Hello, I’m Inomata from Neige. This is a channel where I post travel and daily vlogs. The video I’m introducing today is the final video in my Europe series, bringing you a glimpse of my stay in Helsinki before returning to Japan . Last time, I introduced the Marimekko outlet near the airport, but this time I’ll introduce the Marimekko headquarters outlet, which is a classic route. I’ve also included detailed information on getting there from the station, so please take a look if you’re interested. I didn’t do any sightseeing in Helsinki this time, so if you’d like to know more, please refer to my previous post about my 2023 trip. Also, in the second half of the video, I’ll explain how the seven flights with the cheap suitcase I introduced previously turned out , so I hope you’ll enjoy the journey with me until the end. Before we get into the main part of the video, I’d like to introduce some Helsinki transportation apps. It’s easier to download this in Japan than once you arrive , so I’d like to briefly explain how to purchase it. Please bear with me for a moment before diving into the main content. First, open the HSL icon on the search screen. This will take you to a screen where you can skip ahead to create an account , but you don’t need to. Check this screen for guest access. It asks you where you want to go, like this . This is Helsinki Central Station, so you can select it from the map at Central Station. So, select it from here and use it as your starting point. For example, if you’re going to Marimekko , you can type “H” around here, and it will say Herttoniemi, and it will say something like this . It will also tell you the approximate time it will take, like 31 minutes, or 16 minutes, and it will also show bus routes , so if you select “Let’s go this way,” it will show something like this . The approximate cost is also written as AB on the ticket, so if you’re just sightseeing around Helsinki then the AB ticket is fine, but if you’re going to the airport then you ‘ll need an ABC ticket, so you’ll need to buy both tickets at the same time. I often make the mistake of buying tickets in a very inefficient way, for example there is a single ticket . If you don’t board the train without a ticket and the prosecutor gets on and asks to see your ticket, and you don’t have one, you’ll have to pay a fine of 100 euros , so to make sure you don’t get this wrong it says “buy on time” , and the ticket’s validity starts from the time you buy it, so I usually try to buy it just before getting on the train . If you buy a ticket after boarding the train when Wi-Fi or other access is unstable then you will be subject to the fine mentioned earlier, so if you’re worried then I recommend starting the process about 5 minutes before you board . If you have time then it’s fine to start earlier. For example, there are AB and ABC tickets. The adult fare is currently 3.2 euros, which is the amount you can use per ticket. Children are half price. Payment is typically by credit card, so the card screen will appear like this. JCB cards are rarely accepted overseas, so Visa or MasterCard are the standard. American Express is also accepted. I don’t buy tickets, so I’ll just go back once. There are multi-journey tickets and day tickets, which you should choose if you’re traveling for a long period of time. Single tickets are basically for those who want to go only to a certain place today, or just to get around the area, within the time it takes to transfer between trams. Multi-journey tickets (buy 10 or 20) are used when you want to purchase 10 separate tickets . They’re like a 10-ticket coupon. There are also day tickets. I think this is a popular choice. Should I buy a 1-day AB ticket, a 1-day ABC ticket, or a 2-day ticket? This time, when I left the airport for Helsinki, it was 1 AM, so I bought a 1-day ABC zone ticket. From the airport, I went into the city, which allowed me to ride the tram, train, and bus all day. After that, the AB zone ticket changes. The 1-day ticket is 2-day tickets, but when I opened the 1-day ticket the day after I purchased it, it was 12 euros. If it became 2-day tickets, it became 18 euros. Please take a closer look. If you buy a 3-day ticket, it becomes 24 euros. It’s like saving a day. When I bought my ticket, I noticed that half the price of each day was added the day after I bought the 1-day ticket, so I concluded that it’s more economical to buy a single day at a time rather than splitting it into separate days. Please use this as a reference. I definitely recommend downloading it while you’re in Japan before your trip. Today, I headed to Marimekko from my hotel . I headed to Marimekko headquarters. I got off on what seemed like a deserted highway, but I followed Google Navigation. I’m taking the train now. I’m worried I’ll get lost if I