Ancient Hindu Temple in Thailand | Thailand Vlog

The Hinduism that is present here is around 0.1%. There are around 35,000 temples to see in the whole of Thailand. Visiting all the temples is almost next to impossible. But I will try to visit Bangkok, which is the capital. Some of the most famous Hindu temples here are also called ancient temples. I will definitely try to show them to you all. Statues of all the gods and goddesses are kept there. Look at this, Lord Ganesha, Bharat Vidyalaya, literally, O Namaste, Namaste , Jai Shri Krishna. I am Acharya Om Hari Sharma from Shri Vishnu Mandir, Bangkok. Good morning and welcome back to my new blog . I am Ansh and right now I am in the biggest and largest city and capital of Thailand, Bangkok, which is called the third largest city of South East Asia. In terms of population, Bangkok city holds a population of around 11 million and is the 33rd largest city in the world in terms of population. And this is the first impression, first look of this capital city of Thailand, Bangkok. You can see the morning bustle. So right now it is not early morning but around 12:30 in the afternoon and today my day is starting quite late. So guys, in this video I am going to cover the whole Thailand country, especially the city of Bangkok because right now I am here, so in Bangkok, I am going to show you Hindu temples, Hindu colony, Hindu market, all these things in this video . So do watch the video till the end. So let’s go from here, first of all someone is showing me a small temple on the net. Let’s go there and see what experience we get. So you can see all these areas where I am staying. In the whole country of Thailand, we will get to see around 35,000 temples. Visiting all the temples is almost next to impossible. But I will try Bangkok which is the capital. Some of the most famous Hindu temples here are also called ancient temples. I will definitely try to show them to all of you. So, these are all the areas, man, see them. It looks quite beautiful, isn’t it? This side is completely park type. They have planted trees etc. everywhere. You will see a lot of greenery in the whole of Thailand. Even specially when I am in Bangkok, I can see it here as well and the colour combination of the buildings on this side is very lovely, see the roof top of most of the houses is almost the same and how many 1 2 3 4 5 6 all the houses are completely adjacent to each other just like the houses in our India are adjacent. And some are pink, some are blue, some are white, green. You will also get to see many unique colour combinations of houses here in terms of infrastructure wise. So guys, if we talk religion wise, then you all know that Thailand is a purely Buddhist country, where around 92.5% Buddhist people live. And Hinduism here is around 0.1%. That is, if we talk about Hindus in the whole of Thailand, then according to this source, the number is around 85,000, which is around 0.1% of the population of the whole country. You can believe that Hinduism is in minority here. And if we talk about overall Indians in Thailand, then around 2 lakh Indians are present here in Thailand and among them also some are mostly migrants who immigrated later. And the Hinduism population here, the Hindu population, mainly, is the largest majority in Thailand, which you will find area-wise, that is Bangkok itself, the second is called Chonburi area, the third is Phuket, these three cities are where you will find most Hindus, where those people still live. Among them also, if we talk about the Indian community, which is mostly Hindu, then most of them are Namdhari, Sikhs, that is, Punjabi people, Sindhi people, Marwaris. People of Gorakhpur have been living here since the beginning. I will tell you the reason behind it later . There are Tamils, there are many people from South India. So you will get to see mixed people. And there are two types of Hindus found in Thailand. One Thai Hindu and one Indian Hindu. Both of them have an interesting history which I will visit a little further by going to the temple first. After that, I am going to tell you this deep detailed history related to Hinduism about Thailand country. Because at one time in Thailand, the majority used to be of Hindu people and today But Buddhism is the most prevalent here. While walking, you can see a very beautiful Buddhist temple. If you look at its design and architecture , you will find the most craftsmanship in the same way as in all the Buddhist temples in Thailand. Look , the idol of Lord Buddha is also printed here. It is built and it is a very big temple. Its back part is quite big. So friend , our first place for today is going to be Dev Temple or you can also call it Dev Temple of Hindu society, which is very close to my hosting place. Talking about the location, it is the Khlongong area which I told you about or the metro station called Som Yat. You may be staying anywhere. Metro station Som Yat may be appearing on the display if I am not able to pronounce it correctly. Check it in Google Map after coming there. You will get the location. And this is its first impression, first look of our Hindu temple. You will see a beautiful temple in front and Om Shastik is also built there. So we will go inside and bow down and I will show you the whole temple now. Rest you can