Walking in Zurich: I found myself beautifully lost in this city’s streets

26 June 2025. Zurich, Switzerland 30°С/86°F, Variable cloudiness Welcome to Zurich In this video we will take a walk around this charming city Our walk starts from the city embankment, we are located near Ganymede, Hermann Hubacher Let’s take a look around Another steamer arrived from another cruise on the lake or from one of the towns located around the lake. Here you can take a cruise on the lake or go to some cities Just a Flower Clock. It is not just a decoration, but a fully functional clock. It shows the exact time, and its flower pattern changes depending on the season. Do you enjoy walking the streets and finding yourself lost in their charm and atmosphere? Grab a cup of your favorite drink and get comfortable, because we’re about to get lost in these streets for a while. Now let me show you the very heart of the city – the Old Town “Altstadt”. It is officially the city district number 1 (Kreis 1). It is the historical core of Zurich, where the city’s history began. Münzplatz – a small but very picturesque square. We are approaching Bahnhofstrasse. One of the symbols of Zurich and one of the most famous and expensive shopping streets in the world. It is the heart of the city and its financial centre. I think we shouldn’t miss the opportunity to take a walk here 😉 A shop full of real Swiss chocolate. This is where probably I should really get lost) But this is not such an accessible entertainment) We’ll return to Bahnhofstrasse later, but for now let’s take a look behind the scenes of the city’s main artery. Welcome back to Bahnhofstrasse Looks like a vintage tram adapted to modern conditions Now we will take a look at a very picturesque place. Zentralhof – this place is not at all obvious to tourists. I guess I could call this place a hidden gem. In addition to the opportunity to spend time over a drink at this street cafe, guests have the opportunity to enjoy the sounds of live music. A great place to catch your breath between walks along the busy Bahnhofstrasse Bahnhofstrasse Another quiet corner of the city Church of St. Peter The church with the largest clock face in Europe. A clock face on each side of this ancient tower Fraumünster Church The church was founded in 853 by King Ludwig the German for his daughter Hildegard. And also the Münsterhof square, which forms a historical complex with the church. In the Middle Ages, Münsterhof was a trading centre and a festival venue, where craftsmen, merchants and locals gathered. Now we have moved to the Swiss National Museum Let’s take a look around a bit The “Landesmuseum Zürich” is one of the most important museums of cultural history in Europe. This is one of the main attractions of Zurich. The building is an impressive example of historicism, combining elements of various styles, including French Renaissance castles. The museum courtyard is often the venue for various entertainment and cultural events. You may have already noticed traces of one of these events. Let’s continue our journey This water is amazing. And it is so clear that in some places you can see the bottom. Did you know that in Switzerland people sometimes use the river current as transport from one part of the city to the next? Bahnhofstrasse Ahead is a small park, a tiny corner of peace in the center of the bustling city center. A wonderful place to escape for a while and catch your breath in the shade and greenery I guess this dog is happy) a little later we will see her again, but in the fountain Another place with impressive and not cheap toys Probably many ladies and gentlemen left these places with happiness in their souls and beautiful jewelry adorning their necks or hands. This street simply exudes the spirit of wealth and luxury. No wonder it is the most expensive street in the world This dog looks like she’s living her best life. Herkulesbrunnen, or the Fountain of Hercules, is one of the many historic fountains located in Zurich. It is at least 400 years old. We are going to move back to Münsterbrücke I don’t know what to say except that this is probably the cutest scene in this video) The Grossmünster is one of the four main churches of Zurich and one of the most recognizable symbols of the city. We turned onto Marktgasse, located in the historic district of Niederdorf. It is the central artery of this part of the Old Town. The street has a very long history. Its name, “Market Street”, indicates that in the Middle Ages it was an important trading place. Until the 19th century, there was a lively market here, and during this time it was one of the main streets of the city. Marktgasse is the place to experience the real spirit of the Old Town. Unlike the luxurious Bahnhofstrasse, it has a more relaxed and bohemian atmosphere. Here the Marktgasse ends and the view of Stüssibrunnen opens up. This is one of the most picturesque and historically significant fountains in Zurich. A cow on the balcony? Now you’ve seen it) The only thing is it’s a pity it’s not real) It seems our walk is coming to an end. For me, visiting Zurich was very impressive. I just wish I had more time here to more slowly and thoroughly capture the details of this amazing city.
