Largest Floating Village in Brunei
Good morning and welcome back to the new blog. I am Ansh and right now I am in Bandar Sher-e-Begawan, the capital and largest city of Brunei. Guys, this country faced poverty for almost 100 years ago, the people living here and their king did not even have enough clothes to wear. This country started from a small village situated on the water. So, this same poor country is today considered one of the richest countries in the world and its king is considered one of the richest kings in the world . That is, the country which did not have any money of its own. Today, this country ranks ninth in the world in terms of GDP per capita . Today, every resident in this country has access to free education and free medical treatment. Everyone owns their own private car. The price of fuel, or petrol, that every citizen pays is almost zero in their currency. You can assume this because the official currency of Brunei is the Bruneian dollar, and the price of fuel here is around 0.53 Bruneian dollars. That means the starting point is zero, which is why I said almost zero. So, if we talk about this country, its beginnings began with a small village perched on water, which is also known as “One of the Largest and Oldest Floating Villages” or “Water Villages” in the world, and is known locally as “Kampong Ayer.” So, in today’s video, we ‘re going to show you Brunei. Specifically, what Brunei used to be like. In other words, the ultra- modern, wealthy, luxurious lifestyle we see in Brunei Country today. Its origins were in Camp Iyer, located on the other side of the Brunei River. The Brunei River connects Brunei Country . So, I’m already at the jetty area, or the waterfront area . From here, we’ll take a boat and travel around the water village . So, let’s see what the experience is like, and I’ll try to share with you all what we experience there throughout this video . So, this is the waterfront area, or the jetty area, from where you can travel using their small boats, especially speedboats. So, we’re currently in the main city center, or the downtown area, of Brunei’s capital city, Bandarsari Begawan. This is a landmark you’ll find . From here, there are various boarding points like this. You can come here and go to the section you see in front of you. The basic, local fare for just crossing from here is just one Brunei dollar. But if you want to take the entire boat ride here, some will charge around $10, $20, or $30. Brother, you’ll see a lot of crocodiles in this river, called the Brunei River. There are a lot of crocodiles. And look, there’s a proper warning here: ” Be careful, brother, because you’ll see a lot of dangerous crocodiles underwater here,” and there have been numerous incidents. No, bro, just cross. A brother is calling me there.” I want to cross that side only. Two and one , or people, just one, cross only, or just cross, thank you. $1, right, or no, round, round, only drop, okay, that’s it, thank you. What’s your name? Ali, Ali, Ali, thank you, brother. So this is Ali, brother. This is their local boat here, so if you want to go the whole way, you’ll have to talk to them, otherwise they’ll take you to the jetty area and drop you off there , brother, but if there’s a fish, literally a crocodile, there’s a crocodile in it. So, look, I think it’s hardly a minute, not even 30 seconds, and I’ve already reached their Jetty Two section from the other side. So let’s pay the brother. This is Jetty Two. It’s written like that in some local language. And this was my boat, for which I had crossed from the downstream side, from the other side, to this side, by paying just one Brunei dollar . So, this river you see is the Brunoi River of Brunei, which I think measures 40 to 41 kilometers in length. So, guys, welcome to Ancient Brunei, the capital city of the Ancient Brunei Empire. This is the place where all the people of the Brunei country lived during the time of the Brunoi Empire. All those residents used to live in this area, this water village. So this is its first impression, first look: Kampong Ayer, which is called Kampong Ayer in the local language. You can also call it a floating village or water village, which is one of the largest and oldest floating villages in the world. So, I think this is a lodge here. First, show me the Kuni Seven Lodge, which I think is right in front. And when you come here, you’ll see the locality, the neighborhood, and different sections. Here you’ll see many houses and homes perched on the water. This is a town. This is a village, and in ancient times, it used to be the capital of Brunei. Why did I say “ancient”? This question might be coming to your mind right now. So, because people have been living here for thousands of years. That’s why it’s called “ancient.” This means that the ultra-modern, ultra-rich, super-expensive, posh, and