【絶景の北イタリア】②ドロミテエリア編 息をのむ大自然!イタリア・ドロミテを巡る旅|可愛い村々、美しい湖、そして雄大な岩峰群!
Traveling around Northern Italy (Dolomites area) Quiet villages and rocky mountains of South Tyrol Be amazed by the natural beauty of the Dolomites Travelling around Northern Italy Fly into Milan Mediterranean Area Dolomites area Tour the Mont Blanc area Introduce the spectacular views of Northern Italy in three parts:
Vol.1 Mediterranean Area
Vol.2 Dolomites Area
Vol.3 Mont Blanc Area This video introduces Vol.2, the Dolomites area. We finally made it to Santa Maddalena! A beautiful village in the Funes Valley in the Dolomites. The view from the Church of Santa Maddalena further ahead is particularly famous. We walk up the hill towards the church My vision has opened up I went up to the church! Let’s go around to the front. It is clear that the church, built on a small hill, has been watching over this village for many years. Heading to the scenic spot The Church of Santa Maddalena can be seen in the foreground, and the Dolomites in the distance. You can see the Geisler Massif, which is part of the Dolomites. We went to the town of Santa Maddalena for lunch. It is a small and cute town lined with pensions and restaurants. Very cute restaurant! Some guests have lunch on the terrace. The terrace offers a view of the Geisler mountain range. After lunch, transfer to our overnight accommodation: Innsbruck. The only time on this trip we left Italy was in Austria. Walking through the quiet town early in the morning The sun began to shine on the city This river is the Inn, which flows through Switzerland, Austria and Germany. This river, which has a total length of 517 km, is the origin of the name of Innsbruck. When we returned to the hotel after our walk around the city, we were greeted with a surprising sight! A bicycle road race just started in front of the hotel. Today we’re heading to Cortina d’Ampezzo, stopping off at two lakes along the way. A lake in Bolzano, Italy, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Swans were also floating leisurely. Pimpinella flowers were blooming on the lakeside. Located at an altitude of 1,754m, it is called the “Pearl of the Dolomites” and is registered as a World Heritage Site. There are mountains around 2000m high. Take the pair lift up the hill and enjoy the view of the lake! Valerian Alpenrose Rhododendron canadense Leaving Lake Misurina behind, we head towards Cortina d’Ampezzo. Entering the town of Cortina d’Ampezzo It’s a small town with a population of 5,800. First, take the cable car up Mount Tofana. Take three ropeways to the summit When we transferred to the second one at an altitude of 1,778m, the view was breathtaking! At an altitude of 2470m, we transfer to the final ropeway. The transfer station is getting further and further away. We arrived at the summit station at 3191m. The summit offered a magnificent panoramic view! We got off the ropeway and returned to the town. Enjoy walking around the city and looking for a restaurant for dinner. For dinner we went to a pizzeria next to the church. The thin crust pizza typical of Northern Italy was delicious! The next morning, we took a walk around the hotel. Today we will enjoy a hike at the foot of the “Tre Cime” From the parking lot, we start walking towards “Tre Cime”. In front of us, we can see the southern slope of “Tre Cime”. On the right we can see the Auronzo Hut. It was already a spectacular view, but an even more amazing view awaited us afterwards! The “Auronzo Hut” is getting smaller Many alpine plants bloom along the trail. The pretty flowers are blooming in the gaps between the rocks. The Tre Cime is a symbol of the Dolomites and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. “Tre Cime” means “three peaks”, but it actually consists of six peaks. So why is it called “Tre Cime”? You’ll find out the answer later. The Lavareto Hut comes into view Leaving the “Lavalleto Hut” behind, we continue climbing towards the base of the “Tre Cime”. We climbed a rocky, pathless path. We can see “Tre Cime” on our left, but we should watch our step and climb carefully. The grand panorama of “Tre Cime” spreads out before our eyes. From here we climb up towards “Tre Cime” The dreamy “Tre Cime” is just around the corner! It’s no exaggeration to say that we embarked on this journey to get here! The northern slope at an altitude of 2,999m is visible. The reason why “Tre Cime” is called “Three Peaks” is because of the view of this northern slope. It’s finally here! Feeling a little reluctant to leave, we decided to take a different route down. A fossil shell found on the side of the trail. This was the bottom of the ocean hundreds of millions of years ago. This was a battlefield during World War I. A monument has been erected to commemorate those who died in the war. Statue of the Fallen Angel, where the Italian army was stationed Although it is now surrounded by beautiful nature, it is a place with a sad history in the past. Touring Northern Italy: Vol.2 What did you think of the Dolomites area? The Alps in Northern Italy are home to cute villages, beautiful lakes, and stunning views of rocky mountains! In the next episode, the final one in the series, we will introduce the Mont Blanc area! Don’t miss it! We hope this video will be of some help to you on your journey.
