Riva del Garda, Italia 🇮🇹 | Walking Tour TOP (4K) INCREÍBLE por el Lago de Garda! ✅

Hello everyone, dear friends! It is a pleasure to welcome you to Riva del Garda. 🤗 Today we begin our tour by entering the convent of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a female religious congregation of the Catholic Church. The Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus are currently dedicated to the education and training of girls and adolescents. These gentlemen were amazed by this enormous backyard garden! 😍 This congregation founds and manages schools, colleges, and educational centers, in addition to offering spiritual and social support. Works of art have never been just decoration; they have always served an important purpose: to teach biblical stories and Christian values to people, especially in times when most people could not read. 🤓 It’s true, friends, even if we don’t know exactly what the paintings are about, each one conveys a different message according to our own interpretation. Now we are going to see one of nature’s greatest works of art. Are you ready? Riva del Garda is not just a lake; It is literally embraced by mountains that protect it and make it majestic. To the north and east rise the Alps, while to the west there are gentle hills and cliffs that fall directly into Lake Garda. That’s exactly what makes Riva del Garda so special, that perfect combination of water and mountains that give it a timeless beauty. Right now we’re heading to the old town, which is located right by the lake. Don’t miss that area because you’ll love it! 💖 Riva del Garda is in northern Italy, in the Trentino-Alto Adige / Tyrol region, right where Lake Garda is narrowest. It has very ancient roots, dating back to Roman times, and visible remains of that past remain, such as these ancient Roman baths. During the Middle Ages, it became a protected port with walls and towers, functioning as a key place for trade, through which goods and travelers passed, connecting the valleys of the Alps with southern Italy. 🌄 Precisely, the Porta di San Michele that we are about to cross is one of the most emblematic medieval gates that was part of the city’s defensive walls. The Porta di San Michele was known as the arched gate and was a main entrance to the walled city. Between the 15th and 19th centuries, the city changed hands several times: first under the influence of the Republic of Venice and then under the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Each era left its mark, such as the San Marco gate before us, which was built by the Venetians in the 15th century. They are currently presenting a book and have very good acoustics. “Ciao ragazzi”!👋😊 At the beginning of the 19th century, Napoleon Bonaparte conquered much of Europe, including the area where Riva del Garda is located. During that time, the city came under French influence. When Napoleon was defeated in 1815, European countries reorganized their territories and Riva del Garda once again came under the control of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. With the arrival of World War I and the subsequent political changes, Riva del Garda became part of Italy in 1919, marking the beginning of a new era. During those centuries, the city was famous for its oil industry, wine trade, and fishing in the lake.🐟 Friends, we have arrived at Piazza III Novembre, which is the main square of the city, beautifully surrounded by medieval buildings and palaces. The square takes its name from the date of November 3, 1918, when the Italian army entered Riva del Garda during World War I, ending the Austro-Hungarian occupation. And finally, we find the famous Lake Garda! 💙 Look what a gift life has given us! 🎁✨ It is because of these spectacular views that Riva del Garda has become such a coveted tourist destination today. The town’s most notable monument is the Torre Apponale, dating back to the 13th century and rebuilt in the 16th century for defensive purposes. At its top is the “Anzolim”: a small bronze weather vane in the shape of an angel that has become one of the symbols of Riva del Garda. This statue honors Blessed John of Nepomuk, a Spanish priest dedicated to helping those most in need, especially those deprived of liberty. Now we will arrive at the Ponale Hydroelectric Power Plant, one of the industrial jewels of the region. In addition to being beautiful, it is interesting! 😍 It was built in the 1920s by the architect Giancarlo Maroni, who wanted to combine the functionality of the building with its monumental character and the beauty of integrating it into the lake landscape. The plant is a pumped-storage system, using water from Lake Ledro, located about 590 meters above the level of Lake Garda. Here we have the beautiful Ponale Hydroelectric Power Plant! 💡💧 The water is transported through a gallery of approximately 7 km and a penstock that descends directly above the plant’s facilities . Humans can do amazing things that we hardly pay attention to! Don’t you think? 😮 Although it’s already late afternoon, the temperature today is still very pleasant. 😚 Riva del Garda has a mild, temperate climate year-round, with warm summers and mild winters. 🌞 This is why the region produces excellent wines and olive oil, something rare in Alpine areas, thanks to the lake’s unique microclimate. 