high-end lifestyle you see in Brunei actually began in this place, which you can see behind me. So let’s explore the net worth of the world’s second-richest monarch, the Sultan, his lifestyle, the lifestyle of the local people living in his country, their food habits, and how Brunei progressed from here. All the houses you’ll see here are perched above water like this: concrete pillars, and on top of those concrete pillars, wood, especially hardwood, has been used. Most of these houses are built using that hardwood and have tin sheds on top. You’ll find all of these houses built like this. To enter, you’ll find a wooden bridge like this. But, brother, we’ll have to pay a little attention , because you’ll see a lot of crocodiles here. But I’m still wondering how people live here. But you can see a little bit of water in this area yourself. It must be quite clean. This is a house in front. I think this is the community launch here. I’ll walk inside the launch and show you. I think it’s locked from the inside? There ‘s something written like ‘Shoes Steps’. It’s a nice sign. They’ve already written ‘No Entry’. But this lodge looks really lovely, very beautiful. The design is something like this. All the marine life is painted all over this door. This is the branding. But it looks like a very beautiful lodge. I ‘ll try to show you the inside as well. This is the view from inside, brother. I think, look, there are proper ACs and other things installed here. There’s an AC in someone’s house right in front. I’m a little scared, though, that if I slip, I’ll fall straight into a crocodile’s mouth. You’ll see all kinds of crocodiles here, from small to large. And I think this entire area you see, from here on out, is a lodge built here. So imagine if there are hotels like this. If you want to come and stay with these people , you can come and stay. I saw another house here, and wow, even here, think about it, the exits are marked like this. Meaning, where to turn left and right, and where not to. Some of the wood looks quite worn and worn, man. Everything has been hammered together with a thimble. And all the houses here are numbered. Look at this. So this is 129C, and I think this letterbox is right there. There’s a bit of excitement about showing you this entire village, and a bit of nervousness as well. But anyway, you ‘ll find plenty of tour guides here who will help you explore this entire water village if you want to. Otherwise, you can visit individually, as far as I know. Otherwise, let’s see what the experience is like. So, these are some of the houses here, but so far I’m seeing all of them are single-floor. Maybe later on, we’ll see some double or triple-floor ones. Look, all the different interconnections are built like this. This one is a connection here. So, if you want to visit all these houses on this side, you can go here. Walk from here and go a little further. I think this one in front looks like a restaurant. Let’s go and see it. But it’s around 11 or 11:30 in the afternoon. Brother, everyone is indoors. I can see it. I can see proper air conditioning everywhere here. And along with that, I also got to see the Dish TV tower in front. The national flag of Brunei is very colorful and very impressive. So, look here too, this house number is 126 C. And you’ll see a little distance between one house and the other. The gap is quite good. Meaning, the design of the houses here is also very systematic. It doesn’t feel congested here. You can see for yourself. They’ve maintained a good gap between one house and the other. Look at this. So, this house is so big. And houses are quite big, man. Look at this house. There’s some nice glass inside. There are curtains and such. There’s a flag hanging outside like this. They’ve installed lighting, festoons, and so on. And look at this house also. How big is this house and how big is this house. Even though it is in water but despite that proper AC, electricity, water etc. have been supplied here I think. Namaste Namaste. Friend I just met Dadi, oh Namaste. Oh ah India Mumbai. Yes, you India? India, India, Mumbai, Mumbai. Thank you. Thank you Dadi. Ah how are you? Dada. English no? A Malay. Malay. Malay. Oh my English English. English. Okay. So friend this Dadi is looking very cute, isn’t she? So look, she is resting like this. I think. Your house? Your house. Or oh your house oh and son son daughter work husband go go they have gone for work okay okay shaved kar ok so grandma is saying something in the local language mal language and this is their house cc cc ok okay okay okay thank you thank you so this is grandma’s house I thought I’d show a little bit of the local people’s house so look here they have planted a lot of trees and plants etc. So they have planted this papaya tree here . There might be some different kinds of