【富士山ドライブ】ぶらり旅 第523回「山梨県:富士五湖 vol.2 鳴沢氷穴,富岳風穴」-アクセス,駐車場,青木ヶ原樹海,避暑地,涼しい-(2025.07)

ふらっと出かけた場所を紹介しようと思います。
2025年7月に山梨県にある「富士五湖」に行きました。

富士五湖とその周辺の観光スポットを巡ります。
まずvol.2は鳴沢氷穴～富岳風穴です。

・富士五湖

富士山の北の麓にある五つの湖を総称して「富士五湖(ふじごこ)」と呼びます。
その五つは、西から順に本栖湖(もとすこ)、精進湖(しょうじこ)、西湖(さいこ)、河口湖(かわぐちこ)、山中湖(やまなかこ)で、富士箱根伊豆国立公園に含まれ、それぞれが世界遺産の構成資産にもなっている。
かつて富士山の周囲にはいくつか大きな湖があり、それが当時の富士山の噴火に伴う溶岩流によって分断されたり、せき止められるなどの過程を経て現在の富士五湖が形成されたと考えられています。

・鳴沢氷穴

自然の起伏に富んだ竪穴型洞窟。
鳴沢氷穴は青木ヶ原樹海の東の入口に位置し、年間を通して観光客がたえず富士五湖観光のひとつに数えられています。
今から1150年以上前の貞観6年(864)富士山の側火山長尾山の噴火の際、古い寄生火山の間を灼熱に焼けた溶岩流(青木ヶ原丸尾)が流れ下ってできたのが、この二つのトンネル式になった洞窟です。
昭和4年に文部省の天然記念物の指定を受けてから世界に紹介され、地質学上、貴重な存在となっています。
ちなみに 鳴沢村の樹型溶岩群はスパイラクルの数では世界有数といわれています。

料金：大人350円、小人（小学生以下）200円
営業時間：9:00～17:00(天候・洞内状況により変更あり)
富岳風穴とセット券　大人600円、小人300円

・森の駅「風穴」

山梨、静岡の定番の銘菓やオリジナル商品や甲州ワイン、山梨のお酒、地酒・焼酎などお土産が人気です。
ジャンパー、ポケットコートなどのハイキンググッズもあります。
フードコーナーではB級グルメで有名な「富士宮やきそば」や「吉田のうどん」など、おすすめのメニューがあります。
富岳風穴でしか味わえない「とうもろこしパフェ」「とうもろこしソフトクリーム」はコーンスープ風味でやさしい甘さで、とても人気です。

営業時間：9:00～16:30(天候・洞内状況により変更あり)

・富岳風穴

なだらかな横穴を周遊できる、歴史的にも価値のある洞窟。
中に入ると夏でもひんやりと涼しく、平均気温は3度。
昭和初期までは、蚕の卵の貯蔵に使われていたという天然の冷蔵庫！国の天然記念物にも指定されています。
総延長201m、高さは8.7mにおよぶ横穴で、内部は不思議と音が反響しません。これは壁の玄武岩質が音を吸収する性質をもっているためです。
所要15分の見学コースでは、夏でも溶けない氷柱や、溶岩棚、縄状溶岩などが見られます。

I’d like to introduce some places I visited on a whim.
In July 2025, I went to the Fuji Five Lakes in Yamanashi Prefecture.

I’ll be touring the Fuji Five Lakes and the surrounding tourist spots.
First, Vol. 2 is Narusawa Ice Cave to Fugaku Wind Cave.

・Fuji Five Lakes

The five lakes at the northern foot of Mount Fuji are collectively known as the “Fuji Five Lakes.”
From west to west, they are Lake Motosuko, Lake Shojiko, Lake Saiko, Lake Kawaguchiko, and Lake Yamanakako. They are part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park and each is a World Heritage Site.

It is believed that there were once several large lakes surrounding Mount Fuji, which were divided and dammed by lava flows from Mount Fuji’s eruptions, forming the current Fuji Five Lakes.

・Narusawa Ice Cave

A vertical cave with a rich natural undulation.
Narusawa Ice Cave is located at the eastern entrance to the Aokigahara Jukai Forest, and is a popular tourist destination throughout the year, making it one of the Fuji Five Lakes tourist attractions.
Over 1,150 years ago, in 864, during the Jogan 6th year, Mount Nagao, a lateral volcano of Mount Fuji, the scorching hot lava flow (Aokigahara Maruo) flowed down between old parasitic volcanoes, creating these two tunnel-like caves.
Designated a Natural Monument by the Ministry of Education in 1929, it has been introduced to the world and is a valuable geological find.
Incidentally, the tree-shaped lava formations in Narusawa Village are said to be among the world’s largest in terms of the number of spiracle formations.

Price: 350 for adults, 200 for children (elementary school age and younger)
Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (subject to change depending on weather and cave conditions)
Set ticket for Fujigaku Wind Cave: 600 for adults, 300 for children

・Forest Station “Wind Cave”

Popular souvenirs include Yamanashi and Shizuoka’s classic sweets, original products, Koshu wine, Yamanashi sake, local sake, and shochu.
Hiking gear like jackets and pocket coats are also available.
The food corner offers recommended dishes like the famous B-grade gourmet “Fujinomiya Yakisoba” and “Yoshida Udon.”
The “Corn Parfait” and “Corn Soft Serve,” both exclusive to Fujigaku Wind Cave, are incredibly popular, with their mildly sweet corn soup flavor.

Fugaku Wind Cave

This historically significant cave allows visitors to explore its gently sloping tunnels.
Inside, the air is cool, even in summer, with an average temperature of 3°C.
It’s a natural refrigerator, used to store silkworm eggs until the early Showa period! It’s also designated a National Natural Monument.
Measuring 201 meters in length and 8.7 meters in height, the tunnel’s interior miraculously lacks echoes. This is due to the sound-absorbing properties of the basalt walls.
The 15-minute tour includes icicles that don’t melt even in summer, lava shelves, and rope-like lava formations.
