大井川鐵道きかんしゃトーマス2025/Day out with Thomas2025🇯🇵

Hello, I’m Ayako Suzukawa. Today, I’m here at the Oigawa Railway’s Day Out with Thomas 2025 event. This year, it’s the 80th anniversary of the publication of the original Thomas story. And the Oigawa Railway is celebrating its 100th anniversary, making it a very special anniversary year. Today is press day, so I’m looking forward to enjoying the event. At the Shin-Kanaya Station Thomas Fair Venue, there is a turntable, and if you time it right, you can see Thomas the Tank Engine turning around. Admission to the Shin-Kanaya Station Thomas Fair Venue is free for those with a round-trip ticket for the Thomas the Tank Engine Train. Otherwise, it is 500 yen per person over the age of 1. Shin-Kanaya Station. So, here we are at Shin-Kanaya Station. I’d like to wait here until boarding time. This is the timetable for Shin-Kanaya Station, located in the waiting room. The Thomas the Tank Engine Train departs from Shin-Kanaya Station at 10:36 AM, and at 1:20 PM. Depending on the day, there is also a third train that departs at 3:41 PM. Thomas! Thomas, I’m looking forward to the ride! Because it was press day, Sir Topham Hatt made a special appearance. Now, let’s go inside the train. Inside, there are flag-type garlands like this, and the seats are printed with Thomas and his friends, which is very cute. And so, the Thomas the Tank Engine Train is now departing for Kawane-onsen-Sasamado Station. We are scheduled to arrive at Kawane-onsen-Sasamado Station at 11:17 AM, making it a one-way ride of about 40 minutes. At Kawane-onsen-Sasamado Station, many people are seeing off the Thomas the Tank Engine Train. By the way, official merchandise includes small flags for sale, so wave them to see us off! Oh, Thomas! Scheduled to arrive at 11:17. Bertie! Wanna race? Let’s not. For those in cars 5 and 4, car 2 is at the very back. Restrooms are located in cars 5 and 2. There are two restrooms, in cars 5 and 2. The windows are manual. You are welcome to open the windows, but please refrain from sticking your face, hands, or smartphones out the window as it is dangerous. We are now passing Gokaku Station (Passing Station). It used to be called Goka Station, but the name was changed to the current Gokaku Station in 2020. And next we’ll be passing Kadode Station (Starting Point Station), which opened in November 2020. Kadode is located next to the Oi River and features a local produce shop and a cafe. Together with the neighboring Gokaku Station that we passed earlier, it is also famous for its very auspicious name. Nice. Again, this is what the passenger car interior looks like. It has a very retro atmosphere, allowing you to immerse yourself in the world of Thomas. The train runs along the Oi River, which is also where the Oigawa Railway gets its name. The train to Kawane-onsen-Sasamado that I’m on now, especially from the seats on the right side in the direction of travel, you can get a great view of the Oi River. There are also signs of Thomas’s friends along the railway line, So be sure to look for them from inside the train. And Kamio Station is where you’ll be greeted by many tanuki statues. Among the approximately 70 tanuki statues, there is said to be only one Golden Tanuki shining in gold. Shizuoka Prefecture is famous as a tea-producing region, and along the Oigawa Railway line as well, there are many tea fields, which you can see up close. The natural scenery along the Oigawa Railway line, and the sight of the blue Thomas the Tank Engine running, I think they’re a perfect match. Sometimes when going around a large curve, you can catch a glimpse of Thomas running at the front. We’ll be arriving at Ieyama Station shortly. Percy is at Ieyama Station this year. Percy was separated from his friends at Senzu Station due to the 2022 typhoon, but Thomas the Tank Engine and Percy have reunited after a long time. Percy! Percy! Percy! This is the Thomas the Tank Engine bento that you can buy at Shin-Kanaya Station and Senzu Station. It also comes with an original postcard. The contents are also a very lovely Thomas bento, with delicious side dishes that children love, and rice. Many people not only from the station but also along the railway line come to see off Thomas the Tank Engine. Now, the highlight of the Oigawa Railway line is the Oigawa Railway Oigawa First Bridge. It’s a bridge with a great view where the train slowly crosses the Oi River. The best thing about this bridge is you can get an amazing view of Thomas the Tank Engine from underneath it. If you want to see Thomas the Tank Engine in action, this is the best spot. Oh, Bertie! Bertie! The train turns around and departs at 11:29 AM. We arrived at Kawane-onsen-Sasamado Station in no time. Since I’m riding round trip this time, I took a short walk outside to see the station building during our 12-minute stop. We have arrived. We will turn back again. Inside the station building, there was a panel of Green Thomas, before he was blue. The station building is also retro and very cute. I bought the nostalgic SL Black Ice Cream that they used to sell on the platform. You can also buy it from the window while on the train. When you open it up, it’s really black like this. It was chocolate flavored and very delicious. Now, we’re heading back towards Shin-Kanaya Station. The weather is cloudy, but the tea fields along the railway line are very beautiful. Percy! Percy! Percy! Sorry to keep you waiting! Percy! Yay! He was waiting for us at Ieyama Station. Percy! Percy! We have returned to