fruits too. Most of them are pots. Grandma has planted all the different kinds of showpiece trees etc. and look here they have a proper separate section. Like this for these birds. I think these are all different pigeons brother who are currently locked in cages here. But look at their sounds. You listen. I’ll be quiet for a while. Look, I think I haven’t even been in this area for 15 minutes, but because it’s a seaside and a body of water, the humidity is quite high. You might be seeing a lot of sweat all over my face. So, my entire trip to Southeast Asia this time was similar . I ‘ve never felt the heat so intensely. The rest of the house is fine. Look, the tin shed up here is used as a shade. All the other wood you see is hardwood. They use hardwood to build the entire house . The aluminum windows, etc., are installed. They’ve used glass for the windows. In this way, they’ve created the entire living arrangement entirely from wood. In a way, their entire balcony, which is the living area outside, they’ve maintained it all. Show me every house here. Look, there’s a suggestion box. If you have any suggestions, you can enter them here. It’s numbered 125C, which is also the number of their house, 125C. Now, you can see that electricity is properly supplied here, and the meter details are completely and properly installed. It’s not as if these people living above water will steal electricity. It’s not like that; it’s completely organized, and everything is free. I must have told you here that electricity, water, medical care, and education are free, all provided by their government . They get everything for free from their king and their government. So, this entire area you see, situated above a body of water, is called Brunoi Campog Aire in the country of Brunei. Spread across a radius of around 10 square kilometers, this area currently has a population of around 300, with numerous sub-villages dotted throughout. If you look closely, you’ll find 28 to 30 different small towns and villages within it . You’ll find people living here for nearly 1,000 years. You’ll get to see it, and it’s really cool. I’ve especially experienced it in Benin, Africa, which is also known as one of the world’s largest floating villages. I’ve also seen it in Nigeria and in many other countries. But of all of them, the most beautiful, the cleanest, the most systematically organized I saw was in Kampong Ayer, Brunei. You should experience it yourself. Notice the cleanliness here; you won’t see trash, dirt, polythene, or dust anywhere in the entire water. I found the entire area to be very clean. There are some issues with some passages here as well. Wood. Actually, all the wood has been nailed to the rafters, and some of it has just come out. I think it needs repair . It feels completely empty, man. It feels like I can’t see anyone in this entire water village. It’s completely empty. Look at this. I think this is a restaurant. It’s even written like that. It’s called something like that. I haven’t seen a single crocodile in it yet. But it’s said that when the water level is high, crocodiles go down deep inside. And when the water level is low, you’ll find them in the uppermost layer. But you ‘ll see a lot of them, brother. That’s why it’s also called the Venice of the East, because people call it a city completely submerged. Can we see such a lifestyle in such a small water settlement ? I wasn’t expecting this. I thought it would be a small area and maybe lack any cleanliness. But here, everything I’m seeing is next-level. So, I think this is someone’s house, with a sign that says Jabal Rahma House 19. It’s right here. I think they’ll ask for permission. But wow, what a view! I think, look at how large their area is outside, and they’ve set up a proper garden, chairs, etc., just like this. Look, the absolutely royal style you’ve seen in various parts of this country, you ‘ll see it here too. I think, look, close and open. I think this is a mobile number. There’s a bell. Something like that is written here. I think, look, it says, “Please remove your shoes before entering the house.” So, it’s not like you’ll just walk in anyway. The entire gate here looks like it’s made entirely of gold. It looks like it’s all gold, because there’s so much gold in the country, you’ll get to see that here too. There’s a Brunei flag here too . A few wires and such are similar. But look everywhere: proper power poles, and a good electricity connection to every home. Lights, and streetlights, are all installed here. You can see this above. The rest of the house is quite large. You can see the cat in front, resting. I think this entire living area must be an outdoor sitting area. Now, look at the number of fans—one, two, three, four, five —electricity supply, proper AC, everything, chairs— you’ll find everything in excellent condition