There are lots of lovely retro shops lined up. This is Gotokuji Station. There are European and American tourists. 初夏の光が街を照らす中、東京都世田谷区、北沢川緑道を歩く。元は農地の用水路だった道は、時代の波に流され、田園が姿を消し、高度経済成長期の喧騒に飲まれ、やがてドブ川となり、暗渠として人々の視界から閉ざされていった。静かな歩みの先、緑道の脇に漂う歴史の気配とともに、都会に埋もれた風景の記憶がわずかに浮かび上がる。自転車では走れない道をただ歩き、初夏の風と光を感じながら、ようやく山下駅にたどり着くと、レトロな空気を纏った小さな店々が並び、時間の流れが緩やかに感じられた。豪徳寺駅に立つと、欧米の観光客が町を見つめ、その視線の先に、この街の物語が静かに揺れていた。歩くたびに、都市の奥底に眠る静けさと記憶が初夏の風に乗ってよみがえる旅だった。