Ieyama Station. Normally, the stop is about 6 minutes, but today is press day, so especially, Percy and Thomas the Tank Engine at Ieyama Station are having an event where they’re lined up next to each other. We’re at Ieyama Station. Thomas is so close! After this, we’re going to get water, and then line up next to our beloved friend Percy! Yay! First, Thomas will detach from the passenger cars. Then, we’ll switch to the track with the water tower. And back in. This was also my first time seeing the water supply at Ieyama Station. Three workers are sharing the work, turning valves, and connecting hoses. You can see the water going through the hose and being supplied to Thomas the Tank Engine. Now, Thomas the Tank Engine and Percy will be performing together on their own as locomotives. The sight of Thomas and Percy side by side is one of my favorite scenes that appears many times in the stories, so I was happy to see it today. I hope to see my friends at Senzu Station again as soon as possible. Bertie the Bus also lined up specially for us. If you use the mirror on the platform, you can take a selfie like this. Thomas, Percy, and Bertie are also lined up. Percy, Thomas, Bertie. Bertie, goodbye. Bertie, thank you. Be careful. Bye-bye. Thomas is returning to the main line to couple with the passenger cars again. He’s going back to the main line. This time, I was also able to see Thomas coupling up close up. 3m 2m 1m 1m Almost there. Okay, stop. Okay, just a little forward, please. We’re departing. Okay, stop. We’re departing. Percy, thank you. Thank you. Percy, see you later. Let’s play again. Thank you for riding with us. This is the Thomas the Tank Engine train bound for Shin-Kanaya. We are scheduled to arrive at Shin-Kanaya at 13:27. Kadode Station, how auspicious! And next to it is Gokaku Station. How auspicious! Congratulations. That was so quick! Bye-bye. We have arrived at Shin-Kanaya Station. We have arrived. Now, now, now, who does this rail lead to? I left the station and came back to the Thomas Fair venue. There was Nia of the Loco Train. It started running last year, but this was my first time seeing it. The Loco Train platform was also created with the world of Thomas in mind, which was very nice. It’s Nia. Did you come from Kenya? How cute. Long eyelashes, so cute. And the pattern on the body is also lovely. Nia the Tank Engine is a locomotive from Kenya, Africa, and in the movie “Thomas & Friends: Big World! Big Adventures!” Thomas met her while traveling the world. There are three passenger cars attached to the back, and you can ride on this. The inside has bench-type seats, and you board from the side door for each row. Tracks are drawn on the ground, and Nia of the Loco Train runs on top of this. It’s Nia. It’s Nia. Hello. I’m Nia. Thank you for coming to the Oigawa Railway today. Is everyone ready? Then let’s get started. Departure! Let me introduce myself again. My name is Nia. There are many different locomotives on Sodor Island, I’m also a member of the Steam Team. I came from Kenya in Africa, and I’ve carried giraffes, camels, and even elephants before. I met Thomas in Kenya, and while traveling around the world, I’ve run through deserts and jungles. It was a wonderful journey. Inside the train, you can enjoy familiar songs from Thomas the Tank Engine, and hear Nia speak. Actually, I love being helpful to others. And since I’m not so busy right now, I came to Japan to help Thomas. Huh? I wonder where Thomas is. Please let me know if you find him. Flynn and Winston are here too. There’s also a turntable ahead. Thomas rotates here. I want to rotate once too. Let me introduce myself again. My name is Nia. Depending on the time, you can also see Thomas perform. This is Thomas Fair. The Thomas Fair at Shin-Kanaya Station If you have a round-trip ticket for Thomas the Tank Engine on the day, you can get an admission ticket exchange coupon at the Thomas Fair venue reception. You can get an admission ticket exchange coupon. If you only ride Thomas the Tank Engine one way, or if you don’t ride at all, you need to purchase an admission ticket at the reception. Also, the Thomas Fair is only held on days when Thomas the Tank Engine is running. Winston. This is Winston, the rail inspection vehicle that Sir Topham Hatt rides. He used to be at Senzu Station, but it seems he’s at Shin-Kanaya Station this year. You can ride and take pictures. Flynn. This is Flynn, a road-rail vehicle that can run on both rails and roads, and is also a special fire engine. This is Flynn, a special fire engine. You can see the Oigawa Rescue Center logo, the water discharge pipe and ladder on the roof, and other cool features of the vehicle up close, such as the hoses. There is a hose cart attached to the back. At the Thomas Fair venue, there are also Thomas, Percy, and Bertie battery cars, and the hand-powered trolley “Tetoro.” You can also ride the Thomas the Tank Engine mini train. Also, at the Senzu Station Thomas Fair venue, Hiro and James are stopped, and between Senzu Station and Okuizumi Station this year as well, you can ride Toby the Tram Engine. Now, So, that was Oigawa Railway’s Day out with Thomas 2025. This year again, it’s even more powered up, and you can meet and play with Thomas and his friends a lot. Until December 25th of this year, 2025, Thomas and his friends are at the Oigawa Railway. So, by all means, Why don’t you all come for a ride? Good luck, Thomas! Okay, that’s all for Oigawa Railway’s Day Out with Thomas 2025. That’s it. Everyone, come and see them!
