Granada, PhilippinesHello , this is Testoku Travel. This time, we are starting from Narita Airport.Today we are heading to Cebu Island in the Philippines~♪ We are going to go whale shark watching and relax on a private beach.I am looking forward to it.We will be using the low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific. There are direct flights to Cebu, but by going via Manila, we can save about 30,000 yen.The price is only 31,600 yen per person one way! I was surprised that I could go to Cebu for around 30,000 yen during Golden Week. Although it takes about three hours to transfer in Manila , 30,000 yen is still a lot, so I decided to give it a try here. I arrived at the check-in counter and was immediately introduced to LCC . First, it seems that I have to do something with the automatic check-in machine. It says please check in at counter E. This is quite a first for me. I used this machine to print out my checked baggage tags and boarding pass, and then returned to the previous counter . The check-in counter was relatively empty, so it went more smoothly than I expected . Since it was Golden Week, I went through security early, and it was surprisingly empty. Looking at it, it seems that it’s true that people say that Japanese people stay at home during Golden Week , and it seems that’s really the case, as it’s quite quiet. LCC So we’re going really far back . It’s definitely better to act early. Now, let’s toast with beer before departing for Cebu. I’m looking forward to my trip to Cebu. Due to a slight mistake on my part , I was supposed to transit , but I got off in Manila, got another ticket from there, and went to Cebu. That’s the route I ended up taking, but I have plenty of time, so I’ll enjoy it. Thank you. The driver is amazing . The food is delicious. We depart at 7:25 p.m. Time passed in the blink of an eye. People say that Cebu Pacific is narrow and cold, but how is it really? The seat on the test flight was a big hit. It was a spacious seat where I could stretch my legs. This time I paid an extra 3,000 yen and got a seat that was a little wider than the normal seats. However, my seat was still a little narrow. There is a USB power outlet next to the seat , so you can charge your smartphone. It was a little cold inside the plane , so I recommend bringing a blanket. Then it was time to depart, but there was no sign of movement . Almost an hour has passed, this is Cebu Pacific, it’s amazing, after nearly an hour of delay we finally departed, why on earth was it so delayed this time it seems the cause was the weather, in fact Cebu Pacific’s delay rate is over 35%, this time we were delayed by about an hour and departed , so everyone, we are finally off , it’s about a five hour flight from Narita Airport to Ninoy Aquino International Airport , it was freezing cold on the plane during the flight , but thanks to the blanket I managed to sleep , while I was sleeping, it was a blink of an eye we arrived at Manila , what is needed to enter the Philippines is e-Travel , an electronic travel application system, you can apply with your smartphone , you just swipe this e-Travel QR at customs and that ‘s it, it was only about 20 minutes from the time the plane arrived to the entry, it was incredibly fast , it was really easy and I’m glad It’s free and you can register 72 hours before departure, so I recommend doing it in Japan . The transfer was smooth and I didn’t have to line up at the check-in counter. I got my ticket just by checking in , so the transfer took less than 20 minutes . It’s a domestic flight in Terminal 3, but it’s quite spacious. There are all kinds of people lazing around. Everyone is waiting normally, even at this late hour. The plane from Haneda was delayed by about an hour, so the transfer time was about two hours, but I was able to board without any problems and with plenty of time. We departed at 3:45 in the morning without any delays . It’s about an hour and 20 minutes from Ninoy Aquino International Airport to Mactan Cebu International Airport. We arrived at 5am. I slept a lot on the plane, so I’m surprisingly fine . The signs were in Japanese, so it was easy to understand even for us who are not good at English , and I was relieved. The airport was very clean, and I was grateful that there were many shops open even in the morning. Now we are heading to Oslob, which is famous for its whale sharks . To get to Oslob, take a bus from South Bus Terminal . First , let’s take you to the bus terminal by Grab. It takes about 45 minutes by Grab from Mactan Cebu International Airport to South Bus Terminal. It’s about 1,000 yen from the airport to the terminal . I don’t know how much a taxi costs, but it’s 1,000 yen, so I couldn’t get an Uber, but I was able to get a Grab. Of course, there were taxis at the airport , but they seemed to have problems with the meters , so I decided to take a safe ride. I arrived at the pass terminal at 7am, but I was hungry first , so I went to get something to eat. This time I went to Jollibee, a national fast food chain in the Philippines. You can even order using the touch panel, so it was very easy to understand. I ordered a burger set and a combo set . The combo comes with hamburger steak, chicken, spaghetti, and rice. For the burger set, I chose a cheeseburger and fries. It’s a simple set. For this amount, 350 pesos for two people is very reasonable. Apparently it tastes like spaghetti in school lunches , but what do you think? Yes, yes!! The noodles are delicious and soft, but the sauce is sweet, I don’t know, it reminds me of the meat sauce you get in school lunches, it’s delicious , the fries were thin and crunchy and delicious , they tasted similar to the fries at MOS , so let’s eat this thin hamburger, it