see outside here because it is a temple, so these are some local Thai people, whereas these people sell garlands, flowers and all these things here for offering as prasad . And both are grandmothers actually. Namaste grandmother. So if you want to offer some flowers etc. then you can purchase from here. So you can see in front, it is written Shreedev Mandir and above it is a very cute and beautiful temple, a combination of white and yellow color and the flag of Thailand country Om our flag is written and on one side there is a swastika symbol. It is a very cute and beautiful temple. The temple is actually located on the third floor. And this place actually has a school here too, whose name is Bharat Vidyalaya. Literally, when you go to any foreign country and find the name of your country written in Hindi like this, it is a proud moment. You can see this entire complex. This is actually a school whose name is Bharat Vidyalaya. I will show you later. But before entering, I think that Saraswati Devi ji is Vind Vasuni. So this small temple of her has been built here. So you can come and bow down here first. Then you can go inside and visit the temple for darshan. Yaar, just now in the school, as soon as I was about to enter the temple, I met Pandit ji. Pandit ji, your name? Your name? Pandit Jaishankar Tiwari. Jaishankar Tiwari ji. Okay, okay. Let’s meet Jaishankar ji and see properly, now in Thailand also, look, he is wearing dhoti, kurta and everything . So this is a very good thing. Thank you. I am getting to see only Thai children. So this is also a very good thing. I don’t know that the education here is in the Thai language, it is obvious that they will be taught in the Thai language. So these are all the children who come here for studies. There are teachers etc. Oh Namaste Namaste. Namaste Namaste. You speak Hindi and English Nepal Nepal Oh so you can speak Nepali? Or and where are you from? I am from Nepal but I have come to this high school. So they are from Nepal but have come here to study . And you are from here right? Or are you Thai? Or okay okay. So which class? Six grade two. Six grade two. Or you all are? Or. Okay. Okay. So right now it’s lunch time, right? It’s a break time. Or. It’s a break time. Okay. Hello [Music] [Music] So guys, I am just coming out after having darshan inside this temple. So the experience inside was very good. I felt very nice. There was actually a very peaceful environment inside and the ambiance was also very lovely, very beautiful, you can say that it was a fully carpeted temple, there was carpet laid inside and you must be seeing that inside this temple, along with Lord Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, you can worship Ganesh Ji, Bajrangbali, Radha Krishna and other different Gods and Goddesses, Shivling. Here, there are idols and statues of Lord Krishna and Ram Ram, Laxman, Sita Ji, Pawansu Hanuman, Bajrangbali and many other Gods and Goddesses. You must be seeing some clips where local Thai people, who are Thai Hindus, come here and bow their heads and do Puja. And anyway, this entire temple is called such that people of every religion can come and do Puja here. Like ours It is in Sanatan Dharma. Anyone can come. No one is prohibited. As of now, what I have experienced here is that local Thai people, Thai Hindus, come here a lot. Actually, this whole complex is under the Indian Hindu Association. So the temple is a Hindu temple and the school below is a Thai school. Actually, the studies here are mostly in Thai language, Chinese language and English language, I think. Mainly Thai and English. And but the children of Indian Hindus or Thai Hindus who have been living here since the beginning, come here and study. And the lower part of the school, which you must be seeing, is actually donated here because of the school. So that is why children come here to study. All the teachers etc. are local. The children are also almost local. But some Indian Hindus who are ours like Punjabis, Namdhari, Sikhs, there are many people from Gorakhpur. There are many Tamil, South Indian people. So their children have also been living here since the beginning . You will see their children studying here from fourth generation to generation. Rest, studies were still going on downstairs. I met the priest upstairs who belongs to Himachal Pradesh Shimla. He also told me a little history. Pandit ji told me that this temple is more than 100 years old. If anyone knows how old it is actually, please tell me by commenting. So I also bowed my head, did the puja and sat inside for a while and the priest gave me prasad laddu etc. and some more prasad. So I said that I do not eat much sweets etc. But I accepted banana from there as prasad . So I wanted to show this to you people also. So this was our friend the first Hindu temple of today which is located in this part of Bangkok. Now there is another temple a little far from here which is said to be a very old and ancient religious temple. Come, I will take you there. [Music] Guys, just from the Dev Temple, I think if you walk 100 meters or 200 meters hardly, you will find the Shri Vishnu Temple here . Look here, Om Sik and Lord Vishnu’s idol is seated there. You will get to see the Om Sik symbol. And the temple is almost like the Hindu temples of our India, its