【高円寺Vlog】古道具屋巡りで“自分だけの宝物”探し!夏の阿波踊りも満喫
Koenji Station is about a 20-minute train ride from Tokyo Station. I’m going to grab breakfast at Denny’s for the first time in a while. It’s peach season. I feel like having a parfait this morning. “Please take a seat wherever you like.” This Denny’s has a lot of open seating along the windows, so it feels really spacious. Drink bar included for 820 yen Caesar salad, French toast I’m drawn to desserts in the morning My one true love? It’s natto with a raw egg over rice. I’ll get the salmon set and add a raw egg and natto to it. This ad is really well done. Peach, peach, peach An impressive lineup Tada! This is a textbook example of a Japanese breakfast. My natto with a raw egg over rice is glowing in the morning light. My own morning utopia that teaches me that the world is beautiful My dad always used to ask for a window seat whenever we went to a family restaurant when I was a kid.” For my father, the window seat is the best seat. Now that I’m an adult, I understand my father’s feelings very well. This is a best seat Thank you for the meal It’s 11 a.m. Opening times of the store I want to visit Amazing selection What you see here are carefully crafted tools, all meant to be used. They’ve collected truly functional Japanese tools from all over the country, all filled with the creators’ passion and dedication. A long-established palm broom manufacturer founded in 1880 What a charming appearance This one is cute too~ It’s made using hand-dyed woodblock prints! Lots of friends A snake!! So adorable… A limited-time exhibition of baskets and strainers was held in the store. There are many baskets and strainers collected from both Japan and overseas. Striped pattern?! I’ve never seen this before. I can’t see any regularity This is my favorite discovery here. Very nice wow They say that wild grape baskets can last for over a century, because they’re so strong and they develop a rich patina with use. I think this is the ultimate Japanese cutlery. The designs of Sori Yanagi are said to have changed the history of cutlery design in Japan. It has been used by us for over 50 years without any changes to its shape. All of these are also designed by Yanagi Sori We have this ladle in our home and have been using it for about 10 years. Lots of unique small plates I hope my daughter can learn to eat rice well with these chopsticks. I think I will definitely use Yanagi Sori cutlery for the rest of my life. I’m looking forward to the whole family making history with this tool. Lunch on the other side of the station Preparations are underway in front of the station for the Awa Odori festival to be held this weekend. It seems we have to go through the narrow path between the greengrocers. From a greengrocer to a delicatessen An atmosphere like a time slip It was right nearby This is also a very old building At Chopsticks You can enjoy “Japan’s first fresh rice pho noodles,” which was developed by the owner himself. The lunch set comes with fresh spring rolls and tea, making it a great deal. The summer special menu includes my favorite Vietnamese fried spring rolls! Chewy skin and crunchy vegetables! Cold lotus tea It soaks into my hot body~ !? this is…… It looks so delicious…!! I can’t stop staring at it The fragrant deep-fried spring rolls, sweet and sour sauce, and perfect rice noodles The wonderful harmony of Vietnam It’s mind-blowingly delicious. Oh it was delicious Thank you for the meal Stroll through the shopping district Koenji’s Daiso is smart There is a wide lineup for visitors coming to see the Awa Odori dance. Koenji is known as the “town of second-hand clothes.” This town is dotted with second-hand clothing stores filled with the owner’s unique tastes. I bet the owner of this shop is a cat lover! cute Cat tangled in yarn Are you tangled up and in a daze? I came to a cafe that is well-known for its delicious sweets. Muffins are good too, but… Cheesecake is a classic! I’m glad there’s a play space. Osmanthus tea latte has a gorgeous aroma We can add caramel sauce for 50 yen. The sweetness of the cake and the bitterness of the caramel This place is so cozy, I could just fall asleep. Thank you for the meal Just behind the shop is an antique shop I’ve been wanting to try. A world that reveals its beauty only to those who never stop searching for it. It occurred to me that he could see that beautiful world. Everything in the shop—the arrangement, colors, shapes, and scents—has its own unique sense of order. A postcard addressed to someone else was displayed under the bone shell. “There’s nothing special, but please come along. Please take care of yourself. Bye.” Amazingly, I heard the owner single-handedly DIY’d this entire interior, starting from a vast, bare concrete space. It may have been