ANCIENT HINDU TEMPLE IN MYANMAR
Ancient Hindu Temple which is also known as Pekat Temple. So this is your first time yes to be inside the temple. Oh then you are lucky today. I have heard that Prabhu Deva had come here a couple of weeks ago. I had come here a week ago. Prabhu Deva had come. Amma is a 117 year old Tamil temple and the structure here is like this. These are people from India who had come from Odisha especially during the British era. I met a family and they are Burmese Nepalese. Were you people born here? No, where are we? We are from Jivadi. You people are from Jiyawadi. It seemed that all of you are from Jiyawadi. Oh friend, look, your parents have sent you to the temple. Stay in the temple, study and write. Mangalaba, everyone see, they are saying Mangalava Minglawa with love and love, Kit Kyu Kit, everyone is saying Mangalava Minglawa. These are Anna people. You can see this. The same people cook food here and also serve food here. This temple was built during British times. Good morning and welcome back to new vlog. I am Ansh and right now I am in Myanmar, around 35 km from Yangon city. In a local village area called Chautun Neighborhood. Where I have come. And especially in this video I am going to show you one of the most ancient Hindu Temples. Which was built by South Indian Tamil people. People from all over the world, especially Tamil Hindus from South India, come here to see this . So I thought of showing this temple and the culture of Hinduism in the remote villages of Myanmar, especially in the village areas, I am also going to show you in this video. And I am also going to show you the farming i.e. village life of Myanmar in this video. So already friends, after using three to four modes of transport, I have finally reached the temple area . And this is the first impression, first look of the most famous ancient temple, i.e. the ancient Hindu temple, which is also known as the Pilkat temple, which you must be seeing in front of you. This is a very lovely, very beautiful temple. So I am going to show you this temple in a very detailed manner. So we will go inside and bow down and have darshan and I am also going to tell you the main detailed history of this temple in this video . So I think this is the parking area outside the temple, where if you bring your own vehicle or come by taxi, then the driver will bring and drop you here and after that you can go inside this temple complex and have darshan . A very lovely, very beautiful South Indian temple, which is Dravidian architecture, which you get to see everywhere in South India. So the same architecture has been used here as well. Look at the upper end also, in this entire pillar, you will find the forms of various Gods and Goddesses in every corner and part of this entire temple and here also I think there are Anna people, if you want to take these garlands, flowers etc. inside the temple and offer them, then you will find all those things here. There are incense sticks and I think this Anna, what is this milk? It is milk, it is milk, oh Namaste Namaste, I have come from India to meet you people from here, ok what is your name Manu Manu Manu so Manu uncle is and I think what is the name of this village, Chatun, ok this village is called Chatun and Pilka temple, this is Mata temple, Mata temple, Mother Sun temple, that temple, ok what is it called locally, Singh Malto Malto Malto temple, ok ok and look here, I think what all do people take here to offer to Goddess Maa? This and this, this and also lemon, I don’t know what all is offered. But here you will find a basket like this in which I think bananas, coconuts etc. are kept. So you can take them. And along with that I think there are lemons etc. here. Lemons. This is a garland of flowers. Along with this there are incense sticks. These are also some items. I think these are incense sticks etc. People will take all this and offer it in the basket like this. So a lot of people have come. You can see. And here a line has been formed, all the people have come to buy the prasad etc. to offer. And one thing you have to notice is that the majority of the devotees who have come here are all local Burmese who come to this temple to pay obeisance and have darshan. And all the people who are selling are our Burmese Indian people. That is, if you go to Vimo and get inside and you reach the mar and you take It’s in the for the luck spiritual or luck okay okay that’s why people so only one three okay husband wife and son three uncle say no I’m just I’m just saying it’s like a luck for the family or if you are something you have brought one that’s why asking this flower for the like kind on like yah I know for garland ya ya this is and and for the mig is thing for bathing ya ya ya I know I know okay so I bought this basket here they are selling it for 7000 local chat currency now we have come this far so I thought friend we must offer and along with that I am purchasing this garland flowers and some lemon etc. which are needed to offer to Mata Rani from here and I think our Anna people also all have come here and here is Amara which we have today at this beautiful temple I have brought it with me. Amara how is your health now? How are you feeling? Tell me honestly are you okay? Or I am I am good. Now you will be more good once you will do darshan inside. And is this your first time or second time? First time. First time? But you have been before but you don’t remember? No, no I just I have just been here before . Not inside the temple. So this is your first time to be inside the temple. Oh then you are lucky today with me so yaar it is raining very heavily. So first let’s go inside quickly. So as soon as you enter the temple, the first thing you see is this very big pillar. I think which I showed you the South Indian temple in the movie Down. I got to see almost the same pillar of Lord Perumal in this temple as well. Inside everyone is doing pooja paath darshan and all these things here. I think the main temple we should go there. Come on. So actually what happens is that when you bring this coconut, it will be broken here first . And here you will be given a slip to offer as prasad. You have to take this slip. With this slip, you have to get your coconut broken here. Now after this we are going to go inside the temple and have darshan . Desh Ram , this is the temple of Mata Ankleshwari Devi, very grand, very beautiful and there are many other gods and goddesses present here, you must be seeing the idol and the entire compound of the temple is very big, very massive, very impressive and one of the best parts of this entire temple I felt that it is well organized, well maintained, you must be seeing the entire temple complex and here you can see that all the Hindus living in our country Myanmar and even Buddhists, that is, people of every religion are coming here and paying obeisance. Especially for Burmese Hindus and Burmese Buddhists, this is called one of the most popular and one of the most popular temples. This temple where I have brought you right now is known as Pilkhat or Maa Ankleshwari Devi. So all these people come here to have darshan. Now imagine that today, the day I have come here is Monday, that is, a working day, even on that day you must have seen so much crowd here. If you come here on Sunday, on Saturday, then the entire compound, the entire temple complex is full. There is so much crowd here. Friend, the best thing I found was that the architecture of the entire temple is the South Indian Dravidian architecture that is seen everywhere. You