We chose something famous in Sangju, and while I wouldn’t know where Sangju’s cucumbers are famous, it’s a bit disappointing that the only ingredient is cucumber . One of our randomly assigned team members has a cucumber allergy and can’t eat cucumbers. That part is a little disappointing. Most people stayed for two nights and three days at accommodations run by the Seoul branch . It was a bit far for the three of us, me and two men. It wasn’t a guesthouse, but more like a bed and breakfast. This place was a bit more remote, completely local. Right next door was a cozy country house. When you open the door , you’re greeted by a view of rice paddies and practically no lights around. The stars were so clear. It’s the first time in a long time that I’ve seen this many stars. There’s a village pavilion, and this morning, I briefly visited a nearby place called Gonggeomji. It’s a reservoir with a ton of lotus flowers in full bloom. I thought lotus flowers bloomed in the morning. I woke up too late, so I couldn’t see many. There were a lot of lotus leaves, but the manager told me to just follow this path up. Well, I could go by motorcycle, so I came here with half-heartedness, but this place is just a completely unpaved wild off-road road, and I wondered if there were many roads like this. There seemed to be car tire tracks, but since I had already entered, it was a bit ambiguous to go back, so I was worried that the difference in length would be too great . [Music] The lotus flowers are at the very end of this embankment road, so I had to go all the way to the other side. There are a lot of lotus flowers over there. The 12-sided road ended here. As expected, nature is alive in places untouched by humans, but you can’t see much of it up close, and I’m driving off-road. I used to drive a lot in places where there were no roads, and I got a lot of flat tires back then, and I’d change my own spare tire and stuff like that, and I thought about that a lot. But on my way back last night, I saw a farm-like thing, and the farm lights were red. Oh, that was really scary. Why are they red? It was really scary driving alone at night. I was driving alone on a mountain road without any lights, and there were only red farms like this. It wasn’t just one or two; most of the farms I saw had red lights. Today’s schedule is aromatherapy, so I’m making perfume. Here, the school has built some kind of observatory. There’s a class on a tree in front, making oxo-soo perfume. When I looked at the schedule, it said one hour for perfume making and one hour for turpentine, but it looks like the aromatherapy alone is two hours. The class is taught by a local instructor, Kang Seon, who lives in Sangju. Since it’s a large group of people, young and old, I think it’s a program that most people can relate to . However, the class content is n’t something I’m particularly interested in, so I was looking forward to the Haring . I came today dressed in a garden set, and it seems like the garden is like this. They used the playground as the first field, but the garden isn’t maintained at all . There aren’t any crops, and it’s a bit desolate. There are no avocados or cucumbers. Yes. The low-hanging ones are avocados, and they’ve grown really big. Tomatoes. Wow , there are so many tomatoes. Since it’s done by young people, it’s a bit less maintenance. Of course, they can pick and eat them, but I think it’s a bit difficult to manage them diligently and eat them . Most of them are in their early to mid-20s, so I’d expect them to be around mid-20s. It’s not easy to manage these things at that age . I’d like to try picking corn, panoba, and things like that.
