Today’s camping trip is to a hidden gem of a valley deep in the forest. I happened to come across it on social media and thought, “Wow, I have to go there!” If you look at my outfit today, it’s in backpack mode. That’s because you absolutely have to hike up here. The reason is obvious — cars can’t enter this area. So I’ve packed my bag well, trusting my own two legs, and now I’m ready to head out. From the photos, it looked really, really beautiful. I’m curious and excited to see what it’s like in person. Other than the fact that you have to walk quite a bit to the campsite, I couldn’t find much detailed info. When I get there later, I’ll let you know roughly how long it took and whether the path was rough or smooth. Alright then, let’s start today’s camping trip safely and joyfully. Originally, you could drive into this campsite, but for some reason — I’m not sure why — they say vehicle access has been completely blocked. So now, you can only get there on foot. On the plus side, the campsite fee is cheaper, and only people who truly love camping go there, so it’s considered one of the top backpacking spots. That’s why I’m so excited right now. I’m really curious about how clean and beautiful the valley water will be and what the campsite will feel like. It’s my first time going there today, so I’m really looking forward to it. Parking here is key — you either have to arrive really early to get one of the few free spots, or find a paid parking lot nearby. (Parking fees are expensive.) Luckily, I got a free parking spot. (But was I really lucky?) The weather is really nice today. [The sounds of summer are so nice.] Since I heard I’d have to walk quite a lot, I wore socks with my sandals. These sandals have good traction. I could just wear the sandals alone, but since I’ll be walking a lot, I wore socks so my feet won’t hurt — fully prepared. Also, if you arrive early at the campsite, you can get a shaded spot, but if you’re late, there won’t be any shade. (First come, first served.) So I brought a tarp, and since I need poles to set it up, I brought poles too. That’s why my backpack is heavier than usual today. So I decided to just buy water and beer at the campsite instead of carrying them. I only brought two small bottles of wine for the evening, along with some food. The weather is… Wow, everyone, It’s sooo hot, but it’s also really beautiful. When I first arrived, there was lots of shade so I didn’t wear a hat, but now I think I need one. Wearing a hat makes it feel so much cooler. I heard hats or parasols in summer can lower your body temperature by 2–3°C instantly. Anyway, I hope you all wear hats or carry parasols on hot days, and stick to shady areas as much as possible. I really think summer backpacking is amazing. It’s hot and exhausting, but the satisfaction, sense of achievement… and thrill? you feel when you arrive is just huge. You can hear my voice well, right? Good, good. Ah~ everyone, once you get this far, there’s another paid parking lot here. (Located along the main road.) You really don’t need to walk all the way up from before. But if you think your legs are strong, parking down below and walking up like I did isn’t a bad idea. But… am I going the right way? Which way is it? There’s a fork in the road? There’s a path over there too, but that seems to lead to someone’s house, so I think it’s this way. The valley I’m heading to is so nice that even people who aren’t camping come a lot just for a day trip to play in the water. Anyway, that’s the info I found. I don’t think this is the place. Everyone, I don’t think this is the place. There were some people parking over there earlier. If I was on the right path, they should be behind me, but I can hear their voices from across the way. I guess this isn’t the right way. I think I need to go back. Those people must have been confused too! Like, “That’s not the right road, why is that woman going that way?” Why didn’t they say something? I have to go back. Well… I thought for sure the biggest road would be the right one, so I took this way, but I guess not. Still, I’m glad I thought, “Why do I hear voices from over there? Oh my, I must be in the wrong place!” And now I’m back at the parking lot. I think it’s that way, toward the back. I think this is the way to go, this way. Oh, that’s right! There’s something like a sign! Or is it? What is this? (It’s like a code.) Which way do I go? But I can hear voices from here though. There’s nothing like a proper sign. Maybe it’ll show up if I keep going? I hear people’s voices… Excuse me, is this the right way to the campsite? / Yeah, I think so. You’re not going? / There are too many bugs… You’re going home? Oh my goodness. If I go this way, will I reach the campsite? / I’m not sure. It’s blocked. / It’s blocked? Yes, it’s private property… / Then where on earth should I go? / Where