get off in a place like this. Navigation is helping me. I wonder if I’ll make it safely . Finally, I arrived. Good. Surprisingly, it might be a good connection. I arrived at the metro station. I arrived at Hutt 2 station. I think I’m reading it correctly, but I think it’s probably the exit you’re heading in if you’re coming from Helsinki. I wonder if I can get there right. I take the escalator and exit at Exit A, which is pretty easy to find . It’s a short walk from the station, and it’s like crossing an overpass from here. The other side is the bus terminal , so it’s not too far off if you exit at Exit B. Next, you’ll be on the other side, where there are a lot of buses, so you’ll make a big detour from here and cross the road all the way. I’ve been here twice, so this is my third time, so I’ve memorized it. You cross the highway like this. It’s probably easier to cross the main road on the left. Marimekko is on the left, and Nori Studio is there. I’m staying at Marmi, and they also have it here. If you stay here, you can go there as much as you want. The rooms are amazing, they’re spacious, and it was great. I just went straight from where I came . You’ll see McDonald’s on the right , and the outlet is over there. While traveling, I’ve noticed that YouTube is easy to understand and convenient for videos, but when I travel abroad, I have to save a lot of data. I usually focus on blogging, and while YouTube has become just as popular, I also write detailed travel blogs. When I write a blog, I can search for it locally, take screenshots, and find it even when there’s no signal . I hope people will use my blog in the same way . Since I often do videos and photos at the same time, I’m a little busy with my smartphone and camera, but it’s a hobby, so I hope you’ll bear with me . Early in the morning, there are a lot of people walking towards Marimekko , so I think it’s relatively easy to find the way. I’m almost there. With Rakuten Mobile, I get 2GB of free international data, so I plan to use it from June 1st until the 8th when I return home . I’m trying to save a lot of data, but if I just do normal searches and do n’t check Instagram or anything like that, 400GB will save me even more. If I save even more on Wi-Fi and other things locally, it should last about a week . I think it’s fine to use it like that . I’m worried about getting an overseas SIM card, but I think it’s better to have more than one if you’re a beginner . I use Google Navigation quite a bit. I’m almost there. So, I’ve finally arrived. I came here last year, and I’m always excited from the entrance . The displays here are amazing. They have green Marimekko. I saw it at Eurokangas, but I think the price might be about the same. It’s cute, 55 euros. I want some regular fabric, too. I wonder if the fabrics are cheaper than yesterday. There’s definitely a wider selection here, but some are cheaper and some aren’t, so it’s hard to say. I’m also buying some thin fabric for a skirt just looking around. My fabric collection is growing again. I bought a lot, so I can’t afford to buy much, but I bought laminated coated fabric in 1 meter increments. The strawberry one is cute. I ended up shopping again. This time, I mainly bought laminated fabric. I had it packed small because I plan to carry it with me. I was just planning to take a quick look, but I got hungry, so I decided to have some . I’m excited. I had my belongings reduced in size, so I put it in an eco bag. Next time, I’ll make sure I don’t forget anything on the bus. My day ticket expires in an hour and a half, so I’ll try to be a little more efficient . I’d like to relax here for about 30 minutes. All the plates are the same, which gets me excited. I had this as dessert, coffee, and soup for lunch . You can take as much salad as you want. I saw this napkin yesterday and it was so cute. I was also looking for a green mug, but although it was on display, it’s not used in the restaurant . I had to go to the shop. That was a bit disappointing. I had high hopes, but a seat opened up, so I moved over. The cushion covers are super cute, and the view is amazing. I’ll take it easy for a bit. I was actually planning to go to a soup place in the market, but I have another one tomorrow, so I’ll enjoy it tomorrow . I’m just about ready for the 2:27pm ticket, which seems like it’ll be usable . The boat leaves at 2:20pm. If I can make it, I’ll make it, so I’ll buy a ticket on the way back. It’s a bit hard to see because of the backlight. It keeps going round and round like this. They check you. There were quite a few police officers there. I was in a hurry and didn’t take any pictures of the market, but maybe I’ll be able to if I come back. It’s bustling . I’ve already circled Suomerina Island once last time, so I think I’ll just relax and have a coffee