Tuesday Sunset Fukuoka🇯🇵Live from Japan
And good evening everybody from Fug Walker in Japan. It’s Tuesday. The sun will be going down in about 15 minutes. So we’re going to have a little bit of a beach walk. We’re going past the big banana first. You can get shaved ice and snacks here. It’s really, really good fun. So he’ll be here for probably another 3 weeks. And so let’s go. We’re on the beach. It is just after 700 p.m. And there is our beautiful sunset tonight. Look at that. Amazing. So, we’re going to get right down to the water’s edge, Cathy. Awesome. It’s the sunset. We’ve had beautiful sunsets here every night. Just gorgeous. So, tonight we’re going to catch this one. Actually, I’ve got sandals on. I think I might just take them off. I think I might just take them off. Leave them somewhere up here. and we just go barefoot on the beach. How’s that? Oh god. Yeah, let’s just put them up here. Put them up here. So, here we go. This is where we are. And this is Marina Town Beach. I think that’s what they call it. Marina Town Beach. Yeah. But look at the sun. It’s just going to be gorgeous. And Flower Island right there, Kathy. Look at that. So, I hope you’re doing okay. Tuesday there for you as well. And I think we’re in the same time zone. So there we go. Sandals there. They’ll be safe until I come back. Yes, it goes down just to the left of Flower Island. Um I suppose at other times of the year it’s in a different sort of place. It might go either further east or west. I’m not sure. Already had a swim. So, we came down and had a quick swim this afternoon. It was low tide, so it’s not bad. It’s good swimming here at low tide, but at high tide, it’s amazing. Must be coming up to high again now. Hope you’ve had a productive day there, Kathy. I know you’re always busy organizing all that travel for everybody else. And then, isn’t it fun organizing travel for yourself? Wow. Oh, Kathy and I are going to do a little joint together next year, which will be fabulous. Let’s walk towards the sunset. So, I had a little bit of a quiet day today. I have Oh, no. I had a special day. Actually had a really special morning. I’ll show you what we did this morning. We did So, there’s the sunset. We did this We did that and we did that. So, it was sort of like a me day today. It’s been really cool. So, here we go. Water’s edge. Took mom shop. Well, that’s that’s all right. That’s what Travel Tuesday is all about. Getting out and just doing something. Look at the water. Doesn’t this look gorgeous? I love the blue nails. Yeah, they’re quite summery looking, aren’t they? It’s my fa favorite color for toes. I’ve tried to do other colors and um somehow rather it doesn’t quite work for me. That um that sort of works really nicely. So, there we go. So, we’ve got a few other people just taking a walk on the beach. People walking their little dogs, apartments, beachside. Yeah, you do have to sometimes, Kathy. That’s right. Beachside apartments. All with beautiful views. And then looking to the west. I’m always cuz I’m from New Zealand. I’m always a little bit disorientated in the northern hemisphere. I always feel as if I’m going the wrong way. So, um, this is north. Yeah, this has to be north, I think. Well, that’s east because that’s where the sun comes up. So, I’m pretty sure that’s north. But it’s a funny thing. It’s hard to get yourself orientated. Oh, my mic’s cutting out. Let me know. Could be something to do with the um the connection maybe. No sound at the moment. Okay, let me unplug. Okay, have you got sound? Have we got sound? There’s no wind, so it’s probably Is that better? And hear the waves. Oh, there’s a couple of boys in the water there. Still no sound. Oh, you got sound on your phone. Okay. So, I’ve unplugged the mic, so we’ll just leave it unplugged. Couple of boys in the water. Oh, so it’s your problem, Colleen. Fabulous to hear you. I’ve just unplugged the mic. Uh Kathy couldn’t hear me, so uh we’re mikeless now. How’s that? Mless. That’s Flower Island right there. It’s a beautiful evening here. The temperature is gorgeous and it is Yeah, it’s just lovely. Look at the water. Already had a swim, Colleen. Sounds good, good, good, good, good. We’ve had the most beautiful sunsets the last few nights. A little bit of cloud tonight. Oh, there’s some big fish jumping in the water there. They’ve got these amazing big silver silver fish and they jump out of the