|An Unforgettable Day in Osaka

I want to rest quietly, but there’s a Chinese person talking loudly on the phone. Add a bit of soy sauce to the raw egg. Alright, I’m heading to… my next destination now. This is where I stayed last night, it’s called IMANO. The first floor is a space where you can have coffee and food. This is what the overall view looks like. Let’s take a photo! Good morning!おはよう~ Wow, I slept so well last night! It was my first night here, but I actually slept better than I usually do at home, where I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately. I’m now on my way to my next place to stay. It’s about 900 meters from where I stayed last time, so I’m walking there now. Can you smoke here? Why are there so many cigarette butts on the ground? There are so many on the ground! Isn’t this not a smoking area? This car looks so cool! Uber such a nice-looking car! I think I came from here yesterday. I can understand “Osaka Prefectural Minami Police Station Nishi-Shinsaibashi Police Box” completely Although it’s in Japanese, the meaning is the same as in Chinese. Red light—almost got discriminated against. I’m walking while pulling a suitcase. Why are so many people standing on the street smoking here? This isn’t a smoking area. I thought I was getting farther and farther away, and now I have to walk back. I just went the wrong way. Japanese streets are narrow but very beautiful. ❤️ They look great, and photos taken there really turn out well. The smoke is being released directly here, making the whole street filled with smoke. If this were China, the urban management officials would have come already! Eh? That’s Ebisubashi. I’ve already come near Ebisubashi. I still remember during New Year’s countdown, “Currently, Ebisubashi area is very crowded. Please follow the police instructions.” was broadcasted by the police. It seems this isn’t the place, it’s not this bridge, I should go further ahead. I searched for a long time without finding it, then I turned around and realized it was right here — this Y’S CABIN OSAKA NAMBA. Wow, that scared me! please use the shoe locker Please use the locker. Good thing I didn’t go inside — “No entry with shoes on” So how do I go upstairs? Alright, then I’ll take off my shoes. Take off shoes. Okay, put them away. Now, let’s go upstairs. I wonder what floor it’s on? Is this the second floor now? Yes! Excuse me I have a reservation for one night if it’s okay Can i leave my luggage here? Can i see your passport? okay It’s time for Check-in? Check-in time is 4pm. okay Just one luggage Okay,Thank you. I’ll check here for a moment to see where to go later. I’ll sit here for a while first. This place is pretty nice, quite comfortable here. I want to rest quietly, but there’s a Chinese person talking loudly on the phone. Continuing to talk on the phone… (20x speed) Actually, I’ve always been able to understand why some people dislike Chinese, and I also really dislike those people. I’m going to look for something to eat. I want to eat ramen, so I’ll go to Ichiran Ramen. There’s a 7-11 convenience store here. I’ll go withdraw some money first. Not sure if there’s an ATM inside, but yes! You can use UnionPay cards to withdraw money. Welcome! 😊 I’ll buy a drink. Hmm, what should I get? 🤔 I’ll grab a coffee to wake myself up a bit. ☕ What’s this? Black? Is it an Americano? ☕ This is a latte… I’ll go with an Americano instead. Just a moment, please. I learned in textbooks means “I’m back,” so it’s a bit hard for me to understand when store staff say “ただいま.” Heading there now… whoa! (Almost tripped) I have money now, I’ll check where Ichiran Ramen is. I want to go eat Ichiran Ramen. direction okay Now that I don’t have a suitcase, walking is much easier. Okay, let’s go this way. Guys, I’ve now arrived at the place where I spent New Year’s Eve last time. I remember this crab sign really well — I was standing right around here, counting down to the New Year. It’s been a while since I came here. That up ahead is Ebisubashi. Back then, I even found 10 yuan in that ditch over there. I celebrated the New Year right here. This is the trendy photo spot billboard for influencers. 📸 See that? So many people. Why is it so crowded today? Oh… looks like Japan has a holiday too. Seems their public holidays are around this time as well. Ah, isn’t this the place where I bought ice cream last time? Back then there was a long line, but now there’s no one. Then I’ll get another one~ I’ve come to buy one again! 🍦 I suddenly realized I was standing in the wrong spot — I almost cut in line in front of that woman. 😅 I thought the line was over there — good thing I didn’t cut in. I was lining up there at first, but then I saw the woman in front of me standing here and realized this was the actual line. I almost ended up cutting in. 😅 It’s the same staff member as last time. Hello,I’d like this one. Green tea?