This Lovely Town In Korea STILL Makes Me HAPPY!! ❤️

Did anybody come to this restaurant
after watching the YouTube video? Yeah. Many! A lot! Good.
Good. Good.
Good. Good. Hey. it’s been a long time! Uh, this is the representative
food of this region. Okay. Hey, good morning from Goesan I think I’m saying that right. I’m not sure. A lot of the names in Korea
look and sound pretty similar. Goesan, I think, is where I’m at. A little small town. Looks like they’re getting ready
for a festival in a couple days. The Red Pepper Festival looks pretty fun. I was checking it out online. I came up here to show you a
nice view of the river here. And uh yeah, they’re they’re spraying
for mosquitoes right now, I think. And so it’s pretty wild. They uh they drive down the streets in those vehicles that just shoot smoke out the
back of it, like huge plumes of smoke. It’s thick, too. And so the first time I saw it, I was like trying to run away cuz it
obviously it doesn’t look healthy. It doesn’t look good to be
inhaling that smoke obviously, but I was looking around and
like no one else seemed to care. Like I’m guessing, you know, in
small amounts I’m guessing it’s okay. But anyways, today we’re getting out of here. Today we’re going to go to Yeonpung Really excited. Uh more on that later. But first, let’s go get a bite to eat. I’m hungry. Let’s go get some coffee. Go get a kimbap and uh start the date. Let’s do it. Allighty. And this is what we’re going to do for breakfast. These might be my favorite
restaurants in all of Korea. They have about a million things on the menu. All different types of Korean food. They’re open early. They stay open late. They’re fantastic and they’re super cheap. But the quality of the food is pretty good. It’s all fresh ingredients. They make it up from scratch
right when you order it. Yeah. This is uh what I had for dinner, too. But like I said, there uh there’s
so many things on the menu. You can eat a different thing every single time. Yep. That is what I had for dinner. Let’s go eat a kimbap. Do a kimchi kimbap. Kimchi Kimbap Yeah. H They’ll always have the kimbap station right here. Ready to go. It’s all perfectly placed. Not messy at all. Clean. Get the rice. Get the seaweed. Add a fishcake, more seaweed or
the we got the pariila leaves. So finish done. Just like that. Quick. And for 3500 W. Can’t beat it. Can’t beat it. Looking like we have a beautiful day today. It’s cloudy. Feels nice and cool out, especially
compared to how hot it’s been lately. Just hope Just hope it doesn’t rain. Give me a sec. Those cicadas are loud. And so today, we’ve got about
26 kilometers to get to Yeonpung Slightly uphill. Not too bad, but hopefully we’ll
have some nice views the whole way. Ah, feels so good outside. It feels so good. Thank you, clouds. Thank you, clouds. So freaking beautiful, man. And the thing is, I’ll be back on this
course, I think, tomorrow, actually. So, I’m just going up there for one day, and then I’ll be linking up with a
friend actually to ride to Gunsan So, I’m going up there, say hello,
and then going right back here. That’s why I took a bus to get here, so I
didn’t have to do a lot of the trail twice. But jeez, beautiful views out here. Are you kidding me? Gorgeous. All righty. And welcome back to Yeonpung I can see the church from here. So, a lot of you might be asking like, why are you heading back to this small
little town in the middle of nowhere? Well, last year when I did the Busan
to Incheon tour, it’s pretty cool. I stopped in this town. I had just finished the grueling
uphill that you have to do. I think it’s that mountain right there
that you kind of have to get over. There’s one high mountain that you have to climb
from Busan to Incheon and that’s it right there. And after I did the decline, I was hungry
and I wandered into this little town and I had lunch and I met a mother and
a daughter and they were so nice. They invited me to stay in like the community
center and then I met a really nice old man, a taxi driver who came and
said hello and brought me uh Korea’s number one moon pies and uh I
don’t know, it was just a special moment. And that was also my first trip in Korea. And so that was before I
had one subscriber in Korea. And so it was a special moment. It was not my first like viral video here. But that video did really well. It has I think over 500,000 views. There’s people who have clipped it and
there’s one that has like 6.1 million views. And so anyways, that’s the backstory. That’s why I’m going to go back and say
