CRAZY Road Trip from TOKYO đŻđ” Japan Was NOTHING Like We ExpectedâŠ
Oh my!! is that Mt Fuji? Oh my goodness. Can I just say the restrooms in Japan? Wow. I mean, this is something that the gas stations in the UKÂ
can learn from. The ones in Japan are So clean, right? So nice. The best restrooms I’veÂ
maybe ever seen. They were so clean. Oh my gosh, that’s insane. A very good morning, all youÂ
beautiful people out there whenever and wherever you might be watching. we’re back with another one.Â
We’re back in Tokyo, but not for long. About to leave. But before we do though, give you a quickÂ
little room tour. This is where we were staying. For Japanese standards, this is definitely aÂ
mansion. Have a look at that. a proper double bed. It’s a mess right now because it’sÂ
been lived in for quite a few days. But here’s the best bit. This room is decent. Got a workingÂ
desk here. Big smart TV as well. Oh my gosh, the Wi-Fi here was a dream for anyone who worksÂ
online. Uploading vlogs from this room has been a dream come true. 400 Mbps upload speed. What didÂ
you say? Lightning fast. Big working desk here. Just checking we haven’t missed anything. BeautifulÂ
day out there. I hope we’ve not missed anything. I don’t think so. Uh we have a big mirror here.Â
Lovely. Some drawers here. Slippers and bits. Got more storage area here. But check the bathroomÂ
out. We’ve actually got a bath. You can stand in the bathroom here in Tokyo without bending yourÂ
head over. We’re embarking on a big adventure today. We are about to road trip in Japan. CannotÂ
believe it. I’m so excited. So, we’re about to go and head towards Narita Airport. We’ve got toÂ
go and pick our campervan. Let’s go. now we’re in a taxi and we just literally foundÂ
a random one, but the taxis in Japan are expensive… at the moment, It’s 700Â
yen, which is all right. No problem. Japan has this reputation about people being reallyÂ
honest, really good. So, let’s see. This is us taking a random cab from a taxi rank. SeeÂ
how this turns out. This is a pretty cool cab though. Have a look. You’ve got screens here. YouÂ
ain’t got one, but I’ve stepped back into like the the 80s or something with these little net likeÂ
curtainy things. I love them… to protect the seats. these are your Toyota crowns. The old ones from likeÂ
the 80s, early ‘9s. I love these cars. They’re in really good condition though. I’ll be honest. They areÂ
actually quite spacious inside as well. Look at that. Very spacious. Yeah. But this is beautiful.Â
I love it. Travellers autobarn. We’ve arrived. This is our baby here. Our chariot that’s going toÂ
be accompanying us throughout Japan. Are we ready? Super excited. The adventure starts here.Â
The adventure starts now. They’ve got our names out here as well. They were expecting us. Taz andÂ
Libby. Love it. Get the show on the road. Can I? Yes. Please go for it. Let’s go. Let’s go. Japan,Â
we’re coming for you. It’s time to shut up and get in. Let’s do this. Right. Okay. put the seat backÂ
a little bit. Get comfortable. So, I think our plan of action right now is get out of the city,Â
get out of the airport area, and then hopefully we’re going to go to some amazing spots here inÂ
Japan. I cannot wait to get off the little track a little bit as well, see a little bit more. JapanÂ
has some amazing things to offer. So, let’s go. We are on the highway right now because we’reÂ
getting out of the city. We are leaving behind Narita. We actually are going to drive backÂ
towards Tokyo and then the other side of Tokyo because we’re heading towards Mount Fuji, baby.Â
It’s going to be the first stop today. Hopefully, fingers crossed, it’s going to be a good one.Â
If you can’t see it today, it’s all right. We spend the night at Lake Kavaguchi. Exactly.Â
It’s the best place to see Mount Fuji as well. So, why not? This is our first pit stop.Â
Oh, this is exciting. First roadside station here in Japan. And I see a ton of vendingÂ
machines. That’s exciting. Look in there. Oh, those like restaurants and everything. Yeah,Â
you’ve got McDonald’s breads. Yeah. Let’s just go and see what’s happening. Oh, massage andÂ
