숨겨진 베트남, 몽족의 삶을 담다 [3박 4일 몰아보기]

In the mountains of northern Vietnam, covered with clouds and fog, there is a hidden gem in the vision of humans along with salt. The most beautiful rice field in the world. Cang Chai. It is the blood, sweat, and traces of survival that the Mong people, who settled in the highlands of Vietnam and formed a village, carved out of the mountains for hundreds of years. In order to see the life of the Mong people up close, I decided to spend the next three days going into their lives, doing the same work and eating the same food as them, and learning a little bit about their lives . What can I see, feel, and learn from their daily lives in 72 hours ? I am currently at the home of the Mong people, an ethnic minority in Vietnam. The day before, I took a sleeping bus from Han Noi to meet the Mong people and arrived at Binh Duong Giang Giai after a 7 and a half hour ride. I met the Mong people I had contacted in advance, rode a motorcycle up the mountain through the pitch darkness, and arrived at the homestay home. [Music] When I arrived, a Mong mother greeted me with a warm smile. Yes. Even though it was late at night, I couldn’t eat dinner, so they offered to make me a meal, so I ate delicious local rice with roasted pork and finished the day yesterday. The place where I am now is the room where I will stay in the Mong family home. This is the bed. I think this is a Mong pattern. But this pattern and the blanket, they seem to like really bright colors . It’s a regular red. And the view here is amazing. Wow , can you see it? Wow, it’s amazing. They say that they have their own independent traditional culture. So the language they use is called Mong, but Vietnamese isn’t very well understood here. A little bit. But the younger generation learns Vietnamese at school, but here, usually, the elderly don’t use it . The door to the ground is a bit old. It’s a toilet door that you see when you go to your grandmother’s house. I guess they raise a lot of animals. Hello. Hello morning. When I came up the stairs, I met my mother, who was already out early in the morning, and greeted her. My mother-in-law spoke a little English, which was better than I thought, so simple communication was no problem. Today, after breakfast, we decided to help with the farm work. [Music] [Music] Yes. So go walking. So right. So very hard. Mm . Yes. This is present from Korea. I hope we can get a little closer. I gave you a small gift that I prepared in Korea. I was even more grateful that you accepted it so happily. Thank you. Hey, I can eat this scenery. Is it a little cut zucchini? [Music] Yeah. Perfect size. The end. Let’s learn the job once. It’s a bit like the load I saw at the sheriff’s office. Yep . Our bodyguard. Yeah. How are you? I’m 26. 26. Yes. Meet 21. 21. Yeah. Who? Who is 21? I was surprised when you said you were 21, but you were actually 31, so you confused the English. My mother. So, do you go to the farm everyday? Black My all the dogs here are very friendly not parking family dog so my house so one two yeah so baby so yeah so the old family home collection This kid seems to be used to it all. We all grew up together, so since we were little, Hey, do you go here? Is it Pin? Yeah. What is don’t you know fr? Eat. Oh, oh, there it is. I think it’s a plum. Oh. [music] Wow, whoa, they just climb the tree and pick it. There’s no path, and they go back. They pick it like that and put it in their pockets. Oh, I hold on to the stem and go , Oh , come on . Oh, right. Oh, right. That’s the plum flavor that I know. It’s delicious. It’s sweet. The goat season is passing. It’s cute. [music] Corn is corn your main food? Chicken. [music] You elite her. H you elite hong. You hong hong? Yeah. I learn the word. Is that right? Yeah. I see um a lot of wom wearing this skirt. Oh, you see the here? Yeah. Very very colorful. H no me viing wedding go market happy new here Wow, I have to see the horns. I saw it for the first time . Wow, the scenery is also terraced, so it’s really calming. Oh, this is the only place with wifi, so kids are playing on their phones here. Nice. Wow. I see that. Working there. There are people working on the slope up there. It looks like they’re almost there. Looking up. I think homestays are good like this. It’s hard to enjoy tourist packages or things like that because there are too many people, but it’s really calming and reassuring to be able to do something one-on-one like this at a homestay. Nashin Ah, yes, the wild strawberries are good. They’re small, but they tell you to just eat them. Hmm. Hmm. Oh, sour. Yes. Oh, there’s a waterfall coming down there. This whole place is now called the oxalis field. How did they put such a thorough test on the mountain? [Applause] We have to go up. When did you come here? Wow, you’re taking a more dangerous path than I thought. Oh, Park, that guy is blocking my way. Go go go yeah yeah you have to go I have to go too Oh cucumber Ah so you [music] here so [music] here you here. Yeah. [music] [applause] [music] I’ve