here. I didn’t expect these things here, literally, what I ‘m seeing here. Please tell me in the comments: where else have you seen this kind of water disposal so clean before? In which video? In which series? Which country did you see this from? Please do let me know in the comments. Now, brother, I saw this girl drying her clothes outside. So, I think there must be drying facilities inside as well. But the sun is so intense here, so people must be hanging their clothes outside to dry like this . So, look at this too, I just saw this grandmother, and this prisoner. Otherwise, I can’t see anyone around here, friend. This is only a little bit of the area I can see. I think this is the most ruined area I ‘ve seen so far. The houses there are a little bit broken. The bridges, etc., are also broken. There are many different intersections like this connecting one place to another. Bridges are built like this here. So, after using them, look back at the bridge. The pillars on top are all concrete. Above that, they’ve built the entire bridge using wood. You’ll see the entire building made of wood. All the sheds on top are tin sheds. And brother, in many houses, I think almost 60-70% of the houses, people have local TVs installed. Now, notice for yourself: I’ve been in almost the entire courtyard of this house for so long. I’m just walking around. But no one has come out yet, even after hearing my voice. So, in terms of safety and security, why is this country called a crime-free country? I think this is one of the biggest examples. And by the way, look here too, everywhere there are cameras, CCTV cameras, and stalls. So, I really liked this country for all these things. There’s not much to explore. There are two or three main mosques, some parks, etc. If you want to explore the rest of the world, like their water settlement bodies, you can go there and do that . There are some shopping malls, etc. You can visit a couple of them, like The Mall, in the Gadong area. So, this is the lifestyle of Brunei, the people here, and their lifestyle. I’ll go and explore different parts a little bit and see what I can find. This house, I think, I just went there and saw a house that looked quite dilapidated. Otherwise, most of the houses I saw were in good condition. It’s not like that. You can see this kind of lifestyle in some areas. For example, this house is completely dilapidated. So, it’s a very historical area. I told you, and I’ve had a lot of problems here, because even in Brunei, you experience disasters like that. Look, everywhere here is completely marked. Proper signs have been put up, and the names are written in the local language. I think the street name is something like this. It has different sections. This is also someone’s house. You ‘ll see letter boxes, suggestion boxes everywhere. All the houses are really nice from the outside. They’re colorful. I think there’s an uncle here. Let’s go and see. Oh, hello. Hello uncle. I think the uncle is busy working. So, here, I think he’s playing music, or the radio. There are photo frames and other things like this. There are cameras installed here too. So, if some people have a little space, they’ve expanded it and created these dining arrangements, like cafe areas, restaurants, etc., for sitting, eating, and drinking. Brother, let me show you a unique thing. I found this bird and it is making different kinds of sounds. Literally, you should notice it now. Listen to its voice. I don’t know with whom this bird is talking. Oh my God , my God, literally brother, that is its voice. You must be thinking that someone is talking to each other. I too was surprised as to whom this brother is talking to. So now I understand that it is talking to itself and after listening to different sounds of every bird, it is making different sounds here. Literally brother, I calm down again . Then you hear, ” Oh my god, super duper crazy! Wow, it’s amazing! Just look at the landscape ahead. Just a moment ago, I was showing you some different types of houses, but a little further on, I saw these kinds of second-floor, two-story houses. Can you find such nice, high-end houses in a waterbody settlement ? I think if any of you have experienced this somewhere, please let me know in the comments. But here , you can see the standard to which the houses are built. Literally, you can see the water below, but it’s not that the water is dirty. The water is very clean, even though its color may appear slightly green, but they have maintained it very clean. Cleanliness has been taken care of. And above that, there’s a full concrete pillar, and above that, a considerable height, because crocodiles are abundant here. Because of this , you will find heights at such levels everywhere and then you can call the entire house a good VIP house, friend, you can see for yourself, it is