everything as well. Spoil yourself. A McDonald’s family. Lovely. Bratz Plus already. I’m enjoyingÂ
this. I need to eat something as well. Yum. What would you like? I don’t really like somethingÂ
like ramen. Got some bits here. These services smell really nice. They do. They smell reallyÂ
good. So, this one, what is this? Chicken. Also, another thing that you guys need to bear in mindÂ
is some ATMs here in Japan will charge. However, the rule of thumb is go for the 7-Eleven ATMs.Â
These ones here, these are free wherever you are. And they’re not just at 7-Eleven. They’reÂ
literally everywhere. This looks nice as well. Whatever that is, but I haven’t got theÂ
translation on me right now. Okay, here we go. Shall we? I want to go for either this or this.Â
I’m going to go for this one. One. Happy days. This is our first impressions of a JapaneseÂ
roadside like service station. I like it. Can we please have one? One. Yes. One one Pepsi. Yes. And deep fried chicken.Â
One. Oh, that’s exciting. Okay. Okay. Yes. It’s good for my throat right nowÂ
as well. Yeah. Okay. Thank you. 2,200. So, that is about ÂŁ11, something like that, IÂ
think. Not so bad. But guys, this is quite cool, actually. I like this. We don’t get themÂ
like uh like this back in the UK. Hey, I’m a bit jealous. I’m just joking. We doÂ
actually, but our service stations in the UK are a little bit hit and miss. Sometimes great,Â
sometimes not so great. We got our buzzer now. Find us a cable and turn right. Yeah, this willÂ
do. Lovely. The time right now is 2:25. Okay, so we have another 150 km somewhere aroundÂ
that region. Yeah. Till we get to Mount Fuji. Hopefully the views are going to be incredible.Â
We’re looking forward to it. The day is amazing. Have a look at that. How many people is that for?Â
Yours is even proud. We could have easily shared this with like five people. Oh my goodness. Well,Â
I hope it’s good. It’s time for a big Japanese fe. What was yours? Jumbo. It’s a jumbo chicken curry,Â
right? It’s like a cat. Smells really nice. Yeah, I’m so excited for it. This is our firstÂ
time eating cats curry in Japan. Japan. So good. Smells amazing. camera eats first.Â
So, this is the perfect time to go and plug us on Instagram. Oh, look at that. M. Oh myÂ
gosh, that’s insane. That is There’s a little bit of a like salad underneath as well. M.Â
That is so decent as well. I can’t believe the size of this for ÂŁ11 together. Together.Â
So, this is like what? That’s ÂŁ2,200 yen. Not bad. That’s so decent. Not bad. Wow. AllÂ
right, we just finished our meal and a quick little shop back at trusty old family Mark.Â
Go out this way. Happy. Well, this has been a great experience as far as uh services areÂ
concerned on the motorway. Look, I can see Mario as well. He sticks out so nicely. There it is,Â
Mario. So, are we going without name then? Oh, I don’t know actually. Sorry. I just nicknamedÂ
him that. But we’re going to go with Mario now. I think we should call him oniri. Oniiri. OniiriÂ
it is. Okay. I like it. I like it. How about Tekashi? I could do it. Tekashi is a great name.Â
Yeah, actually. Yeah, I’m going to stick with Tekashi. All right. Oh, you know what? I want toÂ
call him Yoshi. Oh, Yoshi. Yoshi’s a great name, too. All right. So, I’m going with Tekashi. You’reÂ

for? Yoshi. Yoshi is Yoshi. We’re here. Can I just say the toilets here? Wow. I mean,Â
this is something that the services in the UK can take a leaf out of that book here. For sure.Â
So clean, right? So nice. The best toilets I’ve maybe ever seen. They were wicked. There wasÂ
so many as well. Like about 50 or 60 urinals. Flipping big spot. Clean ass. Wow. All right,Â
listen. Getting too excited over toilets out here. Let’s get to Mount Fuji. Time right now.Â
It’s 3:00. Uh, we have another 2 hours, 1 hour, 30 minutes, something like that. Something likeÂ
that. Yeah. All right. Get cracking. Let’s go. Wow. All right. As we head out andÂ
out and out and out of the city, it is looking. Yeah, it is. There’s a waves out. Woohoo. Oh my goodness. No flipping way.Â