are you headed? / To the campsite. We’re also trying to find it. / Oh really? I was going the other way but heard voices here, so I came this way. They said to avoid the private property and go through the mountain trail… / (Shocked) A mountain trail?! I guess this isn’t the right way either, everyone… My goodness, where am I supposed to go? The women said there are too many bugs so they’re going home, and the men here said the upper area is private property so they came back down. Could it be that the path I took earlier was actually correct…? Or was that weird marking… could that really have been a signpost? We’re going this way? Is this the right way? No one said anything about climbing a mountain… What do I do… I don’t think I should lose sight of those people… Everyone… I’m okay, right? Oh my, the slope is quite steep. Everyone. I… was going to tell you once I arrived… (panting) If this really is the right way, the path to the campsite is rough. I mean, how beautiful must the valley be to be hidden away like this? I lost them… Earlier… Late teens? Early twenties? They’re guys, and they definitely walk fast. Where could it be? Could it be here? But really, I haven’t seen a single signpost so far. Is this the right way? This is bad. There’s not a single signpost. Everyone, where do you think those guys went? Could this be the right way? What do I do? Should I go up? Or go down? What should I do? I can’t even hear voices… I don’t know… I’ll just try going. “Go for it even if All in lose!” That’s what I said, but honestly I kept trying to find the way… Is this map even right? How are you supposed to find this place? Everyone, how are you supposed to find this? They say there’s no path?! Where is this road taking me? [Where the road I’m taking is going, where it’s leading me] Seriously, what do I do… [Though I don’t know where that place is] Everyone… [I don’t know, but still I keep walking today] Today’s camping isn’t valley camping, it’s “maze camping.” How’s today’s camping? [Why am I standing on this road? Is this really my path? At the end of this road, will my dream come true?] Goodbye, everyone! I don’t know anymore… It’s hot and exhausting… But really, when else will I get to hike like this in the blazing summer? Right? Looks like all you’ll see today is me hiking a mountain. Oh? That… I think I saw it on the internet…? That iron gate! Did I come the right way? Everyone! Don’t go this way! They say it’s private property! Private! The info I found said to park and just follow this road straight, but… I guess not. Oh my goodness, everyone… I’m back at square one! Square one… [It’s like I’m possessed by a ghost] What is going on… Look here, my car’s right there?! My car is right here, everyone. I must have just walked around the mountain. Where am I supposed to go? I seriously don’t get it… Everyone, I’ll turn the camera back on. Thankfully, I met a camper who was leaving and they told me the way. Everyone, the place I went to earlier was actually correct — the one with the family graves! From there, I needed to go further. If you keep going straight from there… you’ll see greenhouses, and after the greenhouses there’s a signpost… and then eventually you’ll reach the campsite. Once again… I’ll power through and go. “Still = I did something foolish” “But I now know the correct way = I feel like crying.” If you look here… I’ll tell you so you don’t get lost. If you just keep going up the road, you’ll see this sign that says “Parking Lot” and a fork in the road — don’t go down, go up toward the iron gate. Going back the way I came. Still, I’m relieved — better to know the way now than to keep wandering around the same wrong path without knowing. But my shoulders do hurt quite a bit. By the time I arrive, the sun will be setting. Everyone, I think the sun will be setting when I arrive. I’m so glad I wore socks with my sandals — otherwise my feet would really be hurting. I went down because I saw this “Private Property – No Entry” sign. To put it simply, they were blocking vehicle access from this private property. Instead, they leave the pedestrian gate next to the iron gate open so you can walk to the campsite. But the information I found didn’t mention this iron gate at all, so of course I didn’t go in when I saw the no-entry sign… Because I didn’t know this short but crucial piece of information, I ended up walking for over an hour only to be back at the starting point. Please keep this in mind. This is exactly where I said earlier, “Even if I lose, I’ll go!” “Even if I lose, I’ll go!” Why didn’t I “go” but instead “go back”? Because everywhere I thought, “This must be the way,” wasn’t the right path… so I went back each time, but the last one was actually correct. I deserve a scolding. When I first started out, I thought I’d be able to tell you how long it took to get there, whether the road was flat, and so on, since I assumed I’d head straight to the campsite… But I’ve wandered way too much… This must be the right way, but I’m still not sure it really is. If you’re going to this campsite, I think it’s better to check someone else’s video instead of mine. If you follow me… you might just… wander around in circles like you’re trapped in a maze. Oh! There’s the greenhouse! Everyone— Finally! Finally!! I can see the sign over there—the campsite sign! This is crazy… it says there’s still 900 meters to go from here. Forest Domachi Valley. 