Hello, YouTube. You might remember we did a walking tour of the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line a while back. Now that Golden Week is over, it’s time for a new adventure! Today, we’re kicking off the Marunouchi Line Walking Tour. The Marunouchi Line has a total of 28 stations, but this part of the line branches off, which makes it a bit tricky to walk through all the stations in one continuous route. So today, we’ll start on the branch line beginning at Honancho, passing through Nakano-Fujimicho and Nakano-Shimbashi, and ending at Nakano-Sakaue. In the next video, we’ll explore the main line starting from Ogikubo, so please stay tuned. Alright, let’s get started.

Join us on a walking tour along the branch line of the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line. Starting from Honancho Station, the first stop on the branch line, we’ll walk through Minami-Asagaya and Shin-koenji, ending the journey at Higashi-koenji Station. This walk offers a unique view of everyday Tokyo life, taking you through quiet residential streets, charming local shops, and peaceful neighborhoods away from the tourist crowds. There is no background music or narration—just the real sounds and sights of the city, captured from a pedestrian’s point of view. Take a relaxing walk with us through this lesser-known side of Tokyo.

    It was surprisingly empty. I wonder if it would be that empty in cities with a similar population to Tokyo, like Delhi, except certain crowded areas.

    Entspannte, schöne Stadtgegend. Die natürliche (Bäume, kleine Grünanlagen, kleine Parks) Belassung der Stadtgebiete ist sehr wichtig. Mir fiel auf, wieviel besser der Einfluss dadurch ist.     Boy, I'd better strap my hiking boots on for this 9 part Tokyo Metro tour! Leg 1 showed nice, quiet and even diverse neighborhoods. Nakano Station I would recognize if everything stays the same, which it won't. 14:54 creative way to break up the monotony of the gray wall along the river. Great, large produce store I would check out if I lived in the neighborhood 43:34. And I wouldn't eat here, 35:39, they don't have enough menu choices! ; -) Thanx, as always.     I'm enjoying these train line walks. I've heard of these subway lines, but never knew what their routes were, so this is very informative.
    The ambulances must really love you too. This one managed to get very close to you. 😄