shape, its form and infrastructure wise it has been built the same. And it is very lovely, very beautiful. Look inside, there are different types of offerings. Let me try to show you once after walking a little inside. And this is a local Thai grandmother. I think she takes care of this temple. And if you want to offer some prasad etc. then you can come here and purchase the stuff. Like look here, there is a lota etc., garlands and flowers. All these things are fruits etc. and prasad, I think this is Thai Hindu grandmother who takes care of this race here. Rest garlands, flowers, prasad, all these things are present here. So in this way you will get to see two ponds. Look at this peepal tree also, you will get to see it here. So the peepal tree has a different form. So this is a Tulsi tree. You can see there is a Tulsi tree here. There are incense sticks etc. here. Deepak Dayali is lit here. If you look on this side, there is a donation box. If you want to donate something here. Rest here there are dustbins etc. See here also people come to pay obeisance. There is also a banana tree planted here. So it is planted in a pot. But they have planted it. It is a small temple. But this entire divider part is a garden type footpath and this entire temple is built in the middle of it. The peepal tree looks like it has been planted recently and that is why its height is very small. But the peepal tree itself plays a very important role. You all must know about it. So it felt good here and next to it there is a very big Buddhist temple. I will show you this from the front and a park is visible in front. Let me show you something there. So guys, you must be seeing this very lovely and beautiful Thai Buddhist temple in front . Its architecture is amazing, man. I mean you can see it and the photo of the king and queen of Thailand is placed here in front. You can see it. Rest Thailand has been a part of the monarchy. I might have told you in some of the previous videos that in Thailand there is a constitutional monarchy from absolute monarchy and There is a parliamentary democracy in the present time. So because of this, you will still find photos of the King and Queen everywhere, mainly in temples, buildings, infrastructures. Similar to what I told you about Bhutan. In the same way, you must be seeing this very beautiful, very lovely white yellow golden coloured temple, very lovely and this is a very big park, a roundabout intersection where a lot of people come here for sightseeing, tourists I think. This historical landmark is visible in front as well . What does this mean? I am not able to understand this. If anyone of you knows, please tell me by commenting. It is completely pillar type. Now I don’t know whether this is related to Buddhism or something else. Look, if you want to do a city tour in Bangkok, you have to do hop in hop off like this, buses are also available here for city side scene tour, this is early morning time, so this is the traffic of Bangkok and vehicles etc. People have left for their work, brother, the heat is too much, my shirt is literally wet. I am sweating so much here because the temperature is showing around 30°. 32° almost but feels like 38° because the humidity is very high in Bangkok, Thailand . There is a coast area, rivers etc. Because of this you will feel all this . But the infrastructure, buildings all around this area will look very colorful, very vibrant to you. The good thing is that in all these parts you will get to see a lot of cleanliness, cleanliness, neat and clean things. So it felt very good to see all this. And look here, this is a colourful tuktuk which I think is electric because it is not emitting any smoke. And you will find everyone using this type of transport. In Thailand, people call Lord Ganesha as Fra Phikanit and Lord Shiv Shankar is called in Thai language as Phra Ishwaran and Lord Vishnu is called as Phra Narayana or Narayanana. The meaning of Phra is holy or secret or religious. That is why if you find the word Phra everywhere then you should understand that it is sacred, holy and royal and it is attached with that term. That is why all these are there. If you find the names of temples written in Thai language here and there, if it is of Ganesh ji then it will be written as Phra Pikan. If it is of Shankar ji then it will be written as Phra Ishwarayan. If it is of Lord Vishnu then it will be written as Phra Narayana or Phra Narayana. So the name of this temple is see Wat. Wat means in Thai language, I think if I am not wrong, it is called temple. And this is the full name of the temple. I am not able to pronounce it correctly. You guys tell me by commenting. Right now, it looks like a very lovely, very beautiful royal temple . Its color combination is very beautiful and you will get to see the complete Thai architecture here. Buddhism is dominating . So you will get to see beautiful temples like this everywhere. And because of this temple, look here, all these buildings that you can see, there are small souvenir shops under these buildings and especially because of the temple, there are many such shops around here where you will find statues of Lord Buddha and different gods and goddesses, where if you want to purchase, you can go and purchase. The rest of the traffic in Thailand Bangkok is as