not quite spacious either. Everyone will be living in a single room, the bedroom, living room, kitchen, everything is properly designed. So, this uncle whose house I just visited, where I heard the bird sound, look here too, he has done gardening in this way, etc. He has also done some decorations, etc. So, in every part, he has placed flower pots using drums etc. There is also a tin shed here. Look, this is how people are drying their clothes here . Here too, I saw the brand name of the company which they use for the TV disc. In this clip, you can see that this family is sitting here with their entire family, watching entertainment TV etc. And look at the cleanliness inside, this entire area was so spacious. So, it is built like this. These are some of the other parts. I think some of these are also undergoing repairs in some of the houses here. So you can see this here, I think this is a water pipe, which I just realized. Drinking water is supplied everywhere, to every home, and look, there’s a proper meter installed. A connection must have been made to the meter, and look, there’s a connection here too. A joint is installed, and this is how water is supplied to the homes. I thought it might have been used for drainage. But drinking water is supplied to this entire area through this. Hey, I even saw lanterns and such. Look, I think they might have tried to decorate this place like a restaurant. They’ve hung a small lamp here. You’ll see flower pots everywhere. Now, look at this. This is a proper, well- built house here. Look at this section. Wow. So, this Kampong Ayer in Brunei is known as the largest water settlement in Southeast Asia. Around 30 kilometers long, a wooden walkway bridge has been built within it. What you see is an area of approximately 30 kilometers . This walkway bridge is made using wood. The main public transport for the residents here is boats. People use these boats to move around. It ‘s all speedboats here. I didn’t see a single paddle boat. So, many of you told me to go to Brunei’s poorest area and try to show it. So, I think this area is one that you could consider one of Brunei’s poorest areas . But beyond that , you’ll find the living standards here quite good . In other words, they’re well-maintained. This is because Brunei’s Human Development Index ranking is around 55th globally . This is considered quite good, considering their rulers take care of their people in every way. They’ve provided access to everything, mostly free of charge. Because of this , despite living here, you’ll find these people quite happy. Meaning, they have no complaints about anything , even in this water body. You ‘ll definitely notice this throughout the video, as I observed. Also, look at this, there are proper, nice, small roundabouts built here. Now, imagine this, they’ve created a square like this, where you can sit and relax a bit. They’ve maintained the gardening there, too. And what they’ve done to the pillars is that they ‘ve placed the entire concrete pillar on top of it. And streetlights are installed properly. Now, think about the need for streetlights here? But still, proper streetlights are installed. Where to take a U-turn, that is, which right direction to take, which left direction to take, is clearly mentioned. I think this is a school or something. This section. There’s a lot of fencing around it. This must be the control room. I think this is the area where all these people related to safety and security work, so a large ground area has been created like this. But one thing I didn’t understand was where their washrooms, toilets, etc. would be. Because if it’s inside this house, where did they get the drainage from? It’s a bit concerning. But even then, if I zoom in on the back of the house and show you, you won’t see any of the bathroom waste floating on the water. The best thing I found was that basically, in every water treatment facility you visit, you’ll see kitchen and toilet waste floating on the lower water surface. But I didn’t see any of that here. I’m sure that’s why I didn’t notice any smells here at all . Everything is perfectly clean and organized. I think this is probably a restaurant too. I don’t know if it’s a restaurant or something, but the atmosphere feels somewhat similar, and it’s empty. Look, I saw a small bicycle here, brother. How would he ride it? Or this selfie, I think, is a selfie point here. It must have been placed here solely for photography. People must be coming and taking photos, because I don’t think it ‘s possible to take it there and drive it around . In this water village, you’ll also find the chief who manages this entire area. I think, you ‘ll also find the chief here . Hello, a restaurant, this area. No, any school, school, yes, no. So, I was asking this uncle, “Brother, where is the school?” Where is the restaurant? Uncle