👍✨ By the way, the Tower of Apponale is 34 meters high and has over 160 steps leading to an incredible view of the lake and mountains! Friends, this point is the heart of Riva del Garda! 💖 But the lakefront views continue and are a marvel to the eyes! 😍 The Monumento ai Caduti del Mare is a tribute to sailors who lost their lives at sea. It was inaugurated after World War I as a memorial to those who died in the conflict. In Riva del Garda, the lake is the epicenter of water activities and outdoor adventures. Windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, and rowing are all popular here thanks to the steady winds that make the lake an ideal spot for these sports. 🏄‍♂️ For those looking for a more relaxed atmosphere, there are boat trips or panoramic tours available, or you can fish for trout, pike, and perch in the crystal-clear waters. Now we’ll get to know the Riva del Garda Fortress! 💪 We head to Piazza Carducci, home to the Rocca, the remains of an ancient medieval fortification. Today it houses the MAG, Museo del Alto Garda , which collects fascinating archaeological finds from the area. It’s also home to this lovely family of swans! 🥰 Built for defensive purposes, the Rocca di Riva incorporated a quadrilateral structure with corner towers and an interior courtyard surrounded by the lake in the 14th century. Friends, I’d like to invite you to reflect a little… I find this town charming, beautiful, full of personality, and with a very authentic Italian beauty… However, at the same time, we live in a world where globalization and algorithms force us to consume and experience the same things everywhere. We listen to the same songs, watch the same movies, drive the same cars, wear the same brands of clothes, and even eat the same foods wherever we go. Today, whether you’re in Tokyo, New York, or Riva del Garda, lifestyles seem to replicate themselves over and over again, as if cultural diversity were diluted into a uniform global pattern. 📍 Parish of Santa Maria Assunta. We won’t disturb you, because they’re celebrating a mass. 🙏 Let’s continue! 😇 In the past, visiting a city or town meant discovering something authentic and unique: a market with local products that were only made there, crafts that told the story of the place, flavors and traditions that no one else had. Traveling used to be an adventure to learn, to be surprised, and above all, to connect with different cultures. Now, local culture is diluted into a homogeneous product, and authenticity becomes a spectacle designed for photos and social media, rather than something truly experienced. And when we all consume the same thing, we all think the same, we all seek the same aesthetic, the same habits, the same content… It makes it difficult for geniuses, innovators, and artists who bring freshness to the world to emerge. What do you think? Do you think authenticity has become a rare sight? Do you think life has the same sparkle as it did 20 years ago? I’d love to hear your opinion; I’ll read your comments! 💕 Enjoying street life, even at dusk, is a very pleasant experience in Italy! Everyone is encouraged to do it! You may also notice that there are bike paths and trails around the lake, ideal for exploring these breathtaking landscapes. Now you’ll see what I meant when I said that Riva del Garda is on the narrowest part of Lake Garda! 👀 Right here! Most people are having dinner right now; dinner here is served between 7:30 and 9:30 pm, and many restaurants stay open until 10:30 pm. Riva del Garda’s gastronomy combines Alpine and Mediterranean traditions, with influences from Trentino and Lake Garda. These restaurants offer lake trout in sauce, dishes like polenta with speck, game stews, and smoked meats typical of the Alpine region. They also offer mountain cheeses (such as Trentingrana or Spressa delle Giudicarie) accompanied by cured meats. And of course, you can’t miss the delicious pizzas and pastas found throughout Italy! 🍕🍝 If you’ve fallen in love with Riva del Garda and want to come see these landscapes with your own eyes, there are several ways to get there! 😚 The nearest airport is Verona, about 90 km away. Once there, rent a car, take a bus or train to Rovereto, and then a local bus to Riva del Garda. It may not be easy, but it’s worth it! ✨ You can also get there from Milan, Venice, or Innsbruck (Austria), with connections by train or car. During the tourist season, ferries connect Riva del Garda with other towns on Lake Garda that I assure you you will love to visit! I invite you to discover them through our channel, because this beautiful walk through Riva del Garda is almost over… 🥺🌺🌞💕 But don’t be sad, we are already waiting for you in another video to continue walking together in a wonderful new destination! ✨😃💖 Let’s keep walking together, there are many wonders of the world to discover! See you soon, friends! 🍋🌄👋😊🐟💙🎁💡💧🍕🌺🌞💕

  3. 43:59 So true. Go all the way to this beautiful lake to hear the same song, but hopefully not Macdonald. Most people have limited time and budget to travel, going to a small town like this become less priority especially for international travelers/tourists. It is probably good for local people and those who like something special.
