【軽井沢vlog】SANU 2nd Homeで自然に癒される週末 | サウナ・焚き火・料理を楽しむ2日間

Hello, I’m ai. Escaping the scorching Tokyo heat,
I’m spending a relaxing weekend in cool Karuizawa! Taking the bullet train to Karuizawa. Departing around 9:30 AM~ Today I’m staying at SANU 2nd, a shared villa.
We’ll cook together and enjoy good food and nature! Arrived in Karuizawa in just an hour and a half! By car it would take 4 hours with traffic,
but the bullet train is so fast and convenient… Let’s enjoy Karuizawa~! First, heading to “Karuizawa Common Grounds”
near Naka-Karuizawa Station – a stylish shopping area. My target: this soba with amazing tempura chrysanthemum leaves! My friend ordered the three-variety platter.
This looks delicious too…! When I think of Karuizawa, soba comes to mind. Since I’m here, I wanted good soba – so I found this place! Both the soba and chrysanthemum tempura were delicious~ No wonder there’s always a long line here! 🤔 Got some wine at the same Common Grounds complex. This place has cafes, bookstores, restaurants and more -perfect for a relaxing time. Found the NychairX chair I’ve been curious about…! I want to test how it feels, but it’s too hot in the sun lol Time to retreat… The backrest goes up to your head, and it’s so light -the ultimate relaxation chair…! I’d love to get one someday~ Off to the local market for dinner ingredients!
Karuizawa vegetables are so good -seeing this variety makes me excited. Got lots of local vegetables and bread~! ✌️ Those clouds look suspicious….. As expected 😂 The grocery bill came to about ¥20,000… 💸
(We bought way too much) Finally arrived at today’s accommodation…! SANU 2nd Home – I’ve actually been curious about this since it launched. Not a hotel, so we need to find our cabin and check in ourselves. This time we chose “SANU CABIN MOSS Medium.” Look at this interior…!
The natural wood design is absolutely stunning..! The workspace has a picture window –
ironically, it might be too distracting to actually work! 😂 Here’s the water area – the bathroom felt just like home. Taking a tour around the room first –
I bet everyone does this! (lol) Equipment check before we start cooking! There’s plenty of cutlery available. We wanted to use a slicer to thinly slice carrots,
so we’re relieved to find this! Having these detailed cooking tools available
is really appreciated when you want to cook. On the other side, there are plates, cups and other tableware. They even have coffee supplies and Tenpuru…!
The attention to detail is amazing. The seasonings were hidden behind a secret door. Basic seasonings like oil, salt, soy sauce, sake, mirin, etc. are all available. They have seasonings for Japanese food,
but the selection might be tricky for Western dishes lol We brought some of our own seasonings
and bought a few more at the supermarket~ And the main attraction of this room – the sauna! One of the reasons we chose this Karuizawa 2nd
among all the SANU locations. Having a private sauna in such a beautiful place –
is it okay to be this luxurious…? There’s even a relaxation space facing the beautiful nature. My friends were absolutely thrilled too! (lol) There’s also a fire pit, so I’m excited for it to get dark! 🔥 While the sauna heats up, we’ll prep the food! 💪🏻 Sauna time! 🧖 After getting refreshed in the sauna,
time to enjoy the food we cooked and some drinks! Since we’re here, we got 4 types of local Karuizawa beer! We prepared things that don’t need cooking first,
so let’s start with the appetizers! Cheers~! Beer after the sauna is just too good… For appetizers, we made some recipes we’ve tried before
and challenged ourselves with new ones we wanted to try. I love preparing lots of appetizers like this
that we can slowly nibble on (presentation included! 😂) For the hot dish, we made “Hasselback Eggplant”
that I found on social media and wanted to try! Made by cutting slits in halved eggplant,
then stuffing with basil, cheese, and tomato sauce. The process of stuffing the slits was a bit time-consuming,but everyone loved it…! ☺️ Personally, I have some regrets about it,
so I want to make it again for a rematch…! Left the main course to the guys! ✌️ Perfect doneness……! Being able to eat meat of this quality is too luxurious. The cooking technique is truly masterful… Pairing it with the red sparkling wine
brought as a souvenir! 🍷 The potato side dish we made was also so delicious.. Apparently slow-fried at low temperature with local Karuizawa herbs -the herb aroma is irresistible. Having so many good cooks makes for an amazing dining experience. After enjoying our meal, it’s bonfire time! I wonder how many years it’s been since I did handheld fireworks in summer -reminds me of those student days. At night, tried poker for the first time that my friend brought -the rules are simple but hard to remember…! Since there’s no clean ending,
it left me with this frustrating feeling! (lol) Next time I have a chance to try it,
I think it’d be better to play in a more thrilling situation (?) Since we stayed up late, I forced myself to wake up
rubbing my sleepy eyes. Though it was just a short overnight trip,
it was a wonderful place to be healed by nature, sauna, and delicious food. Returning to Tokyo, the busy daily life begins again,
but I feel recharged enough to keep going. When you’re tired too,
please find your own special place to recharge.