will get to see the same here. Everywhere you will hear a very sweet bell, the sound of the bell, you will hear the chiming sound everywhere. If I zoom in on this part and show you the whole temple, the idols of all the different gods and goddesses are placed in different corners and the temple is quite big. It also has many different gates and especially when we travel outside India to any other country and get to see such a rich Hindu culture and Sanatan Dharma there, it feels very good to see it. Now you think of a country like Myanmar where Buddhism is at its peak in the present time. But despite this, you will find Hinduism here very well preserved. Where the Hindu people who followed Hinduism in ancient times came from India. Especially in this entire area where I have come, you will find a lot of South Indian Tamil people here . So this is also one of the Tamil temples. It is known in the temple. Many big actors and actresses from India, especially from India, visited this place just a month ago. You can guess how important this place is, especially for Tamilians. And you see here, I have just come to the outside area. You must be seeing this Neem tree and a very big Peepal tree. People also do parikrama of this here. The rest of the temple premises is very clean, neat, well managed, well organized and whatever I think I have seen inside the temple, you can see that all of them are local Anna people who are taking care of this entire temple premises and are doing puja. You see, there is also a brother, brother, your name is me Ansh, your name is Shiva Shiva, so look, the brother’s name is Shiva and he is also Tamil , Tamil and you stay here in this temple village Chetun Chetun, oh so this is Shiva brother and he was born here . The problem now is that there are a lot of people here. They are our Indian Tamilians but I am not able to communicate well because they don’t know Hindi and I don’t know Tamil. Here, in this area, there are tiles etc. They have laid the entire carpet here. If you want to buy something like Prasad, idols etc. in this area. If you want to purchase the rest of the clothes etc. that are offered, then you can take them from this area and buy chunari etc. like sarees etc., bangles, bangles, idols. If you want to buy all these things, take them back or even to offer them here, you can purchase them here. So now the rains have started again and when you come out here, you will see that the local people who are from here come and sell vegetables etc. Actually, a small market is set up here because this is a complete farming area, you can see that a lot of farming is done in this area, so rice etc. is grown here in large quantity, bananas, guavas. So for this reason, people grow a lot of vegetables here. Oh Minglaba Minglaba, these grandmothers come here to sell whatever vegetables they grow in their farms locally . So you see, you will get to see very fresh, very fresh vegetables here. I don’t know if this is beans. What is it? I don’t know exactly. What is this? This is being sold here. The rest are some leaves. Vegetables. Different here this also has the name Palak Kajoia Kajoia Kajoia yes grandma is saying Kajoia Kajoia maybe it has some name friend this is used a lot in green vegetables this one and also see this one is here ok here this is papad etc. actually see this is Indian papad friend ours so here there is papad etc. and our brother is going there in the car yes and here also mostly all the vegetables are the same you can see ok what is this? Toshav Toshavya ok so they are saying Toshavya its name is. I think this is a flower, is it some money, money, money , oh its name is paisoe and it is very cute on everyone’s face, the name plan is on the name, mui, so all this is actually its name is local, which these people are telling me brother, mone do mone do, oh mone do, and this, yes, this is its attack, oh friend, it is a little difficult to pronounce it, but I know it friend, I think this is our moringa, I think it is its leaf, I think this and this also green spinach, chaurai , chhamauiya, chhamauiya , o chhamavia, I think all are green vegetables, brother, all those who are in a line, then everyone is laughing seeing me, friend, dear, everyone’s smile is very cute and everyone has said, cap India Mumbai India, come come see temple, o minglawa milawa minglawa, everyone is doing minglawa minglawa with love, very cute, cute, friend, everyone is sitting here and didi is also here, ok Tamil pabla this pabla ok this is papad actually these people are calling it pabla but look Tamil Tamil this didi yaar is Tamilian actually so these people are actually here in this part all the houses that you can see, you will find a lot of local Tamilians here, our Indian Tamilians that is Burmese Tamilians currently you will find Hindu Tamilians here . You will find all their houses in the vicinity. so some people here The cow is brought here to feed it like this. Rest all this is local transport here. Rest here is the temple. Now let’s go, it is getting late. So guys this is the second temple which is also known as Sun Temple or Tarata Temple and is also worshipped in this form. So this is in the outer part. So the first temple which I showed you is Devi Temple which is called Marta Temple and this is its second form which is called Sun Temple which is called Tarata Temple. And you will find the same I think the architecture of both, the design of both, the layout, almost similar. But this temple is also very big and very beautiful. And next to it you will see this very big hall where food is served every day, in a way food langar, whatever you say, all that comes in this complex. There is a very big mega kitchen here. So let’s go inside and I’ll show you that as well and I’ll take you inside this temple and show you the darshan etc. And friend, I can already smell the aroma of the food here, the sambar etc. I can feel a very nice fragrance here. Oh amazing brother and what a big area it is. You see there is enough space for parking. And you will find many small shops here. Specially you will find many small stalls and shops selling Indian tea snacks and Indian food. Look, all the different auto rickshaw drivers, e-rickshaw drivers, taxi drivers, car drivers, all come here and park their vehicles like this. I think this is a small kulfi shop. If you want to eat some kulfi etc. then you will find it here on the side. Wow. Do you know the best thing? See this. As soon as you enter, the food served here is served on a banana leaf. India yes Namaste. Namaste. Arey yaar only Hindi, don’t know Hindi or Tamil Tamil Tamilna Tamilna, thousands of people can come here to eat at a time. This hall has been made so big. You can see the capacity and you will believe that literally every day all the people who come here, no matter who they are, are fed proper Indian pure food here as prasad every day. So the reason why you can see that people here serve food. So Amara is also very hungry. Amara is also very hungry. So let’s go and we will have the food now. And you can see all the Anna people here, they are the ones who cook the food here and they are the ones who serve the food here. There is a style of serving food, just like we serve it in weddings especially, similarly there is a banana leaf and in that banana leaf you will see people serving rice, vegetables, sambar and all these things here. Namaste Amma Namaste. So this is the banana leaf which is considered to be the purest and here is our rice, along with some curry I think and look here we are putting Anna Sambar in