ペルーのマチュピチュで大きな間違いを犯しました🇵🇪
Good morning here from the beautiful city of Cusco. As you see in the last episode, we’ve already stayed here for almost one week now. And today our dream is about to come true because we are going to go to one of our bucket list destination. Machu Picchu, one of the new seven wonders in the world. Justin dreamed about this place for one year. He put on a wallpaper this photo like Photoshop background with Machu Picchu and us there. And now we’re going there. I can’t believe this. Look. That’s a Photoshop version. But this time we actually going to take a selfie at the top of the mountain. Now we’re going to replicate the same photo now to go to Machu Pichu, the most common ways actually to take the train. And we’re taking the Inca rail this time. There are two. One is Inca Rail, one is Peru Rail. And this looks like to be the ticket office. You can buy tickets on the spot here. Wow, this is the coolest bus station ever. Yeah, look at this. It felt like to be a VIP lounge with a lot of like really interesting design and stuff. And there’s the waiting area. It’s actually a really big space. We arrived one hour earlier than our schedule. See, the thing is going to Machu Picchu, the closest town is actually called Aguas Caliente. But that town is actually a car free zone. Means you can’t drive a car to there. Either you have to take the train or you can take a bus to the closest town there, which is around I think five hours. We did research and after that you need to hike for another two to three hours until you arrive to town of Aguas Caliente, which is not an option for us because we have heavy baggage. That’s why we decided to take the train. The thing is, because of this, it’s actually a monopoly system where there are only two railway companies. So that’s why the ticket price, price wise it’s starting from 75, which is the minimum price for like a return trip. It’s going to cost us 300 in total. And the problem is we still don’t have tickets to Machu Picchu. We don’t actually know whether we’re actually going to go to Machu Picchu or not. But I hope we can because usually if you want to go to Machu Picchu, you need book like super early. Maybe like six months in advance, three months in advance. But we didn’t know that. So that’s why in the last minute, before one month we start checking tickets and it turns out online is already sold out everything, so. So the only option is to go there and stay in a line early in the morning. Maybe we can get tickets. I hope so. We’re a bit too early. Just now something weird happened. They told us that our ticket is not for June, which is now June. They said now our tickets for July. Do you book wrong? Oh, I don’t know why I booked July here. They cannot change the tickets for us. I need to call this company and maybe they will change tickets for me last minute. What a nightmare. So really nothing you can do? Yeah, no, I’m sorry because we wouldn’t have a space. I mean, we have already. So now we cannot refund ticket, we cannot return ticket. We cannot do nothing. They cannot do nothing. So only options is to buy a new ticket to go to machu picchu, another $300 only if they have today extra space for us. Oh, it’s only for today. Yeah. So here we only have for today. I book through 12Go Asia and their support team is not really helping that much. And also I think there it clearly says no refund. How did we make this mistake? To be honest, the only option for us now is to pay for another 300 bucks. So in total, we spent only on train $600. Oh, that’s expensive. I mean, this is Machu Picchu. You know, your dream. Yeah, I guess it is what it is, right? We ended up having to buy new train tickets. And because we already missed the bus, the only option left is to use a local minibus called Collectivo to catch up with our original train. Okay. Okay. Okay. Thank you. What a dramatic turn of events. Holy. This is not how I imagine we start this episode. But anyway, now the change of plans is that we’re going to take one of these minibuses, Collectivos. This city starts with O very long name. And then after that, from there, we’re going to take the train. Sorry. Oh, so expensive mistake $300 it’s okay. You know, like Machu Picchu, you can see this morning I was super excited to go. Like so much excitement. And then this turn of event just like make my heart so chaotic right now. Anyway, we’re still going, so. Yeah. Nevertheless, it is what it is. If it’s a dream, you’re always going to make it happen. Machu Picchu. Worth it. Yes. So we finally arrived. This town called Ollantaytambo. Finally got it right by such a long name. But this is actually the starting point of the train to Machu Picchu. Alina, you need your passport please to complete your check in. Yep. Chicha. What’s a nice entertainment at the start of the entrance? It is cool. Cool. Part of the package I think. So as it turns out, Chicha actually means like, you know that drink that we had, chicha morada. It’s like the corn but instead of in English you would say cheese when you smile. But chi also has that like same like mouth expression. Chi. So that’s why they say Chicha here in Peru. Hey, Alina got kidnapped just now. Yeah. I thought we have normal train but turns out we have 360. How come? Yeah, the staff was telling me it’s going to be a basic model. And just like that we’ve made it to the town of Aguas Caliente. Oh so cinematic here. So beautiful. It’s like mountains everywhere, surrounded by these huge mountains. And it’s super moody right now because it’s raining. It’s a bit foggy as well. Okay, so now our goal is to go to quickly check in our hostel or hotel anyway and after that we’re gonna fight for our tickets to Machu Picchu since today. Yeah. Let’s see how it goes. One of the biggest concerns when coming to places like Machu Picchu or Cusco is likely dealing with high altitude sickness