【8天7夜玩九州】DAY 5:熊本熊居然是限制級?!為了流量他也淪陷了嗎?熊本一天一夜這樣玩!超爆笑攻略、激推美食&高CP值住宿大公開!
I don’t know who “Kato Kiyomasa” is. I’ve only heard of “Kato Toru,” the lord of Kumamoto Castle. Is he more powerful than Kato Toru? Of course he is. I don’t know about the night. This place is famous for its raw egg yolk ramen. The texture and flavor are rounder, smoother, and more eggy. You see, it takes five stones, but I only need four to build it. It should fall down immediately, otherwise you’d come to build it. Where’s the person serving the emperor? I’m coming ! Is this servant really carrying the sedan chair carefully? Seriously, who’s sitting in the back? It must be a fat guy . I’ve never tasted anything so sweet. It’s so sweet that it will take you back to the days of Natsume Soseki. I’m not kidding . The performance I just saw was truly shocking. Not suitable for children! He pulled out this huge, thick, black penis from his crotch . He even did this kind of action . Is this kind of performance safe for children? I think this is one of the best French toasts we’ve ever had. This 2018 Michelin-recommended dish has incredibly tender, juicy meat. Many historical figures have visited. Sitting in the same seat with these great writers, enjoying the same scenery and drinking the same coffee, LU has become incredibly elegant, right? Elegant? Why not listen to a poem? “Travel First.” Work aside. This is an adaptation of a poem by Natsume Soseki. Are you sure Natsume Soseki wrote poetry? Hi, I’m Paul. Hi, I’m LU. We’re “Travel First.” Um, we’re in Kumamoto. Kumamoto. So what are we doing in Kumamoto? Are we going to chase celebrities ? We
‘re going to chase a superstar mascot! Oh , really? Speaking of superstars, isn’t that me? I’m so huge! Hahahaha ! Of course, the one we’re chasing is the one behind you, this one, hahahaha! Okay, this one, Kumamon! Yes, we’ll also introduce you to lots of delicious Kumamon fun and treats. Oh , and there’s a raffle in this episode ! What’s the prize? The prizes and how to enter will be announced in the video , so watch carefully! The prize is whatever you want . What does he want ? How would I know what he wants ? Hahaha . If you like our video, please like, subscribe, and turn on the bell. Don’t forget to share it with your friends who like traveling in Japan. If you think our video is good, you can also give us a big thank you on Douyin. In the information column below the video, there will also be “Travel Priority” exclusive “Bic Camera” coupons. You can get a discount of up to 17%. If you have travel companions in need, you can download it from the information column below the video. Okay, let’s get going quickly . Go ! It’s 7:30 in the morning and we’ve gone from “Hakata” to Kumamoto . Let me tell you, there is something you must be very interested in . What is it? I’ll take you to the “Attack on Kumamon” over there. Hahaha, he looks a bit like the one from “Attack on Titan” , with his head sticking out from the bottom like this. It ‘s so funny. His nose is so cute, I really want to punch him , hahaha. As a big fan of “Kumamon”, the must-buy when you come to “Kumamoto” is the “Kumamon IC Card” we are going to buy now. Actually, that’s because Suica cards can’t be used here . Right , it’s so strange, hahaha. Kumamoto is amazing. It can reject Suica cards. Because Kumamon is famous, he can be so arrogant. Right , he is very arrogant. When you come to Kumamoto, you must have a card with his “bear image” printed on it. But it doesn’t matter. At least “Kumamon” is very cute, so we can forgive him. Okay, after exiting the Shinkansen gate, we will turn left. At this time, we will see “Shirakawaguchi” as well. It’s the East Exit. After exiting the Shirakawa Exit (East Exit) , turn left and you’ll see a bunch of bus stops. There’s a red Kumamon mailbox in front of you. Next to it is a Higo Bank ATM, which sells Kumamon IC cards. There are also a lot of lockers next to the Kumamon mailbox. If you have large luggage, you can leave it here. This one is for pre-loading IC cards , and the one on the right is for buying cards. Let’s buy the card here first. The Kumamon IC card costs 2,000 yen, with 1,500 yen in pre-loaded value and 500 yen as a deposit . That’s it ! My first Kumamon IC card, did you