has that thing on it, mushrooms , yeah , delicious, nice and fragrant, just plain delicious , this!? It came with rice , I had the rice set and wondered where the rice was, and it was in a ball-shaped container like this, it was dry , I guess Japanese rice is better , this is the Yummy Cheese Burger, it’s a pretty thin burger , what is it, is it cheddar cheese, very , very thin , please, it’s like that, it looks like a hamburger you buy from a vending machine , it might be similar! The chicken was a simple fried chicken , and the portions were huge! Now that we’ve filled our stomachs, we head back to the bus terminal . First, let’s buy a ticket. Tickets are bought at this counter. It was amazing how there was such a long line from early in the morning . We were able to buy our tickets. It costs 272 pesos (about 680 yen) per person , and we can go to Oslob . There are air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned buses, so we just said “Oslob air-conditioned” and it was easy to buy. After that, we just entered from here and lined up at the gate number written on it. The buses were leaving one by one, so we were able to get on without having to carry much . The inside of the bus was spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning is working well, so I think I can spend three and a half hours on the bus without any problems. Those who are going to watch the whale sharks can just keep riding to the final stop, Oslob , but our accommodation is in Granada , just before Oslob. When I showed the ticket man where my hotel is, I told him I wanted to get off there , and he agreed to let me off there. When I got on, I just raised my hand when I saw the bus and it would stop for me, so it’s nice that there isn’t a proper bus stop. If there are no seats, you just sit on the ground. This style is quite Filipino and relaxed, isn’t it? After driving for about two hours, we stopped at a rest spot. There were various toilets and shops. The toilets were clean, but they didn’t have toilet seats that you flush with water from a bucket , so it was a little difficult. I bought an iced latte here, which was cold and delicious. As we got further away from Cebu City, the roads got bumpy in many places. If you have a weak back, you should be careful. After an hour and a half bus ride from the rest area, we arrived at our hotel . They dropped us off right in front of the hotel entrance . Actually, they even let you off the bus if you tell them you want to get off here. It’s really flexible and easy to use. It’s really safe and you don’t even need to use a Grab. It’s a great place . Granada Beach and Resort. It ‘s in such a great place that it’s like there’s another hotel with the same name . It’s 500 meters from the entrance, so it was a bit of a struggle to get to the hotel. We arrived and it feels really nice. Here’s the check-in counter. There’s a nice breeze and it feels good. We arrived more than two hours before check-in, but they kept our luggage and it seems like we could play in the pool or the sea. It’s a small , relaxing place for a stay. The view is amazing. It’s really beautiful and it feels like a hidden gem of a hotel. It’s a relaxing place . This is the restaurant . I was hungry, so Let’s go in right away. The restaurant has a breezy style and is very stylish. Here is the location . The sea is right in front of you and it is really beautiful. First, we toast with San Miguel Light, a classic Philippine beer . It’s light and nice. It’s delicious. Drinking beer while looking at the view at this hidden resort hotel is just the best. I was hungry, so I ordered a hamburger . I think this hamburger is about 1,000 yen. It’s amazing. They put a lot of effort into it. It was thick and incredibly delicious. It beats Jollibee . Now that we’re full, let’s go to the private beach first . At the top of the stairs is a small but beautiful private beach. There are plenty of hammocks and beach chairs, so you’re sure to be able to relax here . If you’re interested in the sea, check this out . The clarity is really amazing . Testoku immediately rented a snorkel and went out to explore the sea . This is what the sea looked like . Even though we only swam a little , there were many corals and other things, and it felt like we were in Ryugu-jo Castle . Of course, there were many colorful tropical fish as well. There were lots of them swimming around. There were also cute pufferfish and clownfish, and just watching them made me really happy. When I swam to the back , I was surprised to see a sea turtle, which I couldn’t get on video. Swimming with them is just the best! After swimming in the sea, I relaxed in the pool. It wasn’t that big, but I enjoyed it very much . There seems to be something at the back of the pool . Let’s go there. Here, you can see the sea. They also offer spa massages from 15 minutes, and the price isn’t too expensive, so it might be a good idea to try them out. In the forest , we discovered a place that looked like ruins. Let’s go in for a bit. The inside looked like this. The crumbling ruins and plants were somehow mysterious, and it felt like we were in the world of Laputa. The very back was a cape . It was very quiet, and it might be nice to relax here and cool down your hot body while listening to the sound of the waves. Meanwhile, it seems that our room is ready, so let’s head to our room. There are only 9 rooms. We were on the first floor, number 6. Let’s go. Open the door. Wow, it’s spacious. 。 