It’s fully uncovered. You can still see. Oh my gosh, that is insane. Wow. Okay,Â
this is going to be epic. [Music] [Music] You are never going to believe it. We just parkedÂ
Yoshi right here. And now [Music] look where we are. Oh my goodness. You can start to see as wellÂ
now. The clouds are like creeping in front. This is insane. And we made it to Wishi Park, I thinkÂ
is how you say it. Mhm. Oh my gosh, it’s stunning. We have done it. Finally. Perseverance paid off.Â
So pretty. My lord, how beautiful, by the way, is our girl looking. Oh my goodness. Love it.Â
Could you imagine as well if you could camp here, you could literally open the boot and sleep withÂ
this as your view. That would be insane. Now, if you didn’t know as well, then Mount Fuji isÂ
actually one of Japan’s or it is Japan’s tallest mountain. Oh, this is stunning. Honestly, thisÂ
is so beautiful. And especially if you’re like on this side of the lake, I definitely wouldÂ
say come this side because you can see a lot more. And obviously, you’ve got the full view outÂ
here. This is insane. I have no words. I feel a little bit speechless, you know. I am actually soÂ
happy that we managed to get this view. We’re in the rainy season, so we weren’t sure. But look atÂ
the luck that we got. Look at that. Wow. We even have a beautiful cafe on the front here, a littleÂ
restaurant. They’ve got a really beautiful garden. And they look like they had some good ice creams,Â
but they’re closed. Yeah, they closed, I think, at about 20 5, which honestly is quite early,Â
I think. But hey, I don’t mind. Sun’s at 7:00, which is literally in about 20 minutes. So, asÂ
you can see, the light is slowly disappearing. But we’re going to take a little stroll alongside hereÂ
because it’s honestly so peaceful, so beautiful as well. I see people fishing down just on the on theÂ
water’s edge. But I think as well that this area is really popular because look, the flower gardenÂ
here looks insane. It’s so beautifully Exactly. It’s beautifully kept as well and the colorsÂ
so pretty. But even the backdrop past here, past Imagine if this is your house, right? That’sÂ
your view. Imagine waking up to a view like that’s your view. We’re really fortunate. We’ve come downÂ
on a day when all the man Fuji is actually out, right? Not a cloud covering it. It is beautiful.Â
So, we’ve set up the van for tonight. And uh this is our cute little bed set up. Duvet’sÂ
all out. I like this. It’s got a lot of space. Does Right. So, uh see you in the morning. DoÂ
you know you can even take another person up here? You can. Right. Just us for now. Happy days.Â
Good night. We give you around 2 in the morning. Welcome to our little spot in our Mickey No EkyÂ
last night. This is our Yoshi. She’s looking beautiful this morning. We actually alreadyÂ
have it set up obviously because we did sleep last night, but it was so comfortable. Let meÂ
give you a little van tour. Look at this. So, this is where we slept. We put obviously the bedÂ
out right now. And you can actually have another bed up there. Let me get in and show you. ButÂ
it’s a really nice little spot. So basically, we’ve just put all of our bedding up here.Â
We’ve got some sleeping bags and towels, but this all comes out and you can put another bedÂ
that comes out to here. So you can sleep, I think, three people in here, which is pretty insane. AndÂ
it was really spacious. We have loads of blinds, which is perfect. We also have two lights,Â
chargers at the back here, which is ideal. We have water and a fridge as well. A microwaveÂ
in here, which is wicked. Fridge down here, which is actually so nice. What else have weÂ
got? We also have a storage cupboard over here, which has got all of like our little cooking bits.Â
We’ve got our water tank, ramen, the essentials. Good morning. Good morning to you. How’s yourÂ
breakfast? Tea string. Can’t beat that. Come, let us show you where we actually camped lastÂ
night. So beautiful. So nice. Just having a quick cheesing cheese. Got three drivers over there thatÂ
loving life. Look at this. Make sure there’s no cars coming. Yeah. Lake Kawaguchi. A minute ago.Â