never done that before, changing things like deer lettuce and peppers, but I didn’t know I’d be helping out here [ music] like this. [music] You too. I’m working hard enough because the barley is here. [music] Yeah. Foody Ah. In this way, farming like this is not only painful and tough work. It is also very painful. My back especially hurts. How did they think of farming on a slope like this ? I think there’s a lot you don’t know until you try it yourself. It’s amazing that you do all this by yourself, and I hope this can be of some help. [Music] Wow, if I really do this, it seems like I’ll be doing it all day. I’m going to finish this and go home . Wow, I feel like I didn’t even finish half of it. Even after doing this, these cucumbers are really thick. They’re a little dirty. Where is the 박? Where is 박? No, no. missing Let’s go again. Ah, wow. Wow so wa When it’s hot, they go swimming here. They say it’s really cool when you swim, and the water is really cold. Now, for the people of Heomok Village, this is a summer refuge. Ah, it’s cool. Wow, now back on Earth, I’ll have lunch, rest a bit, and maybe around 2 o’clock I can try some local cuisine. This is definitely different from a regular bag when I tie it up . This is made of bamboo tied with knots. My shoulders definitely feel a little heavy and it hurts. This really doesn’t mean I’ve carried this for several kilometers . What? Oh, you’re on your phone here. What are you doing? Hello. Okay. Um. Yeah. Oh. They’re raising pigs here. Wow, piglets. Oh, there are so many. Oh my, oh my, that’s what coffee refers to, pigs. Um , yeah. Um, yeah. How old are they? How old? One month. One month. It’s a little bit embarrassing to eat pork. You go show you here. [music] So this pork was uh from there. No. No. Yeah. Support be me. So happy new year. Ah only. Happy new year. weding e other than that don’t eat Today’s lunch is pickled cucumbers and boiled pumpkin leaves harvested in the morning, and pork cooked crispy over an open fire. Thank you. [music] No, no. [music] Oh, after lunch, we decided to make a traditional Mong rice cake. The food we’re going to make this time is a traditional Mong glutinous rice cake called pato. [music] 20m 20m Oh, tomorrow , I think we’ll explore more tourist attractions or villages where the Mong people live . I wonder what the entire village is like now, with only one family here. They say that 90% of the population of Mulgangjae is Mong. Now that the Mong people have formed most of the village and are living like this, they say that the traditional color remains very strong. [music] [music] Okay. [music] Okay [ music] No [ music] Long [music] You follow me. Yes. Here. Go go go okay okay okay [music] Long [music] M. [music] [music] You got here [music] It’s sticky. The rice is, wow, this is really glutinous rice. Oh, this is so hard. Oh, I got blisters on my hands from doing this. I got a blister or two. [music] Yeah. Okay. What is it? What is it? Why? What is it? What is it? What? Okay, why? Oh, seriously, the gym is not a rep down, I have to go to the mortar and pestle. Yeah. Stretch it out and really properly Now that the taste has been added, it ‘ll be really delicious [music] Wipe your hand. [music] You’re eating it right away. Come out quickly. [music] It seems like you’re eating it right like this. [music] Hmm. Become one taro. Thank you. Thank you. [music] Yeah. [music] Crab roosters are here. Bye. [music] try [music] [music] There happened to be a lot of kids gathered, so I gave them some rainbow sketches and yakgwa as gifts. Good. [ Music ] [ Music ] I hope you have fun with this . [ Music ] Hey Kay , give me some … Oh, there’s a lot of smoke coming out of Mosil. It’s true that people don’t go out on rainy days. I guess people just stay home and rest on rainy days like this. I just found something really strange. Do you see that? They tied power lines to trees and made it like that. It’s the same in front of here, and it’s an opal. Wow, they’re loose. The gopals are grazing in the wild like this. Even though it’s raining, there’s a gathering here. There are people gathered here. This is an Itel Telecom telecommunications company . [Applause] Oh, this is This is like a bigger stationery store? It’s really full. It’s like bang bang, right? Bang. This is a minion. What is this? Oh my, the laundry is getting soaked, and it’s just stretched out. Shouldn’t I do the laundry again? Certainly, wherever you go, there’s a ton of wood piled up because they’ve been making fires in the stove. It’s like that no matter what house you go to. Oh, you have to do the fireworks, and you have to get all that wood, and you have to feed the animals . They live really busy lives. Everyone says this is a slow life, but I’m definitely not saying I don’t have much work. That doesn’t mean the road is just overflowing with traffic. The scenery here is definitely killer. [Music] It keeps coming. Oh, it should stop even a little. Is that a cat you raise at home? Huh? [Music] Yes. Oh. Even if it rains, it might rain tomorrow too, and it might rain , so I ‘m going to go see it even if it rains. Hey, it looks a little strange even if it rains again. [Music] Wow, this is totally oh, I came to see the viewpoint over there. What was your name again me? Yeah. June where you from? South Korea. Korea Hang. Hang qua How old are you? Me? Yeah. 35. 