Fire at Ulaman Eco Luxury Resort Bali, Indonesia | 16 Villas Destroyed😱 (4K Hotel Tour & Vlog)

On August 15, 2025, a fire broke out at Ulaman Eco Luxury Resort in Bali, Indonesia. Ulaman Resort is located in Tabanan, Bali. I stayed there the day before the fire. Let’s take a look at what Ulaman Resort looked like before the fire. This is the entrance and lobby. Check-in is in this lobby. Guests can choose between alcoholic or non-alcoholic welcome drinks. I received a 10% discount coupon for the shop. Further back is the reception. Ulaman opened in 2020 and has won numerous awards. Morning yoga and sound healing activities are held daily. Ulaman is committed to eco-living and sustainability. The resort’s building materials and architecture are particularly distinctive. Models of the resort’s buildings and villas are on display in the lobby. The fire that broke out the next day resulted in the complete destruction of 16 villas. Woods such as bamboo and teak are primarily used in the construction. Other materials used include rattan and recycled wood. We’ll take a look at the impressively designed villas later. Other areas, such as the spa, feature recycled glass floors. The curved walls at ground level are made of rammed earth, a mixture of earth, sand, lime and gravel. Let’s go further in from the lobby. The infinity pool is located next to the main restaurant, E.A.R.T.H. The main restaurant and bar. The main restaurant’s outdoor seating and sunbeds. Further along is the main restaurant’s indoor seating. The restaurant serves Asian, Balinese, and Western cuisine throughout the day. The restaurant continues further back. The bamboo building and lush greenery create a relaxing atmosphere. Guests can enjoy afternoon tea or a romantic dinner at a table in front of the waterfall. This is also the restaurant building. Private dinner is available here. To today’s room. The architecture is very unique. In recent years, this resort has been gaining attention as a photogenic location. It’s very photogenic, so it’s especially popular with Instagrammers. We can paddle these pedal boats on this artificial pond. There is a temple. Although this is not Ubud, this resort was designed to have a Ubud-like atmosphere. Tonight we will be staying in a room called the “Avatar Treehouse,” which we can see above. It’s located 9 meters above ground. To get to the room, we pass through this impressive bamboo tunnel. Below is another type of room, the “Floating Lake.” To reach the upper room, we walk up a wooden spiral staircase. It’s surprisingly long. The view from the room’s terrace. The terrace is furnished with a table and hanging chairs. The price per night is 9,832,500 IDR (605 USD). Let’s take a look inside the room. It has high ceilings. The room is 64 square meters (689 square feet). It includes a desk, sofa, and bed. It also has a wardrobe and storage shelves. King-size bed. The pillows and mattresses are of average firmness. The mattress is kept in good condition. There’s a universal power outlet and USB ports by the bedside. A welcome gift bag. Inside the bag is a folding fan with the word ULAMAN written on it. And there’s fabric in it. A ceiling fan remote control. An air conditioner remote control. The curtains can be opened and closed using this remote control. A small mosquito repellent. Since this is a resort surrounded by nature, there are quite a few mosquitoes. A bedside lamp. Surrounded by thin wood. A welcome message on the table. We can communicate with staff via WhatsApp. A large sofa. Extremely comfortable. A Samsung smart TV and a desk. A hotel-original notepad. A hotel-original ballpoint pen. A Bluetooth speaker from the American brand House of Marley. Hotel information. A stool. A woven wooden trash can. Wooden decorations. Bamboo is also used throughout the room. Is this a talisman? Mineral water is served in a bottle. A wooden ice bucket. Teacups made from environmentally friendly materials. These alcoholic drinks are available in the minibar for an additional fee. TWG Tea from Singapore. Wooden water bottles. Not available for takeout, but available for purchase in the shop. An electric kettle and a coffee machine. Of course, these aren’t made of wood. A safety deposit box. In the refrigerator… Water, sparkling water, Pocari Sweat, orange juice. Alcoholic drinks available for an additional fee. Snacks. Hotel-original chocolates. European-style chocolates. Behind the door is the bathroom. A wooden laundry basket. In the wardrobe… Hotel-original bathrobes. A hotel-original bag. This bag cannot be taken home; it