Step inside Military Hospital Cave on Cat Ba Island, Vietnam — a secret underground hideout used during the Vietnam War. Built deep within the limestone mountains, this hidden hospital and bunker served as a safe refuge for soldiers, complete with operating rooms, living quarters, and secret passageways.
The cave was used as a safe hospital and hideout during the Vietnam War (1963–1975), hidden from enemy aircraft and bombardments. It has 3 levels built inside the cave, including operating theaters, patient wards, meeting rooms, and even a cinema for soldiers. The construction was supported by Chinese allies, who helped design and fortify the cave into a functional hospital-bunker. The hospital could accommodate up to 200 people at a time, including patients, doctors, and soldiers. The limestone mountain provided natural protection, making it invisible from above and nearly indestructible during bombings.
Although no medical equipment remains, the chambers and wartime atmosphere are preserved, offering a glimpse into history.