this time. But I just had a drink, so I thought I’d take a look at the beach and relax. Tickets are available everywhere, and you can pay with credit card. I use Visa and MasterCard. They don’t check my ticket, but most people have it, right? Having a smartphone app is super convenient. Last time, I went to Marimekko from here, but this time I took the opposite route. It was hot, so I went inside. It was already inside, and once I got to the top, I was completely sunburned. On the other side is the sauna. This time, I enjoyed the sauna at the hotel, which I can use every day. We arrived on Suomenlinna Island. There were a lot of people waiting to ride. I came to the Ferris wheel. The sound of the waves was soothing. This time, I’m staying four nights, so I’m taking it easy. I’ve been visiting mostly places I couldn’t go to last time, but I’m flying back tomorrow, so I’m going to enjoy it . First, I went to the church. There’s a 5 euro entrance fee. Last time, I saw someone inside, so I could see it, but the door was closed, so I couldn’t see inside. I went to Suomenlinna Church, and I think it was free before, but it seems it costs 5 euro to go inside . I wish the door had been open, but it was closed. This souvenir shop is so cute. Finally, I’ve finally made it to the entrance for socks. It’s 3:15 PM now. I arrived here at 2:40 PM, so it’s been over 30 minutes. Last time, I circled the island in an hour. I’m not rushing, but I think it might feel like this if I take it easy. I think two hours would be more comfortable. I also introduced Sumerinna Tower in last year’s video, so if you’d like to know more, please check that out. It’s a little dark inside and hard to see, but it looks like this. I wonder if people in the past saw it like this. They didn’t plan their route at all, so they didn’t plan to come here, so it looks like it might be burned. There are also houses on Sumerinna Island. It feels like people actually live here. There are also beautiful flowers. I walked here, so it might be a long way. Cute flowers. What kind of flowers are they? I wonder what kind of flowers they are? A tour group followed me here. I didn’t come here last time. I wonder if that black area here opens up and connects to the sea . I think this boat will be used for that purpose. But there’s an old boat there. Maybe it’s just stored there now. The explanation isn’t in English, so I don’t understand it at all. I wonder if this is the black place I saw just now. I think the place where the boat was parked is around here . It’s so peaceful. There’s someone playing guitar nearby at such perfect timing. Nice background music, I ‘m grateful. My trip to Helsinki is now over, the whole process is over, and tomorrow I’ll be leaving for Japan . It’s been a long, long journey. I’m really glad I ended my trip in Helsinki. It’s a shame that there are people smoking, but if you look past that, it’s a really beautiful country with an abundance of nature. It’s a country that makes me want to come back. So, since I don’t know when I’ll be able to film again, I think I’ll film it here. I thought I’d say a final word. The travel video began with a transit at Singapore Changi Airport. I’m sure there are those of you who have been following my travel videos since then, as well as those who just happened to come across my videos, but thank you so much for watching this video all the way to the end. I learned that editing videos while traveling is not that easy. I love traveling, so I often watch videos by travel YouTubers, and I think it’s a truly amazing job . I was so grateful to the people who regularly watch my YouTube videos, follow me on Instagram , and watch my videos, who reached out to me and shared their experiences with me on this trip . I think it’s truly miraculous that I was able to arrive safely without any problems on a flight I booked myself . Also, I haven’t finished my trip yet, but I was able to safely travel without any stolen belongings, including my laptop, the camera I’m currently using, and my smartphone, and all of my other valuables, and I think the best thing is that none of them were stolen . I caught a cold, which is the worst disease you can ever get, which was a bit of a blow, but I think it was probably COVID. After the fever went down, I just had a sore throat, and other than that I was able to get through without any problems, so I think it was good . I was a bit nervous in Morocco, and it was my first time there, so I was a bit nervous about a lot of things, but having traveled to so many countries , I really think Japan is a wonderful country, but as an island nation, there aren’t many people who are open-minded . So when I think about starting something or trying something new, I first think about what other people will think, which is a bit frustrating