hello and go have lunch cuz I’m starving. The food I had last year was so good. I was just watching the video cuz I want to
show her like that’s exactly what I want. And so hopefully I can meet the family. Hopefully I can meet the taxi driver. And uh we’ll see. We’ll see. So let’s let’s head into town. There’s the city hall. Hopefully they’re open. I hope. All right, they look open. Awesome. Hey Good to see you. Good to see you. You too. Ah, what? Hey, good, good, good. Oh my gosh, look at all that. That looks so good. It almost looks like Indonesian
style like the Nasi Campur places. They have all the the dishes right here. I think she was saying last time she
didn’t realize I was I was filming, but uh she knows now because I think a lot of
people have come here since watching that video. [Applause] Oh man, that looks freaking good. Just like I remembered it. And uh not only that, they’ve
uh outdone themselves. They’ve dropped off 10 side dishes. And so this was the place
last year when I realized, oh, you can, you know, eat as many
of the side dishes as you want. And so it’s kind of unlimited. Man, this looks so freaking good. Oo, man. [Music] Has that sweet and sour sauce on it. I’m dripping. [Music] So much, man. This is going to fill me up. So good. So good. So happy. [Music]
She dropped off some of the thick cold soup again. Last time the mother daughter like they
let me try a little bit of theirs I think. And actually no, she made me some last time too. Like a small order just like just like last time. So nice. So good. The best. Number one. Number one. Number one. I went to Japan Yeah. Okay. Okay.
Sorry. Sorry.
Sorry. One more time. Are you in? Yes. Yes.
Yes. I used to live in Japan for 11 years. Korea. Korea. Good. Korea is good. Look at that. So thick. Mhm. Bicycle. Mhm. [Music] Did anybody come to this restaurant
after watching the YouTube video? Yeah. Mini. Good. No. Good.
Good. Good.
Good. Good. Thank you guys. From Seoul Wow. Oh man, this is good. That’s so thick. Come out. Come out. All right. Come. [Laughter] Thank you so much. She’s very sweet, very nice. So, uh, yeah, everybody come
check this place out again. And yeah, I was asking her if many people had
come here and she said, “Yeah, which is awesome.” Oh my gosh, I’m stuffed. I’m stuffed. It was delicious. It was good. Now, I got to find the chief, the
head of the village somewhere. Let’s go do it. Uh, but yeah, I went by the city hall. They’re not out of soul there. And so I guess I’ll go back to that place I had
a bingsu, chill out, and then I don’t know. Hopefully I can see them. I’m stuffed, but I couldn’t help myself. I came here actually. I wanted to order one of those ice creams
right there, but they’re all sold out. And so I was like, you know what? Let’s just do a bingsu even though
I am already stuffed and I want to I just want to lay on this couch and fall asleep. But we’ll give this delicious
looking bingsu a try. Maybe some matcha ice cream,
some to some corn flakes. So, the plan is just to
hang out here, do some work, maybe take a nap, and try to find the family. I want to find that mother, daughter,
and the dad and the taxi driver. So, so I was able to track the family down. This is the uh the daughter’s from last video’s older brother. Younger brother. Yes, younger brother. Younger brother. Younger brother. Okay. And she works at a bank in a
nearby town, so she’s not here. And the father, I think, is busy right now,
but he’s going to come say hello later. So, and the taxi driver, I
might get to see him later, too. So, he’s busy right now doing his things. And so, they are uh kind enough to
let me sleep in city hall again. Hey, Hey, it’s okay. Hello. It’s pretty dog. Pretty dog. Just uh exploring the town a little bit. Just kind of enjoying myself. I mean, it’s just a beautiful place. It really is. I’ve been chilling over there in
a gazebo reading a book and just kind of enjoying the the quietness of this town. Nice school, nice playground, nice field here. I mean, well done. Well done, Yongpun. Hey, Welcome. Welcome. Good to see you. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. Long time no see. One year, huh? One year. One year. Oh, again. Yeah. Number one in Korea. Thank you. Good. [Laughter] And some apples [Applause] Where were you today? Were you working? Oh, yeah. Driving. Driving. Okay. Nice. Nice. Well, it’s very good to see you again. Cool. Yeah. It really is amazing that
that video became so popular. It’s because of you. Ah, no. I think so. I think so. Yeah. I take a picture. Breakfast tomorrow morning. Okay. [Music] It’s also called marsh snail. Okay, let’s try it. I’ll try anything. Oh, okay. Okay. Snail soup. Interesting. Okay. Okay. That’s sounds like an interesting