35. Wow. No one is here. [Music] And then M. Yeah. And then here Halloween. Halloween. Yeah. So for you it’s a everyday everyday view. Yeah. But you don’t really come up here. Yeah. Then go Han go and then the house house that is the mountain. How beautiful evidence In this way, they’ve made a path so that people can work even on these stairs . Oh , wow, the clouds are gathering over there. What is this place? [Music] Now, the water coming down from the mountain here is connected to the force over there. To the rice fields. Now, when the water goes in from the top of the rice fields, it sends the water down to the lower floors. Oh, there are people working down there. So this is rice. Rice. How long does it take to get yellow? Freeman Yebman Ah, they say in three months this will be here now. Wow, hey, how do these people walk here? [Music] Oh, oh, it’s scary. Wow. Yeah. Oh, they built terraced fields like this and now they’re all planted. This is , oh, this is really amazing. They supply water like this. Oh. [music] ขอ [music] Wow, it’s amazing that they planted them one by one by hand. [music] Okay. Hey, using buffaloes. In Korea, they use cows to do that, but here, they use buffaloes. [music] อื Ah [music] [applause] [music] [applause] They supply water and compact the soil. Like this, [music] The oars of Gangjai change like this. Wherever you look in Gangjai, all the mountains are in the form of steps. [music] No matter how you go, do you think these people came together as one to build these terraced fields ? Is it something ingrained in their DNA? [music] [music] Hey, this is too far. What is this? Forest. from One of the tourist attractions in Gangjai, the bamboo forest. Here it is. Hello . This is what bamboo looks like. Oh, so that’s how it’s done. Oh, it’s about 1km here. I’m looking around. Bambi. Oh, baby. Oh, don’t eat the bamboo shoots. Oh, the water is dripping. When I shake it. Just now, it made a heart shape to give it a touristy feel. The water is coming down here too. Look at how high it rises. Wow. [music] sa [music] [music] What do you like about living here ? [music] What do you think makes you the happiest in life? [ music] Have you ever really fought? [music] Do you have any goals lately? [music] I want to travel like you . I think what you’re doing is really amazing. It’s something that not just anyone can do. Let’s go. Safe drive. Long trip. Was it rainy but The bodyguards are also coming. Because the kids are going. Hey, it’s safe. What are your names? Why are you so shy? Your name? Due Jun Jun Ah, a new encounter is starting here too The others are all here It seems like they have a set place to go because there are convenience stores in the middle of the line . [Music] Choose as much as you want to eat. [Music] Why are you waiting outside? [Music] At first , there are so many fruits here. Now, it’s Spy Unnie. Unnie, should I buy one of these? Hmm [Music] What is this? [Music] That’s it. Let’s go. 1 2 3 4 5 10,000 25,000 That ‘s enough. Even if you can choose as much as you want , it’s too deep to just buy what you’ll eat and go like this. [Music] When I look at these kids, I can tell that they don’t eat too much and just buy what’s right for them . I think they can reduce their simple life like this. I think that’s how ttangjjai is. Then, this day goes like this. I’m looking forward to what will happen tomorrow. [Music] It’s made so that the originals don’t have time to come to mode. The kids just started gathering. They started to eat, but one by one. So we have to turn off the lights here quickly. [Music] I prepared some very special Korean food for dinner tonight. I brought Hanseong Tongron from Korea. I’m going to boil this and let you taste it once. This, this, this [music] Ohshu [music] Korean [music] Yeah. [music] [music] ا [music] Did you like the food that you had there or I suppose it’s good in California? I mean it was very diverse, you know. Yeah. Yeah. [music] Today, I decided to experience a special homestay tour that I was personally curious about. Let’s go. Let’s go. Hôm nay bạn sẽ đi mar. [music] Wow, it’s over. [ music] So so big. Wow! [music] Wow! Hornba Wow! [music] Ma [music] Wait a minute, it’s scary. Okay. Wow, whoa, whoa, whoa , whoa , whoa, whoa Now running , he suddenly came out and started eating grass. Oh, whoa, why, why, oh, he suddenly ran away and I’m getting dragged away. Is that okay? Ah, the buffalo is just running away. Uh [music] Miss, I don’t think we’ll be close at all. [music] [applause] [music] Hey, uncle’s just getting dragged around, but I think that’s it for me. I don’t know what’s going to happen today. Of all the buffaloes I’ve