Is it safe to travel alone to Vietnam? Vietnam is the first country that Atlas went abroad alone. In this episode, I mustered up the courage to leave the comfort zone of Vietnamese cities and go deep into the countryside of Vietnam alone. After watching this episode, you will know the answer to the question about whether it is safe to travel alone to Vietnam. Now I took a taxi to the station and prepared to leave Hanoi for the next stop, Hoa Lu City in Ninh Binh Province, which is known as the “Guilin on Land”. Vietnam has “Guilin on the Sea” (Halong Bay) and “Guilin on Land” Lulong Bay. Ninh Binh Province is located in the southern end of the Red River Delta in northern Vietnam , about 90 kilometers from the capital Hanoi . In 2025, the Vietnamese government implemented drastic administrative reforms to abolish counties and merge provinces . Overnight, 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam were simplified to 34 provincial units, and 628 county-level administrative agencies were abolished as a whole. Henan Province and Nam Dinh Province were merged into Ninh Binh Province. Ninh Binh City and Hoa Lu County under Ninh Binh Province were merged into Hoa Lu City. Therefore, the Ninh Binh mentioned in the following video refers to Hoa Lu City under Ninh Binh Province. This is a 12-seater commercial vehicle with sufficient air conditioning. The key point is that it has type There is a charging port for C and a USB charging port , as well as a bottle of water . I ‘m tired and sleepy. It’s 2:30 in a building in the village. It’s about an hour and 50 minutes ‘ drive from Hanoi to Ninh Binh Province. I’ll show you my room. There is air conditioning and a fan. OK, let’s take a look at a wardrobe , hangers, and a dry and wet separation water heater. It’s OK, it’s quite clean . There is a TV, a table , and a refrigerator. Many homestays in Vietnam have refrigerators or hotels . A table . Take a look at this balcony, a small balcony. Here comes the point . This is a mountain view room. This room is 300,000 Vietnamese dong , which is about 90 yuan (about 12.5 US dollars). There is mineral water , coffee and tea. The tea and coffee are the same as those given by the hotel I stayed in Sapa Town. Take a look here. I haven’t posted a video for several days, and then a viewer asked if you were okay in Vietnam. I haven’t posted a video for so long, so I’m going to post a video today . Then you can hear the birds and insects here. I stayed in a rural homestay in Hoa Lu City, Ninh Binh Province . The Chang’an Scenic Area, about a few kilometers away, is known as the “Land Halong Bay” of Vietnam. It was opened in 2014. Recognized by UNESCO as a “World Cultural and Natural Heritage”, it is the only World Cultural and Natural Heritage among Vietnam’s eight World Heritage sites, which is very rare. But Hoa Lu City has another thing that attracts me even more. It was the capital of Vietnam’s first unified dynasty. In 968 AD, the Dinh tribe led and defeated the twelve envoys who ruled northern Vietnam . In 968, they unified the country and proclaimed themselves emperors and established the country “Dai Co Viet” (968-980), with the capital in Hoa Lu City in Ninh Binh Province . The capital of the subsequent Pre-Le Dynasty (980-1009) was also in Hoa Lu City, which is today’s existing ancient capital of Hoa Lu. It was not until 1010 AD that Ly Thai-zu Ly Cong Uan moved the capital to Thang Long, which is today’s Hanoi, that Hoa Lu City ceased to be the capital of Vietnam. Regarding the aforementioned Thang Long, I once filmed a video about the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long in Hanoi . It is the only World Heritage Site in Hanoi, Vietnam. If you are interested , please click to watch. This is the room next to me. This room feels good. It’s really nice. There are two big French windows. This big window is so beautiful . It’s very quiet here. There are some scenes in this small village in a corner. This is the first floor of the homestay . I rented a motorcycle. These courtyards are all hung with national flags. The cicadas here are so loud . This is my first time to explore the countryside of Vietnam by motorcycle. This is a crossroads. This feeling is very special and it feels like China , but obviously I can’t communicate with the locals. Wow, I’m a little excited . I ‘m traveling alone in the countryside of Vietnam. I was nervous and trembling even when I entered Vietnam from Dongxing, Guangxi. Now I have to explore the countryside of Vietnam alone. The scenery is beautiful. A small river flows through the small village surrounded by mountains and lakes. Although it is relatively rustic, we can see that there are some restaurants in these villages with English menus. Although this place is not as well-known as Halong Bay and Halong City , for some people who like niche tourist attractions that are smaller than Halong Bay , they will come to Ninh Binh for food, drink, music , and riding bicycles to enjoy the fun of riding in the countryside . You can say that this scene feels familiar with Guangxi. It does have it , but it also has A kind of temperament that is very unfamiliar to me. There is always a sense of alienation. I saw a temple. It is a traditional Chinese character “奉三而御下 得一以居中” (maybe I read it wrong). There are many churches in the countryside of Vietnam. Almost every village has a church. Now I am walking along the paved road along the river bank of this small river. You can see that the villagers here have more or less mastered some English because of the development of tourism. In fact, the scene of Ninh Binh is very similar to many places in Guangxi. A viewer left a message under my video. It said that because Vietnam did not experience the Cultural Revolution , the traditional culture and folk customs here are relatively intact. A burst of white Teng shocked the north, and the sound of history was in the south. Day (don’t understand what it means) I have a feeling when I come to Vietnam . Although I don’t know what the Chinese people were like in the past , I vaguely feel that this is probably like what China was like in the past , just a few decades ago. This does not refer to the Vietnamese economy or the development of Vietnamese villages like China a few decades ago , but to some quaint traces in Vietnamese villages and an indescribable atmosphere that always reminds me of the past China. Although I have not experienced those distant years , I have more or less got some impressions from movies and books. I have seen Wolong Mountain in front of me. People are walking on