even tho we took high altitude sickness pills in advance we still felt very jelly and exhausted the first few days and that is exactly why I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a good reliable travel insurance imagine if you get sick in a foreign country whether it is high altitude sickness, food poisoning or anything unexpected of course you want a peace of mind knowing your doctor’s visits, medications and hospital visits are all covered right and that’s why I want to introduce you to our go to travel insurance – safetywing because we have been using them since 2022 and it is one of the most popular options amongst long term travellers and digital nomads and for good reasons, because they are very affordable the basic plan only starts from $56 for 4 weeks and it covers emergency medical expenses like doctor’s visits, hospital stays, prescription medications etc plus other travel stuff like lost checked baggage Travel delays and trip interruptions and there’s even a complete plan if you are travelling long term and want more coverage it literally takes less than 5 minutes to sign up and the claim process is one of the easiest we have ever dealt with so if you want to sign up we will leave the affiliate link in the description it is at no extra cost to you And if you want to help support our channel, you can sign up before your next trip now let’s get back to the video You know I feel like being in the city it has this very like glorious ancient empire feeling just because everything is so delicate here. You see like random paintings on barriers like this and you’ve got like these very delicate detailed designs of I don’t know what it is, like a tiger or dragon. Whole city you can see many big sculptures or like statues of Inca empire here as well. So it has this feeling, special feeling like a kingdom, old kingdom here. Yeah. Also the city is super peaceful because here is no cars and no smell of engine and more like a nature inside nature. I feel so nice here because everyone just so chill, relax, don’t rush nowhere like a holiday town. So in this town there is this really touristy street which is like an ongoing slope continuously. Lots of restaurants on both sides as well. But these restaurants I think it range from like 45 to like 60 sol roughly per person per meal. So it can get quite pricey at some point. And also there are lots of massage places along the street. You can see people just like selling you like ah, massage and then after that you’ll be convinced to go inside. Also I want to say people here, they eat very delicate animals because in this region there are lots of guinea pigs and lots of alpacas as well. So that’s why this is like too many Ingredients that a lot of Peruvians here eat. The guinea pigs, they look like that. Oh, guinea pig. Kind of like a rat. Yeah. Local people eating favorite meats. Yes. Better than chicken. Yeah, I have chicken alpaca beef. Justin said he want to try guinea pig. And also yesterday he tried alpaca meat and he said yeah, just like a normal steak. Yeah, it just, it’s just like a normal piece of steak. I couldn’t taste any, you know, like lamb usually has this like very lamb, lamby taste. But this is just like steak for me. Eating alpaca is like eating cat because it’s a so cute animal. How you can kill and eat, but you eat chicken, you eat like a beef. Chicken is okay. Discriminate based on cuteness. I think this place is super popular for guinea pig. 25 sols is for everything. Yes. Is your restaurant popular for guinea pig? Yes. Yes. This guinea pig. Wow. Yeah. How much is guinea pig? Yes, this is 95. Wow. I lowkey want to try actually, because I feel like I’m quite an adventurous eater and I, you know, it’s not that I really want to eat, but I just feel like when you’re in a special country, I want to maybe try some local delicacy just to experience why they like it. You know, yesterday after we arrived, we check in immediately. And then after that we just kind of like tried our luck because many people said to get tickets at Machu Picchu in person. Usually to start lining up at 3, 4am in the morning to get like a good ticket. But yesterday we’re just like, ah, whatever. We arrived, might as well shoot our luck. Went to the ticket office around 3pm and just got one of those like free tickets. And they asked us to come back at 6 o’ clock. And when we come back at 6 o’, clock, turns out we still get to choose the route that we wanted. So it’s not like everyone said, like you need to line up 3:00am, 4:00am do you have 12:00 clock for 2B? Oh, you want 2A? Okay. All right. 1:30 is fine. So today our plan is finally to go to Machu Picchu. But first we want to eat super proper because I don’t know how many hours we’re going to spend in Machu Picchu. That’s why we came to this restaurant. And we didn’t realize that it’s so beautiful here. We’re just sitting like this and outside it’s a river. Beautiful view in the mountains. We actually didn’t expect to find a view like this. We were Just like randomly looking at reviews and find a restaurant. Honestly, I’m just super excited to go there and just replicate this photo. You know, to think about one year ago, I told Alina, like, I want to go to South America. I want to go see Machu Picchu. And I show her this photo that I photoshopped. And now we actually here. It’s like a dream come true moment, you know, Next time I’ll put in our wallpaper different dream. So then it will come one year later. I want to put big house on. A big, big, big house. A dog. We’ve already finished lunch and now it’s finally our time to go to Machu Picchu. And for you to get there, you actually have to take a bus. I think we’re going to line up now because our entrance is 1pm Imagine if we go exactly right in a time, then we’ll wait here probably one hour. Yeah. Jesus. I didn’t realize this. At what time is your Machu Picchu? One o’. Clock over there under the green bridge. Make a line, please. This is for 12. Oh, okay. All right. Thank you. Wow. So it turns out this is just now it’s line for 12pm There is another line for 1pm so now they come to check our tickets. Passport, please. Even if you want to like buy tickets and sell for other people, you cannot do that because tickets have like special personal name. You know, it’s this feeling that I’m a bit nervous because like it’s something that I’ve been dreaming of visiting for so long, but at the same time also really excited. How long do we have to wait? If that is a 12 o’ clock line and this is the 1 o’ clock line. I mean, still not 12 yet. They say every day they limit the people going to machu Picchu to 4,500 people. Which 1,000 people gets ticket in person? 