even from the pool and some shopping here. Look at this cool one.
Isn’t that neat? Stylistically amazing. Wow. Namaste. Wow. So colorful. It’s
really nice. Wow. Oh, look here, baby. This is what they were talking about.
The different peaks. So, you can really see is like back there. Back there. But this
is This looks high because I guess it’s Is this the one? He said it’s like a in China.
Yeah. Oh, wow. I think so. And with even we should have this by the door. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. All righty. Way you go. Thank you, sir. All right. This is chilling. Promoters, architect, interior design. Wow. All right. So,
let’s see. We’ll try to not get too lost, but if we do, it looks like there’s beauty
in every direction, including look at these stunning red flowers. Yeah. Wow. Really
nice. You are good. Yeah. Okay. Namaste. Oh, you can rent a bike. A there’s a sleeping doggy. Okay. So, there’s a couple of restaurants
here. And I think is it this one is our or is it a different one you had in mind?
This is it. This is the one set. Okay. Wonderful. Today’s special. They have the
Nepali uh thali set daily special. Um, they have rice, they have mutton, home
fries or fish and chips. Sounds good. Okay, the smell of this is incredible. It smells
really good. Um, I don’t know why, but lately, remember I was telling you this, I’ve really been
craving green peppers. And actually on the plate, there are so many really nice, lovely grilled
green peppers. And so, right away, like that’s the first smell that I’m getting other than the
chili, spicy. So, maybe we’ll be messed up for the hike tomorrow. Um, what we have here. So, we have
tried so far the momo uh steamed. We have had uh jhol momo, which we have coming here in a second.
We’ve had a soup dumpling style momo. We’ve had uh fried. And so, we figured why not? We’ll try the
next kind. And this is the chili momo. Uh inside is buffalo meat. Mm. And next also come in a
steamed chicken momo. So this kind of remind me of like um like a Chinese stir fry, right? It’s good.
It’s really spicy, but it has a lot of flavor, but there’s sauce here and it reminds me of more of
like kind of like spicy barbecue. Mhm. Right. Mhm. No, you’re absolutely right.
It’s interesting the Oh, yeah. Wow. Wonderful. Thank you.
Wow. Thank you. Wow. Yummy. Mm. Uh, no. Like just uh do you not a bite?
No. Okay. Just Oh, yeah. Good. Namaste. Okay. I want to ask you cuz I’ll get your
reaction. You tried three different ones. Sweet. I don’t know what this is.
I’m just sucking on it, I guess. So, this one is a It’s like a licorice flavor. That
one? This one? No, this one is licorice flavor. Okay. It’s freshen your breath. Mhm. This
one I’m going to try. Sugar. That’s sugar. Yeah. Sweet. I think that’s sugar. Yeah.
I think that’s rock sugar. Yeah. What’s the other one? The intense one. Suck on it.
What? Hm I don’t know what this is. They said so. There was three items. One is uh one is rock
sugar. I think the second might be like star anise, but I could be wrong. Like licorice. That
one tastes like licorice. I’ve had that one before and I love it. I like that one. licorice. But this
one, oh, I lost it. It’s gone. It’s gone for me. Um, that was not very flattering of me. I don’t
know what that third item is. What did he say? Nepali. So, Nepali something. The rock sugar and
the star are very good. Those two are wonderful together. Anyway, that was a sunset. I believe the
restaurant starts with sunset coffee and we have organic coffee. Wow, it’s really nice. Namaste and
Oh, another doggy. Oh, here’s another new friend. Hello. Um, namaste. Namaste. Um, it was really
delicious. We uh I think we both have decided though that our very favorite is the Jhol steamed
dumpling. Just something about this soupy sauce is so tasty. But wow, I will say um it doesn’t seem
to matter where we go. Like service is on 100. The service is so good. Everyone’s so kind and
just such wonderful hosts. So we are going to go now into town. Um I think if nothing more, we are
going to try to get uh water to fill our backpacks for the hike tomorrow. So um we’ll try to get uh
yeah, we’ll try to get lots of water to drink and stay hydrated, especially cuz we indulged in the
local Ghorka. So we’ll see what time it’s like. [Applause] nice pharmacy. Nothing. I think so. And they have
Kit Kat and many potato chips and Chicken crackers. Oh, chicken. Come on.