the mountain path. It is dim. If it weren’t for so many white-skinned tourists, this place really looks like a place in Guangxi. This stream is very beautiful. I see this thing here every once in a while. Can you walk up to it and take a look at this stream ? What is this? Oh, a pleasant rural scene. Look at the rice seedlings planted here . They have grown taller. Some of them are even yellow. The tour bus shuttles through this country road. The weather is so good today. The blue sky is particularly soft. On this country road beside the stream, I noticed that the rice seedlings in the rice fields have already grown rice ears. In the town of Sapa on the northern plateau of Vietnam that I just left, I found that the rice fields there have just been planted with rice seedlings . The difference between the south and the north reminds me of Vietnam . Although its area is only about the same as that of Yunnan Province in China , it is very narrow and long. Wow, it’s so beautiful. The scene of this rural field feels really picturesque here . Aerial photography of a cemetery in the middle of a field . I wanted to be a cowherd and feed the cows, but I didn’t. Bougainvillea bloomed on a tree with white and purple colors, and some of them are the first time I have seen them. Look at how big the yards of these villagers are. There are mango trees , vegetable plots , pomelo trees, and coconut trees. Vietnam, like China, is a country deeply influenced by Confucian culture. Before French colonization Ah, Chinese characters are used all the time here . The countryside in Vietnam is quite clean. You can see there are trash cans at the door of every house. They also have garbage trucks that collect garbage. I think the houses in these rural areas are really nice because it seems that every family has a yard, and some even have ponds. Fruit trees and vegetables are planted in the yards. I think it’s very comfortable. Children are riding bicycles in circles in their own yards . Some of the children are sitting on the ground with blankets to cool off. Hey, you see there is also a small pond here. I see that many people in rural Vietnam have ponds at home. I don’t know if it is for raising fish or because they believe that water can bring good luck. The countryside in the south is much better than I thought. Look at the murals on the wall, the water buffaloes , the small river, the farmers carrying farm tools, and many houses have paintings on them. It’s a picture of the countryside , the leisure atmosphere, riding a water buffalo . Is this a primary school? The store, look, this is the yard of one of the families. The pond is even bigger . The main gate is a temple. I see a word “Fu” in it . The east and west are great, the pillars of heaven are on the left and right, and the original is standing on the earth. Xiong (maybe I read it wrong). The ancestors accumulated virtues and planted grass and met spring. Jackfruit, you see, there are two families with a small pond in the middle. Hello, wow , this is the doorstep of this house This is the scenery. Hey, there is a cemetery in front . This cemetery is in the middle of the field. Some people even built a house for the graves to protect them from wind and rain. The spirit of the eternal house is in the descendants, and the body is in the world . This is too much like the field in my home. It is also this kind of unpaved road. After the sun, this muddy road becomes like this. This is the pasture grass. Wow, the purple clouds tonight are so beautiful. Does it look like the sunlight penetrating the clouds? It is actually purple clouds. Stop and take a picture with your camera. If there is any Chinese province that is most like Vietnam, it must be Guangxi. This kind of field This kind of small hill and the appearance of these villagers are actually quite similar to the people of Guangxi. This road is also beautiful . Take a picture. You can see that the lights of Wolong Mountain have been turned on. There is a small pavilion in the mountains and rivers of Hoa Lu City, Vietnam. There is a mysterious mountain called Wolong Mountain. It is like a giant dragon perched on the valley plain. The winding ridge is like a dragon’s spine, so it is named Wolong . Wolong symbolizes auspiciousness, strength and protection in traditional Vietnamese culture. There is a dragon sculpture and an observation deck on the top of Wolong Mountain with a very broad view . Legend has it that this is the place where the emperor of the Ding Dynasty practiced internal skills. It was built for Feng Shui . 100,000 Buy tickets at Vietnam Dong. Climb up the steps from the foot of the mountain . The 486 winding steps are like a dragon’s spine. When you reach the top, it seems like walking on the tip of a knife. Thousands of peaks in the distance can be seen by looking up. This is also one of the best places in Hoa Lu City to watch the sunrise and sunset . Because it was getting dark, I originally wanted to wait until the next day to climb to the top of Wolong Mountain to shoot the sunrise. I never thought that a small accident happened. When I left Hoa Lu City, I was not able to climb to the top of the mountain. Fortunately, I had used a drone to record this magnificent scenery. The sunset tonight is particularly gorgeous. I feel that drones cannot capture that kind of gorgeousness . As I was shooting, it got dark and the cicadas and frogs were chirping. The cries are getting louder and louder. I have to find something to eat. I didn’t eat lunch, so I just had an egg. The lights of some cafes and restaurants in the village were turned on, reflecting on the river . Uh, colorful. The above is the full content of this episode. I’m very happy that you can see this. If you think it’s well shot, please remember to like and subscribe to my comments. This is a great support for me. In the next video, I will explore the only world cultural and natural dual heritage site in Vietnam, Chang’an Scenic Area , which is known as the “Land Halong Bay”. Thank you for watching. I’m Atlas. See you next time . Thank you for watching. Like, leave a message and subscribe

Hoa Lu City in Ninh Binh Province was the capital of Vietnam’s first unified dynasty—the Dinh Dynasty—also known as the ancient capital of Hoa Lu. It is also home to Vietnam’s only mixed World Heritage Site, the Trang An Landscape Complex. 1. Chúc bạn một chuyến du lịch vui vẻ, an toàn ❤

  2. Ah Shu, thanks for the sharing videos. Vietnam is a very beautiful country. Do take care and enjoy your trip…..👏👏👏👍👍👍💪💪💪♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