it, look all the people are Anna people, all the people here are serving, so I will make a small pit and look wow brother it will be fun today. Namaste Anna. Namaste Namaste. Now brother let’s eat the food and see how Amara will like the taste. You have already tasted such kind of food already right before. But in this temple this is your first time. Yes. So you will taste and you will let me know how is the taste of the food. Yes. Or one more thing , I noticed a lot of people here that just like Amara is also wearing gloves in her hands, these people wear foil gloves to eat food because I noticed a lot of these people don’t like to eat food with hands, so there is a culture here that they wear such gloves and then eat food. I saw this in many restaurants here as well. I will also show you in front by zooming. See, more than half the people here are wearing gloves in their hands and are eating using it. I need it a sauce, you need a sauce, you need a spiciness, no sauce, sauce, okay, I don’t know, I am the first time I got a call, my mom is not like that, it tastes okay, okay, I will eat it with my hands only, just like we eat food in Indian style, there is a complete sambar, I liked it a lot. Its taste is good. Sambar is also good. Whatever vegetables etc. are added to it to make it, you will find it in it. So friend, it’s around 12:00 in the afternoon and this was the food That is, the prasad that I took here. It is very good and very tasty and prasad . So consider it as prasad. Whenever you come to this temple, you must try to accept this prasad. Now you can guess how big this part is and how many people are volunteering in it. Mainly all the people are Burmese Tamil Hindus from South India who are serving food and drinks in this entire complex, in the temple, in this village. This is the entire container in which all this rice has been cooked and stored here . So look at this and you might be thinking that it has been there for a long time but this is also absolutely fresh and fresh rice which has been cooked here. The smell of this rice is also very good, fragrance and in a way, whoever has eaten the food, is also immediately engaged in cleaning. In this section, if you have to wash your hands etc. and use the washroom etc., then of course you can use it. I am showing you the biggest mega kitchen here. So this is the main part where actually all the food is cooked. So literally you can see that this whole hall has been made so big where food is cooked. And you can also see that the food is being cooked here, it is being cooked in a pure authentic way using wood. In this way, there are all these big containers. In one rice is being cooked, in another sambhar is being cooked, in another vegetable curry is being cooked. And the good thing is that you will get to eat only vegetarian food in this whole place. There is absolutely no non-veg here. Now you think because anyway it is a Hindu temple, so here you will get to eat only vegetarian food. Friend, I met this one family and these people are Burmese Nepalese who live in such a peak. Well we call it Choti. In India, friend, this is a whole cute sweet family. All these people actually came here to visit this temple. Oh Jai Shri Krishna Sir Ji. Jai Shri Krishna. So where do you people live here Sir Ji? This is in Mogok. Well, it is far from here. 700 kms. So today you have come here specially to visit here? Yes Yes. Oh what a thing. What a thing. All of us are one family. We are a joint family. Oh wow. And how many of you people must be living there where you are living. There are mostly Nepalis there. Like 80% Nepali population is there. There is a ruby mine in Burma, where ruby is extracted, there are a lot of Nepalis in that area. There are big temples and Gurudwaras and Arya Samaj. My uncle’s 13th year work in Gujarat ended and it has been 15 days now. So let’s visit our temple today. We all got a chance to meet and reached here. I am very happy to meet you. Thank you, thank you so much. So friends, this is the whole family and everyone, look, the whole family, I think everyone with the kids, has come here for a stroll. Have you ever been to India? Have you been? Where in India have you been? I went to Delhi. Delhi, Banaras. Banaras. So I am from Banaras, Kashi, my city, Prayagraj Maha Kumbh. If you all know, I am from there. Muslims , Chinese, people of every religion come here to pray in this temple. Why is that so? I mean, what is its main specialty? Here, your wishes get fulfilled if you pray. I have heard that Prabhu Deva came a little ahead. I had come two weeks ago. Prabhu Deva had come. So we did not get a chance. I felt very happy. I felt even happier after meeting you. No no, if you remember God with a true heart, it gets fulfilled here. It gets fulfilled. So, your wishes will definitely get fulfilled. Thank you, thank you so much. Thank you so much. Oh, nice, nice. Bye-by, take care. Jealous. Okay. So, friend, these were some Nepali families with whom I made you talk and I especially wanted to tell you that as they told you, if you come here and wish to pray to God with a true heart, then your wish definitely gets fulfilled. For which , people of any religion from the world, as Sir told, it does not matter whether you are a Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist. People of every religion come here to worship. I found this one of the best thing about this entire temple. So let’s visit this temple too. I will take you inside it too Let me show you the darshan. You will see a lot of trees etc. in the upper part . Mostly you will see a peepal tree here, even in the upper part of the temple. Apart from this, you will see these two statues at the entrance of the gate . You can see this and here also, mainly the South Indians, especially Tamil people, bow down from outside the temple with folded hands before entering the temple. What saying? Blogging. Okay. So here also, as you enter, first of all see this is the prasad section where bananas, coconuts etc. are kept. If you want to take them to God and offer them, then you can take all those things from here and then after taking them inside, you can dedicate them to God in the main temple courtyard. Reno Re R Na Renu Re No Dhim Dhum Dhim Dhim Dhim Dhim Dhim Dhim Dhim Dhim Dhim Dhim Dhim Dhim Dhim Dhim O Dha So yaar just now I have visited this temple and actually videography and photography is not allowed in the main temple inside the complex. So because of this the main idol present in this temple is of Shri Muneshwar Swami. Whom I told you as Sun Temple, he is seated here. So a very grand and very beautiful idol. That means after seeing it, I felt like staring at that temple for a long time. Keep looking at the idol. The way God has been decorated here. I got to see a very lovely and wonderful form. And here also the priests are sitting who are helping all these devotees who are coming to give them darshan in every way like I got to see everything in the previous temple, you will get to see almost similar everything here. The complex area inside this temple, the design, the architecture, everything is almost the same. Here also you can see Peepal tree and Neem tree, Papaya tree, Tulsi and Banyan, you will find all these different trees here as well. There is a separate counter for breaking coconuts. Lemon is specially offered here and it is considered auspicious. After offering it back to you as a good luck, they return it which you can take to your home. So it was very nice and I think you will have to take time if you want to visit this entire