松山の道後温泉を散策
All right, welcome back. We are back in Matsuyama. We just wrapped up a walk at the castle. Now we’re heading to [Music] find the tramway to go see the onen. Seems like a good idea to me. I think if we hang a left here, we’ll be able to catch the tram a couple of streets over. So, let’s try it. And we’ll be able to see some surface streets here. The tram is this way. The sandwich part of that sounded pretty good right about now. It’s 10:00 a.m. and your boy has gone up and down a mountain and across an island today. So far, so far. The day is young. Let’s keep doing it. Nope. We wait a minute. Nope. Yep. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for being a friend, not running over me. I don’t have the end of that song. All right. So, straight up there at that really busy street at the very end of this street, my gut tells me I’ll find a tram running down the middle of the street. And if I do, then I just need to find a tram station or pickup spot. And then I boop, Bob’s your uncle. I’m on a tram. This is an interesting perspective. A vanishing line straight down the middle. Vanishing point. Tram. I was right. I love it when a plan comes together. Oh, Gucci. Excuse me. All right, there’s the tram. Where’s the stop? Hopefully not more than a couple of blocks. Oh, here’s a Lawson station. I might stop and get a drink at said Lawson Station. Rabbit. Oh, look at that car. So cool. Datsum. All right, let’s see how close is the tram stop. Oh, right up there. That’s honestly not too bad. There’s some blue sky up there. I see you, blue sky. You can’t hide forever. And I think the tram is like 200 yen no matter how far you ride. Like you hop on, hop off, it’s like a buck. Something is blooming here that is absolutely wrecking me. some kind of flower and it is giving me the worst allergies. So, pardon me for coughs or sneezes. I’ll try to hold the phone really far away. You are here. We want to go to Dogo onen stop 24 red one. So I will stop for a moment and resume when we get a tram. There we go. Here comes said tram. And we’ll say boop boop. All right, we just hopped off the tram. Here we are at the tram station and Starbucks. And here is the botchen train. And I think there’s one of the running trams that looks like this if I read the sign back there correctly. But uh let’s go find the Spirited Away onen. Not exactly sure where we go. Maybe this way. This looks like a fun way to go anyway. If this isn’t the way We’ll figure it out eventually. So, this is a shopping street at least. [Music] We’ll see if we spit out at the onen or if we needed to go a different direction. But this is cute at the very least. Looks like a a honey place. A fro yo with honeycomb stuck in it. That’s something I’ve never had before. My bachin dango 30. Hm. Interesting. always like a good shopping street. I think we’ll hang a ride up here at the end of it. What is this? It’s a pie vending machine. H like hand pies. Very cool. Oh, this place looks good. Look at that. Yum. And then a a gacha place. and lots of little cafes and frozen yogurt places. So, my kind of street for sure. And here’s a Lawson’s. And we’ll hang a right here, I think. Yeah, that looks right. Wow, big souvenir store. I think that’s the onen straight ahead. So, not too far from the station. Those trams are pretty convenient. And I took a picture inside. I didn’t want to film inside. I’ll add it to the to the video. There’s a Toro store. Kind of expected to see one of those. [Music] Yeah, here is the onen. And a lot of the pictures I saw had like scaffolding and stuff. So, it looks like they’ve finished whatever reconstruction was going on. They’re taking dachshun pictures. That’s fun. And I don’t think we’re going to go in. I don’t think we’re going to pay to go into the onson. We’re certainly not going to take a bath, but we’ll keep looking around this little area around, which is always fun. All kinds of honey and frozen yogurt. Could actually use lunch. Oh, here’s a foot bath. A place to sit. And lest we forget, this is actually a hot springs area. So that there’s a lot of hotels that have hot springs. It’s a pretty good shot. Let’s walk all the way around. This whole area feels like it’s kind of just smack dab right in the middle of suburban Matsyama. And you can see why this is thought to have inspired Spirited Away and the Onen in Spirited Away. the multilevel kind of larger than life steamboat looking awesomeness. That is an impressive structure. Wow. We’ll walk around this side, too. [Music] All right. Well, everybody, this is Dogo Anson. And again, I’m sorry I’m not paying to go inside. I just don’t feel like it because I’m going to get on the train and go see another town today. It’s uh 10:32 a.m. I think we went through that way. So, let’s go around a different way as we head back to the train. It is a pretty pretty pretty building. Lots of cool restaurants right around the area and lots of hotels. So, yeah. Glad I saw it. I wouldn’t necessarily put it at the top of the list for Japan. Um, but it was very interesting to see and certainly if you’re actually going to experience the onen and I bet it’s kind of cool at night actually instead of 10:30 a.m. But if you’re going to actually go to the onson, I think that would be pretty cool. Let’s see. Can we walk down this alley here? Yes, we can. Oh, it looks great. All right. There’s some good smells already coming from some of these places. I don’t know. For me, I like a good alley like this better than I like the historic onson. Like, this is fantastic. Like give me the shambles in York over Windsor Castle. [Music] [Music] You just [Music] Small beer vending machine. That’s so funny. That barbecue restaurant in there smells fantastic. All right, friends. We did it. We went to see the onen. And I think now is the time for us to get a snack, get refreshed, and head back to Matsuyama Station. Hope you’ve enjoyed seeing some of the highlights of Matsyama and some of the side streets. I had a good time for sure. That’s it for this episode, everyone. Thank you as always for the love and the support, and we will see you next time. Bye for now.