for me personally, but when I talk to people overseas, I think there are a lot of people who have strong opinions and strong opposing opinions, and I think that if you come here and haven’t traveled abroad yet, you’ll probably find that no matter which country you go to, it’s probably very open-minded. What I noticed was people meeting for the first time talking to each other. They looked like they were having so much fun. And because of that, there are so many friendly people who become friends within five minutes . I’ve really felt this when I’ve traveled to various countries, not just Europe. It’s also really good to be able to speak English. Speaking English allows you to communicate, but I struggle to remember my broken English, so I’m not putting in enough effort. So, when I start traveling again, I want to improve my English conversation skills a little more. I’m just thinking about it and not making any progress, but the timing of the background music was perfect and it really helped. It was a great time to chill. It was just a coincidence that they pulled me there . I’m about to head back to the ship. Thank you to everyone who enjoyed my travel videos. I’m going to look for dinner tonight. I’ll go shopping and then head back to the hotel. I wonder if I can find something tasty . It’s 5 o’clock now, so I think they’re closing up. Maybe I’ll go to the soup place tomorrow. It looks delicious. I want to eat it. I can’t bring food back to Japan. This place is probably busy, and there was an old man taking pictures in front of me. This guy is scary. I can really feel his presence . This place is open until 4 o’clock, but it closes when the soup runs out. It closes pretty early. I’ll go early tomorrow . I shopped at this shop this time . I thought takeout would be 10 euros, but it was 5 euros. I wonder why it’s 10 euros . Walking from the market square, you get this view. Nice view. I think I made a mistake with the day ticket. If you buy a one-day train ticket, it ‘s half price from the second day onwards, but I didn’t realize that and just bought a single ticket. What a waste. I made the same mistake last time, and I haven’t learned my lesson at all. I’ll buy some beer later . K City Market, a large supermarket near the hotel, sells sauna equipment and yarn. I guess people here are more into that kind of thing. I recently spoke with someone from the Finnish Embassy and heard that it’s also good for your mental health. Apparently it’s been proven neuroscience-wise. Even though it’s called therapy, it’s a bit pricey. And with the weak yen, everything seems expensive. I thought I wouldn’t find any souvenirs here, since Japanese snacks like Hi-Chew cost 3 euros and 15 cents, but they had Marimekko, a brand Finns shop for. These strawberries are so cute! I’ve been interested in them lately, and I just bought some fabric. And it was only 11 euros. It’s probably cheaper than the outlets, where they don’t sell them. They didn’t have this at the outlets. They also had Iittala and Arabia tableware. I wasn’t planning on buying any tableware this time, but with the weak yen, I tried not to make any calculations. I had to use a calculator for video editing, and once I realized the reality, I couldn’t afford it. Last time, I had to calculate it after I got back, which was a bit of a problem. This time, I got excited because it was 10 euros, so I put a lot of things in my basket, but at the register I was told it was a members-only price. Someone around me who heard me helped me out and bought the items for me. I had to go back to the hotel once to get my card, but I managed to shop safely . Once again, the locals helped me out. Thank you so much. These are the sardines I bought at the market and the lemon I was given. There were no seeds in them. I’ll eat them together. It’ll be my last dinner. The Heineken was non-alcoholic. I didn’t even notice. It’s delicious. I ate it last year too, but it was dark inside the market, so I couldn’t see, but it was a really tiny fish and delicious. 5 euros for this amount is cheap . I think I’ll just eat the lemon as it is. It looks delicious, and apparently it’s lemon from the garden. It seems like it’s not allowed to bring it back to Japan, so I’ll just eat it as it is. Thank you for the meal. I packed all the fabric I bought in compression bags like this. Laminated materials can’t be compressed like this, so they just get flattened in the bag, but I’ll take them home. With the compressed items inside, it took up about half of my suitcase, maybe half of one side. I’ll pack my clothes on top of this. It was so relaxing. I really enjoyed it, and I’d love to stay here again. It’s far from the city, though. It’s about a 15-minute train ride from Central Station. Now, I’m heading back to Japan. I stayed on the 14th floor, so the