know? Starting November 15, 2024, the Suica card and other transportation cards will no longer be accepted for the Kumamoto City Tram and buses . So for now, you can only buy a Kumamon IC card or pay with cash. And this Kumamon IC card will give you a surprise when you add value or make purchases at Higo Bank and certain stores. Can it be used outside of Kumamoto? It seems not . Is it really in Kumamoto itself? After exiting Shirakawaguchi, just walk straight and you will see the Kumamoto City Tram boarding point. It is quite easy to find. The Kumamoto City Tram is divided into two lines , the red A line and the blue B line. We are going to take the red A line heading towards Kenguncho. Of course, in addition to the Kumamon IC card, we also bought the Kumamoto City Tram One-Day Pass. We relied on it for almost the entire trip this time. Physical tickets can be purchased at the “Comprehensive Tourist Information Center” at Kumamoto Station . You can see it as soon as you exit the station gate. We arrived early today, so the tourist information center wasn’t open yet. Don’t worry, you can still buy one on the tram for just 700 yen (the price has increased). A tram ride costs 200 yen regardless of the distance , so just take four trips and you’ll have your money back . When using it, remember to scratch off the date like a scratch card. Just show it to the driver when you get off. Remember not to scratch the wrong date, or you won’t be able to use it. It ‘s very important. In addition to paper tickets, you can also buy an electronic ticket for the “Kumamoto Tram One-Day Pass”. Before purchasing, you need to download the transfer information app and purchase it on the app. Similarly, you just need to show the screen to the driver when you get off . So, our first stop in “Kumamoto” is “Kumamoto Castle”! Getting to Kumamoto Castle is easy. Just take the Kumamoto tram to Hanabatacho or Kumamoto Castle/Shiyakusho-mae. We got off at Hanabatacho Station this time , so it’s about a 15-minute ride from Kumamoto Station . After getting off, follow the signs for Kumamoto Castle . If you see a statue of Mr. Kato Kiyomasa, you’re almost there. I don’t know who Kato Kiyomasa is . I’ve only heard of Kato Toru, the lord of Kumamoto Castle. Is it true he built Kumamoto Castle ? Pretty impressive! Is he even more impressive than Kato Toru? Of course he is. I don’t know until tonight . Do you still know who Kato Toru is? I don’t know either. I just heard about it and I don’t know who he is. Basically, when we come to Kumamoto Castle, we will visit two places. One is “Sakura-no-Baba -jo Saien” and the other is ” Kumamoto Castle”. You can visit both places in any order. If you want to see “Sakura-no-Baba-jo Saien” first, you have to go to the left . If you want to see “Kumamoto Castle” first, you have to go to the right. We have to go to “Kumamoto Castle” first , so we will go straight on the right. If you are traveling with luggage, you must first check your luggage at Sakura-no-Baba, because the luggage cannot go up to the castle tower, so you can only throw the luggage down from the moat. The slope is really long. “Kumamoto Castle South Exit” is here ? This is just the entrance. Visitors number 1 are those who already have tickets, and visitors number 2 are those who want to purchase tickets. The “Kumamoto Castle Entrance Ticket” is 800 yen for high school students and above. There are also package tickets, which are divided into two types. One includes “Kumamoto Castle” and the “Wakawa-za” in Sakuranobabajo Castle Saien, and the other includes the “Kumamoto Museum”. Basically, people who come here only visit “Kumamoto Castle” and “Wakawa-za”, unless you have nothing to do all day and want to spend the whole day here. In this case, you can buy the three-museum combined ticket . The two-museum combined ticket is only 50 yen more than the Kumamoto Castle ticket , so this ticket is the most cost-effective and the entire visiting time is also the most perfect. This ticket can also be purchased on the official website of Kumamoto Castle, which is actually quite convenient. If you are traveling with friends who are going to Sakuranobabajo Castle Saien first, you can Buy your tickets at the visitor center. Let’s go buy your tickets