usual, you will find it like this wherever you go, in any part . So friend, now I have reached the MRT station, the timings are written and this is the MRT station here, actually the MRT station is in front, you can see buildings etc. here, you will find something like this, rest of the buses etc. friend, here you will find many different types of buses, see this in front, I think I have to take it from inside or from outside, I don’t even have an idea, but I will have to ask someone. So friend, right now I am using their public bus. Yes, there is some public transport here, so it is quite easy, but you may face some challenges in commuting . But if you navigate through Google Map, then it will be very easy for you to find out everything. So right now this is something like this, their mini bus is called this. It has one mini number. So actually there is a temple where I wanted to take you . It is showing a ride of around 40 to 50 minutes and for which I paid. 10 Thai Baht i.e. around 26-27 in Indian currency and the bus is something like this. So as I told you that every mode of transport is available here in Thailand, you will not face any problem and this is exactly like the local buses in India, it is similar to this Suzuk brand, rest of it is MMA. One more thing I noticed here is that maximum of the bus drivers are ladies and the conductor is also a lady. Even yesterday in all the buses I rode, I saw maximum number of people working were girls and women. So I liked it a lot. For now the bus is ordinary. There are two sides. I am sitting on this side and there too. There is a single seat here. [Music] So guys this was our local bus which I tried and this is the bus stop where I have come. So this is a complete commercial area. You can see this in the main Silom area of Bangkok which is known for its business area. So here you will find big buildings like this . And look at the colours, they are white, blue, etc. There is a very big hotel here as well. Look in front as well, if I zoom in a little and show you, you will find big buildings, hotels and flats like this here . So guys, first of all, look at this , the national flag of our country India and on the side is the flag of Thailand and in front is the religious flag and here is the famous temple which is present inside Bangkok in the Shillong Road area, i.e. the business commercial area, which is known as Shri Mahamariamman Temple. Its other name is also Hindi, which is also called Maha Uma Devi Temple by the local people here and this temple was built by the people of the Indian community around the time of 1879. The temple was built keeping in mind the complete South Indian style architecture. Its layout, design, architecture was built using the Chola and Palava architecture, which are like South Indian temples. And as I told you, 150 years was built in 1879. It was built by South Indian people. Because of this, you can also see the architecture of this South Indian temple. And mainly, people from Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu state of South India built this temple. And you can also see its entire premises. It is quite big. This is the front part. If you go to the back, you will also see a little of its back part. Now I will take you inside and show you and I will also do Darshan etc. It is said to be a very ancient temple. And this is the first Hindu temple in Bangkok which was built by the Indian community, the immigrant Indian community, 150 years ago. The temple is very lovely, very beautiful. You can see its design. So this is the timing of the temple. Monday to Thursday from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. Friday from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 am to 8:30 pm. So this is the timing. If you come, please keep this timing in mind. As I told you, this is a Hindu temple. So there are two types of Hindus here. As I told you, Thai Hindus and our Indian Hindus. All the people come here to visit this temple. For example, you see, these are locals. I think they are Thai. But they are Hindus. That is why people are gathered here to pay obeisance in this temple . All these people are standing. So the area surrounding the temple looks something like this. You can see this. If I zoom in a little and show you, this is Pullman Hotels. There are hotels on the side too. [Music] [Music] So guys, I have just come out after visiting the temple and it was a very nice, very good experience. Photography and videography is not actually allowed inside. That is why I could not show you much of the inside scene. But basically this is a South Indian temple as I told you. But you can call it a Hindu temple, an ancient Hindu temple . By the way, it is said to be 150 years old, which was built by the first immigrant Indian community, Hindus, 150 years ago, by people who came from the Thazhau district of the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, which is said to be a temple in the local language, I think it is called Wat Khaak Kar. If I am not wrong. She is worshipped in the form of Goddess Kali in South India. She is also called the form of Goddess Durga and Goddess Parvati. She is worshipped in Tamil Nadu in South India. Especially rain is worshipped as a symbol of fertility and disease prevention . If I am wrong about this