I just saw somebody on a boat wake boarding. I also just left our van door open. So, this willÂ
test how safe Japan is. Whether our stuff will go missing or not, I don’t know. This blows here. Oh,Â
this is wicked. Really nice. Wow. Ah, look. Yeah, I said that, didn’t I? That looks so cool. So,Â
Japan also is quite like obvious about the rules as well, like where you can and can’t park andÂ
camp and all of that. So, it’s really easy to know what you can do and what you can’t. But oh,Â
how cool is this? Oh, that looks like someone stalk us over there. Better not. Not nice. LookÂ
at this. There’s his own like little beachy bit. And that actually looks like something sunk,Â
but I Oh, it might be a like a jump. Not bad, eh? Not flipping bad. Oh, this is really nice.Â
Beautiful. And then Fuji should be, I believe, in this direction. So, just behind us somewhere.Â
So, do you know what that means? That means let’s get cracking on the road and hop around someÂ
spots in this area. Let’s go see Fuji. Good morning. Right, this is absolutely hilarious. YouÂ
guys might have seen this on Instagram, right? This is the queue going on here in frontÂ
of Lawson. I need to show you guys this. One second. Let’s get on the crossing. BeÂ
responsible citizens. Thank you. Here we are. Let me show you what’s going on. WhateverÂ
floats your boat, if that’s what you want to do, that’s what you want to do. Get this. And theÂ
view is pretty sick. So, if you want to do that, turn up early before 6:00 because all of theseÂ
people have actually come here on a day trip from Tokyo. So, there’s literally cues here rightÂ
now. We got here quite early cuz we stayed here last night. We did do our shot as well. Not goingÂ
to lie, we did. But before all of this mad rush, that is bonkers. That’s fuzzy for you though,Â
is it? Mental. Anyway, let’s do this. This, by the way, is banging. This is such a goodÂ
ring. There’s like ginger and some other like magical bits in here. Don’t know what thisÂ
is, but all of the salary, man. In Tokyo, they’re all partying all night long. FlippingÂ
hell. And then they start again the next morning at 6:00 a.m. I don’t know how they do it. I reckonÂ
this is the answer. This is the way to go about, but this is really cool. If you’ve been to Japan,Â
you know what I’m talking about. If you know, you know. Time for the next stop. Let’s go. DidÂ
you know that apparently 200,000 hikers hike Mount Fuji every year, which actually makes it the mostÂ
hiked mountain in the world? Apparently. So there you go. I did not know that. Fuji. Apparently. SoÂ
yeah, apparently so. So there you go. Eh, there’s so many places here in Fuji where you can go andÂ
just take the views. And so this is one of them. We managed to pull up roadside in this teeny tinyÂ
little kind of off-road part. And how beautiful Fuji is still here. See, this is another thingÂ
we wanted to mention. There’s so many people that come here on a day trip from Tokyo, which isÂ
why there’s so much traffic here right now. Oh my goodness. This is Wishi Park. Wa! This is empty.Â
This is where we came yesterday. The tour buses. Oh my goodness. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 justÂ
in this area in hell. Yeah, just literally along here. Fuji is just over here. And I think theÂ
clouds are slowly going to start to creep in right now. We made it. We’ve just come up I think aboutÂ
400 steps towards Pagoda. I also have no idea if I’ve just said that horrendously wrong by theÂ
way. So apologies. Is there we go. We go there. I guess we’ll go. Now, this is a spot. I’m sure youÂ
guys must have seen on Instagram. One of the most popular viewing platforms for Man Fuji, which isÂ
supposed to be back here. Fuji is over this side. I see. Actually, look, there’s a huge viewingÂ
platform up here. So, we have to just go up the teeniest, tiniest, last little bit, and then weÂ
will be there. It’s so super busy here, though. Oh my goodness. There’s loads of people around.Â
But, I guess this can be expected. It’s now about 10:30 a.m. So, you can expect that all of the tourÂ
