【佐渡キャンピングカー旅】大雨で出発遅れも大満喫!家族4人で念願のたらい舟&車中飯は春雨サラダ!
What if it falls? They’ll split up. We’re preparing for our trip in the pouring rain of 60mm. We didn’t think the rain would make it harder to prepare for the trip, so we ended up leaving home an hour late. This trip is to Sado Island in Niigata Prefecture, a place we’ve never been to before. Daddy: Okay, let’s go then. Mum: Yes. Daddy: What time is it now Mum: 6:28pm Daddy: About an hour late. Mum: That’s right. About an hour late. Daddy: As you can see, it’s raining heavily Mum: See! It’s heavy. It’s like a thunderstorm. Daddy: It’s been a while since we’ve seen it raining this hard. Mum: See? Daddy: A lot of preparations have been delayed because of this heavy rain. Mum: Yes. Daddy: And our futon got wet. Daddy: I’m sad. Daddy: We’re heading to Nagano first Daddy: Tomorrow, we’ll take the ferry to Sado. Couple: Yay! Daddy: Is the ferry okay? Mum: Huh? Mommy: Does that mean the flight might be canceled? Dad: Maybe not? I don’t know what Niigata is like. Mommy: That’s true. It depends on the weather over there. Dad: Yes. Anyway, we’re heading to Nagano from here. Dad: It’ll take a little over two hours. Mommy: Yes, please. The rain stopped as we entered Nagano Prefecture. Dad: 9:49. We finally arrived at the Obuse Parking Area. Mommy: It was a long drive. Dad: It was a long drive. Dad: Ryo-chan has already fallen asleep. Dad: What’s going on? Daughter: Water is coming out again . Daughter: Mommy’s still coming out. Our daughter Yuika, who is sitting in the back seat, says there’s water dripping on the floor. Dad: Is it dripping? Mommy: When we loaded the luggage, maybe some rain got on it. Mommy : The raindrops pooled up and ran a little over the back seat. Dad: I see. Mommy: Yes. Mommy: I’ll wipe it up later. Daughter: It’s really spilled. I checked later and found out that the floor was wet not because the luggage was wet from the rain, but because the sink water had leaked out in large quantities due to the car shaking. Mom: That’s because it was raining really hard. Dad: There are so many cars. Mom: Oh, there’s a camper. Dad : Excuse me. Dad: We’ve arrived. Mom: Yes, thank you for your time. I want some blackout curtains, but I can’t find the right size. Thank you for the clear weather. It’s almost the season for delicious ice cream, but I forgot to buy ice. Daughter: Are you going to Sado Island today? Mom: I’m going today. Daughter: Yay! Okay! Okay! Okay! Dad: 8:10. Mom: Okay, good morning. Dad: We’re leaving. Mom: Thank you. Daddy: We’re at the roadside station now Mama: Oasis Obuse Daddy: We’re leaving the roadside station and now Mama: we’re heading to Nagano Forest Village Daddy: It’s a pretty beautiful place Mama: Right, there’s a campground and Daddy: I think there’s a playground? Mama: Yeah, it seems like there’s a track field, so Daddy: I think we should make a little detour. Mama: Yeah. Daddy: Wow. The scenery is beautiful Mama: Right. The mountains look beautiful. Daddy: Oh, the mountains are amazing. Mama: Right, amazing. Amazing. Daddy: Oh, doggie, doggie, doggie. Mama: That’s cute. Daddy: Is it a husky? Mama: Maybe? It looked like a husky. Even the husky was wearing clothes Mama: It was a bit chilly today. Daddy: I don’t think it’s cold for a husky though. Daddy: We ‘ve finally gotten out of the traffic jam at Zenkoji and are on the mountain road. It’s before 9 o’clock, but the parking lots around Zenkoji are jammed. Daddy: 9km left. How many minutes? Mama: About 20 more minutes. Dad: Nanamagari is amazingMom : Isn’t it too steep? Behind Zenkoji Temple, on the way to Togakushi, Nanamagari is a steep slope with a gradient of 16% Dad: Is this the end? Mom: Have we made a turn? Dad: Have we made all the turns?Mom: It’s like, a little more attractionDad : It’s because we’re surrounded.Mom: Ah, I understand. It feels oppressive.Mom : This is the end of Nanamagari.Mom : Good work. We’ll get a pass from the locals.Mom : It says Iizuna Kogen CampgroundDad : Oh, is this it ?Mom: Ah, this? Mom: Yes, we’re camping.Dad : Okay, we’ve arrived.Mom: Yes. Good work.Dad : Where’s the activity building? When we travel in a camping car, the ride time is inevitably increased , so Dad plans to make sure we have enough time to move around.Daughter : I’m going here tooDad: Can we make it? YuikaDad : Amazing! We went up.Dad : Yes. Thank you.Daughter: Please be careful.Dad : Yes. Dad: Croissant. My son Ryo eats his first croissant. Son: Croissants are so delicious. Dad: Croissants are delicious, aren’t they? Dad loves them too. Son: It’s his first time eating one. Dad: You’re right. Mom: Wow! A big bird. Oh, no, no, no. Not a bird. A person! Mom: A zip line! I thought it was a bird. Mom: Wow, it’s amazing. Son: What if you fall into the river? Dad: Really! Mom: It’s amazing. There are scary activities. Son: I mean, what if you fall off this? If you fall off, you’re finished. Mom: Right. It’s amazing. Son: But you don’t have anything hanging on your back. Mom: Right. Son: Isn’t there something hanging on your back that looks safe? Mom: Oh, right. This is your lifeline so you won’t fall off. Mom: Are you okay if you fall off? It was fun to move our bodies as a family. Dad: Please. Shop assistant: Here you go. Store clerk: Yes. Thank you. Daddy: Thank you. Daddy: Soba dumplings, a souvenir. Mama: Really? Daddy: Aren’t they unusual? Mama: What is this? Daddy: I don’t know. Mama: Has it been fried once? Daddy: Deep-fried? Mama: It doesn’t seem like it? It has a batter. Let’s eat. Daddy: Yes. It’s a taste I’ve never had before. Mama: It’s deep-fried. Daddy: Yes. Mama: It’s mitarashi, but it tastes more like a side dish. Daddy: I want to buy something to eat on the ferry like last time. Mama: That’s right. Maybe a supermarket or something. Daddy: I want to eat local food. Mama: I want to eat, I want to eat. Daddy: It seems like I forgot something important. Mama: What? Daddy: A frying pan. Mama: Wasn’t that here? Daddy: What, was it there? Mama: I think I have it. Daddy: Really? Mama: Yeah. I saw it yesterday. Daddy: Really? Then I might have brought it. Mama: Maybe I do. It’s the same TOM200! I filled up on gas. I’ve driven 300km so far and put in 29.66 liters, so my fuel economy is about 10km/L. Exactly 10, 10.5 Not bad, right? Mum: Right. It’s in double digits. Dad: Yeah. That’s good. Dad: Here we go to buy the rice Mum forgot. Mum: Sorry. Dad: Yes, everything’s fine. We also bought rice. Mum: Good. Dad: We bought some rice, Shinnosuke, a type of rice from Niigata. Do you know that? Mum: I know. Dad: It was really expensive. Mum: Right now. Dad: It’s not that Shinnosuke is expensive, it’s that rice is expensive . Mum: The price increase has gone ridiculous. Dad: I bought 2kg, but of course 5kg is cheaper. Mum: Yeah. Mommy: It’s almost 5000 yen. Dad: So close, so close. About 4600 yen. Mommy: Yeah. Right. Dad: Oh, isn’t it the sea if we go over this? Mommy: Oh, can you see it? Dad: I can’t see it. Mommy: Oh, there’s a picture of a Japanese crested ibis. Dad : SADO Mommy: It’s the alphabet. Dad: We’ve arrived. Oh, there’s a camper van. Mommy: Yes, there is. Dad: Yes, there is. Mommy: They’re calling us. Ferry company: Would you like to board the 2pm ferry with your car? Have you made a reservation yet? If so, can you bring your vehicle inspection certificate and reservation number to the counter to complete the boarding procedure? Dad: Yes, I understand. Mommy: Right, we’re going to Niigata by boat. Because it’s an island. Son: Because it’s an island? Right, we’ll take a boat. You