“Hana no Miyako Flower Park” Sunflowers, Zinnias, Annabelle, Blue Sky and Mt. Fuji

Hello, this is Ichiro😊 Today, I came to Hana no Miyako Flower Park in my hometown of Yamanashi Prefecture. July 24, 2025. When I woke up this morning and checked the live camera, there were no clouds at all, but in an instant, clouds covered Mt. Fuji. In summer, Mt. Fuji is quickly hidden by clouds. I thought about continuing and taking a video, but there’s no point if I can’t see Mt. Fuji. It’s just over 30 minutes from my house, so I’ll come back tomorrow. 😅 Good morning! It’s the next day, July 25th. Right now, zinnias and sunflowers are in full bloom at Hana no Miyako Flower Park. There are birds in the zinnia field 🤔 Zinnias are also known as the 100-day flower, and if you sow the seeds in spring, they will bloom for a long period of 100 days from June to October. This park is about 30 hectares in size. It is almost the same size as Hamamatsu Flower Park, and about three times the size of Ashikaga Flower Park. Moreover, most of the area is free to enter. In the flower fields in the free area, you can see more than 10 kinds of flowers throughout the year, including tulips and cosmos. Zinnias and Mt. Fuji😊 I think it’s the best place to see flowers and Mt. Fuji, but for some reason it’s not as popular as Oishi Park in Kawaguchiko. Oishi Park is run by Fujikawaguchiko Town, and this park is run by Yamanakako Village. Maybe because it’s run by the village, you can see all these flowers for free. Parking costs 300 yen, but I think it would be even more popular if it were free🤔 Maybe it’s good that there are so many shops in Oishi Park🤔 So I think Oishi Park is very satisfying for tourists. Even if you can’t see Mt. Fuji. Maybe it’s just a spilled seed… Cosmos flowers were blooming😊 Lake Yamanaka is on the other side of the mountain on the left, and it takes about 30 minutes to walk there. Next to the zinnia field is a sunflower field. Sunflowers bloom facing east. Because this park is located east of Mt. Fuji, you can see the sunflowers and Mt. Fuji together. There were bees😊 Sunflowers and blue skies👍 Walk to the edge of the sunflower field while looking at Mt. Fuji. This year, the sunflowers bloomed three weeks earlier than usual. There are three sunflower fields, and the seeds are planted at different times in each field, so you can enjoy sunflowers for a long period of time throughout the summer. It’s the bees 😊 If the bees that pollinate crops disappeared from the world, there would be a food crisis 🤔 The movie “Sunflowers,” released in 1970, was actually filmed in Ukraine. Sunflowers are the national flower of Ukraine and a symbol of hope and peace😊 Mount Fuji has been an object of worship since ancient times. Let’s pray for world peace🙏 One tourist bus is already parked there. Parking fees are 300 yen for cars and 1000 yen for buses. Lake Yamanaka is on the other side of that mountain, and the free admission area is in front of it. These are the zinnia and sunflower fields we were in earlier. The entrance is in front of the large greenhouse. In just 30 minutes, Mt. Fuji was hidden by the clouds 😱 The admission fee is 600 yen at this time of year. The flower fields in the paid area are planted with marigolds, salvia, begonias, sunpatiens, and more. It looks like it will be a while before they reach their peak. The flower fields in the paid area are not as large as those in the free area. In the paid area, you can enjoy the waterfall and the atmosphere around the water rather than the flowers. I’m looking forward to seeing lots of Annabelle flowers blooming at the very back of the paid admission area😊 All the foreigners who came by tour bus headed to the sunflower fields. Let’s take a look inside the greenhouse before it gets too crowded. I love the design of this greenhouse👍 The building is nice, but the flowers inside are, well, ordinary😅 But today, you’ll see flowers made from cornstarch clay, so look forward to it✌️ It’s designed so that you can see Mt. Fuji from inside, but today it’s hidden by clouds and you can’t see it😅 There’s also a cafe inside the greenhouse. You won’t see this succulent plant anywhere else. The reddish purple leaves are nice😊 I don’t think you’ll see agapanthus of this color anywhere else either🤔 Now, let’s go to the second floor. These flowers are made from cornstarch clay. This is a work by Takamura Yaeko, who is from Yamanakako Village. Takamura-san started making art at age 81 and is still creating at age 97👍 “Real flowers?!” I can’t help but wonder😊 Thank you, Takamura-san, for your wonderful work😊 What a lovely greenhouse. Once Mount Fuji is hidden by the clouds, it’s hard to see its face again😅 Entrance. Flower fields in the paid area. Beyond that are sunflowers and zinnias. Now, let’s go see Annabelle. Souvenir shop. Restaurant. The paid area is called “Seiryu-no-Sato (Clear Stream Village).” The altitude is 1000m, so it’s cool in the shade✌️ I can see Annabelle. Looking at it up close, it seems a little past its peak. This year, the sunflowers came into bloom three weeks early, so I was able to see Annabelle at the same time😊 I can see the waterfall. I hope you feel cool😊 For a moment I thought about going under the torii gate, but I gave up😅 This is the very back of the paid area. You can see Annabelle😃 There is another waterfall beyond this stream. Annabell flowers are blooming around the waterfall😊 It’s called “Iwashimizu Falls”, but I’ll call it “Annabell Falls”✌️ Beyond “Annabell Falls” there is a triple waterwheel. If you’re lucky, you can see Mt. Fuji in the background… What did you think of Hana no Miyako Flower Park? You can splash around in the water here👍 Thank you for watching the video until the end. When there are a lot of clouds, you can’t see Mt. Fuji at all. I’m glad I was able to bring you the collaboration of Mt. Fuji and sunflowers today✌️

I did wonder do they harvest the sunflowers as a crop when ripe or do they just leave them for the birds ,i buy them for bird food .All the best Ichiro .
