【四国 4days】絶景!UFOラインと四国カルスト。大阪から1348kmの旅

Welcome. This trip is my destination: Shikoku. I want to visit places I’ve always wanted to visit this summer. I’ll be focusing on the southwestern region of Shikoku. I plan to enjoy this region for three nights and four days. On Day 1, I’ll drive along the UFO Line and camp in the Shikoku Karst. Now, let’s begin our Shikoku journey! I’ll take advantage of the late-night highway discount and drive straight to Ehime Prefecture. The highway trip is about 280km long. I’m hoping to enjoy it again without any accidents or violations. I entered Shikoku via Awaji Island. The morning sun was beautiful. This concludes my highway trip. I exit the highway and drive about 28km to the UFO Line sign. You’ll see a sign after passing through the Kankazeyama Tunnel. I enter the Kankazeyama Tunnel. A sign will appear ahead on the left. I head toward the sign for Kankazeyama Kamegamori. I make a left U-turn at the UFO Line sign. From here, I’ll drive about 7.6km to the Kankazeyama Observatory. There are some tricky, winding sections along the way. Now, let’s drive safely. We’re approaching a difficult section. Beware of rear-end collisions as oncoming vehicles may be coming around curves. We’ll soon arrive at the Kanpuzan Observatory. We’ll take a short break here. This is the entrance to the UFO Line. Now, let’s head to the UFO Line. We’ll drive about 11 km and head for the view spot. We’ll arrive at Shikoku’s iconic sky road. A deep breath feels great! The UFO Line, officially known as the “Machi Road Kamegamori Line,” is a 27 km long municipal road stretching against the backdrop of Mount Ishizuchi, the highest peak in western Japan. The route weaves along the ridge at elevations of 1,300 to 1,700 m, making it a popular driving course with spectacular views that lead to the sky. The road is closed for the winter from late November to early April. Now, let’s head to our next spot. The scenery was beautiful. It’s a shame that the distance is hazy due to the heavy fog. A rest spot is in sight. We’re about 26 km from the Kanpuzan Observatory. Restaurants, souvenirs, etc. I only bought a sticker. I’d driven about 41km from Tsuchigoya Terrace. I stocked up on food before heading to Shikoku Karst. I made a detour to a roadside station up ahead. I bought a few more supplies. We were almost at Shikoku Karst. The road was narrowing. We’d soon arrive at Shikoku Karst. First, I checked in for camping. There was food, souvenirs, and simple accommodation. I filled out the guest register and handed over a 500 yen fee. This was the campsite. I headed straight to the campsite. Shikoku Karst is a karst plateau stretching across the border between Ehime and Kochi prefectures, and is considered one of Japan’s three major karsts. This is the spectacular view of Shikoku Karst! The view from 1000m to 1500m above sea level is breathtaking. I was running low on fuel, so I stopped at Himezuruso. The restaurant was closed, but you could buy fuel. It was ice cold. Cheers! My second beer. Cheers to reaching the end of the first day of our Shikoku trip safely! We’re in a good mood and setting up camp~♪ Tonight’s lodging is complete. Traveling on a motorcycle is so much fun. Time flies when you’re having fun. I’ll go to bed early to prepare for tomorrow. Thank you for watching until the end. See you next time!