smiled a little, then looked at me angrily. Maybe he didn’t like it, so I’m just doing my job. I was telling you that you ‘ll find a school here. There’s a small hospital here. There’s a fire station here, too . There’s a police station here. I showed you hotels and hostels . You can find them here. Hello, hello. Hello, hello, how are you? Oh, thank you, thank you. How are you? I’m super nice. Just walking around. Where are you from? I’m from India, Mumbai. Brother, this patch is a little dangerous because all the wood is uprooted and exposed. I ‘m feeling thirsty and hungry right now. I feel both. So, I heard there’s a restaurant here. I asked a grandmother, and she was a very sweet grandmother whose house I showed you. So, some people here don’t like it because Brunei doesn’t get that many people anyway. Now, it’s camera-friendly, so if you look at it in a few videos, people will like to talk to you by waving their hands or something . I think this is a really lovely little cafe, a restaurant , I don’t know what it is. But you can see it behind me. I ‘ll try to show it a little bit . Wow friend, it is a very cute, very beautiful house, it is a restaurant, it is a cafe, there is something about it, I really liked its layout, I think it must be someone’s house, firstly, everyone is inside the house, it is daytime, it is hot, so I am not seeing anyone outside, hello hello, I think if we ring the bell, we will get to know, rest you see, wow friend, I think till now, in this entire video, if I found any house to be the most beautiful in terms of decoration, it is these lanterns, lamps, flowers, vases, baskets like this, the entire area is decorated in the old style, buckets etc., look at this, he has decorated his entire house with all the items and a proper color combination, a very vibrant, colorful ambiance which should be there, every effort has been made to give it. Plants etc., look at this, he has made it . That is, the entire bouquet, the proper pot set has been prepared. Different pots have been placed. Flowers have been planted. Some houses have access points from this side, i.e., the houses at the back. They’ve created a path on the side, leaving a small portion of the path above the water on the side of this house . I think you could call this one of the cleanest water settlement area villages or towns. The way everything here is designed, the cleanliness I saw. For a moment, I thought about the other side of this place, because no matter how beautiful something is, we also get to hear and see a little bit of its deep and dark history. So , I thought you should definitely see this slightly less beautiful part of this water village. It should be shown so you can see both sides. You’ll definitely notice a few dilapidated houses and a slight lack of cleanliness in this area. And if I zoom in and show you, I can see some clothes, some water bottles, etc. This area is a bit dirty as well. I think you’ll also see a bit of mangrove forest here. You might notice that here. Look, there’s a school here. As I told you, the school children are going home after their studies. Now, look for yourself: a proper crosswalk, a proper cemented road, has been built, and tin sheds are placed on top of it. And look at this, it ‘s all iron framing. It’s angled. It’s designed that way. So it looks proper. If I don’t consider the water underneath, you’ll literally feel like you’re strolling through a posh neighborhood. You ‘ll get a similar feeling here, and I think this area and town have been given proper literal names, which you can read here. I think it all looks like we don’t have 2 BHK or 3 BHK houses here. It’s all like that. You’ll see the luxury posh houses here. They’re all numbered. They must be earning a lot of money. These are the houses of those people you can see here. Look, this is a very lovely house, a beautiful house. You’ll also get to see this. You can see it, it’s watching me, what are you talking about it? What do you say? How are you, my friend? I’m showing it to you. The whole world is watching you right now, sitting like this in the camps of the Bronoi country. I think this must be someone’s home, their own stomach. They’ve kept it here as a stomach . So I was thinking that this is just the big one here. But look, there’s one here and one here. There are three in total. Either it ‘s his children, or it’s possible I saw three eagles together here. Right in front of this one, I think, there’s a proper food shop, and it ‘s marked “Open/Close.” So, I think it’s open right now. That’s why they’ve opened this open one. If you press the bell, I think they’ll come and open it. Local Bruneians from Brunei also live here. They’ve been living there since the beginning. But I think the nice houses you see here in this condition belong to local Bruneians. The rest of the houses you