3,000. It’s online. So this is only like, who is this? Lucky people who get online, they must have booked really early in advance. Wow. Shockingly, it’s so hot here. Yeah. The weather is so different. Yesterday was rain, today so hot. Yay. Finally we in. Wow, this was so long. Buses, waiting lines, finally. This reminds me a lot of Zhangjiajie in China that we went. Yeah, There also like a route where you can only go street, cannot go back, cannot just like stay for long. But wow. I mean, the view here is just so beautiful. You’ve got all these really dramatic cliffs, mountains surrounding us. Ah, this is the iconic view. No. Wow, that is so Beautiful. Oh, this is the photo spot that we need to take. Photo. It looks a bit different. It looks a bit different. I think we need to go even higher. I don’t know how many times I’ve said this already, but I’m still so impressed with this place. Just because, you know, from far away it kind of looks like a maze inside, but in reality is actually what they call a private estate that they were in construction in the 15th century, but it never got to finish because apparently during the time when Spanish invaded. So they have to put this on pause. And that’s why you can see it’s preserved really well up to this day. Justin told me before this place they built special for king. Kings come here and rest. Yeah, you can think of it like a mountain resort kind of thing. But it’s also for religious purpose. Apparently it’s for the royals, like the high status people, and also for the priests. But the fact that they built it on top of mountain is just really impressive. We just keep, keep looking every second like wow. After walk, walk, walk a little bit again. Wow. I mean, looks exactly like picture looks exactly how I imagine. See almost every step here have this special platform for people to taking photo. Oi, looks like Justin fell asleep in the middle of park Justin, wake up It’s day time wow, so bright it is crazy Honestly with this sleep mask, you can literally sleep anywhere in the world Just now when I sleep I literally did not see a sip of light it is how good the manta sleep is We have been using this sleep mask for 3 years now I think and the craziest part about this sleep mask is that it has got this cushion surrounding this eye mask here so that when you sleep it is actually not pressing against your eyes because your eye perfectly fits within these cushions and it is so comfortable and you can literally sleep anywhere in a park like this in the middle of the city in a hotel when you are travelling when the curtains are not completely blacked out this Manta Sleep Mask is perfect Now they have also got other sleep masks as well This is the Manta Pro Sleep Mask they have also got a classic one and even a sound mask as well and other therapeutic mask and if you want to get this manta sleep mask yourself we have a discount code for you, it is JUSTINALINA and you can enjoy 10% off, now I want to go back to sleep let me sleep wow it is literally completely black out it is crazy even in a park like this this is an experiment we have never done but it actually works so yeah get one of these guys See guys, when you go to Machu Picchu, you’ll see a lot of these multi level steps that kind of like. It looks like a terrace. The reason why is because if you imagine, right, let’s say that mountain right there is very steep and here imagine it’s a steep slope. Then when it rains, the water would just flood down and probably wash away all these architecture and buildings. Right. That’s why they built these flatlands, so that it slows down the water flow. And also the water just goes down into the ground instead of flooding, it just absorbs it. Also Justin told me that here they can grow different plants because different level of stairs, different temperature. Yeah. They use these multi levels to experiment what kind of plants best suit for the top or for the bottom. Because different levels have different sun and water and wind amount that could affect the growing process. Soon become like a flower too. Let’s go. We’re already close to the ruins. Now. You’re probably wondering what’s special about Machu Picchu, right? So Machu Picchu, direct translation actually means the old peak. Or sometimes people call it the Lost city of the Incas because it was completely lost to the outside world for over 500 years. And it wasn’t until an American explorer in 1911 randomly found it. And then the world realized what had Been hiding up in the mountains and in the clouds the whole time. Well preserved and untouched. You can see the people in Inca even 500 years ago. They’re very genius in building these kind of architectures. For example, like this windows or the door frames that you see are in this particular shape rather than usually, you know, for a window, it’s like rectangular, but here the bottom is actually wider. I said on a train, right? When you’re trying to balance, it’s easier to balance when your legs are wider like that. But rather if you stand like this, it’s easy for you to knock down. Same principle