【立山アルペンルート】立山室堂ターミナルを歩く Murodo Terminal Walk|Tateyama Alpine Route【雨と濃霧】
That’s right, let’s walk around Hokuriku! This time, we’re at “Tateyama Murodo Terminal.” Heavy rain and thick fog make for some seriously awful weather. 😅 Even so, there are still many people in Murodo. This is the ticket office for the Alpine Route. You can also buy tickets for the electric bus to Daikanbo. This is the shop. Opposite the shop is a stand-up soba restaurant called “Tateyama Soba. ” You can also order Toyama’s specialty, “Masu Sushi.” They also sell meat buns in front of the store. This is the restroom. 🚻 Next to it is the Tateyama Summit Simple Post Office . Inside, there’s a coffee shop with ticket vending machines. Inside, there’s a rest area with about 60 seats. You can enjoy coffee made with the famous “Tamadono no Mizu” water and Tateyama’s specialty, “Mikurigaike Ice Cream.” 🍦 Let’s go upstairs. 👟👟 Today’s weather isn’t ideal for strolling, so there are many people waiting inside Murodo. I can’t show you the best view today, but I hope you can experience the authentic atmosphere. ☺️ Let’s head to the rooftop observation deck on the third floor. The thick fog can be seen through the windows. There’s a photo service on the third floor. We head to the rooftop observation deck. This view is pure white! Even with the heavy fog and rain, many people are walking around. Tateyama’s popularity is incredible! 🗻 Let’s head back inside the building. Thanks to the rain, I learned for the first time of the existence of the shrine on the fourth floor. “Oyama Shrine Main Shrine, Old Shrine Building.” Located at the summit of Mount Oyama in Tateyama, the old shrine building has endured harsh natural conditions for 135 years since 1860. Made entirely of zelkova and weighing 7 tons, it’s a valuable historical cultural heritage. If the weather’s clear, the exhibition room looks like it has a great view. Perhaps due to the fog, there ‘s no one there today. It might be a hidden gem among the busy Murodo area, but there are benches where you can relax. ☺️ Next, let’s head to the second floor. 👟👟 The number of people increases from the third floor. If the weather is clear, you can enjoy the Mikurigaike walking course from the rooftop observation deck with a feeling similar to a stroll. On the second floor of Murodo Terminal, there is a restaurant, a cafe, a shop, and the front desk of Hotel Tateyama. Hotel Tateyama’s accommodation services are scheduled to close on August 31, 2026, but restaurants and shops other than accommodation will continue to operate as usual. Next, let’s go back to the first floor and visit the Tateyama Nature Conservation Center next to Murodo. 👟👟 We’ve returned to the first floor. There are not many people on the first floor of Murodo right now. It may be because of the bus time. This is the Bijohira Kino bus stop. Go through the coin lockers and go outside before entering the Tateyama Nature Conservation Center. There is really a lot of fog. Is this the reality of the mountains? On the first floor of the Tateyama Nature Conservation Center, there is a lecture room where videos and lectures are held , and alpine plants and animals are on display. This is the toilet. 🚻 Let’s head up to the second floor. The center has three floors and is a facility where you can learn about the charms of Mt. Tateyama. The second floor is an exhibition floor for nature and culture. This is the Tateyama Aerial Walk, which combines models of the terrain with videos . There are also specimens and panels that introduce and explain in an easy-to-understand manner ptarmigan and alpine plants , as well as exhibits that convey Tateyama faith and the wonders of snow and ice, allowing you to gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between Mt. Tateyama and people. Next, we head to the third floor. This is the “Interaction” floor , where you will find a general counter offering the latest information on mountain climbing and tourism, as well as a desk where you can apply for and receive nature observation tours led by Toyama Prefecture-certified naturalists. You can also access Murodo from the third floor, but it is difficult to get there from outside due to the thick fog. Let’s return to Murodo from the first floor of the center. “Let’s Walk Hokuriku” is a YouTube channel where we take leisurely walks through Toyama, Kanazawa, Noto, and Fukui . 👟👟 From tourist spots to familiar scenery, we deliver natural sounds and subtitled narration, and hope you feel like you ‘re walking with us . ☺️If you like the video, please subscribe and click the like button. 👍️Thank you for watching until the end.

We visited Murodo Terminal, the central hub of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route.
Located at 2,450 meters above sea level, Murodo is the largest station along the route, accessible from both the Toyama and Nagano sides.
This video captures a day of heavy rain and dense fog, showing what it’s like to explore the terminal and nearby facilities when the famous mountain views are hidden.
Inside the terminal, you’ll find Restaurant Tateyama, Tea Lounge Rindo, and souvenir shops offering trekking gear and local goods.
The Tateyama Nature Conservation Center features exhibits on alpine plants, the iconic ptarmigan (raicho), the history of mountain worship, and the mysteries of snow and ice.
On the 4th floor, the former Oyama Shrine main hall is preserved and displayed, telling the story of faith and culture in the Tateyama mountains.
Even on rainy or foggy days, Murodo is worth visiting as you can still experience the rich nature, history, and culture of the Japanese Alps.
Murodo Terminal is also the starting point for sightseeing highlights such as Mikurigaike Pond and Daikanbo Viewpoint, making it an essential stop on any Toyama trip or Alpine Route journey.
Enjoy this relaxing walk video as travel inspiration or background ambience.