can be purchased at the shop. The dresser can store various items. Some kind of cover. Storage space. Indoor slippers made from eco-friendly materials. The potted plants add a nice touch. A 360-degree rotating door. The sink and toilet. This is semi-outdoor, but there is glass in the ceiling. There are two mirrors, but only one sink. Liquid soap and body lotion are in original bottles. Amenities. Open them at night. Cups, coasters. A hair dryer. Japanese brand Takeda? A stone washbasin. A Japanese brand Toto toilet. No features like a washlet. It is well cleaned. Some kind of decoration. The toilet paper holder is unique. A shower booth. There’s no door. There’s a hand shower and a rain shower. Shampoo and shower gel are in their original containers. The shower is by the Japanese brand TOTO. There’s a sign requesting a linen change. It was a unique room. Incidentally, this room survived the fire and remains intact. The resort is surrounded by rice paddies, swaying palm trees, and lush greenery. Let’s take a look at the resort’s facilities. The spa is located near the main restaurant. It’s open from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. Spa shop. Balinese skin care products and more. Relaxation lounge. We can relax while listening to the sound of the river. This is the cold bath. Infused water and towels are provided. This is the hot tub. We can relax on the hanging net at the back. The sound of the flowing river is soothing. Incidentally, a fire broke out in a villa across the river the next day. The spa was unaffected by the fire. There’s a 60-80 degree far-infrared sauna. A steam sauna. There are treatment rooms at the back. Single and double treatment rooms are available. Moving on to another area. The resort has two swimming pools. The waterfall pool is located at the main restaurant. There’s a gym nearby. It’s open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. Water and towels are provided in the center. The gym is small. It’s equipped with three cardio machines, a training machine, and dumbbells. It’s likely not enough for those looking for serious exercise and training. There’s also an outdoor tennis court for sports. Moving on to another area. E.A.R.T.H. Lounge and pool are located at the back. This area sustained some fire damage, but appears to still be standing. The cliff-edge walls are adorned with realistic 3D carvings. There are several facilities around the E.A.R.T.H. Lounge. This is the Treehouse Healing Center. It’s a place for light meditation and other activities. There’s a realistic 3D Buddha carving, apparently crafted by a stone carver from Bali. Over there is a cooking class table. Apparently, we can make Indonesian dishes during the cooking class. Let’s go down the stairs. This table is used for afternoon tea and romantic dinner experiences. There’s a waterfall right in front of it. It’s a lovely spot, but I noticed a strange sewage smell at times. The E.A.R.T.H. Lounge has another infinity pool. There’s some wooden art. We can enjoy a floating breakfast in the infinity pool. The E.A.R.T.H Lounge also has a bar. There’s an impressive staircase here. Because it’s made of wood, it creaks when we walk up it. It’s an amazing piece of architecture. From here, we can see the E.A.R.T.H. restaurant and pool. Up to this point, we’re in what Ulaman calls Phase 2 (opened in October 2022). Beyond this point, we’ll be in what Ulaman calls Phase 3 (due for completion by the end of 2025). This Phase 3 area was almost completely destroyed in the fire. There’s also a yoga studio called MANDALA SHALA here, which apparently survived the fire. Surrounded by nature, this space is perfect for small groups and private sessions. Back to the story, Ulaman has been building a new area called Phase 3. Phase 3 was scheduled to include 17 villas, a conference room, yoga studios, and more. Completion of Phase 3 was expected by the end of 2025, and it was almost there. This is the conference room. It appears that this conference room survived the fire. This is the area that was destroyed. Here is the yoga studio located near the cliff. It’s larger than the one we saw earlier. Morning yoga sessions were held there from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Unfortunately, this yoga studio was completely destroyed in the fire. Perched high on the cliff, the studio offers a panoramic view of the lush jungle surrounding it. I wonder what happened to these Buddha statues in the fire. On to the evening scene. I had booked a romantic dinner experience that day. It’s dinner over there. The table