first. Once you enter, you’ll have to walk up a lot of stairs . If you’re traveling with elderly or disabled guests, there’s an elevator nearby . Hahaha , let ‘s take the elevator. No, we walked up . Kumamoto Castle was severely damaged in the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake. After years of restoration, the castle tower was finally restored and opened in 2021. A skywalk was built throughout the castle grounds for easy access . This building is where they used to hold tea parties. That one was damaged by the earthquake , and it’s been quite some time since the earthquake , so many areas have been repaired. This one was intentionally left unrepaired to show you the damage the earthquake caused to Kumamoto Castle. Is it true that Kumamoto Castle is open to people to become castle lords ? You can become a castle lord, right? Yeah, because after the earthquake, they’re accepting donations to rebuild Kumamoto Castle . Just donate 10,000 yen (about 2,000 Taiwan dollars) and you can become the castle lord for a year. That’s pretty cheap! So, I’ll donate 100,000 yen and become the castle lord for 10 years. Hahaha. What can a castle lord do? You get a castle lord certificate , and your name will be on the “name board” on the fourth floor of the main tower. You’ll also get a “castle lord hand sign,” and you can get special discounts at participating shops . That’s all. Right ? Otherwise, I thought you could live inside Kumamoto Castle and enjoy the castle lord’s feast at night, and have Kumamon sleep with you when you sleep . Hahaha, you’re asking for too much, hahaha. Oh, I know this passage is a secret passage, right? The castle lord would escape this way. So, Japanese people used to be shorter, right? There is a ginkgo tree in front of the right side of Kumamoto Castle. Legend has it that it was planted by Kato Kiyomasa. He planted many ginkgo trees in the grounds of Kumamoto Castle , so Kumamoto Castle is also called “Ginkgo Castle”. Maybe Kato Kiyomasa had some Alzheimer’s disease in his later years . When he was building the castle, he thought that if the city was besieged, there would be nothing to eat , so he planted ginkgo trees. Ginkgo is edible . You can find a ginkgo in chawanmushi (tea steamed bun) . However, the real ginkgo tree fell down in the past because it was burned during the war. What we see now is that it has grown new buds , and its vitality is very strong until now. It should also be an energy attraction and a sacred tree. You should touch it. Go hug it. You can’t go inside. Touch its roots. Okay, those are not roots , they are water pipes. Let’s come back to see it in the fall. What are you doing? I’m riding a white horse… into the city. You have to dismount at the city gate. Oh, really? I’m the lord of the city. I, the lord of the city, can ride in on horseback. You’re… as soon as you enter, you hear the heart-pounding drumbeats and feel the majesty. I’m entering the city. The beauties in the harem are waiting for me . “Kumamon” is lying there naked, waiting for you . He’s always naked. Sometimes he wears clothes, but most of the time he’s naked. The explanations here are all in Japanese, right ? Luckily , we downloaded this app at the door and used it to scan the QR code below. An introduction to this picture will appear, and it’s in Chinese. Let me take a photo with my former lord. Take a photo in Kumamon. Inside the castle, there’s a small wooden model of Kumamoto Castle. Don’t underestimate this! It was built in 1959, about 66 years ago. That’s older than I am. It’s incredibly detailed. Because we can’t see things like the castle tower, which is high up. We’re not Ultraman, right? We can’t fly over it, so they built this so we can see what the roof and other structures look like. It’s amazing! The model we just saw was 1/10th scale , and this one is even bigger. This one is 1/3rd scale. Can you see what the people inside are doing? Ah , someone’s taking a shower. What the hell am I seeing?! Next time, travel buddies, come and see Kumamoto Castle on your own! It’s truly amazing! Kumamoto Castle is known for being incredibly difficult to capture. During the 1877 Seishun War, Saigo Takamori led his troops to attack the castle . The government held out for 54 days , but