The cool room looks like this. It’s so clean. There is a small black refrigerator , which looks like it will be able to cool down any purchased items. They also change one beach towel for each person, so it’s reassuring. The hair dryer is made overseas and is something I’ve never seen before. It looks like it has amazing power. There are three bottles of water , so you won’t get thirsty. There is a kettle and coffee and tea , so you can relax in the morning . For some reason, there are two beds. The double is really big and very high . It comes with two cute cushions. Both pillows are very voluminous and springy , so you can sleep at any height you like, as is the overseas model. The futon itself is a single thin one , but it’s warm so it should be fine . The interior lights have a really cute design. There is a mirror and an object. It looks very clean and sophisticated. There are two relaxing chairs like this , so it looks like you could chat here. There is a safe next to the bed . There is a safe, I think it is a combination type. You can probably put your passport in it. This little guy welcomed me. His name is Hello I’m Jack Jack. He ‘s really cute. Please be careful and turn off the air conditioner when you’re not there , it ‘s an appeal to the environment The room next door has an incredibly tall and spacious closet, it’s just barely within reach There are even robe’s in the closet , so you can relax here after a bath There is a yoga mat for each person, what a conscious person They had a yoga mat for each person, which would make conscious people very happy Just beyond this is the toilet It is well cleaned and sparkling clean In the Philippines , you normally can’t flush toilet paper , but this one is designed to allow you to flush it Bath towels There is one thick bath towel for the bath and one fluffy hand towel The sink is also sparkling clean It’s really big, unlike the ones in Japan It looks easy to use Liquid soap is also provided. There is a very stylish mirror on top . It is made of wood and looks really nice . This is the shower room. The shower room has a simple design. Oh, it says ” hot” or “cold” in Japanese or Chinese . This is easy for Asian people to understand. There is only one overhead mirror. But this is enough . I was grateful that it even comes with shampoo, conditioner and body soap. The balcony has a forest view. It is very quiet and you can hear the birds all the time. You can hang your swimsuit out to dry, so you can enjoy the sea and the pool to your heart’s content. After resting for a while, I tried to head towards Oslob by Grab , but there are no taxis or Grab in this area , so the only means of transportation are buses and tuk-tuks. I had no choice but to ask the hostel to call a tuk-tuk for me , which cost 500 pesos to Oslob . It was a little expensive, but I decided to enjoy it as an activity . The slopes were like a roller coaster, which was fun in its own way. It took about 30 minutes to get to Oslob , and I thought it would be a quick journey with beautiful scenery , but the road was extremely rough. It was really amazing ! There are a lot of bumpy roads , so if you get car sick, be careful! If you go towards Oslob, there are restaurants and cafes, so please check them out! I will introduce this restaurant next time ! When I woke up in the morning, it was a beautiful sunny day. It looks like it will be a great day! I was hungry, so let’s head to breakfast! This hotel offers free breakfast with many varieties, so you won’t get bored even if you stay for several nights. I had a fruit cereal bowl. It was healthy and had a lot of fruit . And here is the breakfast we ordered: breakfast set, bacon , frankfurter , egg , and paan . The cereal was crunchy, with lots of fruit and yogurt, and was gentle on the stomach and delicious. The breakfast set we ordered included a choice of eggs , as well as poached eggs and omelets . It had everything you wanted to eat in the morning, and it was the best breakfast ever! Thank you for the meal! Each dish was just as delicious as a five-star breakfast. This place is really good value for money. The view is great and it’s the best . Now that we’ve had our fill , let’s stay in the hotel and enjoy relaxing at the beach and pool . Just lying on the beach and watching the sky, snorkeling in the beautiful sea , and listening to the sound of the waves was very soothing. When I got hungry, I enjoyed fresh juice and pizza at the restaurant. The price wasn’t too high , so I was happy to be able to eat casually. After the meal, I sunbathed on the beach and swam in the pool , which was extremely soothing . This hotel is quiet and relaxing, and it’s really the best, but there was one drawback . As it is an environmentally friendly hotel, the hot water seems to be heated by solar power. As a result, there was almost no hot water in the shower . The water pressure in the shower was weak, which was a shame. Other than that, the service, location, and food were all excellent . Now that it’s dark and the night view is in sight, it’s time to have dinner . First, a toast with beer . I ordered a traditional Philippine beef dish and garlic rice. Both were filling and looked delicious. This dish in particular was very delicious. The meat was tender and falling apart. The seasoning was similar to stew and went really well with rice . Delicious ! So good! I’ve been waiting for this. Thank you for the meal . Both were delicious and I ate them all up. Finally, I’d like to announce the price of Granada Beach Resort . The price for two nights with breakfast for two people is… an amazing 4,690 yen per person per night! I’m surprised that you can enjoy an adult beach resort with breakfast for this price. It was a wonderful place, so if you come to the Philippines, please consider it as one of your options . This time, I introduced my trip to the Philippines. I hope it will be helpful to you. See you again next time. We will introduce whale shark watching in Oslob. Please look forward to it.