as a window. When there is an earthquake here, the wider the window’s bottom here, then it’s easier for it to withhold the whole structure without collapsing. Walking through these ruins honestly feels like stepping back in time because we will start imagining what life was like here. Can you even imagine living between these stone walls? And then there are people placing each of these rocks perfectly by hand to form this wall in front of you. Most rooms that we’ve seen around the world, let’s be honest, they are totally broken or half gone. But Machu Picchu are still in amazing condition because the Incas were genius builders. Justin just now told me, he said, oh, so big window we need at home. Like this future villa like this. This is big window for you. at that time window. This is considered big. You see, normal windows are that size, huh? And they built like this. Ambitious. I want a panoramic view. What is this? This is so small. Exactly. In future villa, it’ll be ambitious. People who think windows are like this, we built like this. Whoa. Llama. So many llamas there. Llama so cute. How did they get here? They’re so cute. I always feel llama is like proportionally. Doesn’t make sense. Why is it such a long neck? I think they’re so cute. They say animals like alpaca and llama, their boys are built differently. That lets us absorb more oxygen. Even high air, high mountain air. Like this. Justin is a walking Wikipedia today. I’m very interested in these kind of things. You know, when it interests me, I just remember, guys, don’t ask me why I’m wearing hat in so hot weather. It’s because I didn’t take my cap. So that’s why I. I don’t want to get sun punch. But it’s hot for you, no? So hot. So damn hot. I give you this More breathable. Thank you, Llama Alpaca Santa. People might think I’m Weird. Why so hot weather? I wear a beanie. It’s okay if my. If that makes my girlfriend happy, that’s fine. Thank you, Baby. Can we just take a moment to appreciate this rock right here is so well cut. What? Justin is a nerd with rocks. Please, what do you need? Can we just appreciate how perfectly cut this rock is? It’s like this angle. Like, it’s like a Lego. But irregular shapes, all of them. See this one, it’s like customly cut. When have you ever seen a 5, 6 angled rock stone like this? This one you can see so perfectly cut. And the thing is nothing. They don’t use cement. No, it’s just because of how perfectly cut it is, they can just stack it up like this without ever falling down. It’s that impressive. That’s why, guys, I’m not new to hiring a guide because I already have walking guide with me. Walking here is like a walking in a fairy tale. Everything is so colorful. Here’s alpaca, here’s the mountains. Everything is green. Oh, so beautiful view. It’s really like a picture. Actually, guys, here’s so many rules. They’re not allowed to take out tripod. They’re not allowed to fly drone. They’re not allowed to run. They’re not allowed to jump. They’re not allowed to see. They’re almost not allowed nothing. And also the sign says don’t stop, continue. Exactly. So straight just got to keep going. So we almost finished. Full route of the Machu Picchu. How do you feel? Feel nice. Childhood dream come true. Is it? How happy is it? How you expect? I guess like, you know, nothing can be perfectly like expectation, I guess. Of course, the weather, if it’s going to be cooler, will be more ideal because now it’s a little bit tough. But otherwise the view itself. Yeah, it’s kind of exceeded my expectation. It is just that beautiful. I honestly, when I saw picture, I didn’t know the Machu Picchu is that big place where you can walk like for many hours. I thought it’s only like one place where you can come take photo and leave this trip. For me, it’s like a tick off on my bucket list. And now we can change wallpaper. We can change one for you, one for me, and change to Patagonia. What about my dream? Yes, your dream too. Otherwise we become your dream. Always, Always dream happen. What about my dream? Not true. Your dream happens. Maltipoo. Maltipoo. Yeah, we’ll see. We’ll see. You know, sometimes when you design something like you visualize like A wish map. Very likely it will come true. And so far it has happened a lot for Alina. She’s got a wish map in Russia and I’ve got a wish map desktop on my computer. And look at where we are now. So that’s why always guys dream and put visualization like a picture that you dream about. Especially now with AI can always do everything. Yeah. And it will somehow subconsciously motivate you to do the things that you want to do. Just when we’re leaving, it suddenly start raining. And that’s when it happened. We looked up and saw the most beautiful rainbows we’ve ever seen. Wow. Rainbow. Wow. Rainbow. Wow. So pretty. And then we realized that it isn’t just one, but there are two of them. And because we up in the mountains, the rainbows felt like to be right in front of us that we can almost touch it. Do I need to open my mouth now? Let’s go. Wait, wait, wait. So that’s it for this episode. Guys. I hope you’ve enjoyed our adventure in Machu Picchu. Because we really enjoyed. And it was Justin’s dream and my place that I want to visit for long time too. And I can finally change wallpaper. Cuz I was like I’m not changing wallpaper until I’ve come to this place and put an actual photo. It took us one year to achieve this dream. Yes. So this is telling you every dream is possible as long as you visualize it and you actually work on it. So don’t forget to put like comment and subscribe to our channel if you not subscribe yet. And see you guys next time. Next time is going to be even tougher because we’re going to go check out the Rainbow Mountains here. Here in Peru. I’m so scared. It’s 5000m above ground. So it’s going to be really tough and challenging. Okay, don’t spoil it. See you in the next one. Bye.