ultimately, the castle remained unconquered. Saigo Takamori was defeated, and he lamented that he wasn’t defeated by the government , but by Kiyomasa, the Lord of the Castle, Kato Kiyomasa . Saigo Takamori was a skilled warrior in Japanese history. Even Saigo Takamori couldn’t capture it . So, the castle’s defensive strength and difficulty were proven by Saigo Takamori . Number 3 is called “Ninja Return.” There are many iron bars placed along the edges, preventing the ninja from climbing up. If they tried to climb up, they ‘d be stuck. Unable to climb up, they ‘d have to return home. That’s why it’s called ” Ninja Return.” You can’t pronounce it, right? There’s a saying: ” You pronounce it with both sides. ” There’s a fish and a tiger in the middle. How do you pronounce it? Tiger? This “鯱” (鯱) is an ancient creature with a dragon’s head and a fish’s body. It sprays water from its mouth, so it’s a bit like a fireproof symbol. These are usually installed on roofs. You can see the details here. Because they’re made of tiles , they’re called “鯱纹 (鯱纹).” You can build Kumamoto Castle with them. That’s easy! I love playing with Lego. That ‘s not right. That’s obviously wrong. Don’t argue. Look, it takes five stones, but I only need four. That’s amazing! I could be an architect ! It should fall apart right away . Come on, come on, come on, come on. I heard that “Kato Kiyomasa” is 190 cm tall . Is that true? Is he 190 cm with his hat on? That’s probably about that tall . Lord , let me serve you tonight. Tall and imposing , and with a mansion that’s more than just a mansion. He actually has a castle . It’s a castle, hahahaha! Where are the servants? Where did the servants go? She has three seconds to show up. 321 ! Here I am, your concubine. I ‘m here to serve you in bed today . Um , should we start with a massage? Hahahaha . There’s a sedan chair experience here. I’ve ridden in this before, back in Atami Castle, but this one looks fancier. Yes, that was the commoner last time. Now this is the lord’s luxury sedan. Can I fit in this? I ‘m getting in ! Are luxury sedans more comfortable? Yes, they are. Much more comfortable. The one last time was super small , and there are even handles to hold onto . Why is it so shaky? Is the servant really carrying the sedan chair? Seriously ! Who’s that in the back? It must be some fat S- type person. What are you doing? What am I doing? I’m riding a horse. Why is riding a horse so obscene? There’s no such thing as obscene horse riding! That’s just how it is! Go go go go ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Run so fast, run so fast ! I’m almost winning! Kumamoto Castle has so much more to offer than I imagined . Yes, we oversaw our time. The main exhibits inside Kumamoto Castle are more like museums. The “Wakyo-za” is more experiential, lively and fun, perfect for kids. Kids like us had a lot of fun. I think adding 50 yen is not bad. Yes , and there’s this area outside of the “Wakyo-za” that’s kind of like an Edo-era street stall selling food , souvenirs , and even kimono-wearing experiences . I want to try this ! It ‘s so cute! Can I buy it here? It’s on the left as you enter the entrance to Josaien. There’s a cute “Kumamon Ningyoyaki” here. It’s so chubby. There’s actually a lot of food here. After visiting Kumamoto Castle and Ooyoza, you can come here to eat. We’re going to try the other recommended dishes later , so let’s start with this cute “Kumamon Ningyoyaki.” Hmm, this one is 330 yen. We ordered the cream custard flavored one, and it looks like this inside . It’s delicious. I thought it was just a pretty shape, but it turned out to be delicious. Oh, isn’t it? Oh, isn’t it ? Oh , isn’t it? Oh, isn’t it? Oh , isn’t it? Oh, isn’t it? Oh, isn’t it? Oh, isn’t it? Oh, isn’t it? Oh, isn’t it? Oh, isn’t it? It’s only “Hachi “? Where’s “Usagi”? Probably not, because there are only two of them . It’s a Kumamoto Castle-exclusive ” Hachi”! Of course, there’s Kumamoto Castle right below it. So, who has more fans? I think Hachi has more fans. The title of the work is “Hachi.” So, does Hachi have more fans? Oh , but I don’t understand. Anyway , just buy it. Actually, “Usagi” has the most fans . Is this true ? Who is this? I can’t even recognize him next to them, he’s