mean an uninhabited island? Son: Is it an island or an uninhabited island? Mommy: It’s not an uninhabited island. Mommy: Oh, there’s a rider here. Dad: Camping car zoneMum: It’s true. It’s all organized.Dad : We’ve arrived.Mum: Good job. Checking in for boardingMum : KoganemaruDad: Oh Ryo, let’s enter the ferry.Mum : Oh, the lanes are split. It’s so much fun to be able to board while remaining in the car.Mum : Oh, that’s amazing. It’s the sea. Ferry company: There are two rooms, this one and the upstairs.Mum: Which do you prefer? There’s one upstairs too.Dad : Let’s go upstairs.Mum: Shall we go? Son: Look upstairs. I like the downstairs tooMum: Right. Well, let’s take a look for now.Mum : Ah, that’s nice. Upstairs.Mum : And the upstairs is second class tooMum: Thank you Yuika-chan for getting everything readyYuika : What’s this?Mum: This is soy sauceMum : GO! Let’s GO! Dad: We’ve landed on Sado IslandDad : We’re hereYuika: SA-DO-GA-SHI-MA- Dad: We’ve arrived. Mum: We’ve arrived. Daddy: Yeah. Mama: It felt pretty long. Daddy: It was long. Yeah. Daddy: First, which hot spring? Mama: It’s called Ogino-yu. Mama: Today’s bath Daddy: We haven’t decided where to nap yet. Mama: I haven’t decided yet. Daddy: This one ? Mama: This one. Daddy: We’ve arrived. Daddy: It’s close. There are quite a few people here. Mama: There are. Are they staying overnight? Mama: I’ll take a bath. Refreshing in the bath Daddy: Ogino-yu was great. Mama: Yeah, it was really good. Daddy: It was a mellow hot spring, and it was only 6 minutes after we arrived at the ferry terminal. Mama: It’s close. That’s a relief. Daddy: It was pretty crowded, wasn’t it? Daddy: It was crowded. There were quite a few people who had gotten off the ferry. Mama: There, there. There was the same car. There was. Daddy: Oh, right. Daddy: It felt nice. Mama: There were other people there too. Like regular tourists staying there. Daddy: And it was cheap too. It’s 500 yen. Adults. Mum: Right. 500 yen for adults, 250 yen for children. Free for infants. Daddy: That’s nice. So sweet. Mum: Right. So sweet. Daddy: Well then, let’s head to today’s nap spot and have dinner. Mum: Yes. Daddy: Oh, Lawson. Lawson. Mum: Lawson. Daddy: We just stopped by Lawson too. What was it again? There are no 7-Elevens on Sado Island. Apparently Lawson is the only convenience store on Sado Island, with eight locations. I’m hungry. Let’s cook some rice. Tonight I’m going to make a simple glass noodle salad in the microwave. Prepare a microwave-safe Tupperware 30 grams of vermicelli 200cc of water Submerge the whole in water If you don’t have a microwave-safe lid, move the lid aside Microwave for 3 minutes at 600W Cut the vegetables while cooking 1/3 of a carrot and half a cucumber If you put in too much cucumber, it will become a little watery Slice everything with a thick julienne cutter I’m afraid of my fingers, so I don’t try too hard, I eat the edges The usual ham , cut into halves and julienne 1 tablespoon of sugar 1 tablespoon of soy sauce 1 tablespoon of vinegar 1 tablespoon of sesame oil 1 tablespoon of gochujang All seasonings are easy with 1 tablespoon of roasted sesame seeds If you have a monkey, you can avoid this kind of trouble The recipe is written in the explanation column Boiled kogomi (wild vegetables) in salt Shinnosuke from Niigata It was delicious Itadakimasu Thank you for the meal. Good night. Sado Island Trip Day 2 It’s slightly cloudy now, but it looks like it’s going to be sunny. Couple: Good morning. Daddy: We were supposed to leave at 7:30 but I overslept and woke up at 7:00 . Daddy: I had breakfast and now it’s 8:38. Mama: Yes. Sorry. Mama: I stayed up late last night. Mama: Well, I messed up. Daddy: It can’t be helped. First up is the tub boat. Mama: Yes, I want to ride