abandoned somewhere in the past. Something important to someone who lived in this world A blissful moment that stirs the imagination as you think about the history of each place. The non-sale stones It was the owner’s favorite 1947 horse racing ticket “This is just a guess, but I think it’s a cover for a wartime first aid bag.” Here’s a quiz. What is this? The correct answer was a piece of chain mail. Lots of old photos A record of someone’s life Still, a perfect composition I wonder if they were all taken by the same person? Looks like a professional photo After much deliberation, I chose these four. A lampshade in the shape of a Japanese soldier’s helmet, specially made by the owner I would like to see this space displayed as is in a contemporary art museum. Thank you for the wonderful time, “Sebone”. There is one more store I wanted to visit. “Hachimakura” has a wide selection of rare paper items from Japan and abroad. The shop owner’s love for paper can be seen in the careful individual packaging. Prewar food labels 1950s hair net candy wrappers There’s still this left! There are many variations of children’s fans Old lottery tickets First prize: 1 million yen Prewar woodblock print envelope Time melts away… I found an old postcard from the early 1900s with a little hat on it. This is to celebrate Saint Catherine’s Day in France. At that time, single women aged 25 would pray to Saint Catherine for good fortune in marriage. It seems to be based on the hat worn at the festival. It’s fun to unravel history through paper! UK bus tickets Botanical illustrations by British naturalist painters The paper items are sleeping in the drawer, forming layers of time. this is……? Old postcard of Nikko Toshogu Shrine After seeing the contents, my heart rate goes up to 200. 、、、、、、 I can’t put it into words Three-dimensional paper items have been around in Japan since this time. The torii gate has a hole so that you can pass through. The mausoleum appears to have lost its color The quiet, yet passionate love of the maker is infused in this paper. The owner also recommended What a fantasy! It’s an old official document The handwriting is so beautiful, it looks like a font. In the past, it was written by hand on parchment. Embroidered postcards popular in France in the 1920s Despite their gorgeous designs, some of them contain the feelings of parents worried about their sons on the battlefield. It tells of the deep love one has for a loved one. There are still many old paper items whose backgrounds I want to know about. Thank you to “Hachimakura” for the wonderful time I had. Time to go home already?! Koenji, a town where time flies I came to Koenji that weekend to see the Awa Dance. When I go for a walk in Tokyo, my top priority is to avoid the crowds You can’t tour Tokyo efficiently if you’re stuck in the crowds and queues, which just drains your time and energy. When it’s a festival, I make an exception. Crowds are the ultimate proof of a place’s vibrancy Only at a time like this will I dive into the heart of the crowd and immerse myself in the vibrant energy. The pure looks, applause, and cheers from the audience were also incredibly moving. A particularly loud cheering group approached. The collaboration of every single person is essential for a festival’s success. The festival will end in 30 minutes. But before that, I want to see my friend dance! I found the group she belongs to. I wonder if there are any~ there was! good job! Her name is Yamaura Nodoka She is a washi artist in Tokushima who pursues the beauty of washi paper. It’s organic and breathes I’m going to visit Tokushima too! Denny’s is probably super crowded today 3,2,1 end~! This year’s Awa Odori has ended. I’m hungry because I’ve been moving around a lot. Eric South, where I was shocked by the deliciousness of their retort products I saw a lot of beer advertisements around town today. The power of advertising is immense Butter Chicken coconut vegetable Bean curry No spicy at all The rich, nutritious flavor and spicy flavor gently spread throughout your mouth. Everything is delicious The explanation inside the store caught my eye. “Fun ways to eat meals” Very detailed explanation There are detailed instructions on the back as well First, the first line “Some of you might be thinking, ‘Seriously, we’re starting there?!’ But believe it or not, how you pour curry is actually a pretty big deal.” …… The writing style is full of enthusiasm right from the first sentence! (This is meant as a compliment.) This is “Biryani Knowledge” At this point, whether it gets read is probably a secondary concern, isn’t it? It feels like it was made with passion and no marketing involved. I love this kind of thing! Oh it was delicious Thank you for the meal Summer is almost over Autumn is coming