temple . It may take around 2 to 4 hours. Yes Chotu, tell me. Do you know Hindi? Do you know Hindi? What is your name? What is your name? Namela. Nameela, you are from here, Tamil, na Tamil, Tamil and Verma, Tamilnama is a good name. What is your name? Hey friend, the problem is that I don’t know Tamil, all these people speak Tamil. So, guys, I think I told you in the last video that all the Indians who used to live here in ancient times were Hindus. At that time, Myanmar was called as Burma especially in the British era. And all the Indians, Hindus who used to live here, including all these Tamils, they used to call this Myanmar as the Land of Gold. The reason for this was that at that time, Myanmar was so rich, it held so much cultural heritage because there were a lot of opportunities, business, all these things here and this whole country was an opportunity for them, due to which it was also called as Swarnabhoomi or Land of Gold . Or they used to call it Burma. The Hinduism that you have here, in this way, the Bihari community also came into it. Tamils and Telugus from the South have also come and you will find people from different communities like Marwari, Gujarati, Sindhi. But this area, especially the Chaturanya area, here you will find majority of Tamils, i.e. Tamilian Hindus. And you will find many temples like this . And perhaps you will be surprised to hear that the number of temples present in Myanmar is more than countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. If we talk about Hindu temples. Yes, I thought that perhaps you would find them in Bangladesh or your neighboring country Nepal or all these countries. But I just read this in a survey somewhere. If that source is to be believed, then you will find more temples in Myanmar than in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan . What is your opinion on this? Please tell me by commenting. Rest, this is a very lovely, very beautiful and grand temple which is in the form of Pilkat Temple. It is also known in Tamil Nadu. So if you have time, you must visit it . And here, especially Tamil Cow Release Ceremony is also hosted on a very big level. If you have time for that too, then if you come at that time, then all these fields etc. that you are seeing are completely full. And from India also, especially from Tamil Nadu and from the South part of India, from far-off places, from Nepal, all the people come here to see that ceremony. So friend, this temple was just behind me. You can see that from there I think you will come hardly 500 meters. So this is the diversion from where you actually turn towards the temple. It looks like a small market. You see this. So here you will get to see local Burmese food, Burmese food and some local Burmese vegetables. So I thought I will show you this market part once. Brother, there are a lot of dogs here . Well, you will keep barking a lot. But let me show you the landmarks once . So you can see this is a very historical landmark. Shri Ankleshwari and Shri Munkeshwar. There is a board with the name Devsthan. Bhagwan Bholenath Shiv Shankar ji, Mata Parvati and Shivling and this is the road from where I am coming from. So you can go ahead from this road. Rice cultivation is also done in large quantity in Burma. Because rice is their main staple food, you can say that they use rice in every meal. So because of this, you will see only rice cultivation in many places here. In between, you will also get to see banana trees, papaya trees and guava trees. There are also jamuns etc. here which many people grow here. Rest, this is a little river area . It is a proper village, a small village and in this village, people must be living in small houses around here. I think this is the police booth and this is the mode of transport of the village, which you will find local people using everywhere. So, all the shops, sheds etc. here, you will get to see the details of these huts etc. here. They have built this entire market and their shops using wood and the reeds etc. around here. Oh Namaste Namaste, these are all people. Look, I am saying Namaste, so they are also saying Namaste. And all these are local Burmese. These people set up their small shops here. So some have small grocery shops, for example. So look, there are biscuits etc., toffees etc. Rest, because these people eat and drink a lot, you will get to see them. Rest, these local vegetables, I think, I had also shown you in the previous section where those grandmothers were sitting and selling. So they are calling it palm cake. And this one that you are seeing, inside it is actually sticky rice. So they have steamed the rice which is how the local people eat it here. So this is actually the process of natural cooking where rice, beans, banana, all these things are actually rolled inside it. And then after that it is cooked. The way of cooking is to boil it, steam it . Like we don’t cook idli, it is something like that. So almost the cooking style here is very similar to that of South India . Like we cook idli, appam, etc. In almost the same way, you will find the culture of eating here. The method of eating in Burma is also almost similar. You can also see this. This Didi is sitting. So this is coconut. The whole material inside it is being rolled and peeled out . Then they will roll it in rice or whatever cake they make and fill it in it. So all these local people are the people living in this village who set up their shops here. They support themselves. So you can see that due to the current situation in Myanmar, no one does much shopping. So in this way these people sit from morning till evening. They keep waiting for customers. If someone comes and buys something, then they will be able to go and support themselves. They will be able to support their family. So you will get to see this a lot. Apart from this, there is also dried fish etc. here. You can see this. Brother, the smell is very strong. I will not be able to even stand here. But these are all dried fish here. You see different types of fish in a line. They are dried, powdered, grinded. And this is here because there are lakes and rivers nearby. So I think they must be collecting it from all those places. This is fish sauce brother which they use a lot here in cooking. Fish sauce. Yes. Oh here also I think the same item is everywhere. Oh Namaste Namaste. And this was our vehicle with which we have come. Bhai has also been waiting for us for a long time today. So now we will quickly go towards the town because Amara is also very tired now, very tired, isn’t it? Amara. I am saying Amara is also very tired. So now let’s go to the town. This video so guys this was our vehicle and here is ours and this is the bus stand of this beautiful Chatun town, it is very cute, very beautiful town, friend you can see this and right now from here we will take bus number 95 which goes directly to the downtown of Yangon . I liked the downtown area of Yangon a lot. It is a little peaceful here. You will find the roads wide and it is a very green area. Actually there is so much field area around that farming is done here a lot. So because of this you will see jackfruit trees, coconut trees, many fruit trees here. I liked it a lot. It is also peaceful as compared to the city center. If you compare it, you can see it here and I think there is a South Indian family standing in front. So friend, it is about to be 2:00 in the afternoon and this is a supermarket named A to Z where we have just come and stayed. So Amara said that let’s go and have some coffee etc. and Amara was