the tub. Daddy: Mama longs for it. Daddy: The longed-for tub boat. Daddy: Hmm? This is on the left. The wind is strong. Is it okay? Mama: The tub boat is okay. Apparently they do the tub boat even when it rains. Daddy: A tub boat in the rain. Mama: It looks like you can ride it. With an umbrella. Daddy: Are you going to ride the tub boat with an umbrella? Mama: Right. Daddy: That’s amazing. Mama: The tub boat we’re going to ride now has a square window in the middle, and apparently you can look into the ocean from there. Daddy: Wow. Amazing. Mama: Oh, the water is beautiful. I could see the ocean just now. Daddy: Oh, right. Seriously? Daddy: Are we going on this? Mama: It says parking space. Daddy: Everyone’s here. Mama: It looks like it’s going to be deep. Daddy: We’ve arrived. Shall we get on then? Mama: Let’s go buy tickets now. Captain: We’re family, aren’t we? Ryo: I want to drink Sado’s deep sea water. Sado’s deep sea water is recommended by island YouTuber “Kee-san” as drinking water. Let’s buy some later. Mama: Oh, the water is so beautiful. Captain: It’s a little narrow, but I think it’ll be more fun if we go together, so let’s get on. Mama: Yes. Thank you. Mama: Wait a minute, oh oh oh oh!! Captain: Big sister, go over there. Mama: It’s scary! Captain: Mama, go to that corner. Mama: Yes. Captain: You have to sit down. Mama: We’re leaving. Captain: Sorry, sorry. Yuika: Amazing. Mama: Amazing. Daddy: Wow, amazing. Yuika: That red bridge? Captain: Let’s go close to the red bridge. Daddy: It’s stable. Daddy: Ryo-chan, the tub boat is great. Do you want to buy one? Captain: But yes. Captain: Everyone says they want one. Mama: Ah, there they are. Blowfish, blowfish. Captain: Look big brother. Blowfish! Ryo: Ah, really, blowfish! Captain: Did you see them? Ryo: I saw them. Daddy: Doesn’t this give you muscle pain? Captain: I’m trying my best when there’s a bit of wind right now, but Captain: Surprisingly, you don’t have to do anything to return, and, everyone knows the trick, so they’re not putting in that much strength in their arms, I’m sure. Daddy: Wow. How can they control it like that? Son: Right. Captain: Isn’t it a little pretty? There are always fish here. Ah, there they are. Look, lots of baby blowfish. Baby blowfish. Yeah. They’re about 4cm long. Daddy: They’re tiny. Yuika: There were crabs too. Ryo: Beautiful. Daddy: Beautiful, isn’t it. Ryo: Later, when we get in the camper, let’s dance the Sado Okesa . Daddy: I can’t dance the Sado Okesa. Captain: You want to see the Sado Okesa, right? Ryo: And I want to see “Kee-san” from Sado Island . Captain: Ke-kun, maybe he’s not on Sado right now. Dad: Oh, really? Captain: That’s right. Ryo: “Kee-san” from Sado Island. Captain: That’s right. Captain: Look, a pufferfish, a baby pufferfish. Dad: Oh, you’re right, it’s really thin. The dock is crowded, so we suddenly let him try out being a boatman, and it gets hot . Mom: Do your best. Mom: Do your best. Captain: Knock them down, knock them down, knock them down. Captain: I can do it. I can do it. That’s fine. Captain: Can you tell we’re moving forward? Daddy: We’re moving forward. Mama: It seems like we’re getting further away. Mama: Can you do it? Mama and Yuika: Do your best! Do your best! Ryo: Is this what you’re doing? Captain: Yes, this is what you’re doing . Captain: 1, 2 Good, good. Yes, yes, yes. Captain and Mama: Good . Captain: We’re moving forward. Look at the seaweed. Captain: Amazing. Amazing. See, it’s moving, right? Daddy: It’s amazing. Captain: Good, good, good. Big brother is rocking it, is it okay? Daddy: We’re moving forward, Yuika! The most exciting part of the tub boat was getting on and off. Captain: Thank you. Thank you very much. Mama: Thank you very much. Daddy: Thank you very much.