water. They’re huge. Japan, of course, has millions and millions of fish. It’s in the middle of a fish stream, so that’s why there’s a lot. We’ll see if we can catch another one jumping. Ah, it’s clearer without the mic. Nice to see you. We’re just waiting for a jumping fish. Sorry, my I’ve unplugged my mic. Uh, we had no sound for a while, so should be okay now. Pretty and Flower Island. So, I’m here for probably another 10 days in Japan and then I’m leaving. So, we will do another trip over to Flower Island looking for jumping fish. Where are they? I’ll zoom in. We might have more of a chance. Zoomed in. They’re definitely here because when we were swimming, they were jumping as well. It’s fabulous to watch them. Always wonder what makes them jump. I have the camera pointing in the wrong direction. But while we zoomed in, let’s take a look at the tower. Slowly, slowly downtown Fuku walk through here. You can see some high-rise buildings. Then we come around past the dome, the Hilton Hotel and Foga Tower. Walks and Camera, how’s it going? Fabulous to see you. Walks, walks, walks. I’ve just unplugged the mic because we’re having a few issues with the sound, but there we go. So Kathy, if you were Hilton is not downtown if you ever, but it’s good for activities, weddings, and a baseball. Oh, there goes a heron. Um, good. Yeah, for that sort of stuff. And it’s close to the um museum as well. So, but the Hilton is in this case is not downtown. Janice Ka, nice to see you. Few people out walking. Oh, the sun will just about be going down. We’re going to get back to jumping fish. They’ve stopped jumping. Fabulous to catch. Yes. To see you as well. Look at that sunset. So, that is Flower Island and we will be going back there probably one day next week. I want to check on the progress of all the flowers there and see what’s happening. Fabulous to see Nibul doing all that fantastic stuff that he does and walks and Camera does amazing walks through woods and beautiful music. Nibul and Walks and Camera give them both a great big follow, a great big like. And there’s Caroline. Cod Caroline, nice to see you. Isn’t that a nice kids in the water? We’re going to just head. I mustn’t forget I’ve got my sandals back there. Otherwise, I might get home. And oh, where are they? Oh, there’s that heron. He’s coming in to land on the beach. Whoa, nice. Don’t worry about jumping fish. We’ve got a beautiful heron. Just in case he takes off, I’ll zoom in. There he is. We’ll walk up to And he’s fishing. Brad, awesome. Nice to see you and Kichi. Oh, we were here for the sunset and now we’ve got a herand. Wow, the clouds are gorgeous. It’s like an eye in the sky. Yeah, both of you. Both of you are amazing. It’s just I’m it’s a little bit difficult for me at the moment to catch all of you. Um because I’m in a different time zone and yeah and I’m sort of a little bit busy with family at the moment which is really really cool. So you’re going to start walking away from us. That’s okay. We’re going to walk towards the sunset. You love it? Yeah. It’s gorgeous. Look at this. Look at this um the swirling clouds. It’s as if they’re going round and round. Lisa, wow. What are you doing up so late? Look at this beautiful sunset with a heron. We’re trying to find jumping fish. Uh the heron flew in instead. But for those of you that are joining, this is amazing. This is Travel Tuesday. A little bit of a quiet day. And when I’m quiet, I’m always okay. You never need to worry about me. I’m always okay. But I’m always just a little bit occupied with something else. Water. Our heron is sort of on the moon. I think he knows I’ve got a camera. Oh, wow. Gorgeous. Look. Into the sunset he goes. Wow. He’s off to Flower Island. There he goes. Whoa. What a moment. Look at this. Here he comes. Whoa. Can we keep him in the keep him in the line of fire? Whoa. He’s Oh, he’s landed on the beach up there. Wow. It was gorgeous. Something about those swirling clouds. We had an absolutely clear um sky last night, so that I used last night’s photo for this. But this is gorgeous. Nice to see Ken out and about too, Lisa. That was really awesome. So, we’ll walk down as far as this back nearly back to normal. I’ll walk down as far as those rocks that are there that are poking out and then we’ll I’ll probably finish around that point. We we’ll see if we’ll see if we can find our our heron. Yeah. So, the mic is out, but I think