Vol.99 [MULTI SUB/4K]

Good morning! This is E-Ma. It’s the morning of the second day. This is the first part of Day 2 of our 1 night and 2 day trip to Chichibu and Nagatoro. On the second day, we will leave Chichibu City and go sightseeing in Nagatoro. We checked out of the hotel and headed north on Route 140. The weather looks better than yesterday and it looks like it’s going to be hot (^_^;). I would like to do a lot of sightseeing while staying hydrated (*’▽’). Turn right on Prefectural Route 203 and head towards Nagatoro Station. There is a station on the left, but we plan to walk around this area later. Cross the railroad crossing and arrive at your first destination. [Nagatoro line down]. After purchasing a ticket, head to the boarding area. The boarding fee is 2,000 yen for adults and 1,000 yen for children. On the way to the platform, I encountered a cat (´ー`). Is it a child from this family because it’s wearing a collar? Then we will head to the boarding area. There are two courses down the line, A and B, but on this day we only took the B course. Course B runs from Iwadatami pier, which is a 3-minute walk from here, to Takasago Bridge, which is 3km downstream. On your way back, take the free bus back to the ticket office. There are many swallows flying around, as it seems to be the time for them to raise their children. In the nest, many chicks had their mouths open (´ー`). We have arrived at the riverbed of Arakawa. [Iwadatami]. A scenic spot with uplifted crystalline schist. It is said that it came to be called “Iwadatami” because it looks like tatami mats are spread all over the place. Crystalline schist is a rock that flakes easily like pie crust. It is said that it has been eroded by the flow of the Arakawa River over a long period of time, resulting in this shape. It was time to board the ship. It’s my first time going down the line, so I’m looking forward to it (*’▽’). Board the boat one by one and put on the life jackets provided. Then let’s go! Please enjoy it as if you are riding along with me (´ー`). The boatman in the front steers the boat, and the boatman in the back provides support while talking. It’s amazing that it’s steered by a single stick like a bamboo pole (゚Д゚). From here it seems like we will enter a place where the current is fast (^▽^;). Since there is a lot of water spray, I use vinyl to avoid it while taking pictures (*´艸`). It was faster than I expected and it was funヾ(≧▽≦)ノ. It’s a little calmer zone from here. Continue on while enjoying the scenery. The flow was getting faster again. I laughed too hard (^▽^;). A big rock is approaching (;”∀”). Pretty close (;・∀・). camel rock. Just barely more than before (;・∀・). The goal is approaching. frog rock. We have arrived. The total length was 3km, and the ride took about 20 minutes. It was a line descent where you could enjoy the scenery and get a bit of a thrill. It was a lot of fun (*’▽’). Then, let’s head to the next sightseeing spot. Now that we’ve played in the river, let’s go to the mountains (*’▽’). As I continued along Prefectural Route 203, I came across a white large torii gate. From here, you will be on the approach to Hodosan Shrine. If you keep going straight, you will see a shrine. I decided to go to the top of the mountain first. We have arrived at the parking lot. Walk to the ropeway platform. It was only a 3 minute walk from the parking lot, but it was so hot that I was sweating (^_^;). [Hodosan Ropeway Hodosanroku Station]. Fares for adults: 700 yen one way, 1200 yen round trip; children: 350 yen one way, 600 yen round trip. I arrived in time for the 10:30 departure (´ー`). I’m going to ride the Bambi train. It started moving. It’s a walk in the air for about 5 minutes (´ー`). I passed by Monkey. We have arrived at Sancho Station. First, a commemorative photo (´ー`). “The Bell of OASIS”. If there is a bell, I can’t help but ring it (^▽^;). Then I will walk towards the top of the mountain. It’s only been about a minute since I started walking. I found the “Mountain Summit Rest House” and decided to take a break (^▽^;). Choose from shaved ice soft drinks for 500 yen. I made it with condensed milk strawberry soft serve ice cream and lemon shaved ice (´ー`). Eating something cold made me feel better, so I decided to climb the slope despite the sunlight (‘ω’)ノ. Hodozan has “Roubaien”, “Plum Hyakkaen”, and “Azalea Garden”. You can enjoy flowering trees from winter to spring. The plums are bearing fruit (゚Д゚). It feels good to walk on a road like this (´ー`). This is the summit of Hodosan. Altitude: 497.1m. You can get here in 6 minutes on foot from Ropeway Sancho Station (*’▽’). Although there were a lot of clouds, the view of the Chichibu cityscape and the Chichibu Mountain Range was nice (´ー`). A little further down from the summit was the Okumiya of Hodosan Shrine. I should have visited Hodosan Shrine first, which was on the way to the ropeway station (^▽^;). The sunlight filtering through the trees is dazzling (´ー`). [Hodozan Shrine Okumiya]. This guardian dog is a mountain dog that saved Yamato Takeru no Mikoto and is called Inu-sama. Then I’ll come visit you. On the way back, I decided to go down the front stairs. When I was walking leisurely… I panicked at the sudden snake (;”∀”). “Hodosan Small Animal Park.” I didn’t go inside the park, but decided to go to the entrance. It’s here. Even though it’s a small animal park, there’s a bear at the entrance (´・ω・). After taking a break on the bench, I climbed back up the way I came and returned to the ropeway platform. Ah! I forgot the departure time of the ropeway (;・∀・). I dashed uphill so I made it in time (^▽^;). 11:58. I was leaving at 12:00, so it was a last minute flight. I’m glad I made it in time because if I missed it, I’d have to wait 30 minutes (´ー`). On the way back, I took the “Banbi” train. Hodosan has a lot to see. Flower season and autumn leaves season are great, but walking through fresh greenery is also a great way to refresh yourself! Next time is the second part of the 2-day, 1-night trip to Chichibu and Nagatoro. I hope this video is of some help to you. If you like it, please click the good button and subscribe to the channel!