/yup! Thank you! The usual photo check-in, haha. 📸😄 Didn’t get a good shot, so I’ll take it again. Looks great and tastes delicious! 🍦 Wow~~~ I just choked on this matcha. Wow~~~ I just choked on this matcha. The moment I tasted this matcha, my whole mouth was filled with matcha flavor, and it made me choke through my nose. I want to try other flavors, but since I’m in Japan, I really want to have matcha I really want to have matcha — authentic matcha — so I didn’t want to order other flavors. Wow, this car is so cool! ✨ Wow, what kind of shop is this? Why are so many people lining up? “Absolute Purchase”? What kind of place is that? “Specialized purchasing store” — what does that even mean? 🤔 So many people in line — I’ll take a photo anyway, even though I have no idea what this is about… 📸😅 I’d better hurry and eat Ichiran Ramen before the Chinese tourists arrive — otherwise there’ll be long lines again, and it’ll soon be packed with Chinese people. 🍜⏳ Here we are — Ichiran. I think this is the same branch I ate at last time. 🍜 Let’s take a photo~ 📸 There aren’t many people in line this time. Last time, I waited in such a long line. 😮‍💨 Yep! okay Thank you! Looking at the Japanese sign “営業中,” in Chinese context, they also use the three characters “营业中” to show that a business is open. I’m inside now~ I’ll order at that machine later. They also sell cup ramen over there. Ordering now~! Let’s pay with WeChat Pay~ After payment, the machine will print out an order ticket. You’ll need to give this ticket to the staff later. Can i go inside? That seems to show the occupancy status of the seats. “Staff Only” The same phrase is used in Chinese as well. Pre-select flavor I finished filling out the paper form and passed it to the Chinese person behind me, but they didn’t even say thank you. OK,Thank you! Here you go. Wow, this is ice water. Is it only Chinese people who drink hot water? It feels like people from other countries all drink ice water. The interior looks like this, with hooks on the wall for bags and clothes. This egg is soft-boiled. ok! Thank you! ok The broth I ordered is rich, and the special sauce is double the usual amount. Wow, it looks really appetizing… Wow~ So fresh and delicious. Very delicious. Delicious❤️ Thank you for the meal! In Japan, there’s always a GU store right next to Uniqlo. Sister brand I think GU’s designs are a bit better. Excuse me How much do I need to spend to get a tax refund? It’s 5,000 yen. OK, Thank you! Thank you very much! At GU, you need to fold your clothes and put them in a bag by yourself. Came back to rest a bit, totally exhausted. This is the overall environment of the hostel. Now I’m looking for my locker, number 403. I can put my things in here. Phone: “What about me?????” Phone: “Finally remembered me!!!”😂 Excuse me I’d like to get my luggage. Luggage? And do you have a luggage number?/yep! My jeans pockets are so tight, I can’t get anything out easily! 😂 Sorry, sorry! hahahahaha…..😂 Just a moment, please. Thank you! Water pressure, volume. All of these have Braille. I’ve heard since I was little that Japanese society is very friendly to people with disabilities — and it’s true. 🥹 I’m going downstairs now to the lounge to charge my devices and take a break. I’m going to the lounge downstairs. I don’t like staying on the bed, feels like… The design of the common lounge area is very Japanese-style, and I really like it. The white guy behind me is driving me crazy, talking loudly on the phone non-stop… (sped up 50x) This is a restaurant where you can eat seafood dishes and sushi. Hello,a table for one. okay You can order with your phone here, and there’s a Chinese menu too. ❤️ Actually, I want to sit in that area, and if it’s crowded, I could sit there. It’s interesting to experience Japanese-style tatami. This dish is something I often see on Chinese social media — you crack a raw egg over rice and eat it like that. This is sashimi, and this is tempura, which is very famous in Japan. I also ordered a big glass of beer. okay let’s eat! Add a bit of soy sauce to the raw egg. What kind of leaf is this? Can you eat it? I think it’s probably not edible. Maybe it’s just for aroma. But should I try it? I feel like it’s not meant to be eaten. Should I give it a try anyway? Let’s take a bite and see. This tastes like a fragrant leaf. So aromatic! I ate too much wasabi and choked. Ah, that feels good! Thank you for the meal! How would you like to pay? Alipay Alipay?