already losing out hahaha . So why take one each? Just take one each as a raffle prize for our travel companions ? This one? Do n’t want this one? I really am fickle. Got it, got it, got it! These two Kumamoto Castle-exclusive Kumamon friends (?) : “Gee Kawa” and “Hachiko.” We just confirmed for our travel companions that “Usagi” isn’t sold anymore , so how do we get one of these two ? You just need to like and subscribe to our channel at the bottom of our video , and then leave a message at the bottom of the video saying which of the Gyi Kawa characters you like the most and why. For example, if you choose the white one, you can get “Gyi Kawa” or “Hachiko”. Then we will go to the next place. Let’s go. We are going to eat now. We are hungry. Visiting Kumamoto Castle is very tiring. You have to climb a lot of stairs before entering the city , and then you have to climb a lot of stairs inside the city . It is basically a city of stairs. This street is “Shimodori Shopping Street”. This shopping street is so spacious. It feels like a row of stalls can be placed in the middle. Hahaha, will there be stalls at night? We arrived at the front and didn’t see anyone queuing outside, but it turned out to be lined up like this inside. Then as soon as we came in, we could smell the cheese, like blue cheese. You know , Kyushu’s tonkotsu ramen smells like that. We had an episode called “Kyushu Ramen Special” where we ate at three famous ramen restaurants in “Fukuoka” . And in the episode where Paul traveled alone, we also ate at a famous Fukuoka chain ramen. So, including this one today, we have introduced a total of 5 ramen restaurants in “Kyushu”. Everyone, go and collect them. The one we are going to eat today is called “Kurotei Ramen”. It was founded in 1957 and has a history of almost 70 years. It is a very famous ramen restaurant in the Kumamoto area. When I was queuing just now, there were Japanese people around me. In fact, many people go to Kumamoto to eat. The main store at the station. Since we were on our way to the Shimodori branch after visiting Kumamoto Castle , we decided to go there. In fact, there are many branches in Kumamoto City, so you can check them out. This one is famous for its “Raw Egg Yolk Ramen”. Two raw egg yolks are placed in each bowl. It uses thin noodles , and the noodles are very elastic. The soup of this ramen is lighter than those in Hakata. The key point is that there is a layer of black garlic floating on the soup. It is actually fried black garlic. This “Tonkotsu Ramen” with rich garlic flavor is my favorite. Another way to eat it is to put the egg yolk in a spoon, break it with a spoon, and then dip the noodles in the egg yolk to eat . It smells so good. The texture and taste are rounder and smoother, with a hint of egg fragrance. This way of eating is quite delicious. I’m going to eat it next. The barbecued pork has more lean meat, just like the two slices of pork that come with dry noodles in Taiwan. It tastes about the same , but this way, you can taste the meaty aroma without being too greasy. I think it’s quite good, and it ‘s healthier and not too fattening. Paul and I both think that this bowl of ramen is actually quite balanced and remarkable . The key point is that its taste is not too strong or too salty. On the other hand, the memorable part of this bowl of noodles is a little weak , but I think Taiwanese people should be able to accept the taste of this noodle. Travel companions who don’t like strong flavors can come and try it . Now that we’ve finished our ramen, we’re going to meet a big star . Oh , why go through so much trouble to meet a big star ? Just tell my agent. Who wants to meet you? We’re going to meet now. The big star in the mascot world is Kumamon. We are now at Tsuruya Department Store. On the first floor of Tsuruya Department Store, there is a place where you can meet Minister Honjo. He came to Taiwan to see me last time. It has been a long time since we last met. Kumamon is red now. So, let’s go to him for tea and chat. It only takes about 5 minutes to walk from “Kurotei Ramen” where we just finished eating. Travelers who take the Kumamoto City Tram can get off at the “Suidocho” stop. After getting off, you will be facing Tsuruya Department Store. The