see in the lower part are all Indonesians and Malaysians who have been living here for a long time, or who come here for work. They live in the city because it’s so expensive, so they come here for that reason. Look , the boatmen are resting here. Because it’s sunny, people usually park their boats and other things in the lower part of the house, rest there, and so on. Before entering each house, look at this, the proper way to close the doors is something like this. Look at this house, you’ll see a similar concept . They’ve properly closed the iron door with the grille and other things like that. And in the upper part of each house, you’ll see the national flag of the country woven in one place. Hello , hello, how are you? I’m good. Oh , thanks, your name? Akeli Sham. Oh, so you’re from here? Yes. Oh, so, which class are you in? Seven, seven, eh, oh, so you’re coming from school? Yes. Now going home. Yes. Oh nice nice nice. Do you know something about India? Not really. Not really. But still anything which you want to share? No. Okay. Nice to meet you. Thank you so much, yes. Thank you. Thank you. Bye. Bye. Wow friend, the house, brother, I think it will win my heart here, you will get to see sofas and chairs, well, posh class type houses here, brother, this area has won my heart, brother, I think you probably don’t know whether anyone has shown this part or not, but literally you can see the way people have installed proper tiles etc. here, you can imagine, there are rollers in the door, I think the shutter is fully fitted, only after rolling it will it open properly and the door. So friend, I think guys, this is this kampong located inside Bandarseri Begawan Capital City of this country Brunei. Ayer, known as a water village and floating village, is what I tried to show you. Well, let’s talk about Brunei. If you look at Google Maps, Brunei appears to be divided into two parts. Its eastern side is called Tamburum. Around 10% of the country’s population lives in that area. The remaining inhabitants live in Bandarseri Begawan, which falls within the Brunei Muvara district. There are two other districts here: Wilayat Karke, where the main oil refinery is located, and Tatong, which, by the way, is not a state within Brunei. Here, you’ll find only districts , meaning you’ll see a total of four districts. Within these four districts, the entire country’s population is distributed , numbering around 450,000. So, it’s a very small country. I think the entire coastal area is 160-161 kilometers. If you go from one end to the other, the entire country ends . So, this is the atmosphere, brother. Look, I’ve just returned from exploring this village and reached the almost dead end jetty area. I think some renovation work is going on in this area. Now, I think this might be a government building. This house you see in front, and if you cross it, there are different jetty points there too . Going to any part, you can take a boat back from the city center to this camper, and from the camper, you can go back to the city center. For example, look, there’s a lady standing there waiting. A normal boat will come and pick her up, so she will cross from here and go there. Look, just as I said, a boat has already arrived in front . So, look, there’s a proper gym here, too. They’ve installed one. I think locals who want to access it can do so by making a payment . It’s also written there that it’s for men. Next to it , you see, there’s a small cafe area, a restaurant-like structure . It also appears to be closed for now. No one is visible for miles. And here, an entire photo of His Majesty the Sultan and various other objects have been tried to be displayed in this entire photo frame. So, in Brunei, this is the skyline. These are the skyscrapers. You won’t see a building bigger than this anywhere else. In the entire country of Brunei, this is all you can see. For the first time, I couldn’t tell when I entered the country or when I entered the capital city, because the entire country was gone by that time. So guys, this was my boat, which I took from Kampong Ayer and crossed over to this side and finally came back to the city center where we started this video today. So, it’s very sunny right now, brother. The situation is getting worse. So let’s go and eat something first. Let’s have lunch. Let ‘s rest a bit. Also, the phone is heating up so much, brother. I can’t record . It keeps shutting down. And literally, my eyes are burning. I feel like that. So, let’s rest a bit, friend. [Music]

No, electricity and gas are not free in Brunei, but they are heavily subsidized by the government, resulting in very low prices for citizens. While residents must still pay for these utilities, the costs are capped by government policies and are significantly lower than international prices, making them highly affordable.