there’s no wind. Oh, the moon is up. Whoa. We got everything tonight, kids. There’s the moon. The moon’s just a little sliver. Looks pretty gorgeous though. There it is. The moon. Yeah, gorgeous colors. Back to that sunset. Yeah, Nibble. It’s nice, isn’t it? And look, it’s really, really clear up above. This is a really, really fabulous place to be. This is a gorgeous beach. There’s quite a few apartment blocks. And behind the apartments, there’s lots and lots of houses. Um, so it’s a really lovely residential area. Imagine waking up to this every day. If I lived here, I’d have a swim every day of the year, even in that cold, cold winter. I’ve done that before. I’ve done that in New Zealand. your swims in the winter time. Actually, zoomed in. It’s great because you get all the textures of the clouds. What am I going to do tomorrow? I need to go and do the foxes, don’t I, Lisa? And I’m not sure what I Yeah, I had a quiet day today, so we’ll have a little bit of a day tomorrow, I think. Had a really, really good day yesterday. had a lot of fun. Kawa shopping arcade and that was really cool. And going to see my friend Kazu with the who has the kimono shop here. So nice. Isn’t this gorgeous? But I think I think our beautiful heron’s moved on. It’s probably getting near bedtime for him as well. Yeah, the foxes will be lovely tomorrow. Okay, foxes it is. So, for the foxes, I just need to go into into downtown into Tenjen. So, that’s quite an easy trip and yeah, that’ll be good. We come to these rocks. So, at high tide, these are completely covered because you can see the high tide line here. A little bit of seaweed on the beach down here. Oh, it may be jellyfish. Whoa. Yeah, jellyfish. See? Oh, what do we got here? Oh, no. That’s a jellyfish as well. Wow. Okay. Few shells on the beach. There we go. Sunset is right about now. 7:21 actually. So when the when the water comes in. Wow, there’s a lot of jellyfish. They’ve come they’ve been washed in with the seaweed. Those are sea lettuce. So, it just comes and goes. They’ll probably all disappear when the t after the tide comes in and when it goes out again, it’s going to take all of that. Awesome. Yeah. So, at high tide, these rocks are completely covered with water. And then this weekend, kids, I’m taking you all to Sata. Uh, we’re going away for two nights. Where’s our heron? Ah, he’s gone. He’s vanished. He’s vanished. Yeah, we’re off to Sata. We’re off to Ikuchiima Island. It is actually, I think, my favorite place to visit in Japan. I think it’s beautiful there. So, I’m happy to take you all with me. So, some vehicles been driving on the beach. I guess they are sort of beach maintenance or doing something cuz you wouldn’t be driving your car on the beach, that’s for sure. There we go. Looking down towards the tower. Oh, there’s a jumping fish. We just missed him. He’s just gone back into the water. He might jump again. Just have a little look here for a moment. Sometimes they do just keep jumping. Sorry, we missed it. No, I think it’s gone well under. Just in case. Just in case. Oh, there’s lots of birds sitting out here on the wall. You can probably see them. all sitting there. Ducks in a row. Yep. Ducks in a row there. Remember last year I came on the ferry from South Korea. I came in through that gap there on the ferry. Did a I think it was about a Oh, jumping fish. It’s about a four or fivehour ferry ride. They don’t do it anymore. They had a lot of problems with the ferry. Um, uh, I think it developed a lot of leaks and they’ve stopped that. The slow ferry is still going, but not the fast one. Anyway, let me turn towards while we’re zoomed in. We’ll just turn really slowly. That’s a dredge that’s cleaning the harbor. And then we go to the sunset. Flower Island first. Hello. And there we are. Our beautiful sunset tonight. Look at that. Whoa. A sunset with swirling clouds. D Michael, greetings from the Mojave, the Mojave Desert. We’re at 3:24 a.m. The time here is 7:24 p.m. We’re on the same day because it’s Tuesday, but thanks for joining. Wow, it’s gorgeous. Remember, tread lightly, leave no trace, chuck out the guide book, and just get out and explore. Thanks, Colleen. Awesome. The colors are gorgeous, aren’t they? It’s even better when it’s zoomed, isn’t it? The jumping fish again just right there. They’re everywhere. It’s just you don’t c always capture them at the right moment. [Music] Thanks, D Michael.