building in front of you is the “East Building” of Tsuruya Department Store , and the building on your right is the “Main Building” of Tsuruya Department Store . Kumamon Plaza is on the first floor of “Tsuruya Department Store East Building”. After getting off the bus, you will see the door of Tsuruya Department Store and walk in through the side door. It is over there. I didn’t expect that he has so many fans. Are there more than you? There seem to be more people. Wow, there are so many people. There’s still half an hour before the show starts , but there are already so many people. Only children have seats, and adults can only stand. There are quite a lot of people now, so children who want to see “Kumamon” should arrive before 1:30 at the latest. After we finished watching Kumamon , yes, I thought he was out of fashion. I didn’t expect there were so many children and adults at the show. There was still a long line outside after we walked out. There were so many people. I was really dumbfounded when I watched the performance just now. It did n’t look like it was suitable for children. No , that’s because today is “Setsubun”. He wanted to eat “Eho nori” , yes , but his “Eho nori” was super big. Then he took the “Eho nori” out of his crotch. I was shocked when I saw it because the seaweed for the Eho nori is black , the whole thing is black , and it’s very thick. Then he made this gesture as if he was going to eat the Eho nori, and when he put the Eho nori in his crotch, it stood up like this, right ? It stood up, haha , and he saluted like he was setting up a tent, and he even set up a tent for him. I was wondering, is it okay for children to watch such a performance ? Yes, but children don’t understand , so they can watch it. Shouldn’t you say that adults can watch the performance? What children see is the “Eho-maki.” Yes, adults see something else. Only dirty adults see something else . Yes, you, you, you, you, you, you . Now we’re going to have afternoon tea. This afternoon tea is served inside a historical site. It ‘s amazing. Let’s go! We just took the Kumamoto tram to Shinmachi Station and arrived at the “Nagasaki Jiro Tea Room” we’re in. It’s on the second floor. The first floor is a bookstore with over 150 years of history. This bookstore was designated a “tangible cultural property” in 1996. Unfortunately, it announced its closure on June 30, 2024. We’re now on the second floor of the “Nagasaki Jiro Tea Room,” and it’s still open as usual. Its hours are very special: it opens at 11:26 am. Do you know why? Because the coffee shop reopened at 11:26 am in 2014 , and the Japanese word “Jiro” sounds like “26” , but it closes quite early. The last order is at 5:26, and it closes at 6 pm. The decoration here is full of the atmosphere of the Taisho period . Looking out from the window, you can also see the street and the scenery of the city tram passing by. Many historical literary masters have visited here, such as “Natsume Soseki”, “Mori Ogai” , and “Haruki Murakami”. LU has also been here . So, my dear travel companions, look, LU is here, sitting in the same place with these great writers, looking at the same scenery and drinking the same coffee. LU has become very elegant, right ? In this elegant moment , why not recite a poem for me to listen to ? I am the best at reciting poems. I will… uh , literary
inspiration is flowing. Traveling comes first , work is put aside, passport is waved, worries disappear, food is current , calories are casual, scenery is pleasing to the eye, and surprises are endless. If you ask the travel channel , the answer is simple, “travel comes first”. What the hell is that ? It’s amazing, right? Oh, okay, okay , awesome! This is adapted from a poem by Natsume Soseki. Are you sure? Is Natsume Soseki a poet? Uh… or is it Haruki Murakami? I forgot, Haruki Murakami doesn’t write poetry either. Okay, let’s eat quickly. We ordered the “Chestnut Zenzai.” I originally thought it was the same “Millet Mochi Zenzai” we had in the “Asakusa Gourmet” episode , but it wasn’t. When it was served, it turned out to be red bean soup . I just sneaked a little sip and found it incredibly delicious. This is seriously the best red bean soup I’ve ever had . First of all, the red beans, even