also, please correct me. Whoever is watching this video from South India, especially. So the cleanliness inside this very beautiful temple is of next level. Mainly all the priests inside I saw are South Indians and here in this temple, all the Thai Buddhists, Thai Hindus and Indian Hindus, all can come and have darshan here. No one is prohibited. So inside I saw the majority of people doing puja inside the temple, all of them were Thai Buddhists and Thai Hindus who came here and gave offerings in the temple, this thing was quite nice and unique, all the people here were very nice and carrying lots of garlands, flowers, prasad, fruits, even sweets in bunches in thali etc. and standing in lines in a very nice and peaceful manner, they were engaged in puja, it is a very big temple. By the way, idols of different gods and goddesses are kept inside. Lord Vishnu, Lord Mahesh, Lord Brahma and all the other gods and goddesses, Shankar ji, Shivling etc., everything is present inside. It was very nice. And as soon as you come out of this temple, look at this, if you want to offer some prasad, like flowers, garlands, sweets, oil, coconut, etc. as prasad, everything is made in this way, you can see that there are about 15 to 20 shops here, which sell all the items related to worship, whatever is offered as offerings, people will be seen selling all those items here . I will take you a little inside this area and show you. Mostly it is lotus flower, marigold flower, rose flower. Look at all these flowers, people will be seen making garlands, etc. Oh look, this is a very cute and beautiful shop where idols of all the different gods and goddesses are kept. Look at this, Lord Ganesha, Goddess Mata, Goddess Mata here too. Wow, this is a very cute and beautiful shop and there is a shop next to it. I think Devi ji is seated here and along with these Indian clothes, I think it is lehenga, saree etc., all of them are available here. There is a local restaurant nearby. Local Thai restaurant. I think if you want to eat and drink something then you can come and eat here. All the people sitting here at the garland and flower shop, all of them are Thai people. Local Thai. Among them there are Thai Buddhists as well. There are also Thai Hindus who have opened shops here like this. So friend, it is about to be around 4:00 in the evening and we have not had lunch yet. So right here, I am showing an Indian restaurant nearby. I think in this street. So let’s go and see and eat and drink something and then I am going to show you the rest of the part of today . So the temple is in front and this small street is right next to the temple . Look here, all the street food etc. is set up. Mainly you will find most fruits here. And the quality of fruits is very good. I noticed this. You see, there are bananas, pineapples, apples, grapes etc. Mangoes are quite big here. The rest are oranges. You will find almost all fruits here. This is local street food. You can see it in front. I think, look at the line, I think it is not like the street food here. Well, there is a market inside, actually there is a whole street food. If you want to eat street food, then you can eat street food. This is one thing in Thailand. I think the concept of street food is quite wide in the whole of South East Asia. Look, there is a mosque in front. Actually [Music] it is written in front, Arya Indian Food . Now let’s go and see, it is not there. Hello it’s open or it’s open hello it’s Indian Indian restaurant yes sir pure Indian and Thai is a Punjabi Thai or ok Punjabi Thai you are Jasmine yes oh nice name so guys this was an Indian restaurant whose name is Aaria Indian Restaurant I think the first Indian restaurant where I ate and I liked the taste of the food very much and the service was also very good the staff was also very good and the taste and plenty of food and along with it starters etc. salad papad chutney curd everything that should be there with a meal they provided everything. Anyway the price is a little less as per the menu It seemed expensive. That is, the price of the main dish is on an average around ₹500 per dish, but the food was good and I enjoyed eating it. So it is about to be 4:30 in the evening and there is another temple here. I am thinking of showing that to you as well. So now let’s talk a little about Hinduism in Thailand. Hinduism came to Thailand during the time of the Khmer dynasty, the Khmer Empire. That is, from 802 CE to 1431 CE, this Khmer Empire was called one of the most powerful empires in the entire South East Asia. Hinduism was brought to Thailand by Indian traders. That is, it was an era when Hindus started coming here and since then, Hindus have been living here. Khemer Empire is also known as Angor Empire. I think inside Cambodia country, Angor Temple which I think is called the largest Hindu temple. You must have heard about it. So we will talk about that temple and these facts in detail in the series of Cambodia country. Currently, in the present time, I had to tell you that this was the time when Hinduism came to Thailand country and I told you in the beginning that there are two types of Hindus here in Thailand. One is Thai Hindu and the other is Indian Hindu. So the Thai Hindus here in Thailand had adopted Hinduism during this empire. And the Indian Hindus