feeling hungry again. So that’s why we have come to a shop right now. So what has Amara bought for herself? What is this? Ice coffee. Ice coffee. So Amara has ordered ice coffee. And for me she has ordered black coffee. That too with ice and she likes sweets a lot. So toast with butter and sweet. Sugar because you love sugar. So let’s eat and drink a little and then I think their house will be around 2 to 3 km from here in the town itself. So there is a local market there. So my friend told me to visit that local market. Let’s take some rest first because there is a lot of sweating here too. I mean like I am the guest. No you are the guest now. Yes. You are not from the whole city. So I am not from here with those people for us. Or guys like she is selling in the markets we are riding. So yaar just now we have hired a tuktuk from this A to Z shopping center. This was my first experience of riding a tuktuk. So you will see a lot of these Bajaj TVS Tuktuks here . This is one of the most common means of transport also in young people , this Tuktuk. No, young people are not allowed to drive inside the downtown, no, that’s the reason I didn’t notice that they are running inside the downtown, most of the time they are in sub areas, outside the city, or you saw this, our teacher also told me that I think they are not allowed to drive this kind of vehicle inside the downtown, that is why you will rarely see them inside the city. Rest, you can see this part, it is very green and clean, you will see temples everywhere, the roads etc. will appear very wide, so look in front, a school bus carrying children is going here. So what is the school time here in Myanmar? I may be like 9 to 3 pm, morning 9 am to evening 3 pm that is the normal usual time. So here in Myanmar, the dress code in school is a combination of white and green colour. So you can see this. So guys, right now I have reached near one of our temples in the Thailin area . You can see the whole part behind. So in this area where I am present right now, you will get to see many temples. You must be seeing this temple which is also a South Indian temple at a distance of around 500 metres. So this is a very lovely, very big temple in a different neighbourhood of Yangon, Thailand, where I have brought you. You will get to see its biggest temple here. So let’s go inside. Let’s have a little darshan and I will also introduce you to the people who are inside here . It’s a close now. Yes they are going to open around 4 pm yes do you know Hindi oh what is your name Kumar yes Kumar So you are from here, from Burma, okay you live here, so how many people are there here? All the priests, yes 11, 12, 11 people. I met more people here, friend. Oh, Namaste, Namaste, how are you guys, Sir? All of you are speaking in Hindi . Ok, so friend, these two people, only these two can actually speak in Hindi, all the rest of these people, all of them can speak in local Burmese. Everyone, Namaste, Namaste, Jai Shri Krishna. And your name is Lakhan, Lakhan. Oh, friend, it’s a very lovely name, friend. And Lakhan ji is also smiling very sweetly, friend, it was very nice. And look, he is wearing this garland very nicely. Oh, he’s Jitendra ji . Jitendra ji was also speaking Hindi very well. How old are you now? 14. 14 years. Okay. So, how many people would you be in total? How many people is this whole group? Temple, whole temple. Yes, whole temple, 20 three. There are around 20 people in the whole temple including you all. There are many other big people. Very big. So do you people also get initiation education here? There is education. Ok. Burmese, English. Ok. Then there is Hindi. Here? Yes. Ok. So does it happen here or somewhere else? We have just come back after studying. There is no delay. After studying we are going out and studying. What is the name of the International International School? Amamay Amamay School. It is an international school. International, so there is education in Burmese? English. English. English Burmese. Ok. We just study Hindi here. Ok, we study Hindi here. Were you all born here? No, where are we? We are from Jivadi. You all are from Jiyawadi. It feels good that all of you are from Jiyawadi. Oh friend, look, our parents sent us to the temple. Stay in the temple, study, grow, stay here. Ok. So for how many months have you all been here? I have been here for three years. You have been here for three years. Three years. So you study in that school here. You study Hindi here and what do you do? I chant. Worship, serve God. Oh and for how long do you people do worship here? It starts at 4:30 in the morning. Yes, it ends at 5:10. Well, in the morning and then in the evening it starts at 7:15. Then it ends at 8:00. Aarti etc. is done daily. Yes, Aarti is done daily, we do bhawan puja seven times a day. Well, then once again at 12:00. Yes. At 12:00 and then at 4:00. Yes and 4:00. So friend, it was very nice to meet these people and let’s take a photo with them first. So friend, the temple is quite big and very cute, very beautiful. This is the back side of the temple, I think. The main gate is from where you can enter. And if the temple opens, I would take you inside and show you the main deity. The rest of this is the whole complex of the temple. You can see that the entire garden here is full of very nice coconut palm trees and also different fruits, fruits and flowers, all of them have been planted here. Inside, I think there are some stays etc. There are actually different types of cottages. Look, this is bamboo hut. There is a tin shed on top. All these cottages etc. have been built in a very beautiful and well organized manner . I think all the food and drink of these people happens here. The rest of these are local vehicles. I think their goods etc. must be coming and going in this and they must be using it as local transport as well. Okay, your name? Raghuveer. Raghuveer ji. So you are also from Jiyawadi? Oh friend this is Raghuveer ji. See he is also from Jiyawadi. Your age is 16 years. 16 years. 16 years old friend. I liked one thing very much. I think friend you must be knowing that preserving Hindi , teaching Hindi in a country like Myanmar where there is no subject called Hindi in this country because the local language here is Burmese and as these people told that English are the two main languages which are most spoken and taught here but despite that in this way our Bhojpur region which includes Bihar, Nepal ‘s Lumbini Awadhi Gorakhpur, Samastipur all these areas, people living from there for 100 years are trying to preserve Hindi and specially Bhojpuri in Myanmar country. Like this is a very big thing in the country. It is a matter of pride movement which these people are keeping here. Many times you must have heard that when we go to different countries, especially in our own country India, many times different things are said about Hindi, Bhojpuri, Bihar region, Uttar Pradesh region in different states . But in a country like Myanmar, preserving and promoting Hindi, Bhojpuri, Awadhi, Maithili in this way, I think is one of the biggest examples in itself. Salute is due in this way. I think Jiyawadi region in Myanmar, Few region or every region where all these people are still engaged in preserving and promoting their culture, their civilization, their Sanatan culture in this way . Especially you can see that their parents live in Jiyawadi which is several 100 kms away from here. Still, we have sent our children from there to here to at least study and in this way they can mix and learn in rituals, culture and our Sanatan