is beautifully decorated. Let’s go to our table. It’s limited to one per group, so it’s best to make a reservation early. It’s now past 6:00 PM, just before dark. The waterfall we saw during the day is apparently a natural waterfall. It’s a private space surrounded by trees, rocks, and a river. The atmosphere is wonderful. Dinner is a four-course meal. A personalized menu inspired by cuisines from around the world. I’m excited to see what the food will be like. First, a welcome cocktail. The first dish is a pumpkin salad. It was a refreshing tasting salad. Drunken Monkey Tuak Palm white wine from Bali. The second dish is cauliflower soup. The soup was just the right temperature. The third dish is chicken as the main dish. Served with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The fourth dish, dessert, is pandan cake with vanilla ice cream. It’s a strange color, but the cake tastes better than it looks. Dinner cost 4,235,000 IDR (259 USD) for two people. The location was nice, but the portion size seemed small for the price. We’re now in front of the resort entrance. There’s a shop across from the lobby. We can purchase the bags and water bottles that were in the room at this shop. Bali is often associated with heavy traffic, but the area around this resort is quiet. This is in the Tabanan area, close to the popular tourist spot, Tanah Lot Temple. Let’s take a look at the resort at night. The lobby and reception have a calming atmosphere. The sounds of nature are very soothing. E.A.R.T.H. Restaurant and pool at night. The pool is beautiful at night. This is the only restaurant for dinner, except for romantic dinners. The bar also has a nice atmosphere. We can experience romantic dinners within the building. This would also be a good place for a romantic dinner. The spa at night was surprisingly beautiful, so let’s take a look. The spa reception. This is an award-winning spa. The floor is beautifully lit. The spa is open until 9 pm, so the cold and hot tubs are available even at night. E.A.R.T.H Lounge at night. Beautiful architecture. Artistic. Fortunately, this area did not burn down in the fire. The 3D Buddha sculpture is surreal. The pond area where the Avatar Treehouse where we stayed is located. The architecture of this Avatar Treehouse is also beautiful. This would be a great place for Instagrammers and YouTubers. Even if you’re not here to take photos, it’s a great place to experience nature. Let’s head back to our room. The staircase is beautiful. The room is 9 meters high, so it takes about a minute to climb the stairs. It’s surprisingly high, so it’s dangerous if we fall. Back in the room, let’s check if the turndown service had been performed. The turndown service was performed, and the bed was made. There were no slippers or water by the bedside. I’ll put in my own water. The bathroom at night. The lighting was just right. Let’s check the amenities. Many of them are made of wood, reflecting environmental considerations. The bathroom is not enclosed; there is a gap here, making it semi-outdoor. Although there is a window in the ceiling, it is semi-outdoor, so mosquitoes and other insects can get in. Let’s check the water pressure in the shower. This isn’t limited to this resort, but I feel like showers in Bali have weak water pressure. I also found the hair dryer difficult to use. There’s a desk here, which is convenient for those who want to use their computers. The Wi-Fi speed was surprisingly normal and not slow at all. To the next morning. The bed was quite comfortable. Good morning. A fire will occur on August 15, 2025. In the morning, I never thought a fire would occur. We can choose to have breakfast in the room, at the E.A.R.T.H. restaurant, or at the E.A.R.T.H. lounge. I will have breakfast in the E.A.R.T.H. Lounge. Breakfast is served from 7:00 to 11:00 am. Beverages. Fresh juice, tea, and coffee. Foods. All menu items are clearly illustrated with photos. Mexican breakfast menu. Indian breakfast menu. Egg dish menu. It looks delicious. Pancakes. Indonesian dishes like nasi goreng and mie goreng. I felt the breakfast menu options were limited. TWG peppermint. Dragon fruit juice. A selection of toast and pastries. I still wanted Indonesian food. We ordered mie goreng and nasi goreng. The nasi goreng looked delicious. It was delicious. We also ordered chicken pakora. The resort was undergoing expansion work for Phase 3 (scheduled for completion at the end of 2025). After breakfast, I heard the sounds of expansion work. At around 10:10 am, something strange happened at the villa across the