Chicken crackers and something with chili. It’s like a chicken cracker and
a chili chip or something. And it looks like they do recycle here.
You can put plastic inside here. And everyone sells lots of different kinds
of potato chips, but it might not be potato. Spicy. It looks good. Hot and spicy.
People adventuring. Many motorcycles. Yeah, motorcycle. Maybe we might be part of
a photo shoot at the moment. But hey, yeah, on a clear day, this would
be really magnificent, I’m sure. [Laughter] [Music] So, we are going now to the store. The town is not
so big. It’s not so big. Just a little one. Hi. A really friendly uh local people. Wonderful.
Very beautiful. Um yeah, we’re going to go get the water. It doesn’t take so long to walk, but
there it’s nice and there’s lots of viewpoints, so I can see why it’s so charming and
everyone would want to come to visit. Namaste. Maybe. Uh Oh, yeah. Oh, in behind you. Sorry.
You’re okay. There’s a oyster sauce I used in Thailand. Ooh, these are the good. So, you can
get a a tea like that. I wonder how much this one. Do you see this item down here? That is what
I really want to get. The masala tea. Oh, there we go. You could buy straight out of noodles.
Noodles. You can get it. Yeah. Biscuits, crackers, frozen beer. Do you want one for the hotel? Yeah,
of course. Uh, should I grab it? Okay. Okay. Ooh, some of these looks good. This is good. That’s
what he had. Lemon mint sticks. Yeah. Yeah. Let’s grab one. Wow. Your hair is uh is natural.
Ah, so uh no like um my eyebrow. Oh, it’s like a dark dark color here. I dyed the It’s fun. Yeah.
Yeah. It’s uh it’s good. I tried to match uh the Nepali flag. Oh, okay. I want to be part of Nepal.
Yeah. Red and blue. Yeah, that’s right. We have blue on uh on our YouTube channel. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. I like to do like a blue, green, purple, pink, red. It’s really fun. Your hobby. Yeah, it’s
true. This looks good. Yeah, let’s grab it. Lemon mint. This sure. Did you see this, too? Look. I
think you would like this item. What is it? Spicy coated fried peanut. No, I’m good. No. But good
with beer. More on this item. potato, punjabi, bean, and chickpeas. Ooh, I found this all. This
looks amazing. You can have uh chickpeas. This one you get all in one everything. Look, I’m try
this too. This? Okay. All in one bag. Look at this one now. Oh, it’s the uh See, let me see.
Hot and spicy. Okay. Both lemony masala magic lemon mint cheese spa. I think we should get a
beer. Yeah, just that. Right. [Applause] Which one do you want? Which one? I don’t know. Do
you want to try the chocolate? Thank you. Kit Kat is really popular. Have a break. Cat
Kit Kat Oreo. Ooh. Oh, you need to help. You got it. Ghorka. Yeah, Ghorka is good.
Do you know the meaning of Gurkha? Uh, the soldiers warriors. Yeah. Yeah. Like a really
fierce really strong. Where are you from? Uh, Canada. Canada. In um Thailand. Thailand. We

see. Which one? What do you want? How many do you want? Maybe. Yeah, that’s fine. Do you
need like a How many? Three. Three. Maybe one more. One more. Yeah. For hiking. Okay.

Namaste and welcome to Nepal. A red hair white woman and a Thai gentleman, what a combination. Thank you for uploading these videos. I hope there are many more to come. The stuffs you guys were chewing on and which has no flavor is called " Supari" , it comes from the trees. To me it tastes like a piece of wood and makes your mouth dry. I am not a fan of it. People who eats paan likes Supari.
Enjoy your stay, thank you for blending with the locals. This is the right way. Be safe..
