Koyoshima island is an island floating in the Seto Inland Sea in Sakaide City, Kagawa Prefecture. On Koyoshima Island, where high-quality granite is produced, the remains of a stone quarry that continued for over 400 years remain. The stones here were also used for the stone walls of Osaka Castle during the 15th century. In 1955, when the quarrying industry was at its peak, as many as 190 islanders lived there. There are currently two people. Years of quarrying have exhausted the stone, and the island’s quarries have fallen into ruin. Today, there are many ponds that were created by water that accumulated after the mining site. The black kite is flying gracefully. Let’s fly together for a while. In 1988, the 12.3km long Seto Ohashi Bridge was opened, connecting Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture and Sakaide City, Kagawa Prefecture. One of the islands that served as the piers for the bridge was Yoshima, where Japan’s first maritime expressway parking area was established. In 1989, the year after the Seto Ohashi Bridge opened, Yoshima attracted 7.74 million tourists. The luxury resort hotel, Aqua Koyoshima, was also built on Koyoshima island. There was even a plan to build a ropeway between the islands and Yoshima, but once the boom ended, the number of tourists suddenly decreased. In the 1990s, the number decreased to 2.5 million people per year. The hotel “Aqua Koyoshima” is rarely open, and as you can see, it is in ruins. Thank you for watching.

小与島（こよしま）は香川県坂出市の瀬戸内海に浮かぶ島です。良質の花崗岩が産出する小与島（こよしま）には、４００年以上も続いた石切り場の跡が残ります。

ここの石は戦国時代（15世紀）に大坂城の石垣にも使われました。最も採石業が盛んだった1955年頃には190名もの島民が住まれていたそうです。現在は2名との事です。
長年の採石で石は枯渇し、島の石切り場は廃墟となりました。現在は採掘場後に水がたまってできた多くの池があります。
1988年に岡山県倉敷市と香川県坂出市を結ぶ全長12.3kmの瀬戸大橋が開通しました。
橋の橋脚となった島の一つが与島（よしま）で、そこには日本初となる海上の高速道路のパーキングエリアが設けられました。
瀬戸大橋開通の翌年1989年、与島には774万人の観光客を集めたそうです。小与島にも高級リゾートホテル「アクア小与島」が建設されました。
与島との間にロープウエイを建設する計画まであったが、ブームが去ると観光客が急減。1990年代には年間250万人に減少。
ホテル「アクア小与島」もほとんど営業する事なく、ご覧のとおり廃墟となっています。
