The editing feels choppy, but thank you for sharing this! Those residences are gorgeous, and the open shoji everywhere really impress on me how big they really are. I hate to even imagine how much it would cost to recreate them now…… The cost of cutting, collecting, and seasoning enough timber just for the superstructure alone is… Well over 3 or 4 million USD, easily. Never mind the labor, the fittings, the kura storehouses (I notice Mori had 2 and Baba had 3? 4? We'll call that a whole lot.)
