Hamamatsu Bus & Train Journey – Part 2 Hello, and welcome to the second part of my Hamamatsu travel video! Continuing with the Entetsu Bus & Train 1-Day Free Pass, I’ll be exploring more of Hamamatsu. Catching the bus from Air Park to the next destination. Looks like the bus is arriving soon. It started raining heavily. Safely on board! My ticket got soaked in the rain… The next destination is about 30 minutes from Air Park. Thank you, bus. It’s currently 1:45 PM, and I’m starving. It’s nice that my destination is close to the bus stop! Heading to “Hama Taro” for Hamamatsu gyoza. The circular gyoza comes in a minimum of 12 pieces. Gyoza Set Meal (12 pieces): ¥1,034 A classic Hamamatsu gyoza style with bean sprouts in the center. Pickles. You can choose from small, medium, or large portions of rice (I chose medium). Miso soup. Let’s dig in. The miso soup includes ingredients like Chinese cabbage, tofu, seaweed, and green onions. Crisp, golden-brown gyoza. One hallmark of Hamamatsu gyoza is the generous use of cabbage The gyoza filling is mixed with house-made soup, making it juicy. There’s a wide variety of dipping sauces, and the most popular is “sesame sauce + chili oil.” I’ll try it with the popular sesame sauce and chili oil. I never thought I’d eat gyoza with sesame sauce… It’s delicious!! The sesame flavor really comes through. Yuzu pepper. Vinegar soy sauce. They also recommend combining yuzu pepper with vinegar soy sauce. The scent of yuzu is lovely. I’m not sure how to eat the bean sprouts. Eating them plain is good, too. I’m hooked on sesame sauce + chili oil now. I wish every gyoza restaurant offered sesame sauce… The chopstick wrapper has instructions on how to fold it into a chopstick rest. I tried making it into a gyoza shape, but it’s hard to see on camera… Adding some bean sprouts to the gyoza. Eating gyoza and bean sprouts together is a bit challenging… The pickles with the miso soup were tasty, too. I ended up eating most of the gyoza with sesame sauce + chili oil. A satisfying meal! Heading back to the bus stop. With a full stomach, I feel light on my feet. Arrived at the “Hamako High School” bus stop. I’ll be on the bus for about 25 minutes, so just relaxing. It’s just after 3:00 PM. Thank you, bus. Switching to the train. Back at the station where I started. A green train. It’s nice to be able to ride both bus and train with the pass. Thank you, train. Today, I’m at Saginomiya Station Some say the mysterious “Kisaragi Station” from the internet forum “2channel” might be here. I’m just here out of curiosity… Heading to the next destination. I’ll be on the train for about 15 minutes. Train rides are fun, too. Thank you, train. The resting red train looks cool, too. I got off at Shin-Hamamatsu Station. Walking to the Hamamatsu Station bus stop. It took about three minutes to return to Hamamatsu Station. The bus I wanted to catch arrived just in time. It’s around 4:30 PM, and it’s starting to get dark. Thank you, bus. After about a 10-minute walk… Arrived at SWEETS BANK, the flagship store of Shunkado, famous for Unagi Pie. Large sculptures like shopping bags and chairs are on display. Glossy surfaces. Even the piggy bank is huge, haha. The store feels like it’s under a dining table. The milk bottles are cute. The restroom was super cute, too. I bought a lot since I love Unagi Pie. Since it’s getting dark, I’m hurrying to the bus stop. After an 8-minute walk, I arrived at the “Kasugacho” bus stop. As soon as I got to the bus stop, the rain and wind picked up again. The wind was so strong it flipped my umbrella… ugh. Only one bus per hour, but it’s late, and I’m worried. Finally, the bus arrived after a long delay (apparently due to traffic). That was the scariest moment of the day… phew. Thank you, bus. How did you like my Hamamatsu Bus & Train Journey? 1.