Dharma, Hindu culture, so that a message can be given to the coming generation and this culture can be continued in the future so that no one forgets. I liked this thing very much. What do you people have to say on this ? I think all the people from any corner of the world, especially if you are from Bihar. You are from Uttar Pradesh. You are a Bihari. So after hearing this and feeling this, you should feel proud that yes, we are Biharis. We are Bhojpuri. And we belong to this state, this region, where, in such a country, preserving, maintaining the culture and civilization in this way is a very big thing in itself. Perhaps I might have told you in the previous video that Jiawadi is the only region in Myanmar where, I think, from ancient times, in the 80s and even 90s, all the people from the Indian community had come here, especially to work in the sugar mill factories. The third and fourth generations of those people are the ones you can see today . So, they are the ones who actually contributed to the GDP of Myanmar, the development of Myanmar, the infrastructure of Myanmar. Although the situation in today’s Myanmar is a little different, but whatever Myanmar you have seen today, if anyone has contributed the most, worked the most, worked the most, from day one, even before independence and after independence, then it is these people from Jiawadi, from India, from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and from different regions, who have contributed the most. So, from this, I think we should all feel proud and happy. Oh, thank you, thank you, Sir, Namaste. Hello, how are you Sir? I am fine. This is Madan Sir. Sir, are you also from Jiyawadi? Yes, I am from Jiyawadi. Oh, what a thing, I met Madan Ji as well . See, he is able to speak in proper Hindi as well. You were also born in Burma. He was born in Burma. But our grandfathers and great grandfathers went to India. Where in India? Bihar? Bihar is there. My father came from India. He came from India. And you were born in Jiyawadi? You were born in Jiyawadi. So, did you study there as well? It happened there. Everything happened there. How many temples are there? There is only one. Isn’t it? The biggest, the first and the most important is right here in Yangon. I mean it is in Thalin. This is the temple of Lord Ram. Lord Shri Ram’s Shri Ram Lala. Oh, what a thing. What a thing. The temple will open in a little while, right? Yes, it will open in a little while. They are building all this. Okay, now its construction is going on again. It was a little small, so we are building it a little further and a little further. Okay, so all this is being built right now. It is not yet complete. Okay, so apart from Shri Ram ji, there are other gods and goddesses too. Lord Ram is Shri Ram ji. There is Laxman ji, Sita maiya . Hanuman ji is Hanuman ji. Okay, there are idols of all the gods and goddesses. How many people are there here in total? There are 26 of us here. There are 26 children and 12. Okay, and the rest are all adults. Okay. Okay. There are 12 of us in Burma. Total 12. Right? Total 12. Live in the whole of Myanmar. In Yangon, that is, in this area, there is one. Apart from this, there are two in all the other Malays. Okay, that is in Mogo. Okay. There is one in Chaumei. Oh, there is a Jagannath temple in Michna. Oh, what would be the population of Indians Hindus? How many people? There are a lot of Hindus here. We cannot do the total now. And most of them have business here. Do they have shops or what? Yes, they do it here and also go to the city. To work. Yes, they go there to work. They have shops there too. They have good shops. They go there in the morning. They do their work. After doing it, they come back in the evening. They come back in the evening. And whenever there is a festival, how do you people celebrate it here? Diwali, Holi, everything is celebrated with great pomp and show, exactly the same as our Indian culture. Yes, it is like that. It was very nice to meet you. Please come to India once. And I will give you my number. Please be our guest sometime. So this temple has two names, actually it is called Shri Vinay Nagar Temple or Shri Ganesh Temple Thalin. I am sharing this location with you. Exactly its coordinates, if you want to come here, you can come easily. This is a very lovely, very beautiful complex area. You can see this. And the temple has many different gates. I think here also you will see four different gates, East Gate, West Gate . The gate from which I have come is this gate and here also I think in all the temples that I have visited in Burma, everywhere you will definitely get to see the idol of the specific Navgrah deities and their temples. Similarly, I am getting to see it here also. I will show you by zooming where inside this temple also you can see the Gods who are Navgrah deities. That the main temple, the main temple, its gate is in front, which you will see the yellow gate. Look on one side, I think it is the temple of Lord Ganesha. Because of this, you will get to see the idol of Lord Ganesha on both sides here. And the two statues that you see at the entrance point, which god are represented by them, whoever knows, please tell us by commenting. Look at the colour combination of the entire temple, yellow and cream colour combination has been used on the top . And in the lower part, you will see a little brown colour in the entire temple. In the middle, you will see yellow colour strips everywhere. It looks as if it is covered with gold. I think there are halls etc. inside. There are puja paath, satsang, bhajan kirtan and whenever there is a big function etc., I think all these different sections are made for that. Right now, everything is locked. I will show you this by walking close to it. Well, this is a kind of banquet hall inside. It is completely empty. There is a sitting area. So here a dedicated area has been made for serving food and drink after the langar and other poojas. So friends you must be knowing this, if you don’t know then here is an information for you that if we go into the history of many freedom fighters of our country, then Lokmanya Tilak and Subhash Chandra Bose’s connection is also seen with Myanmar . Especially Lokmanya Tilak who was kept in Mandalay jail for around six years . Subhash Chandra Bose who had gone to the city of Jiyawadi and along with this, here you are shown the connection of Tagore, Nehru, Gandhi with Myanmar in a very deep way. So these are some such names which I think you will get to see a lot if you go to study history. Amma namah no name Anjma Anjma yes oh Amma yaar see Amma has applied nice sandalwood Amma Tamil Tamil Tamil yes okay Tamil Tamil okay okay Hindi brother Hindi a little bit no no okay okay so actually yaar see this is brother also brother your name brother your name Govind Govind Raj so this is Govind Raj ji he is also a Tamil. And sister Lakshmi Lakshmi oh Lakshmi in person yaar so she is goddess Lakshmi and these people actually now see Hindi because they cannot speak so Amma and Amma’s daughter Lakshmi ji is there. So actually both of them live inside the temple here . And the care taking of the whole temple is in the hands of these people. And the brother who has just come has just brought the keys. I think he is going to open this temple for the local people. Actually today we will show you Pikha temple because that whole area which is a part of the village is there A lot of Tamil Hindus have been living here since the beginning. They have been living there since around 200-300 years. So this Amma was also