the skin, are so soft and melt in your mouth. I don’t really like to use the word “melt in your mouth,” but there’s really no other word that does it. You can just put two or three beans in your mouth at a time . Then let it melt and savor the delicious sweetness. The highlight is the sweetness of the soup and the red beans. The sweetness is very fragrant . I don’t know what kind of sugar it is. I have never tasted such a sweet taste . Honestly, this bowl of soup is very sweet, but its sweetness will make you dream of going back to the era of “Natsume Soseki”. I’m serious, I’m not kidding, it’s amazing, I can only use the word “amazing” . Next, I want to eat its white jade. Well, the white jade is also of very high quality , and the whole piece is very chewy and soft and delicious. But because it is too sweet , there will be plum kelp or something next to it to help you relieve the greasiness. How much is this bowl of “Chestnut White Jade Red Bean Soup”? 880 yen is almost NT$170-180. A bowl of red bean soup like this is really not cheap. In fact, when it was first served, I was muttering to myself, “Huh? They charge me so much for this?!” But the taste of the sweet soup is really unforgettable. This bowl is limited time only. Next time I come here, if it’s still available, I will order this bowl of sweet soup again. The one I’m cutting now is called “Jiro-style French toast.” This is their signature French toast. They even put their name on it, so I thought it must be delicious. It has a strong cinnamon flavor, so if you don’t like the taste of cinnamon, Don’t order it. Just looking at the way you cut it, it looks really soft . The texture is soft and a little chewy. It retains a hint of the floury aroma of toast , and then there’s the cinnamon-infused, burnt aroma on the outside , and then there’s the syrup, and then there’s a very rich , not overpowering, wine aroma. It’s a very mellow, gentle wine aroma. It’s delicious, too. I think this is one of the best French toasts we’ve ever had, but I think the portion is too small , hahaha. Anyway, the drinks and desserts here are very high – quality , very high-quality, and very elegant. It’s like a writer writing a poem about food . Don’t you think I put it well? Very good, very good. I’ll put it even better: “delicious.” And here, every table has a guestbook where travelers from all over the world leave messages . Don’t you think it’s romantic? It feels very literary. Yes , they do it this way to show they’re confident in their food. Otherwise, there would be a lot of comments saying, “It’s so unpalatable.” We will also leave comments like “Don’t order it next time” . Next time, if your fellow travelers come and find our comments and take photos, we will give you a small gift. Anyway, fellow travelers who come to Kumamoto and want to have afternoon tea can consider this “Nagasaki Jiro Tea House”. After ordering the meal, they will give you a bowl for grinding sesame seeds. I think Taiwanese people know this. You can scoop the sesame seeds yourself and see how much you like to add. I personally don’t like to grind all the sesame seeds into small pieces. I will grind some parts very finely to let the aroma come out, and then keep some coarse grains in other parts. In fact, I hate to do hard work before eating. It is for you to kill time . I add Japanese-style sauce to the ground sesame seeds, and then I will add this “takae”. If you are not sure whether you like takae, then you can start. We start by making a small amount to change the taste or to make you feel lighter because sometimes the pork cutlet is too oily and greasy. When we arrived at 6:30 pm on Sunday, the waiter said that there was no tenderloin . We didn’t know if it was out of stock or they were sold out. We ordered the “Six White Black Pork Thick Cut Loin” and a big fried shrimp . The “Six White Black Pork” is a black pig , but there are six white parts on its body, so it is called “Six White Black Pork”. It is very tender. Usually when Japan fries pork cutlets, the inside will be fried a little pink, but this one, you can see that it has no pink part , but the whole meat is very tender and juicy. Some people say that the loin tastes greasy, but I don’t think so. The batter is also well matched