/yes/okay! I’ll bring you the QR code. ok! Alipay? yep~ hahaha I’ve completed the payment. yeah okay thank you! 4268 yen, I’ll check how much that is in RMB. 213.27 yuan, not bad. It’s quite delicious. I’m going to check out that… Doraemon, oh no, I mean the Crayon Shin-chan store now. I quite like watching Crayon Shin-chan. Look, it’s Shin-chan. Nohara Shinnosuke. Wow, that’s amazing. He’s making music with that instrument. Is he Korean? That person is amazing. It was so embarrassing, I quickly slipped away~ 😅 This billboard has become LED now! Wasn’t it plastic before? Let me check the photo I took last time. Yeah, it used to be just a printed banner. Now it’s already been replaced with LED. The streets in Japan at night are so beautiful~❤️ Oh~ here it is, I remember now. There’s a station and a plaza up ahead. Last time on New Year’s Eve, a girl group was performing and singing here. My shoelace came undone again. The laces on these shoes always come loose. Let me tie them real quick~ I’m back at this store again. I remember there was a really cute fridge magnet or something here last time. This one is really nice too! Huh? They don’t sell that anymore? There used to be a lot of them here before. Looks like they’re gone now. Oh, here it is! Is this a deer from Nara? Do you have Japanese flags? Actually, I want to buy a Japanese flag. Can I walk here? There’s no one around, so I feel a bit scared. The navigation says to go this way, but there’s nobody here. Huh? This building looks so familiar! I think I saw it near where I stayed before. Let me check the map — 700 meters away… Oh, that’s not it. It just looks similar. 😂 Should I keep walking forward? Oh man, I’m a bit scared. Maybe the navigation is wrong? This doesn’t look like a commercial area; it looks like a residential neighborhood. I’m a little scared, but Japan is very safe. It’s different from Southeast Asian countries. What I mean by scared is just that I’m a bit timid walking alone down this street. “入居者募集” means they are looking for people to move in, but I’m not really sure what exactly they are recruiting for. “消火栓” is also called “消火栓” in China. All fire hydrants like this in China are called “消火栓.” Hashimoto Store Entrance/Exit
(Since it’s expressed the same way in Chinese, I can fully understand the meaning.) An architectural office i s a firm involved in architecture. In China, they also say “事务所” (office), and these terms were borrowed from Japan; they are Japanese loanwords. Both “建筑” (architecture) and “事务所” (office) originate from Japanese vocabulary. Oh, here it is! But there’s no one here, so I’m a bit scared to go in alone. Right here. (Suddenly realized something) This is a… oh! (Seeing the name, I remembered this is the guesthouse I searched for on the map before) I’m really amazed at myself. This is a guesthouse, not the place I’m looking for. How did I end up at a guesthouse? This isn’t the place I wanted. No wonder I ended up in a residential area. Oh, it’s at PARCO, over there. I’m really speechless about myself. I walked such a long way for nothing because I was looking for the wrong place. I accidentally ended up at the other hotel I was just searching for. Now I have to walk back —1.7 kilometers! Help!! I seriously want to scream for help! I need to go back the same way I came. I walked the wrong way and ended up at a guesthouse. I accidentally walked into a market called Kuromon Ichiba. Let me take a look at what kind of shops are inside. This place isn’t as commercialized as Shinsaibashi. There are hardly any tourists here, so I’m checking to see if there might be some more local stuff around. “高橋食品”—how do you read ‘高橋’? Is it ‘Takahashi’ in Japanese? Starbucks in Japan is cheaper than in China, so let’s get a cup of Starbucks. OK,Thank you very much. The staff gave me a menu. Matcha is a must-try when you come to Japan. Well, I won’t have matcha today. I’ll try something else. Let me try this one. OK, Hello! Which one is popular? Matcha Tea Latte OK,Matcha.(毫无原则,哈哈哈) The payment code is not open, sorry! OK! Thank you very much. This matcha is so green and looks really appetizing! It’s completely different from matcha drinks in China, which usually have a very mild flavor. Take a break and relax~ Look, a rabbit. (The rabbit refers to China.) Ah, is this Vietnam? 😂 Oh, it’s a cat. 😂 China Chinese I am Chinese. I came here again. I took photos here on New Year’s Eve too~❤️ Such a beautiful performance~❤️ 👏👏👏 Just grabbing a few things at the convenience store~ Who dropped this? The cup I carried all along with nowhere to put it, no trash cans around, so I had to throw it away back at my accommodation. Please. Three hundred ninety yen/okay. I find it hard to distinguish between the different Japanese coins and their denominations. Throw away some trash. Combustible waste Bottle This Chinese person nodded politely to everyone when getting off the elevator. Everyone seemed to follow the local customs. Back home, we don’t usually do this, haha. I think I’ll take the stairs after all~ I’m here to get the pajamas and essentials for tonight. Toothbrush ok I’m getting ready (washing up) now. A Chinese person is talking loudly on the phone, and someone else is snoring. That’s all for today —thanks so much for watching until the end! 2.

Welcome❤