born in another village around 10-20 kms from Pilekha Temple. She was born there. And her father and his father had come here. That is, his grandfather had come from India. He was from some state or city of Tamil Nadu but these two, their father and they too were born here in Burma. So this entire area, all these neighborhoods, all these sub areas that I am showing you, all these small village areas, you will get to see at least 50 such villages in this part of Myanmar where you will find Tamil Indians, that is, Burmese Tamil Hindus who are currently living here in Myanmar, they have been living here for 100 years, Tamil temples, so here you will get to see a lot of temples with this kind of architecture in the entire Yangon Down and in Yangon itself, as you come out of the city center, in the sub areas, in the neighborhood areas, in different parts, in small villages, you will get to see a lot of such temples. Hey Namaste, what did you say, Ansh Mishra , just now the Aarti of Lord Shri Ganesh ji took place and here a specific Pandit ji also did a special puja for us, so you can consider it as a blessing for all of you too . But you will not find much crowd in this temple. I think the Burmese Hindus living in the nearby areas must be coming here to do puja and rituals and during the day time, as I told you, mostly all the temples are closed like this. This is the back side of the temple and there is a well in front of it. I think water supply must be done from this well. And you will be surprised to hear this. After asking Pandit ji, I came to know that this temple was built during the British period. That is, the British people got this temple built by all the South Indian Tamil Hindus who used to live here. So you can imagine that this temple is around 120 years old which you can see now. And from then till now, it used to be quite small. But later, when some people living here donated, this temple was made a little bigger. amara I want to ask you how was your experience today while visiting the pilate temple tell me the food was ok and they are so women and to keep us and and then they are offering style then I’m just I never have experience so this is my first time and I’m I’m doing witches like when I’m my quit school I will be bad again to 15 ok wow yaar nice that’s so sweet of you if I will ask about your Burmese main festival so what are the main festivals which you celebrate ah water festival or no what not water what kind of festivals festival or we have so many festivals like like water festival lightning festival like kind on diwali diwali we have thing like Indian like diwali in india so you do have also or like kind of lightning festival or what you call in local language and the danger danger the danger ok meera oh that’s the local name of that festival yes and how about color festival also you have no we don’t have water festival you say what is that name local tjay tjay same like in Thailand sora yes oh it’s like same like in our place like we play Holi so here Holi happens as well. Diwali happens here as well. How about weddings? Yes local weddings Burmese weddings or so so like it it is now we are the after bit Kuman day so we just prohibited for the wedding ok these days because of the full Monday but usually how it happens? next next three months after after three months later like their wedding it started to celebrate now because this three months we like need to focus for that and then or weep our like so we do no kind of this and we don’t drink it’s like spiritual month yes kind of okay where you guys don’t do this kind of things only you wait for next three months then you start having the ceremonies different ceremonies yes oh okay so local Burmese people what they eat as a normal in every day life every day right that’s your many staple foods There curry curry okay any kind of curry vegetables not whatever you want you want fish curry and chicken whatever so rice with curry that is the main staple food which every local people ya ya and we are like so much in traditional like we we like to we like to eat fish face okay fish face like kind of the fish sauce yes so and this is the most of the people have to eat in Myanmar okay fish fish and the stand of the way yes ya that is the my dish right so guys I have just come from Bhagwan Shree Shree Jagannath Temple which is in Thalin of Yangon in Myanmar which is a different area, different district, you will get to see it there. This is a very lovely, very beautiful Lord Jagannath temple. You can see the flag on the top. And this is the complete part of the temple where different figures are carved. Very ancient. I think around this is also a 100-150 years old temple which is present here. Let ‘s go inside and see the rest of the detailed history. If I meet any priest, I will ask him and tell you. You will see banana trees on both sides in the outer temple courtyard. A lot of gardening has been done here as well. And this is the locality neighborhood where this Sri Jagannath temple is situated. It is present. This is its detail. I think timings etc. what is written here? Pranam. How are you? What is your name Pandit ji? Krishna Krishna ji, so friend this is Krishna ji. Pandit ji, are you from here? You are from Burma. You are from Burma. You were also born here and your father came from the same country. From where? From India. Came from Nepal. From Nepal. Well you are Nepali. Oh what is it. What is it. You know the Nepali language. I don’t know Nepali. You know it. Yes. And this Uncle, he is Oriya. Oriya. Oh, what a thing, friend, Uncle is from Jagannath city, that is, from our Orissa. Ah Uncle, your name? Name is Krishna Krishna. Oh Hare Krishna Hare Krishna. Uncle’s name here is Krishna. And Uncle is from there? From Orissa? No, no, he is from here. Well Uncle was born here. The Babas are from Orissa. The Babas are from Orissa. Right now there are no Babas. Okay. How old is this temple Pandit ji? It’s 117 years. 117 117 Oh and I think this is also a temple from British times. A lot of Guriyals had come here, we had brought them here with BT. So whatever roads were built in Burma, the Guriyals built the railway and motor roads in Burma. Yes, they built everything in Burma. That means whatever roads, railway tracks etc. were there at that time, all those people who had come from India were the ones who had come here. And how many people from Orissa had come at that time? It must be around 200-300. 