and tastes crispy and fluffy. The batter will not fall off. And we ordered This is a thick-cut big piece . Dip it in this Japanese pork cutlet sauce and eat it. The Japanese white rice is really amazing. With this rice and the high-quality vegetables just now, I can eat a whole bowl of white rice . It’s full of meaty aroma. There are two kinds of pork cutlet sauces. The other one is Western style. The Western style is just added directly on the pork cutlet. I think the Western style sauce is smoother. It tastes a little sweet and a little salty and sweet. The salty and sweet feeling is more refreshing. The Western style sauce is also good. I think you can try both sauces when you come here . There is a small amount of yellow mustard here . Add a little bit of this yellow mustard on the fried pork cutlet , and then add a little bit of Japanese style sauce or Western style sauce. It tastes very good. I like this yellow mustard. Next, I want to eat the fried shrimp first because I am afraid that the flavor will be a little compromised after the fried shrimp is cold, so I will eat the fried shrimp first. It comes with tartar sauce, which I like very much. Fried shrimp with tartar sauce, so I won’t eat it plain. The first bite is full of shrimp meat. If you look at the width and thickness of the shrimp meat , you will know that this shrimp is a giant shrimp . To be honest , the meat I just bit was not firm and chewy , but soft and fluffy. That’s because when you peel the shrimp, when you peel off the shrimp head , the part where it connects to the shrimp head is relatively soft and mushy. The further you go down, the firmness of the shrimp and the fresh, natural sweetness and chewy texture are all maintained. This shrimp must be a very healthy and happy shrimp. This restaurant was recommended by Michelin in 2018 and “Travel First” in 2025 (laughs). Although we are on a one-day trip , we still have to stay in Kumamoto tonight and go to the next place the next day. The restaurant we stayed at today is “REF By Vessel Hotels: Its location is excellent, and transportation is very convenient. It’s right next to the Kumamoto City Tram ‘s Karashimacho Station, and it ‘s just a short walk from there. It’s also located in the Shinshigai Shopping Street. There’s also a 7-11 downstairs. Kumamoto Castle and Katretetei, where we ate, are all within walking distance. It’s also just a few steps from Sakura Machi Kumamoto. (Sakuramachi Kumamoto) The design of the entire hotel is inspired by greenery, water, and wood , so you’ll see a lot of wood-toned designs that look very classy yet warm . There’s also a large public bath on the third floor. We can soak in it to relieve our fatigue after a stroll. The public bath was designed by a renowned landscape architect and is incredibly beautiful and classy, giving us the feeling of soaking in a Japanese garden. The men’s bath we used was quite large, with indoor and outdoor areas. After soaking, you can enjoy popsicles. In the lobby, there are free drinks and a “manga library.” This library is quite impressive, collecting works by all the manga artists born in Kumamoto. Unfortunately, it’s only in Japanese, so we couldn’t understand it. During the Spring Festival, it only costs less than NT$3,000, which is super cheap. Good morning! We are now at Kumamoto Station . I feel that one day in Kumamoto is not enough. We need at least two days . So we are leaving Kumamoto now and going to our next stop, “Yufuin”. I hope my fellow travelers like the “Kumamoto One-Day Guide” introduced in this episode. And don’t forget that there is a lucky draw in this episode. Oh , I forgot that I could win the Kumamoto Castle limited edition “Gee Kawa” and “Hachiko”. So, my fellow travelers who missed it, remember to go back and watch it. If you like our video, you can like, subscribe, and turn on the bell. Don’t forget to share it with your friends who like traveling in Japan. If you think our video is good, you can also give us a big thank you. In the information column below the video, there is also a “Bic Camera Coupon” exclusive to “Travel First” . Yes, you can enjoy a discount of up to 17%. Travelers in need can find it in the information column below the video. That’s all for this episode. Bye .
