Ah, the barriers are lowering There’s a train going by, there We’re going to walk a little bit, there, along the railway track to see Oh, there’s a monkey walking on the wire, there, look Do you see it? It’s great Excellent Oh, there’s a beautiful view over there, to the side Wait, I’ll show you… Look It’s superb Well, I saw on my map that there was another level crossing a little further on So, I suggest we go there and then we go back through the city It’s really beautiful The tracks that go through the tea plantations It’s fantastic! Ah there, the level crossing, I can see it there We’re getting there There, the level crossing is there We’re going through the fields there It’s magnificent It’s really beautiful, eh?! Well, listen, I’m discovering this walk I came here by chance I didn’t think we’d cross tea plantations It’s great Oh there, look at that tree, there It’s magnificent Oh there, look at the view, there It’s fantastic I don’t know how many times, I’ve said it since a while ago, but then… It’s really very beautiful We’re in the heart of the mountains and obviously the views are magnificent from here It’s fantastic There you go! And there, we arrive at the first level crossing The loop is complete [The next morning…] So, it’s morning, the children go to school and we’re going to go into the mountains We’re going to go to a belvedere where there’s a beautiful viewpoint, apparently So, we’re going to see… Come on, let’s go It’s not Hollywood, it’s “Sherwood” That must be the name of the tea plantations This road is quiet at this time of day, it’s cool Look, there’s a beautiful view of the city, there It’s really right in the mountains It’s really cool in the morning, already, there are few people and we have a beautiful, rather warm light with a rather low sun It’s really very pleasant Well, of course, you have to get up early, that’s the problem Look already there, this view with all these mountains, there, in shades of blue It’s splendid! So, my GPS tells me it’s that way Luckily I have a GPS. Ah! And there, we arrive at a given moment where there is no more budget There It is beaten earth Ah well, it’s cool to walk in the tea plantations, there It’s better than the main road There are some everywhere, look It’s super beautiful It’s great So happy Well, we’ll arrive in a little while We’re going to discover this viewpoint So, my GPS tells me that it’s the little path that is there You have to know It’s beautiful there, look At the foot of the tree, there, there’s a kind of fork with ribbons and a little thing to make a fire Maybe it’s a sacred tree, I don’t know?! Well… Come on, let’s continue… I hope it’s not a sign of bad omen There I think we’re getting there, there We’re arriving at the very top With this superb tree There! We’re at the highest point And so, this view? Look It’s fantastic It’s crazy Oh, I’m moved! It’s so beautiful So actually, it’s called “Eagle Rock” Because , apparently, from here, you can observe the eagles So, listen, I don’t see any but… that’s what they say It’s fantastic [On the way back…] Look there, there are lots of pickers They’re all lined up We’re going to go see… Look “Hello” “Hello” “How are you?” “Good” “Where are you from?” “France” It’s incredible, huh?! This work, there They’re taking all the young shoots, you see?! It’s superb Well, I gave them a little note She’s happy Well, well, it’s incredible Fantastic! Okay, come on “Bye bye” (goodbye) “Bye bye” (goodbye) [The tea pickers’ work is very hard They are paid by the kilo I read that they have to pick at least 16 kilos per day under the supervision of the foremen. And it is said that they are mostly abused… There is even talk of slavery] [Another morning…] So, I came here because at my hotel, they told me it was market day So, we’re going to discover We’re going to see… Oh yeah, look Ah, it’s great! Oh my, it’s superb There you go! It’s great So there, there’s the market, you see? Dans ce vlog, nous allons découvrir Haputale au Sri Lanka
Nous allons rapidement visiter la ville, car elle est trés petite
Nous allons découvrir son marché et monter en haut du sommet du Rocher aux Aigles (Eagle Rock)
★ Discover with me the city of Haputale and the Eagle Rock in Sri Lanka

Haputale, que l’on surnomme la “Reine des montagnes“, est une petite ville nichée à 1300 mètre d’altitude, en plein coeur de collines verdoyantes et de plantations de thé
Ici le thé est roi puisque, figure toi que c’est ici même que vivait Sir Thomas Lipton, le fondateur du célèbre thé Lipton
Elle est située dans la province d’Uva et es 5000 habitants sont majoritairement Tamouls
A noter qu’ici il y a moins de touristes qu’à Ella qui est juste à coté

LA VILLE : 
La ville est assez petite avec 2 grosses rues principales en croix avec un grand passage à niveau à leur intersection 
Tout d’abord il y a la rue Railway Station Road qui passe devant la gare et mène à la station de bus (Haputale Bus Station). 
Et il y a la rue Beragala – Hali Ela Road (qui, dans la ville, prend le nom de Main Street) c’est un axe routier reliant plusieurs villes 

LE MARCHÉ :
(Haputale market)
Il est ouvert tous les jours entre 8h et 18h
Mais c’est le dimanche (jusqu’à 15h) qu’il est à son apogée, car les 2 halles sont entièrement remplies de vendeurs dans une superbe ambiance 
D’ailleurs, même si tu y vas en semaine, je te recommande d’y faire un tour car sur le côté gauche il y a un superbe panorama sur les montagnes

LE ROCHER AUX AIGLES / EAGLE ROCK :
Ce belvédère se trouve à 1430 mètres d’altitude et doit son nom à l’aigle du Ceylan (ancien nom de l’île) que l’on peut, apparement, observer d’ici.
Il se trouve plus exactement dans le village voisin qui est Thotulagala (ou Thotalagala)
Il est proche de la ville (11 minutes en voiture ou 1 heure à pied) et la balade est très facile
Je te recommande de partir à 6h pour profiter durant l’heure de marche des superbes vues dans tous les sens avec les couleurs chaude du lever de soleil. 
La majorité du trajet se fait sur la petite route des voitures (très étroite et peu fréquentée) qui est goudronnée et en montée très douche
Tu traverseras de nombreuses plantations de thé comme par exemple la plantation Sherwood ou la plantation Kelburne
Avec des superbes vues, notamment une sur la ville d’Haputale dans sa totalité 
Puis, moins de 15 minutes avant d’arriver, tu vas devoir prendre un chemin plus accidenté en terre battue qui passe à travers les plantations 
Une fois que tu seras face à un superbe et très grand arbre se sera à droite 
Arrivé à la fin de la route (il y a un bloc de pierre et le ravin derrière) il te faudra finir les 5 dernières minutes de marche dans la forêt sur un sentier pas facile à trouver 
Un conseil : prends toujours un chemin qui monte
Une fois en haut il y a une mini terrasse naturelle avec un unique arbre et une vue spectaculaire !
Je te recommande cette balade plutôt facile avec un trajet tout aussi magnifique que le sommet