have been living here since around 18th and 19th century. That is, generation to generation of some people who have come and settled here. And this place which I just showed you that you are seeing the temple. This location is actually also known as Little India or Mini India . If you don’t find this temple on Google. Well, it is so famous that you will definitely find it. But you can also call it Little India. In the beginning itself, I told you that the culture of Hinduism in Thailand has been there since ancient times and especially the influence of the Sanskrit world is also very much visible in the culture of the entire Thailand country. For example, this capital city of Thailand, Bangkok. It was founded by the first king of Thailand, who was King Ramavan. His name Rama is also derived from the Sanskrit word Ramayana, that is, Lord Shri Ram. You will find this in his name as well. And the name of an ancient Thai city of Thailand, Ayodhya, which used to be the second kingdom of Thailand, is also derived from the Sanskrit world and the birthplace of our Lord Shri Ram, Ayodhya. So guys , I have just reached Sorasak area after walking. In front of me is the Sorasak metro station here . This is their MRT line in front and here also you can see that you will get to see very big high rise buildings. And there is a separate road for the metro and this foot walk cross walk has been made separately for walking. And one thing is that no matter which country it is, you will get to see the mess of wires in every country. I think 80 to 90% of the countries where you will see the mess of wires in this way. Whether you are in Thailand, India, Malaysia, Singapore, anywhere. Wow brother, the view from here is the ultimate experience, the ultimate landscape is visible, here also you can see all the big sky lines, hotels, big banks, their corporate offices, business offices, business centers, you will get to see all of them in this area. Siam area is also very popular, very well class, posh area, luxury area, all this is called Bangkok. Where you will get to see such big sky lines. Look at the traffic, I think there are almost unlimited cars and you can see every kind of car here . Look at the lines, one, two, three, four lines are only for cars here and one line is for proper two wheelers and in between we saw our taxi tuktuk as well. Everyone will be seen following the traffic rules in their own sequence . Amazing. But bikers, no matter which country it is, they always take their vehicles out in between. Look, someone is coming from there with his bike. But mainly you are seeing other vehicles as well. I like this car very much . Which brand is it? Look at this one in the middle. Which company does it belong to, tell me by commenting. Rest you can see the traffic scene here in Bangkok. I think traffic is the only thing that has made me cry in Thailand, literally. And look at this side too. I just showed you from the back side and how does Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, look from this side. So the traffic of Bangkok and the lifestyle of Bangkok, the lifestyle of big cities is almost similar to what you can see in front. So this is Surasak area. The entire business area is considered a commercial area. I showed you buildings all around and traffic congestion like this. My God. I think if you stand in the middle , you can’t even pass by. Wow friend. So it was fun to see this whole area . Now it feels like we are actually roaming in Bangkok, the way the lifestyle is here . So brother, why is Bangkok called the third largest populated city of South East Asia . When you come to Bangkok, you will also be able to see why the population is so high. You will see crowds everywhere. Look in front, there is a very big LED. There is Honda’s I think showroom in front of you on all sides . There is a big mall here. I think this is a mall which has Panda’s I think branding. Something like this is written. Look at this side, there are big skylines . If I show you a little bit on this side, then these are all old houses. All the houses that you see in front are not old quarter type. You will see something like that. If you look at other places, you will find writing in both English and Thai language everywhere. All these bikers, you will always see them because of Grab and Boat applications. If you like grilled baby-cue food like this, then Thailand is heaven for you. Look, people are selling goods sitting in the car like this, fruits etc. Grapes and apples. All this is here. I think all these are local fruits of this place. If you want to buy like this. The car is Hilux. It is such an expensive car and still look, these people are selling goods in it. But one thing has to be accepted, friend, Thai people are very hardworking. I think wherever you go in South East Asia, be it male or female, you will find everyone from the working class. I was talking about Sanskrit. So the first Thai Kingdom of Thailand, Sukhotai, is also derived from the Sanskrit word Sukhodaya. The second Thai Kingdom, which I told you about, Ayodhya, the ancient Thai city, is also derived from the Sanskrit word Ayodhya. And the meaning of Swarnabhoomi, the Suvarnabhoomi International Airport of Bangkok, is also linked to Sanskrit, which means Golden Land. So you will find all these