ever seen, this one’s the biggest . [music] I guess I’ll just wait until he calms down a bit . Wow, wow, wow, Hong-jae can’t do it, but it’s really funny how he’s getting dragged around. Oh my, he’s eating all the corn. He’s going to eat some goats and then he’s like , okay. Let’s go. Whoa. No no, old man. You’re a good boy. [music] [music] Yes , yes. Oh, he doesn’t like goats, so he’s not going. Yes. The cow’s blocking the road right now, so he’s going to kick it, no [music] [music] Oh, okay, he’s going to go outside, so he wants to run as fast as he can. Oh, just like people, he can shoot anything. I was my hands [music] Look. [music] [music] [applause] [music] [music] [music] It’s the same. It doesn’t seem to rain today. The weather is clear and the sun isn’t rising, but it’s been cloudy all day. Ah, I wanted to see the sun, but I’m drying my shoes here. [music] Nice aya What is this one? Coca-cola ah When were you married? When? And then wedding 10 years. Oh, 10 years. Yeah. 10 years. อื [music] you here Wow, it’s suddenly pouring rain. Ah [music] [music] [music] I’m really curious about this drink that I bought with the kids when they were getting addicted to it . What does it taste like? [music] What is it? What is this? Is it 잣ь? 짬지 This is oh, this is such a new taste. It’s not extremely sweet , but it’s a little sweet and has a hint of milk. It’s not the kind of taste that kids would like at all, but I guess the kids here have different tastes. Hmm, it’s not bad in its own way. This is just an earring, but is the taste that much different from an earring in Korea? It feels like it will burst if you hit it with your tongue. Oh, the sound of nitrogen escaping. [Music] Hmm. Even the smell is like that unnie. It’s exactly like Korea’s national pride. [Music] [Music] But it’s not crispy here, it feels damp. Did this ventilation pass? [Music] The teacher came out for a moment, but these guys must have gotten used to me after seeing me for a few days . They follow me even when I leave. Oh, I heard a lot of justice, but now I have to leave again. It’s really sad. Since I came here, you’ve been really kind to me with a really kind smile, and even though we don’t really communicate well, I feel like you’re looking at me with your eyes. Like this, on the slope of the mountain, you’ve built rice paddies step by step, and I think you’ve shown me the incredible wisdom of the farming method, and this kind of rural life, not just slow life and healing, but real rural life . Hey, the scenery here is nice. [Music] Hello [Music] But Bodhi ran away because he was scared of Yeomson. Hey, are you waiting here because you couldn’t get past Yeonso? [Music] Okay, I have some snacks left, so I’m going to share them with the kids I see around here. [Music] They’re climbing the mountain. [Music] Hey , hey, not even a goat. Bye. Yeah. [Music] Want snack here one by one. [Music] Good, good [Music] [Music] I’ve become a snack officer. Bye [Music] Bye. [Music] I’ll do it. I’ll do it. [Music] [Music] Hello. It’s finally the last day. Today is the end of my homestay, and I’m leaving. Oh, I have to wash up and pack my bags soon. Whenever I wake up like this in the morning, I always look forward to the tropical view from the window in front of me. I wonder what kind of scenery will be in front of me? I’m looking forward to it, and I think, “Oh, it looks really good today.” It seems different every time I open the window. Yesterday, I was tortured by the fog, but today, I can see it well. [Music] [Music] It’s the end here too. [Music] and your brother and brother and sister today in the village dead so they go to the funeral I see yeah so [Music] My mom thank you my father on Ah, okay. Okay. Oh, you went to the funeral. I can’t say hello anymore because I’m going to the funeral. Thank you. Bye. I should’ve said hello before. Then I’ll end it like this. Korea. Ahem. Oh, okay. Korea. Okay. Okay. Ari Nayo. [Music] [Applause] Here we go again. Ah. Oh, I got it wrong. Yes. So now, I met the Hmong family, an ethnic minority in Vietnam, in the 6th class. We spent a short time together , but I think we can’t help but feel attached because we spent time together. I met the couple again and talked about various things while spending time with them. It was fun to ask them how the Hmong people live and what their traditions are and learn about them. When I saw these terraced rice fields, I thought, “Oh, they’re really amazing.” They built rice fields on the slopes of the mountain like this, and I really respect their lifestyle . Also, it was a time for me to feel how comfortable I was living in Korea . [Music] I think I learned and felt something because I experienced it myself, even just a little bit . That makes me think that I should live harder. In the beginning, this 4 nights and 5 days of slow life [Music] Then, my homestay slow life with the Sabail Mong family in Kangjae will end here. I’ll see you in my next travel video. Bye. [Music] more tri around the but we gather here and we can is