climate was good and it was a great place. I was able to rent a hair dryer here, but it seemed a little broken, so I used it in the sauna. I’m glad I brought a spare. It has casters, so it’s easy to move, and I plan to remove them when I check it in. Even after checking out , I can still use the lobby and kitchen, so I just made some coffee. They have milk and other things, which I bought earlier. I’m going to have this for lunch today. I just finished editing and uploaded my Morocco video. The Wi-Fi is a bit weak here, so it took a while, but I wanted to finish Morocco before I head home, so I’m glad I did. It has a really open feel, a lovely place, with a restaurant in the back, and a kitchen across from it. People often play billiards here . I used to play billiards when I was 20 years old on a working holiday in Australia . It brings back memories. I’m thinking of relaxing a little longer like this and then leaving around 2:00. It’s 12:30 now. I’ll leave around 2:00, so I have an hour and a half until my ticket time, so I’ll buy a ticket to the airport, go to Helsinki Central Station, and see that I haven’t been inside Kamppi Chapel yet, so I’m thinking of coming back and heading to the airport. The weather in Helsinki today is pretty bad, though. It’s cloudy. It was such beautiful weather yesterday, but it looks like it’s about to rain. I hope I can get to the airport before it rains. I checked out. I have two bags. The elevator at the station is broken, so I’ll have to leave on my own. My train is in 10 minutes, so I’m almost there. I’ll arrive at the airport. It’s on the edge here, but there’s a place to apply for a tax refund. They didn’t check inside, but I think it’s a good idea to show it just in case. I’m planning to stay in the lounge for a while again. It’s 5:40 PM now. My flight is now 8 PM, so it’s 30 minutes late. I hope I can get in. I wonder what it will be like since I can barely use the lounge this time. Immigration was pretty empty, so I hope I can get in. But something happened at the last minute. I can’t believe it. I was headed to Munich, but it was 30 minutes late. My flight was 30 minutes late, too. I was headed to Munich, but it seems like I’m heading to a different city . I’ll leave a video for the record. Even if I ask the flight attendant, they say they won’t give me any information until I arrive there, so what should I do? I’ve only just arrived, and the lights are off. I checked Google Maps around 9:30 tonight, and it looks like we’re heading to Nuremberg. I wonder what’s going to happen . I was really surprised to get off at the last minute . It’s 1 o’clock now , and it’s the first time this has happened, so I have no idea what’s going on. I was hoping I could stay at a different hotel, but it seems like I can’t leave the airport. Some people were on the plane until 4 a.m., and since I’m leaving at 12 o’clock tomorrow, I should be fine, but it seems the only place I can sleep is at the airport. I’ll try to find a good seat somehow. This is a rare experience . Good morning. Morning has arrived. Yesterday, I used a lot of blankets, so I slept with them on my lower back, but it hurts. It’s 7 o’clock now, and I think I slept quite a bit. I’m finally heading home . It’s been a long, month-long journey. Thank you for watching until the end. I’m heading back to Japan. I’ve come quite a long way, and I think I’ll have a beer there. So, what did you think of the Helsinki video? Thank you for watching this Europe travel series, which I’ve been releasing two videos a week, all the way to the end. This time, I was able to relax on Suomerina Island and take a leisurely stay in Helsinki, which I wasn’t able to do last time, so it was a very enjoyable month-long European trip. However, even though I’d had no problems up until then, I ended up having to stay overnight at the airport during my return flight . Solo travel is always going to bring some kind of trouble, so I’m glad I was able to return home safely. I had lightened my luggage when I came here, but on the way back, as expected, my luggage doubled due to the fabrics I’d collected in the countries I visited. With ANA’s award miles, you can check two bags of 23kg each. So I was very grateful for that. From next time, I will start with the Switzerland and Italy edition, and I have re-edited this long journey, and I would like to look back on things like luggage, credit cards, safety, travel clothing, preparations, budgets, etc. , and also introduce how I usually plan my trips, so if you like, please continue to subscribe to my channel and I would be happy if you watch my new videos. In fact, I am also making progress in planning my autumn trip, so if you enjoyed this video, I would be very encouraged if you could support me by clicking the like button. See you on the next trip!