200-300 people had come at that time . The British had brought these people here from Orissa . So, all these people were brought here to build and work. So, in which area did most of their families live from the beginning? Yes, everywhere Machna Kachhan State is called Machna, so there were most of the Oriyas there. There is an Oriya Jagannath temple there. Is there? Well, it is big. It is the oldest and the smallest. Well, this is the biggest, the oldest and the biggest . Of Lord Jagannath. There are four Jagannath temples in Yang. We have four Jagannath temples in the entire Yangon . Oh, it’s great. And how much would the population of Oriya people be in the present time? Right now there are 50 , 40, 50 families. They are still living here. And most of them are in Yangon only. Kaka’s family is in Yangon, Kaka is married, Kaka’s family is here. They are here. This is good. So you have also got a quarter here to live? We have got it at the back. Yes, the Nepali people of Burma follow their language. They have not left their religion. They have not left their Nepal. What a thing. They have not left their culture. They go there. It ‘s a great thing Pandit ji. It was nice to meet you all. Let me have a darshan once . There is aarti. Okay. No, she knows it. She is my friend. Her house is here. She is from here. Local, okay Kaka my brother and. Do you want to call just remove the sleeper Jai Jagannath the ceiling is getting damaged from above water is falling and it’s okay no problem Jai Jagannath Jai Jagannath Jai Jagannath I am Mata Bhaiya , just now I had darshan of Lord Jagannath ji and made you all also have darshan. You must have seen a very beautiful idol inside. I think I have been trying for many times to visit Lord Jagannath ji especially in Odisha . But that is not happening. But hopefully I think I have visited many countries where I have visited recently and I got a chance to have darshan of Lord Jagannath ji there. And I think if any of you people have not visited then I tried to make you visit here and I think Burma would be such a country for me and I think for all of you also where I have visited the most number of temples in a day. Especially since I have come you people must have also noticed that you will get to see so many idols and temples of our Hindu Gods and Goddesses here due to which you will feel here. This is a 117 year old temple and its structure was built by the people of India who had come from Orissa especially during the British era. So you will see three different shapes here. The main house, that is, the main part of the temple is the biggest one which you can see at the back. Then after that the middle part and then this first part. So as soon as you come out, there is a small evening market here. Where local people are selling vegetables, fruits, vegetables, fish and all the other items used in daily essentials. You can see this. So everywhere you will get to see local markets like this. What happens in Myanmar is that different types of markets are held. Sometimes it is held in the morning in some part, in the evening in some part, sometimes it is held in the afternoon, sometimes it is held for the whole day. So in this way you will get to see different types of markets in different parts at different times. Well friend, it is about to be 6:00 in the evening, brother it is getting late. We have been out since morning . We are trying to show you this entire area, which is considered an ancient area, especially in terms of Hinduism, where Burmese Hindus and our Hindu people who have come from India live here. For this reason, you will see Peepal tree everywhere. Neem tree will be seen here. Where people are seen doing Puja Paath. Oh 31 bus. So brother, look at this in Myanmar, in this part, the cinema hall, the movie theater, is something like this. So the movie that is playing here, Burmese movie is playing, I think. You see this and its name is Digital Cinema Laser Project 3D Wiz like this and the name of the cinema is I think Red Digital Cinema Network. Brother, the cinema hall in Myanmar is something like this. At present, movies etc. are not playing, I think. They must be playing. Right now, it is completely under construction renovation . The rest of these are some locality neighborhoods where I am showing you all this entire area of Thailand. So brother, look at this Pansodan Street and this is Shri Ganesh Temple which I think I must have shown you in the previous video. So it is around 6:30 in the evening and after visiting all these areas, I have come back close to my hostel. That is, in the Yangon downtown area. So this was my overall experience of today which was quite good. Especially in Myanmar, the structure of our ancient Hindu temple, the lifestyle of the people there, the village area, especially the ancient temple as well as Hindu village life, I tried to show you all these things through this video, which was a very good experience for me. You must have seen throughout this video and later coming back, I tried to show the lifestyle of all the local Burmese Hindu people living in the Thailin area. One thing I would definitely like to correct is that in the entire video, I think I might have taken the name of Indian Hindu many times. So what I meant to say was that Burmese Indian, because all the Hindu people or Indian people living here, their origin is from India. That means these people are the fourth father generation who came from here or people are living in the third generation or fourth generation. But their grandfathers actually came here from different states of India, some from Tamil Nadu, some from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, from different regions, different states, especially from Bengal. So because of this, what I meant to say is that you can refer to them as a Burmese Indian or Burmese Hindu. Please consider. This was what I meant to say and every now and then I am using Burma instead of Myanmar. The reason behind it is also the same because Burma is a little easy and the local people who are of the old generation still like to call Myanmar as Burma. So this is also a reason. So I think if anyone from Myanmar is watching this video, then don’t be offended by the fact that why I am repeatedly calling Myanmar as Burma. So the specific reason for mine is that this is an easy pronunciation and along with that it was my attempt to give a local touch which I have used. Apart from that you must have seen that wherever I have gone to the temple, I have offered prasad etc. here voluntarily. In the aarti at every place, I tried to give whatever I could from my side. Reason because the present situation here, the conditions of the country, people like us will have to come and contribute a little bit to the country. Local purchasing will have to be done because you know that there is an economic crisis here. So to support all these things, wherever I go to eat local food, I mainly try to give a little extra to the people working there . But I am not recording all these things again and again to show you. Many of you people also say that wherever you go, at least try to give something. So one or two ways of giving is that you purchase local things there. But you do that for yourself as we all know. But if giving a little extra brings a smile on people’s faces, then that is a very good thing. Which I am trying to do at many places. Even on the camera or off the camera. So these were all the things. I hope you all have enjoyed this entire video. Please share your feedback as you liked the video. What did you like and what did you not like. Despite the condition of the rest of the country being so bad, the simplicity of the people here, their way of nature, their way of presentation, in many parts you will feel that I think you have reached the era of 1950s. The way the lifestyle is here. But overall, if seen, it was a very good experience. As much as you roam, whatever I think I have shown you, overall in all those places, you must have also noticed that the lifestyle is a little bit like the old lifestyle of 1950-1960, the way there are carts and horses here, the dressing sense of the people here, almost 60% of the people here will be seen wearing their clothes in lungi-dhoti. You will see many people sitting on the road, eating, selling goods, selling things. I did not find the transport mode to be that much developed here. Overall, whatever I noticed, you must have noticed that too during the entire video. So there are many such places where you will get to see this kind of lifestyle. That’s all for now in this video. Now I will meet you in the next video. Till then bye-bye take care from Yangon Myanmar.