900 meters. I’m on my way! Just 900 more meters to go—let’s go! This is also valley water. Wow, it’s so clear. I’m really looking forward to this. Is this trip trying to warm me up physically before I even get to the campsite so it can be extra fun later? I think I’ll enjoy anything… as long as I just get there. Over there— I think I see it! I finally arrived. They said only the far end of the campsite has shade, so I brought a tarp since the rest is exposed. Apparently, the upper area is also a campsite (run by another operator). There are more people at that campsite. Ah, it’s because that campsite has more tree shade. Anyway— Where should I set up my spot? Everyone—the valley water is insane! All the struggle was worth it. I was debating whether to take a spot at the far end or here, but the students here said they’ll be leaving later, so I’ll take this spot. Since my backpack was heavy… I’ll unload and set up quickly, then go into the water. Ahh… my shoulders… I can’t feel my shoulders. The water is so clear. Amazing. Everyone, shall I tell you something surprising? I arrived at the campsite, saw the stream once, and was about to set up my tent, but then I got a call asking me to move my car, so I went and moved it. I think today is the day I’ve walked the most this summer. (Maybe even this whole year..?) Anyway, I clearly parked there after reading on a blog that parking was free, but no—everyone, that place is private property, so you’ll get a call asking you to move your car. So I recommend parking in the official parking lot. Anyway, I’ve walked so much today that I feel a little dazed right now. I think I need to hurry up, finish setting up my tent, and really get into that water. (It was really tough at this moment) Okay, start! GoPro! I brought my GoPro to use when swimming later, and this is my fan. And today, I brought my Nemo tent. I’ll start by laying down the ground sheet and setting up. The tent setup is complete. The Nemo Dagger Storm 2P is super easy to set up. I can pitch it anytime without confusion. The shade from the trees is nice, so I might not need to set up a tarp, but since I carried it all the way here, I’ll set it up anyway! And— To set up a tarp, you need stakes, so I brought a hammer too. Light packing… I don’t think about that. I just pack as much as I can carry, as much as will fit in my bag. The tarp is a Hilleberg 10, 10UL. It’s been a while since I set up a tarp. Since there are people over there, I’ll lower that side when setting it up. If I set up the tarp like this, it blocks the sunlight and also gives me privacy from the neighboring site, which is nice. Oh~ pretty, pretty. I’m satisfied. Chair. But everyone… I think I might have a touch of heat exhaustion. I think I’ll go to the store, buy an ion drink, sit down for a bit, cool off, then finish setting up and get into the stream. Because I walked continuously in the midday heat without resting, my head feels a little dizzy… I’ll go buy an ion drink at the store. I’ll be back. I should also just buy firewood while I’m at it. Can you hear my voice? One Pocari Sweat and some firewood, please. I’m back, everyone. You all should also drink an ion drink like this if you’re hot during the summer daytime. I may look like I’m always drinking alcohol in my videos, but before drinking beer, I also drink water and ion drinks—I take good care of myself. Ah, that’s nice. Now, since I’m going into the water, I’ll remove the mic. Alright, let’s go. Ah, it’s hot. The journey here to the campsite wasn’t exactly smooth, but now that everything’s done, I’m heading to the stream. Wow, the water is really clean. Wow, it’s refreshing. It’s so clear. They say if you go down there, there’s really deep water. But first, I’ll cool off my sweat here before going. Wow, this spot is even better. I finished swimming, washed up, and bought some cold beer and water from the convenience store. The beer is really, really cold. Earlier, there were so many people at the stream that for a moment I thought, “This is a bit embarrassing!” and considered going back up to a spot with no people. But the lower part of the stream was wide and deep, perfect for swimming and even diving. And since I really love the water—whether it’s a pool, the sea, or a stream—I