groups are here. All of the day trippers are all here now. So, this is where we are. Oh, you canÂ
go much further as well, but I think we are here. This is the observation deck then. I think yeah,Â
you can go further, but I think we’re good here right now. Please be aware there is a bear in theÂ
area. That doesn’t sound that fun. That would make me a little bit nervous. Ooh, pretty. The town isÂ
beautiful. Stunning. But we’re going this way up to the observation deck. Oh, look at the littleÂ
doggy. Cute little shearino. We’ve seen so many shearinos already here in Japan. I absolutely loveÂ
it. Oh no. I think it’s mostly covered there. Darn it. And moral of the story, get here before 9.Â
Too many people out and about right now because this is meant to be one of the popular viewingÂ
platforms for Fuji. And this is what it looks like. Uh there we go. It’s literally this bitÂ
here and Fuji in the back. Here we have a classic little bit of a Instagram versus reality. It’sÂ
actually not as busy as I thought it was going to be to be honest. I thought it’d be way busierÂ
than this, but not so bad. So it could be worse. It could be worse. But this is what happens whenÂ
a spot becomes super popular, super famous. Fuji’s just peeking out right behind these clouds overÂ
here. We’ve got this beautiful pagoda over here. Absolutely stunning, but not without the crowds.Â
We’re enjoying it with everybody else. But like I said, if you want to come with it, probably empty,Â
not sunrise, but before like 10:00 a.m. for sure. Before 9:00 a.m. No, no, before 8. Because all ofÂ
these people set off at 6:00 in the morning from Tori to this popular sunrise spot as well. Yeah,Â
but you want to just come here. Sunrise these days are like 4:45 5:00. So that’s true. Thanks later.Â
Beautiful. It’s getting a bit hot now. So nice. Oh, these are Hello. Oh, wow. There’s loadsÂ
of different flavors here. Uh, white peach, grapes, soda, sakura mochi. Can I have one? SakuraÂ
mochi. And one. Shall I get vanilla and chocolate? Vanilla itchy. Vanilla and chocolate. Yes. ThankÂ
you. This guys is not bad. We have a little like a food truck here right at the bottom. AratoÂ
designer. And I am I love the currency here. It’s so crisp and it’s it’s not really colorful,Â
but it does the job. What is this? True. Oh, that’s ÂŁ10,000. Jeez. I thought it was ÂŁ1,000.Â
Yeah, that’s ÂŁ50. That’s like $65, $70. Yeah, I think um cash outside of Tokyo is definitelyÂ
used so much more in the city. We could pay. I was looking for this one. It’s ready. So quick. ThankÂ
you. Thank you. Oh, that was so quick. Cheers. Oh my gosh, this is so cream, man. Yeah. We haveÂ
to get a shot with Fuji. Fuji’s out like this. Cheers. M. This is really, really creamy. ThatÂ
was 1,000. So ÂŁ5 for two ice creams. Not bad considering it’s an iconic site. Yeah. TouristÂ
attraction number one. So that’s true. Actually, not so bad. We are finally here at our lastÂ
stop. We are at Tate Goama Beach. Look at that. This is incredibly gorgeous. This entireÂ
place has been such a revelation as well. It’s not just one viewpoint for Fuji. There are justÂ
so many and this is another lake. Like the beauty here in Japan has been next level. It has. It hasÂ
indeed. I’m so so happy to be here in Japan road tripping in Yoshi. I mean, she couldn’t do muchÂ
better if she tried. Yoshi has been an amazing companion. We’re definitely, I think, startingÂ
to lose the light a little bit this afternoon, but what a day. I think we’re probablyÂ
going to set ourselves up here maybe, actually, and just chill for a little bit.Â
So, should we check the water? a water check. I bet it’s cold. Oh, it’s actually not so bad. IÂ
was expecting it to be like freezing like glacier, you know, like ice water. No, it’s actuallyÂ
not. How fortunate are we here? Yeah, we’re counting our lucky stars here. ThankingÂ
as well that we’ve had a really, really good view of Mount Fuji. Absolutely magical. SoÂ
beautiful. Guys, on that note, I think we’re going to wrap things up here as well cuz itÂ
has been a long one. It has been going on for 2 days where we have been on the road non-stop.Â