Well done. Thanks for sharing.
There are several colectivos to Ollantaytambo. That guy wasn't try to scam you. They are particular cars ( privately own) and have different parting places.
You were lucky to catch that double rainbow
Hello guys. Firstly, thank you so much for Peru series. I have been following you since last year when I was searching for videos about Vietnam. And a few months after watching your videos about Vietnam, I traveled there. And now when I have been looking for Peru videos I found yours like it is the recent updates. Your videos are detailed informative and showing different sides of the place. I would like to ask you make a video about ticket itinerary, how many days are enough for one city etc. Love from Azerbaijan 🤗❤
Good evening ❤❤❤ Hi I am from Bangladesh ❤❤❤ Nice vlog ❤❤❤
I'm so happy to see that he fulfilled his dream, it's so adorable, but it was an epic dream come true! Yay!
Thanks for visited my country 😃
Also, you can’t see Machu Pichu city from the bottom as they were hiding from the Spanish army way back in the day.
Nice video!! Thanks!
hi guys, Peruvian guy here, thanks for the video and visiting my country. About the perfectly cut rocks in machu pichu there's a myth about it:
"A common myth surrounding Inca masonry suggests that they used a bird's saliva, or a plant found by birds, to soften rocks, allowing them to shape stones for their impressive structures like those at Machu Picchu and Cusco"
They thought me this in history class in peru , pretty fascinating
I wonder if you will do the lines of Nazca as well, I believe that was close to Paracas, though I don't remember. Anyways, great vibes guys! I'm glad you were able to fulfill your dream Justin!
Awesome beautiful nature Peru😍nice video as always lovely couple. thanks❤️❤️
Awesome!
Perfect weather and nice vlog!
Wow that was epic! Glad you two were able to make it without reserving it earlier. Those views in person must've been amazing!
es impresionante ver con tus propios ojos machupichu, parece un sueño. El año pasado fui por segunda vez 🙂
I really like this alpaca hoodie! Did you get this in Peru?
I went to Macchu Picchu back in 2001. It was way way WAY more wild then when it came to seeing the place. Everything was paper, no online booking, nothing. I took the Inca Trail hike for three days, and got there at 4AM, ran through the mist to the top of Huayna Picchu, where I immediately took a nap. There were none of the restrictions back then, but there also was way less people visiting the ruins. Then I hiked down to the Temple of the Moon on the otherside, before finally exploring the rest of the ruins. All the stuff you guys have on video did not exist when I was there. It's crazy how much Cuzco and Macchu Picchu has changed since I was last there!
Debe ser una experiencia tan hermosa estar ahí
You made You dream come true. How wonderful. Thanks for all your troubles. At my age I would never be able to go through what you both have so I am grateful I get to see your dream and Machu Pichu from my lounge room. What wonderful memories you will have when you get old. ❤❤
….and you didn’t make it to Huayna Picchu. The best view of the Old City is from Huayna.
did you get to try guinea pig, Justin? did it taste like chicken? haha–everything exotic seems to taste like chicken (crocodile, frog, alligator, snake, etc)
I would actually like to see some unrestored ruins in Machu Picchu just to have an idea of what it looked like when it was discovered
but Alina, if you get a big, big house and a maltipoo, it'll be difficult to travel and leave them behind