Sanskrit influences, Sanskrit world and especially Hinduism in different sections of the entire Thailand . I think this is an intersection right now. Look, it is written in front. This is a prohibited area. This is an expressway. If you look at something like this, I think even walking is prohibited. Look, it is written in front that I cannot walk from here. If you walk, you will be fined 1000 Thai Baht. And bicycles cannot go. E-rickshaw drivers are prohibited. Bikers are also not allowed and pedestrians are also not allowed. So I think I cannot walk through this section . See, I was talking about Hinduism and Hindu people. Pandit ji, look, he is going from here riding a bicycle. So now I have found the landmark of Vishnu Temple which is on this side. There are all these different temples here which you can see. Now after working so hard, finally I have reached Shri Vishnu Mandir i.e. Vishnu Temple which you can see in front. This is also a very big premise and you will get to see very beautiful color in it and the temple is quite big. Once we go inside, I will show you everything properly. [Music] Jai Shri Krishna. I am Acharya Om Hari Sharma, you are watching from Shri Vishnu Mandir Bangkok . Bhaiya has come with us and wants information about the temple. So for your information, let me tell you that this is the biggest temple of the Indian community in Bangkok and is especially established by our Purvanchal community . This temple is more than 100 years old and has its own unique and amazing historical significance. We celebrate all our festivals with great pomp and show here and especially when we celebrate festivals like Navratri, Sawan , Deepawali, the local Thai people here participate in it with great devotion and reverence. And let me say that our ancient Indian culture which we read in books and see in serials is very popular. Let’s see, we hear in the story, here you will get to see directly how we should respect a great and respectable person, how we should greet them, how we should bow to God, how we should be cautious and careful during worship, you will find all these things in his life and especially the festivals of our temple, Navratri is celebrated as a very big festival. Thousands of devotees come here and we worship Bhagwati Parama Mata Durga, worship her and because I am from Vrindavan. My birthplace is Vrindavan, the city of Kanhaiya. So when the festival of Janmashtami comes, which is about to come. In that, we celebrate the holy festival of Janmashtami with great pomp and show. All our festivals that come in the calendar of a year, we try that everyone celebrates them together and with a ritual. Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva will be performed throughout the month and especially we will go to the sea shore just like Ram Ji had established Rameswaram before going to Lanka, so keeping in mind the same pattern, we go in thousands from here and make a Shivling right on the sea shore and worship it. Do Rudrabhishek. It is a lot of fun and I request all of you with folded hands. Whenever you come to Thailand, come to Bangkok, you are welcome. You must visit Vishnu Temple and this Vishnu Temple is located in Sathon area. It is very famous. It is a historical temple. So I request you to come and also tell your acquaintances to visit the temple whenever you come to Bangkok. You are welcome. Thank you very much. Jai Shri Krishna. [Music] [Music] [Music] So guys, it is about to be around 8:00 in the night and I have come back to my hostel after visiting Vishnu Temple . So in the temple, you saw that the temple has been decorated very well and this is a pure Hindu temple, the Pandit ji told you the detailed history of this temple, it was called a 100 to 150 years old temple, it was 111 or 121 years old temple where Thai Hindus and Indian Hindus as well as Thai Buddhists all go here to pay obeisance. One thing I noticed was that in the whole of Thailand, along with Thai Hindus and Indian Hindus, you will also see Buddhists going to Indian Hindu temples where they go and do puja. The rest of the temple was very beautiful. This section which you can see as a building is where these Pandit ji people live. Puja, etc. is done here. Satsang, etc. happens and I felt very nice inside. Here also Pandit ji gave me many things as prasad and offered coconut water, plain water to drink, prasad to eat and bananas to eat. I spent a lot of time there and after that I did a little walk and the room was very humid. You can see the sweating on my face, that’s why I thought I should go and rest a little. If we talk about food habits, then in Thailand, there are Thai Hindus and even including Indian Hindus who have been living there for a long time, i.e. from the fourth century. The food habits here are that all the Hindus are going to be non-vegetarian in majority. That is, all of them eat non-vegetarian. They are Hindus but they eat non-vegetarian. Especially Thai Hindus, so purely you will find hardly a few percent or around 1.5% Thai Hindus who are vegetarian. Otherwise maximum and majority are going to be non-vegetarian. So guys, let’s keep this much in this video for today. I will continue this video again tomorrow . So now I will go and rest in the hostel. Let me take some rest and I’ll meet you in tomorrow’s video. [Music]