breakfast, but I’ll do it. Sleep and then I’ll see you in the morning. No. No. Okay. In the morning. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay. Good night. Good night. Okay. All right. Good night. Good night. Oh my gosh. What? What a legend. What a nice guy. Oh, his glasses. Oh no. Oh no. No.
No. I am sorry. I am sorry. It’s okay. No problem. No problem. Okay. Good morning. It is 6:50 on the dot. I’m packed and ready to go. I made sure all my stuff is ready
so when he comes, we can just go. And so, man, it is chilly. Hey, there he is. 650 on the dot. I love it. Okay, let me uh close up. Good morning. Ah, slept very good. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Okay. Right here. Oo. Get to check out his taxi, too. All right. No.
No. No.
No. Go, go, go, go. Oh. Oh. Okay. Come that. Yeah.
Yeah. I think we could have walked here. We w right here. Okay. It’s just down the street. I need to wake up. Probably look super tired. Oh man, this out. It’s going to be a heavy breakfast. That’s a lot of food to eat
right after you wake up. See how we do. Ah, this is the representative
food of this region. Okay, got to try it then. [Music] I thought there were snails in it. Yeah. Yeah, there. Okay. Maybe there maybe there there are snails in it. Okay. Yeah, there are. There are, but they’re already crap. Gotcha. Okay, that’s okay then. That’s okay. Very savory and uh hearty tasting soup. Squirrel food in Korean. It’s acorn muk. Okay. He’s a jokester, too. Squirrel food over here. Made from acorns. Interesting. It’s like a some kind of jelly. Um means a good harvest. In Chinese characters, it means a good harvest. Yeah. Oh, I can tell a good harvest right here. All from all local produce right here. Are you the only taxi driver in this town? There are two drivers. Gotcha. Usually my eyes are open. (if my eyes are open I’m working) I work all the time. Gotcha. Gotcha. Gotcha. I see. Yeah, that makes sense. He’s always on the clock. Yeah, always on the clock. I always like asking taxi drivers this question. From this city, what is the farthest
you’ve ever driven somebody? to Busan? To Seoul? Busan Seoul Oh, okay. Busan. Really? Crazy. Okay. So, gotcha. Gotcha. Gotcha.
Okay. Thank you so much. Come back. Come back. Okay.
Okay, I’ll come back to Yeah. Thank you so much. It was really nice to see you. Okay, take care. All right. All right. See you. Man, that sun is bright. Oh, man. Okay.
Okay. Okay. It really is a beautiful little town, isn’t it? Okay, just completely surrounded
by mountains on all sides. And it’s kind of chilly. I’m not going to lie. Started cycling like, man, it’s kind of cold. 7:45. I think it’s time to get back on the road. From here, we are heading to the
West Coast all the way to Gunsan And so I’ll be linking up with somebody
in Goesan and uh going to go from there. But I think for this video I’m going to end it
and then I’ll start a new one right after this. So thanks for watching guys. Thanks for coming back with me to Yeonpung Hope you guys enjoyed it and
I’ll see you in the next video. Peace. Hey, there he is. Good morning. Good to see you. Hey. Oh, I broke it.

In this video, I make my way back to Yeonpung! The lovely little town that I stopped in last year on my way to Incheon from Seoul.

  1. What another incredible reunion here in Korea. Seeing how happy the restaurant owner and her smile made my day. And the taxi driver, even though we had a hard time communicating, it was so good to see him again and know that he is doing well. And his laugh, wow, such an infectious laugh, isn’t it? 😆

  5. What are you doing Orion? Call Nick and make a nice advertisement with Choco-pie!! / 보고 있나, 오리온?? 뭐 합니까? 빨리 닉 섭외해서 초코파이 광고 안 하고??

  6. Nick!
Thank you for introducing me to this beautiful Korean countryside village.
The people of Yeonpung will always remember their encounter with Nick as a memory they'll cherish forever.
Take care and see you again.

  7. It wasn’t city hall. It’s just like community hall for a village outside a town. Especially It’s useful for older people. They will probably hold a community feast in that space.

  8. You really made a royal entrance for breakfast there, yet it’s so friendly ordinary. I think you're right, mister taxidriver made the video popular last time and will hit it this time again least for me he did . I've always been amazed at how easily you make friends, even in a foreign country where you barely speak the language you somehow make connection. That’s’ truly a gift.