river. At this point, I noticed something was wrong, but didn’t worry too much about it. When I returned to my room, it had already been cleaned. Since I had booked a two-night stay, I planned to stay there that night. Let’s take a look at the list of activities. Yoga activities. Nature exploration activities. E-bike activities. Activities to visit nearby villages. Around 10:15 am, I noticed a villa across the river on fire. More black smoke was rising, and the fire was getting stronger. At this point, I realized there was a fire, and I quickly packed up my belongings from my room. No fire alarms had gone off when the fire started. The fire spread from one villa to the next, and the fire grew larger and larger. When the guests noticed the fire, they each grabbed their belongings and evacuated the resort. Not really understanding what was going on, we evacuated the resort. Smoke was rising from another location, but what was that? The fire had spread widely, and things were getting serious. Around 10:50 am, the local police arrived. Around 10:55 am, the fire engine arrived. The fire engine arrived, and the fire had subsided a bit, so I went to check on the inside of the resort. All resort staff were working to put out the fire. Locals had also gathered to watch the fire. The fire had reached the E.A.R.T.H. Lounge, where we had breakfast. Thanks to their diligent firefighting efforts, the EARTH Lounge seemed to have been completely contained. The fire had reached the waterfall where we had enjoyed a romantic dinner the night before. The fire was stubborn and difficult to put out. I’m sure all the guests were worried. The fire hadn’t reached the Avatar Treehouse where we were staying, and they were safe. It apparently took several hours for the fire to be completely extinguished. We had planned to stay two nights, but we were unable to stay that night and decided to move to another hotel. I arranged for a Grab taxi and booked my next hotel. Ulaman staff member drove us in a buggy to a Grab taxi stop. Because the fire was so noticeable, locals were gathering. I later learned from the news that the fire destroyed 16 villas and a yoga studio in Phase 3. Phase 3 is a new area scheduled for completion at the end of 2025; Phases 1 and 2 were undamaged. After the fire, I took a Grab taxi to another destination. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it is believed to have occurred during the resort’s Phase 3 expansion construction. There were no guests staying in the villas affected by the fire, and no casualties were reported. The fire’s material damage is estimated at 40 billion IDR. Thanks to the quick response, Ulaman Resort managed to preserve its main facilities. Ulaman Resort has now resumed normal business hours. However, if the fire had been extinguished even a little later, the fire could have been severe enough to destroy the main facilities. Since I had a flight scheduled for the next morning, I booked a hotel near the airport. We stayed at a popular hotel called The Anvaya Beach Resort Bali. Due to a change in plans, I missed the popular tourist spot of Tanah Lot Temple. This incident made me realize that while resorts made from natural materials like bamboo are unique, they could be dangerous in the event of a fire. Also, this time, my room was 9 meters above ground, so evacuation took time and was difficult. Chronologically speaking, I had been to other resorts before Ulaman. Bulgari Resort Bali. The Edge Bali. Cliffside infinity pool. Garuda Indonesia first class. Flying from Denpasar (Bali) to Tokyo. Videos will be released sequentially. Thank you for watching.

  2. Fortunately, you found the problem of fire early, and the safety handling mechanism of the holiday village is not perfect. In such a risk, customers hope to complete the environment in the future.

  10. Muchas gracias por compartir…me alegra que las personas no fueran afectadas por el incendio , y gracias al río que tenían cerca se pudo apagar pronto y reanudar las actividades 🙏🙏🙏😍😍😍

  11. The resort is beautiful, but it must be said that the architecture is exotic from a European perspective.

It's a bit strange that the drinks in the fridge are charged, considering the price of the stay. I'll tell you this secretly: I also have drinks in the fridge at home, and they're all free. Even the alcoholic ones😍😍

Of course, when I bought them in the store, they weren't free😒😒

  12. Thank God that nobody was hurt and you're ok!!!!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💐💐💐💐💐🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