thought, “Ah, whatever, embarrassment is only temporary!” So I set up my camera and went in to play. I swam a lot and had such a great time. Wow, this stream… it’s honestly the best! Ah, delicious. This place would be even better if you came with family or friends. Wow, the clouds over there have a pinkish hue. Can you see the pinkish color? In reality, they’re a bit pink, but maybe it doesn’t show well on camera… Anyway, the sun has just gone down behind that mountain. Today the clouds… maybe they mixed just right with the sun? They have a pink hue. It’s beautiful! Grilled beef sirloin. I think I can turn off the gas now, it’ll cook with the residual heat. Wow, that looks delicious. Wow, it’s so good! Everything tastes better when you eat it outdoors. I also brought ssamjang, chili peppers, and garlic. And since I didn’t have any small bottles of red wine at home, I just brought two bottles of white wine. Tasty. And a lot of people have been asking me where I bought the small wine bottles. But all these small wines are ones I picked up while traveling, so they probably aren’t sold in Korea. The second dish is gambas. There’s no way gambas could taste bad! It’s that flavor everyone knows! Another bottle. The shrimp is delicious. Even if it’s a hassle, you have to toast the baguette—it tastes so much better. After dinner, I did a live stream, but when the lights went out, I couldn’t drink the Kozel beer I’d planned to. So I’m going to drink it now before bed. I’ll finish my beer by the fire and then head to sleep. You’ve all worked hard today as well. Have a comfortable night. Good morning, everyone. I slept really, really well. If you look over here, the sunlight is just starting to come in. But it’s still not that hot. Since the stream kept sending cool breezes all night, it was really, really refreshing. And even now, while this side feels a bit warm, the opposite side is letting in a lot of cool air. These days I usually wake up because it gets too hot when the sun rises, but today I woke up simply because it got bright outside—not from the heat. It’s been a long time since I woke up without sweating. Ah~ so refreshing. It feels noticeably cooler once I step outside. Wow, it’s really cool. If I hadn’t had this hat yesterday, it would’ve been much harder. I thought, “From now on, I’ll make sure to bring a hat whenever I have to walk a lot.” Thank you, my hat. But seriously, everyone, it’s so, so, so cool out here. So nice I think it would be even better with an iced coffee right now, so I’ll go to the store and get one. I bought coffee with my favorite hazelnut flavor. You guys know ‘Coffee Bean Hazelnut Latte’ is really delicious, right? I go to Coffee Bean just to drink that. When you crave sweet coffee, try it sometime. My favorite coffee is Coffee Bean Hazelnut Latte, and I only drink it iced. Oh, even now the hazelnut aroma is so, so good. I guess this has some sugar in it—the sweetness is so tasty!! Yep, it does have sugar. My mood suddenly got even better. My blood sugar will go up, but so will my dopamine!! It smells good, it’s sweet, and it’s tasty. I think I’ll come back to this campsite. You have to walk quite a bit to get here, but these days you can’t find a campsite for only 10,000 won. And the valley is just unbelievably nice. The owner told me that while I went to the lower area, there’s also a really great spot further up. So next time I come, I want to try going up there too. Campsite fee 10,000 won, electricity fee 5,000 won. So if you use electricity, it’s 15,000 won, and if you don’t, it’s 10,000 won to relax in this gem of a valley. Parking might be a bit tricky though, so I recommend just using a paid parking lot for peace of mind. Yesterday, I got a call asking me to move my car… I almost cried. The place where I first parked yesterday was actually a no-parking zone! I’ve shown you firsthand, everyone. Anyway, I learned yesterday that you can’t believe everything you see online—whether it’s blogs or anything else. So nice I highly recommend wearing socks with sandals! Thanks to that, the soles of my feet didn’t get scraped yesterday. The water is so clear. It’s so transparent… you can see the bottom completely, like a mirror, really. I’ll go ahead and finish packing up. Folding the air mattress is the hardest part. Once that’s done, packing up is basically finished. You have to fold it this small, so letting all the air out is harder than you’d think. I’m all packed up, and now I’ll walk back to where I parked. The sky is so, so beautiful again today. It’s full of nature’s sounds. The sound of insects, cicadas, and even the valley stream—it’s all so, so nice. I’ll just walk nicely back home… well, not walk home, I’ll walk to the car, and then drive home carefully. Thank you so much for watching the video today. We’ll meet again in the *next* video. Thank you. Really, goodbye
